Midway Services Inc. Review

I called Midway services to assist us with the electrical on the install of an exhaust fan. Normally this would be a pretty simple job but there was some crazy wiring going on up in my roof. Midway agreed to send someone out next day and to give us an estimate from the job. I got a call about an a half an hour later and the dispatcher said someone would be available in about 30 minutes. Kevin arrived on time and evaluating the job and gave me two options for repair. Bottom line he installed a junction box and left us with a simple hook up ensuring that it was all Going to work safely. He was polite and followed Covid safety precautions and completed the job in a timely manner I gave him five stars

The people on the phone were very nice and helpful! The service men were great and explained everything in detail, they were very professional. I am pleased with their service!

Outstanding from the first phone call to the final step! Very courteous and professional service from receptionist, to project manager, to service technician - they were all on their game. I live in a high-rise in Tampa's Channelside District with strict regulations for contractors. I called and Midway sent someone to estimate the jetted tub demo, including cap off of lines and debris removal that same day. My building required a city permit to begin work which Midway handled the next morning and the crew was here by noon to start work. Due to building regulations saying all contract work must be done by 5pm, they couldn't complete the last step of debris removal until the next business day. They came on time, the project and city inspection approval was all completed in under 2 hours! Ready for my flooring & tile guys now! Thank you team at Midway Services - Karen, Henry & Jaime!

3/9/18 update - Midway Services called and offered to replace the stairs to our attic. When installing the new stairs technicians were on time and professional. Thanks for making it right!

The staff member who came to our home to provide a quote for a range hood installation broke the ladder to our attic and was unable to fix the break. We called to speak with a supervisor and were told we would receive a return phone call. Call was not returned.

Installed tankless water heater, very professional, prompt, excellent experience, highly recommend

I bought 3 years maintenance plan. The receptionist called few times insisting to scheduler AC tune up and maintenance checkup for plumbing.
I could not schedule at first, She called again and I said ok.
AC guy came and told me It will take him whole day as I have 5 units starting from first unit, He told to add UV light. Then next one something with capacitor not working its full capacity, I said Im not interested till it breaks. Last one he comes and told me I have broken fan and its not going to work and to fix it will cost 600$.I asked him, how is it possible it was working fine last night. He said he has nothing to do with that.
While before this tune up my all units were working fine on cooling and heating. This is my first time getting Maintenance Plan.
What a ripoff to create unnecessary expense for homeowner and business for Midway.
People please be aware !!!

Terrible company to do business with! $1,600.00 for a 40 gallon electric water heater! Salesman not technicians, that's what you'll get. Options to $5,000+ for tankless water heater, I wasn't even interested in. After kicking the salesman out, he knocks and says he talked to a manager, could take 10% off! I laughed, said No. Don't waste your time calling this company, they only want your money!

Came out quickly to service my AC unit. Joe was kind and professional. When explaining repair options and add-ons, there was no pressure.

Received maintenance from Paul, was kind, quick, and professional. Offered options to safeguard my home from mildew buildup in my AC unit.

The technician was experienced and very professional with excellent customer service skills

Joe and Jacob are knowledgeable and friendly. They are polite and got right to work identifying the issue and underlying cause. While the entire time explaining why and what they were doing, which i appreciated. I will gladly use Midway Services in the future.

Tabor was great! He did a great job and cleaned up nicely after the job was completed.

Eric and Anthony showed excellent customer service and professionalism. Explanations given. Work done well.

In February, I signed a maintenance agreement with Midway Services for my A/C unit and had my initial inspection conducted by technician Anthony 4717. I was very impressed with his knowledge, thoroughness and professionalism.

Over the past weekend my heat pump stopped working, I called Midway and they sent technician Jason 4703. He conducted a very thorough troubleshooting of my entire A/C system and determined the solid state mother board was not working properly. It was still under warranty, so he ordered the new part, had it delivered to my home and installed the new mother board within the same visit.

He then conducted a series of tests and all is working well.

I was in the building trades and was a foreman of many electrical workers over many years in NY. I was extremely impressed with Jason, he is a true mechanic in my opinion, with an abundance of knowledge in his trade.

I highly recommend to Midway owners and supervisors to take great care of keeping such an excellent employee as Jason.

Terrance Chambers, my service tech, did a great job installing a hot water heater at my rental property strictly following all CDC precautionary measures. My tenants were very appreciative. Midway is always my go to company for my plumbing & electrical needs. I always recommend them to others, too.

