I came in for an oil change. I switched to Mike Shaw Subaru last year after a few years with poor customer service at another dealership. I have never had anything other than top customer care and today was no exception. I worked with Chris Sparks and he was kind, and explained everything I needed to know about current and future care for my car. Great place!

Purchased a used Kia Soul here a little over a year ago. Was a first time buyer - was sold a service/care contract for major repairs on the car, added about 2K total to my overall financed price but was told it was worth it since "all major repairs for transmission, engine, etc" would be fully covered by said contract.
Fast forward to now, my car needs its timing belt replaced which is covered by the contract. Great! I call Mike Shaw Subaru and get set up for an appointment, no problems there was set up for a Saturday AM dropoff. Today I called to double check the time of my appointment and I'm told the appointment does not exist in their system, not only that but they cannot do work on any car other than a Subaru, "not even an oil change". Now I'm very confused because last week I made an appointment and was told it wasn't an issue. Called the gentlemen who sold me my car and he said they should be able to work on it - he would talk to the service manager.
Finally get a call back to sort this out, and the gentlemen who sold me my car informs me that there is in fact no mechanics in their shop who are able to work on a Kia. He tells me I'll have to take my car to a different shop and pay a $200 deductible on the repair and there's nothing he can do about it. OH also - it's only for "catastrophic situations" so I can't get the belt repaired until it breaks. Also was never explained to me. By the time the service contract expires my car will be at 94K miles and the belt will likely not have broken.
So- FIRST TIME BUYER BEWARE! They will screw you over and sell you a product they have no intentions of honoring at their shop, and not explain it well at all. I asked for a refund and was told "no can do". Completely disgraceful.
Mike Shaw is the only place to buy the PERFECT Colorado car. In the last 6 years my wife and I have leased 6 Subaru. Peter Beckingham makes the financing easy and fun. I recently purchased my vehicle from Mike Shaw Subaru at 10th, and I am very happy with it. Cliff our sales guy was super efficient, and professional. I had done my research online, and knew what I wanted. Cliff assisted me with information, and was very practical which I can appreciate. We did it all the same day in a very timely manner. My experience leasing my brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy with Mike Shaw Subaru was exceptional! I did most of my negotiations and planning by email or phone, being that I was coordinating from out-of-state, prior to my move to Denver, and the process couldn't have been more seamless. I worked with Cliff, and he went above and beyond! I would definitely recommend him as your sales consultant. And I would absolutely recommend Mike Shaw Subaru in general. All of the staff was friendly, professional, and highly educated in every aspect of their business. I truly hope to continue my future car leasing/buying relationship with Mike Shaw.
Was shopping around for a used Acura TSX today but unfortunately I was informed the car had sold as I was inquiring about it. The salesman I was messaging, Austin Elzinga was quick to ask what I was interested in buying and he showed me a Honda Civic and Honda Accord V6. I took interest in the Accord and was prepared to test drive it, but unfortunately it was offsite at the Greeley location. He asked if I wanted it transported to their location with a very reasonable deposit, but to save his time in case I didn t like the car, I politely declined. I would absolutely recommend him if you are looking at a used car or new Subaru, best salesman I ve talked to so far.
I would highly recommend Mike Shaw Subaru. Buying a car for me is generally an arduous, stressful process. It wasn't this time. All of the people at Mike Shaw were very friendly and helpful. They listened to me and worked to meet my vehicle and budget needs, making my car buying experience a pleasure. The whole process took about half the time it has in the past with other dealerships, and I am absolutely thrilled with my new Subaru.

The last Subaru dealership I went to for service made me lose my trust in dealerships, but I decided to try Mike Shaw and I couldn't be happier. Wally and his techs took amazing car of both me and my Forester. I showed up with a broken spring and, unknown to me, 2 nails in my tire. They got it all fixed up for me and even patched the holes in the tire free of charge. I honestly couldn't be happier with my decision to go to Mike Shaw, I will definitely be back. Financing was super easy, and it was a pleasant experience all around when usually buying a car is so stressful. I really appreciated how smooth and easy it all was! (I also used the service department for adding some accessories the next week, and they were excellent as well.)