My A/C went out on a Saturday afternoon! I neglected to call right away as it was a weekend and didn't want to spend the extra differential. However, I broke down and called at about 7pm. I had a wonderful representative, Jason, show up at my door at about 9:00 am on Sunday morning and he had everything up and running for me within an hour. He was courteous and informative and explained everything that was wrong and what was needed to repair the unit. I have always used Midway; I have opted for cheaper services but you honestly do get what you pay for.

I was charged $382 by Midway Services to troubleshoot a breaker box. He was here less than15 minutes and told me to call Duke Power to replace bad transformer. While I understand that a service call fee is reasonable, $382 is outrageous. I would never recommend calling them for service again.

I can't say enough about the service that Geri provided. He goes above and beyond! If there was a rating higher than 5 I would give him a 10. Just an outstanding service technician!!!

Geri was extremely knowledgeable, honest and helpful. He was the third plumber(3 diff companies) to come assess my issue. Without a doubt, he fixed my plumbing efficiently. Also, he was the only plumber to clean behind his self. I highly recommend.

Poor management. This company is slowly going broke.

I called midway services tonight sometime around 220 am and was told that a technician would call me within 30 minutes to let me know he was on his way. Up front for an emergency call out, you're on the hook for 99 dollars. An hour later I called back, at which time the operator had the tech call me. A half hour later, he showed up and was a nice enough guy.

By the time the guy showed up, I had disassembled my air conditioner housing and had done all of his troubleshooting for him. The capacitor was bad, and I had informed the operator of that when I had called a half hour earlier. The tech verified that I was correct, the capacitor was indeed bad. The tech then informs me that it will cost $404 dollars to install a new capacitor. So here's the rub, you can buy a new capacitor for less than 20 bucks. I did all the work and the troubleshooting and they basically wanted to charge me over $500 to install a 20 dollar part.

Completely unreasonable cost. I get that they're running a business. But nope.

Midway technician, Sam, was extremely professional, informed, and personable. He listened to all my concerns and put me at ease that he could resolve the problem. Definitely, the type of person you want on the front line representing your company. 5+ star rating very well deserved. Tiffany

I paid $1600 for no product,lots of unbelievable responses from a manager and lots of days with 89 degrees in the house mid July!!!I would never do shaming for the shaming however I'm asking you regular people that work hard for your money to double check before you do anything with this company!!!!I will be writing to BBB as well and please do not go for charmer A/C employees coming to your home when you are despair about your A/C In the summer of FL.I paid expensive!!!!!!!!Never doing anything or recommending this company!!!!!!

The Midway Services technician, arrived at the prescribed time, was efficient & polite, and carried out the difficult repair of our burst water main much to our satisfaction, and charged exactly as quoted, despite spending more time on the job, than anticipated.

Eric was awesome! He showed up on time, explained to us what our issues were so we could understand everything we needed to do, and took care of everything in an efficient manner. In addition to that he went above and beyond his duties and showed me how to use my drill that I couldn t figure out. Thank you so much for everything Eric!

Robert Keith came out and did a professional,courteous job diagnosing the serious leak in an upstairs shower pan.

On a Saturday, Tom showed up right on time. He quickly identified solutions to my request! I can not say enough good things about his service and attitude! All other services I called said they couldn't make it until Monday. No extra charge for weekend or short lead time. I needed it done today for family reasons. Again, Tom is the best! Today, Kellie Moran and I Had our air conditioner serviced. The technician, Paul, was fantastic. He cleaned The coils and serviced our AC. He did not try to push things off on us that we did not need but only told us of things that we needed. Midway Services, You need more employees like Paul.

Chris Nichols was very professional, friendly and efficient. He identified and fixed the electrical problem very quickly. Would definitely call Midway Services again.

Midway Services sent a reliable and professional technician. Jeffrey immediately went to work upon arrival to find the source of the electrical issue and rectify. He went above and beyond to fix the initial issue, as well as, look at other issues I asked about. He even coiled up my extension cords once they were no longer needed and left the area cleaner than before. I've never seen that from an electrician and appreciated his efforts. Big kudos to Midway Services and Jeffrey for their expert services.