I Bought a great 2015 subie from them, part of the deal was they would fix the unresponsive cruise control button or wiring. Long story short I made three appointment in 4 months (wait time was 2-3 weeks out for each appointment). First second and third I sat there for over 3 hours while they fix it After third time not being able to fix CRUISE CONTROL on a 2015 Subaru that you guys SPECIALIZE IN, they sent me to the place across the street to the ram dealership right next to mike Shaw. (Not without a 2-3 week app date of course) So now 4th appointment on a 18k car I paid in cashier check full. I Make an appointment with the ram dealership that mike Shaw sent me to and told me to call, talk to the guy who knows how to fix it; and says it ll take 4hrs max . I get to the dealership and not only do they all of a sudden need to keep my car for 4 DAYS. Which wasn t possible for me with work at the time. But I was treated poorly.
I understand it was a busy time last summer-dec, but the lack of communication and what they re going to tell you and being unable to get ahold of my salesman because they let him go, is just absurd to me. I get that that happens but 4 appointments for a cruise control button that just doesn t set is ridiculous. Especially to tell me they have to hold my car for 4-5 days because they were super busy . Well then what s the point of an appointment?????? I m disappointed in them. Anyways almost a year later Finally making this review and last message I left was to call me back to reset an appointment. No call back.
Would not buy another car from them, strictly on service and communication/ attitudes. Wish we could have remedied this. This review would have been 5 stars if I was just told up front and not run around 30 miles there and back 4 times for nothing to change. Not even an apology from them.
I ve always received great service from Mike Shaw s and Jay continues in that tradition. Even when I drop by for minor issues without an appointment, he says I ALWAYS have time for you . That makes me a Subaru fan for life!

Have to change my review to one star. I bought a new car and within 7,000 mi my brakes started squeaking. The service department heard it and commented on it but insist it's not happening, and now with the cold I needed to get a little bit more air in my tires since the pressure is low but they're telling me they can't do that because they close in 30 minutes, though they did offer to let me leave my car overnight.
I really wanted to like them, but it's very clear to me that they stopped caring after I bought the car.

Ask for Zach Elkin!! I bought a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Zach spent half the day letting me test drive vehicles and answering all of my questions. He wasn't at all pushy or impatient with my inquiries. He's a laid back genuine guy who made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. No one likes spending all day at the dealership but Zach made it all worth it!! Best experience buying a car so far.
Absolutely best customer service. I had initially only gone to look, not really buy. Also my first time buying a newer car as well, so I knew what I wanted, but didn't know what I was looking for. Then a gentleman named Keith came out of the building and asked us of we needed assistance. We asked about a couple trucks that they had and he was VERY helpful and more knowledgeable than I thought. He works at a Subaru dealership and still knew a lot about other cars including Ram. No one was pushy, or leaning towards something I didn't want. He focused on what my interests were and sold me on this Ram. I love my truck, it may have taken longer than expected, but it was completely worth it. Even the other workers were amazing, every constantly checks in on you and makes you feel like you're at home rather than a dealership. I will be going back for my next car. It may be a while, but it was an awesome day. I highly recommend going if it's your first time going.
Do not buy a used car from this dealership, they clearly do not care and will sell you a lemon. We bought a car from them earlier this year. Within one month we needed to replace the alternator. When we brought this to their attention, they couldn't care less and said it was our problem. Now the car is completely dead. Our mechanic says that shoddy work was performed prior to us purchasing the car and it has finally fallen apart. We are out $8k and there is nothing we can do about it. Stay far, far away from these terrible people!!!!

What a scam. We test drive vehicle and the salesman was very shady. Lied to us about financing and pricing. My wife did a little research and found out he was a registered sex offender. Wow. Can t believe this dealership would put customers in harms way. Never buy a car from this place.
I brought my sti in for 30k mile maintenance. After leaving i checked my oil it looked pretty dark for band new oil and it was over filled by about 3/4 of a quart. If i didnt check it i could have some bubbles happening in my oil. In addition i reset the peak boost guage in the car and when i got it i can tell there was a bit of a joy ride that happened. I went to pick my car up 2 hours after they called saying it was done and the car was still at full temp. I reported the over filled oil to the service manager who emailed me the day of to give me a report and he hasnt gotten back to me going on 3 days now. And i got a text message from someone to see how my experience was and when i told them it was less then perfect they didnt respond for over an hour and i had to check in again to get a response. They told me they were letting the manager know and they would call me. I havent gotten a call and now when i try to check in with them no one responds. I havent been mean or nasty just simply stating the issues and everyone turns their sholder. I will not be bring my car back to them again. I suggest you do the same. If things get made right in the next week ill update with a better review.
We were able to start the process over the phone which gave me great confidence in the dealership. Even though they were very busy they made time to speak with us and had the vehicle aside for our test drive.
I came in to test drive a 2020 Outback XT, and they just happened to have one with exactly all the features I was looking for, and an awesome color too. This was definitely luck, but the amazing service and very relaxed vibe was thanks to Alex Comar and his trainee, Alex King. I never felt pressured, and they walked me easily through everything on the car, the financing options, and my trade-in value. I was so impressed by the whole experience that I wound up driving home in an amazing new Outback! Definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had at a dealership, and I couldn't be more stoked with my new car. Absolutely recommend Mike Shaw Subaru and their awesome staff!