I recently had an air conditioner issue, I called the one company I could trust! Midway services. Paul is the embodiment of a service expert. Paul was friendly, knowledgeable and diagnosed my issues within 20 minutes.Paul had all the parts on his truck to fix my issue today. I couldn't be happier with the services provided. Excellent company, was recommended to me by a neighbor at OTOW and she was SO right.
They know what they are doing, plumbing, electric work, carpentry I used all these services and the best employees in each area with the best experience were sent to our house immediately after the description of each step was explained in written.
The rooms cleaned after every job, and when they left was impossible to guess they were transforming the house few minutes before.
Really nice, courteous, professional employees, dedicated to do their individual jobs with excellency .

I had them come out to give me an estimate to clean my air ducts. Ducts were not even big or covering much space. They sent Shane over who seemed like a nice guy . I get the estimate and it's for $1250!!! For maybe 16 total feet of vent in my condo... the air handler is at the center of the hall so not much vent space needed. Pretty sure they came over assumed since I had a nice place they could take advantage of me. If you enjoy being ripped off then by all means use this place! No way will I ever call this place again. Refer to the pictures that I post of the estimate and you will throw up!!! The photo I post I their pictures is as you can clearly see duct clean for 1250 in a condo.... Get other estimates ! My second estimate was a third the price

Recently, had Midway Services replace my kitchen sink, faucet, garbage disposal
and install a new water softener. The technician, Stuart Dennis, was excellent
real professional, knowledgable, courteous and meticulous. I strongly recommend,
Stu, a Master Plumber, for any project.

Installed water heater. Quality workmanship and friendly service. Result for me is peace of mind. All employees should be as conscientious with the details.

Sam, Midwsy Service tech, just completed scheduled maintenance on our AC unit, plus adding a new thermostat.

He could not have been more professional or knowledgeable. Beside the service Sam also provided me with some tips that should prolong the life of the entire system.

Midway is always reliable and on time. I get several calls about when they are expected to be here and then when they are on their way. The work is always done to my satisfaction and the technicians are always polite and clean. They even sometimes wear the paper booties! I have used them for a/c, plumbing and electrical.

They came with in 2 hours of my call. Their service technician, Gerald, was the model technician, courteous, knowledgeable, and very personable.

Greg appeared to have a lot of experience and knew exactly what he was doing. He and Vladimir got right to work as soon as they got there and didn't stop until my new breaker box was completely installed.

I had a dining room light installed and replaced a ceiling fan Greg did the work and he was very good.

My old AC unit was on its final legs. I called several companies to come check it out but Midway was the only one that was able to come out that same day. They diagnosed the immediate problem and repaired it. Unfortunately several other issues which caused that immediate issue became apparent and it was determined that it would be better off replacing the entire unit. They gave me an excellent quote and even lent me two portable units as they couldn't get it replaced for two days.
On the day of installation, they did a professional job on the installation and was very thorough in checking out the entire system to make sure it was working properly. I highly recommend Midway Services.

Dev came out to our facility and did an excellent job! He kept me updated and work was done expertly. I would highly recommend Midway Services and Dev to anyone!

The electrical technician that arrived at the house, on a Sunday, was awesome. I was anxious about dealing with the problem while my husband was away, but Vladimir Blank immediately made me feel at ease with the situation. He was knowledgeable, thorough in troubleshooting, and took the time to explain the problem that was found. He made sure I had temporary power before he left that day. When he returned to complete the job, I was not disappointed at all. Vladimir Blank was professional, and had a great personality. I would use him again, and recommend to any family, friend, or any other who needs electrical work.

We've used Midway for EVERYTHING. Total home remodel and routine maintenance for Air Conditioning/Heating. Completely satisfied with this company. All their representatives are professional and courteous. Always clean up afterwards and wear shoe covers every time they enter your home. Would highly recommend Midway Services for any service or repair.

I ve used Midway for a number of years now and they ve always been on time and provided great service. While their prices may be higher, I believe you get what you pay for. I ve never had problems with their work (AC, electrical or plumbing).

Midway tried to rip my wife off. We needed a sink drain repair. Charged around $800 for a bandaid that costs about $12 to repair. I had to argue over the phone to get a refund

Greg was absolutely amazing, customer first and was committed to our satisfaction. He is a perfect example of patience with the customer and quality in the work he delivers

Plummer was second to none. He was experienced and did the job right.

Good quick Plumming work got a discount as I have a contract - Airconditioning also good maintenance

Tim was wonderful. He was in charge of our plumbing project. It was done very professionally. I was extremely impressed. I would use Midway for any project. They have now installed a new AC system and replaced and fixed the plumbing for my bathtub/shower.