Shane was my sales representative, and he was very courteous and I didn't feel any pressure to drive away with a new vehicle. First let me say. That the days of going to a dealership and waiting hours to buy a new car are over. I dred buying a car. Its ranked up to all time worst experiences that can reoccur in any of our life times. So with that being said. I called Mike Shaw Subaru. Randon was who answered my phone call to the dealership. This was the first step in experiencing the smoothest car buying process ever! Randon disclosed that he handled the internet sales for the dealership. So he would get me squared away with Tori. Tori was a catalysts in this process too! I explained that i didn't want to have another experience of being at the dealership all day to buy a car. So with all this being said. Tori was listening to what i said. She sold me a car. A band new Outback! Not to mention the whole process maybe took 2 hours! So from paperwork to explaining all the features and functions of my new car, 2 hours! What a breath of fresh air. Tori wasn't about selling a car but giving an experience of a smooth purchase. She listened to what i wanted and delivered. Thank you Tori, Randon, and of course Mike Shaw!! I'll be back!

Lois and I had a real professional experience and the stall made us at ease. We actually had fun during our purchase experience with people at Mike Shaw's Ssubaru. We were incouraged to test drive as many models as we wanted to. In fact the staff suggested we go home if it was becoming difficult to make a decision. One of the models was a 2020 Outback which I really loved and hoped to take home that afternoon. But my worrywort of a spouse smarted wringing her hands about the payments, even with our bugget math right in front of her. Well I've known her for 35 yrs so I knew that there was no getting past that wall of course. So I reminded her about.the low milage, very fine condition, 2015 Forester we test drove. Which Lois like from the beginning. In fact I didn't even have to ask her is that the one because of the way her eyes lit up. So now the car sits in our garage and Lois is very happy. You know the saying happy wife husband gets to be happy too. Maybe next time I'll get my new car for my 75th birthday hehe. Thanks for everything it really was fun.
I originally went to another dealership to purchase a 2017 Forester and this horrific process took more than one month and the ETA cotinued to be pushed back. My boyfriend purchased his last two vehicles at Mike Shaw and highly recommended this place. They had the vehicle I was looking for in gray and I came in late that evening around 7:30 pm and Cliff was so kind to come back to work after getting off at 4:00 pm. It was a quick and painless process and I ended up driving my car home that evening. The overall experience was amazing!! I absolutely love my car and will recommend family and friends here.
I have a 2014 Forester, still under warranty, that has a bad brake light switch. This had been replaced in Feb 2015. The car will not go into gear, except after repeated starting and stopping of the motor. At one point we couldn't stop the motor even with the ignition in the "off" position and the key removed. I was told on Tuesday that they couldn't get the car into service until the following Thursday, and I couldn't get a loaner because the repair only takes about an hour. I told them that my wife needed the car to get to work. For me to take her it would be a 40 mile one way distance from where I work. They told me of a work-around where I can bypass the switch and the car will not have any issues with the shifter. The work-around did work, however they didn't tell me that the work-around would leave us driving with no brake lights. I am totally disappointed in the lack of caring by the service dept. I am now having 2nd thoughts about doing business with Mike Shaw. In fairness, the other times have been good. But this time, the so-called service is unacceptable.
Made an appointment to get a couple recall issues done on my 2010 legacy. Came in bright and early and everything went great.. got a free loaner the works.. Even the guy I worked with this morning was wonderful... sorry I didn't catch your name being that I was half asleep and sick.
I get a call 3 hrs later saying the airbag recall was fixed but they couldn't get my hood open to fix the second recall of the motor burn out for the windshield wiper. I was told it took several mechanics to attempt at the hood and no one could figure it out... if I wanted the motor fixed, I would need to pay $95 for them to get inside, fix the hood and fix the windshield motor. So I told them to forget about it and I'll figure out the hood issue and come back.
Come back 6 hours after they called.. ignored for a solid 15 minutes while one of the representatives talked about football and played videos to one of his buddies in the room. After he was finished with his video watching, he decided to take the time to help me by giving me my paperwork and my keys and showed me where my car was. As he walked back inside without showing me what was wrong with the hood, I opened the car door, released the hood latch on the inside, walked over to the front and grabbed the hood with one hand and release the secondary latch with the second. It opened. Walked back in, showed the original gentleman from the morning the opened hood and waited another 30minutes to get the motor replaced.
For the fact that this white, blonde girl from California (and yes I will use that stereotype since that's how I'm almost always treated at every autoshop because I look like I don't know better) has been under the hood of a car more times than you can imagine and can fix a problem in under a minute makes me question how well you guys actually replaced the recalled airbags in my car... especially if "several guys" in the shop can't figure out how to open the damn hood.
We made an appointment and ended up leaving our car there for 2 days. Simple service: add an upgraded part to our car, oil change and tire rotation. The service advisor told us that they had mechanics returning due to Covid19. We get that and understand that, however, the schedule should take into account the amount of mechanics you have available to do the work. This is not the first time we have had an issue with an appointment. We had an oil change scheduled (we had an appointment), we also told them we would be waiting there for the oil change. We waited 3 hours for the oil change, and was told that appointments don't really hold the spot for you!! We do have a certified Subaru mechanic very close to home, that we will now go to exclusively. Also, with this last visit, we had a invoice for the added part at an honored price. Service stated they had it and would apply it. I verified when I called again on the second day they had my car and they confirmed they had the invoice for the upgraded part, plus they gave me $20 off of the other services. When we got there to pick up our car, the price for the new part and the $20 off was not applied. Mike Shaw, I would strongly suggest that you work on this with your service scheduling etc. Your Better than this!!

I took my Subaru Forester in for service first thing Saturday morning. I was really happy with the service, and pleasantly surprised with how timely everything was, even after a problem was spotted and services were added. I worked with Matt, who is relatively new to Mike Shaw Subaru, and I thought he did a great job. I would recommend using these guys for your Subaru needs.
I just bought a certified preowned Subaru Impreza Sport and I was super happy with the experience. It is a very nice dealership. I got a lease trade-in and the person who had the car before me clearly pampered their car so that means I scored! Nate was our salesperson and was a pleasure to work with. He found us a deal that worked for our budget. I do recommend staying firm on your price though, if you think it s reasonable, and use an online auto loan calculator to make sure you re getting good financing terms from the dealer. They do have room to move you to a better price, so it s worth going through a bit of haggling. The finance department took a long time to get to us after our deal was agreed on, which was annoying, but when we finally met with them it was a fast, good experience. All in all, super happy buying from Mike Shaw and would recommend them to anyone.
Our experience at Mike Shaw, and Cliff specifically, was everything you hope you'll get when going through a new car process. We were trading in our lease for another lease, and the process couldn't have been smoother. Definitely work with Cliff! He was very personable and accommodating. He worked with us to be sure we got all the features we wanted, and at a price that was fair to both sides. We never felt rushed or pushed at any point.

My boyfriend leased a car for 3 years from Subaru, then (per instructions) returned it to Mike Shaw on 104th and Huron. MONTHS later, we started receiving toll fees for the plate that was in my boyfriend s name, thought he d returned the car in near perfect condition. He tried tirelessly to get a response for Mike Shaw, but they would not respond or help him. He finally hade to file a POLICE REPORT to get the toll fees taken care of, after months of acquiring more and more. Mike Shaw Subaru is dirty, evasive, and an absolute joke of a company. DO NOT RENT, LEASE, OR BUY. You ve been warned.

I took my subaru in for a maintenance check about a week ago. I worked with Tim Dreger, who went far above and beyond what was asked of him. I put a lot of miles on my car for work and knew that quite a lot of work needed to be done but Mike Shaw gave me a comprehensive list of what was wrong, how urgent the problem was, and the cost. Tim helped me understand the repairs and helped me find the most cost effective options. Instead of having to take vacation time while my car was in the shop, Tim helped me get a complimentary loaner car so I could drive to work. I have been coming here for routine maintenance for years but this made me absolutely certain that I will keep coming here for my subaru and for my next subaru purchase. Thanks Tim!
Buyer beware ! I purchased a vehicle from this dealership and there have been a couple problems with getting paperwork completed properly. The problems, per the DMV spokesperson was with the dealership making errors, not with me. Now I am at risk of having a vehicle sit in my driveway, which I am making payments on and soon won't be able to drive it. I also wanted to use the vehicle on vacation and won't be able to. I have been lied too ! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE !
We needed to turn in our lease back at Mike Shaw Subaru and called a couple different times and were told by multiple employees to just come in any time to return the car. So we left work early and made a trek across town and were told by the salesman at 5:45 that their systems can't take lease returns after 6, and that we would have to to come back and try again?? I think he was trying to get out the door at 6 and didn't wan't to stay the extra 10 minutes to process the lease return. We called another subaru dealership down off arapahoe and they said there is no such rule and were very accomadating and allowed us to drop the lease off there the same night.

Tuesday night my car died. My daughters friend recommended mike shaw in Thornton and to see jamie antillon. When I came and asked for him he promptly came. He showed me many cars but could see they were not what I wanted. He said I was just settling and wanted to make me happy. My customers need to smile and say that is the one I was looking for. He found a car for me to fit my budget. It was a dream come true. I have never owned a new car and I have been driving for 45 years. I have a fear of snow. He listened to me and made me smile. I am a proud owner of a new forrester. She is beautiful and it snowed the next day! The car did well. Overall I am SUPER happy with the service provided today. I'll be the first to admit I know nothing about cars and everyone I spoke to was courteous and helpful. Communication could have been a little better but they were busy so I understand.

This is my first ever leasing experience (new college grad, new job, and now a new car!), and OJ was the best leasing agent I could ask for. He was friendly, patient, and answered all my questions!