Very professional business, & communication is great. We had them upgrade a few circuits & install whole-house surge protection and well as a few minor electrical system repairs. Greg was courteous, respectful & very good at what he does.

Total scam artists. They refuse to send details and when you over pay they conveniently lose information. Avoid this company at all cost. They are a third party company anyway and probably charge more than FPL.

Called Midway Services to come give me an estimate for my leaking main shut off valve and was quoted $580 ish and should take 2 hours. I was flabbergasted at the price!!! I went to Home Depot and spent $60 for the parts and stucco patch and it only took me 2 hours to do it myself. I am in construction fyi. I cant believe they charge so much for 2 hours of work. If you are handy, save yourself a lot of money!!!!

I called and scheduled an appointment for the next day, and they told me they will be in my house from 8-12 and that they will call me 45 minutes before to let me know they were on their way. I called them at 11:10 to check if the technician was on his way, and to my surprise I wasn't even scheduled at all. They apologized and told me that someone can come after 4pm but they were not even giving me a time frame. This shows how IRRESPONSIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL they are. I will NEVER contact them again.

Late last night, I realized that my A/C was making a strange noise when the interior unit would shut off. When I walked past our induction vent, where the filter was, I could feel cold air coming out. I knew something was wrong since that's not supposed to happen. I quickly went outside to where the outside unit was. Strangely, the fan was still running even though at this point, the interior unit had been off for a few minutes. After about an half hour of seeing if I could diagnose the issue, I decided to shut off breaker to the ac unit and look for an ac repair company in the morning.

Morning comes. I'm searching for a repair company but there are a ton in St. Pete. I wasnt sure who to go with but after glancing at my thermostat, I noticed that it was about 83 degrees inside. On the corner of the thermostat, I saw Midway services and their number. I decided to call them and was told that someone would call me back before close today. About 5 minutes later, a dispatcher called me back and said that Mike would be stopping by my home in the next hour.

About 30 minutes later, Mike arrived. Very nice guy. I could tell that he was a hard worker but the thing I noticed with techs in general is, they may have the ability to fix the problem but they usually spend a long time diagnosing the problem and then spend more time being a sales person. I personally work in sales. I HATE sales people in general because I dont want to be sold to. Instead, help educate me. Tell me what you can offer and how it enriches my life.

Anyhow, Mike and I walked over to the outside unit and I told him what the problem was. He listened. Because he was listening, he was able to diagnose the issue in less than a minute. He then explained what broke which was the relay contact controller. In Florida, those things can wear down. Ours was about 10 years old. Mike was able to get me a price on the unit, was able to install it and get my ac up and running in less than an hour.

As I just mentioned, my ac unit is 10 years old. I'll be in need of a new efficient ac unit soon and because of the service I recieved today, I'll be contacting Midway. Thank you!!

A young man named Zach came out this morning to fix my plumbing problem. He was excellent. He got the job done, informed me of my options in a clear and straightforward manner, was polite and personable.
In the past I have had mixed results with Midway. But unfortunately that is true with every other company I have used. Today, however, I feel that I was dealt with fairly and knowledgeably.
I also would like to say, that in the past I really liked an older gentleman named Terence from Midway.He also knew just what he was doing, and made sure I understood what my options were. I would gladly welcome either of these men to fix my plumbing problems in the future.

The service tech Paul was extremely courteous and helpful. Anthony did an excellent job explaining or options!

Very expensive! Why it costs $560 to change out 2 shut off valves is beyond me. Everyone was nice and once the job was done it was was fine. The technician thought it was ok to smoke pot between trips to the van (several trips). After several calls to the office I was able to get the price down a little. I don't think I would ever call them back or recommend them. I definitely don't want someone at my house who's smoking pot while on the job.
Update: A representative from Midway Services called me to talk about the review. They apologized for the kind of service I had. They took my problems seriously and are going to investigate them. They kindly refunded some of what we paid for the service due to the bad experience. I appriciate them taking the time to contact me to try and resolve the issues. I still don't know why it cost so much for the handles to be switched....

THE TECH came to me and showed me where he was looking. We both saw the leak was at the same point as before. Paul did everything correctly and showed me the test he was using. Paul is an excellent tech and would like to have him come back for our 6 month check up next month. I trust this man.
