Midland/Odessa Int'l Airport Review

I fly into here regularly and it never takes less than half an hour to get the bags out. Usually 45 minutes or longer. It's insane. I could walk each bag from the plane to the baggage claim one at a time on foot faster than they get them there. Worst airport I fly to.

Small town airport some delays every now n then but not too bad. For the first time flying in and out here was supper easy for me.

Worst airport I've ever flown! Everytime I fly the plane is delayed for hours. Have sat on runway for two and a half hours waiting for deicing.

Pretty good airport it's where we fly into when my wife and I are in Texas for my mother in law.

It would have been 5 stars but they weren't requiring masks.

American Airlines staffing here are so inefficient. Only one person at check in, and only one at the gate (who only showed up for boarding). And so rude. Wouldn t talk to answer any questions or even look at me. When I stood at the gate counter for over 40 minutes, she finally came and yelled I cannot help you . I am very tempted to write the name of the rude staff who is trying everything to make sure we miss out connecting flight; but don t think it will help her get any coaching from the supervisors. They all seem to be the same.

Small airport easy to get around and decent options for food and drinks.

I only can imagine that this airport got 3 stars because of the wonderful ladies serving margaritas and etc. at the Peppers Bar. Because nothing in this place deserves even 1 star! Start with a mile long hike from the rental car overflow parking lot that has no shuttles! Then the light version of TSA Precheck - a joke! In addition to all of the things that you have to take out and take off, they stick you with a card to hold in your hands in order to walk through the metal detector! OMG! And the scorching hot water in the bathroom to wash your hands does absolutely nothing for you to cool down when it s a 100-degree heat outside. If my work duties didn t require me to be here, I ll NEVER ever would come to this airport. And trust me, I know what I m talking about having 32 years of flying experience domestically and internationally! God, save us all from this place!

This airport is small but they are very efficient. They handle quite a bit of traffic as this is a hub for oilfield workers flying in and out. I have been to airports this size and most only have a few workers and are very slow. This airport runs at the pace of the big ones but without the amount of people as a big one.

worst airport to wait for a flight... everything is always closed. No food, no drinks... Plenty of paying customers but nothing open.. just seems lazy and inhospitable

It's a very small airport, with 5 gates and maybe four places to eat. The Midland/Odessa area is growing, y'all need to expand to fill that need. Not having a pre-boarding lounge where people can comfortably spend time with their loved ones before seeing them off is terrible. If someone who isn't even flying wants to have breakfast/lunch with the person they're sending off, they have to drive back toward town to do it. Other than that massive annoyance, the bathrooms were clean and the service is okay, though the staff is mysteriously absent oftentimes.
It's not like we have another choice, anyway. The only other airport out there is Schleymeyer Field, and that's for private aircraft.

Yes it's small and very easy to navigate through out it. People are very friendly and even security staff was quick to offer assistance to help you out. Outstanding customer service
No bearing on the airport but the rental car parking needs to be replaced with more efficient means of getting to the vehicle

My favorite airport, very small from front to gate is about 5mins. Just eat and drink something before you come out 9 times out of 10 your out of luck

I was waiting for my flight on November 8 when there was a fire alarm and instructions to evacuate the airport. We were not to use the elevators. I was in a wheelchair. None of the attendants or uniformed personnel knew what to do with the wheelchair bound people. Perhaps some retraining is needed. I felt very vulnerable.

Smaller airport, currently undergoing a remodel. Show up early if it is a busy day it could be a while.

Every time I have flown into or out of this airport it has been horrible. The people are rude and unfriendly and they don't keep up with flights. I had a flight that was supposed to leave at 5 in the morning and no one even showed up to check us in or to work security until 8. When they saw all of us waiting we could hear them ask each other "we had a flight this morning?" We just flew in to here again on Saturday and They told us our baggage was lost but it turns out they never unloaded it the night we landed. They also told us that our flight was delAyed due to fog in Houston so we missed our connecting flight but when we landed in Houston and looked up the flights not a single plane had been delayed all day and they said it had been clear skies. They probably lied because they don't have to refund tickets if they blame it on "natural causes" they even lied and posted that the flight left only thirty minutes late when in reality we didn't take off until an hour and thirty minutes later than scheduled. Rude, unhelpful service with employees who don't care at all. One military member was delayed a full 24 hours because of their mistakes. I already bought tickets for April but after that I will only be flying in and out of midland at last resort. I don't typically like leaving scathing reviews but I'm tired of them not even doing the bare necessities of their jobs especially when people are missing their connections because of it

The employees are always so friendly and it is easy to navigate

Midland airport needs some updating. The security line does not separate business select or a list passengers. The food selection is also limited with limited hours. Also be prepared to rent a car and it not be available once you arrive.

Needed assistance with wheel chair & help unloading luggage. Staff very cordial & helpful.

When taking my father who has issues walking after a car incident there was a gentleman out on the drive helping everyone he was very polite and friendly. Let me park for a few mins to walk my father inside and help him get checked in. The gentleman at the ticket counter was very nice. Great customer service! I was able to get my father to security no problem. I was very pleased with the customer service we received.

It's time for MAF to add extra security lines and have a separate entrance for frequent fliers. During peak hours you have the line so long that it causes the airlines not to depart because they know half the people are still trying to get through security causing the flight to be delayed. Also don't fly during the airshow because they will "close" the airport for incoming and outgoing flights. That's not how it's supposed to work. We were delayed in Dallas because they weren't accepting flights during an air show in October.

They call this a space port because flying saucers land here all the time to refuel. And the little green men with antenna can go to a special bathroom for 2 foot aliens. After that, they can meet with Obi Wan Kenobi at the bar to arrange shipments of unregistered cargo to be carried out on Hans Solo's Millenium Falcon to the planet Alderaan. Only in Midland-Odessa.

No TSA precheck and no explanation given, horrible food choices, half mile walk to return rental car.

Efficient in getting through security, everyone was very polite, nice smaller airport.

I'm not that impressed. If you're just wanting to rent a car there, you have to put your own car in paid parking. (Why can't there at least be some remote lot for rental car customers that is free?). Writing on the parking lot fee signs is tiny. You'll be thinking you're parking in the economy lot when really you're parking in the "close-in" lot which is $2 more a day, especially if approaching from Odessa via business route 20/La Force Blvd cause that's where it will dump you out at (the "close-in" lot entrance, not the economy one). It's hotter than blazes out there in the lot, and it seems like with all that revenue made from parking they could put up some canopies or an oleander or creosote bush or something to at least give a few fingerlings of shade, not the blistering tarmac of asphalt that we get. And the public transport option to the airport sucks..zero service on weekends. These things make for bad first impressions...

I fly 2-3 times a month and never have had any issues. Small quick airport.

Easy airport to get around. Flying into Midland I was able to rent a car without needing to take a shuttle and got to my hotel within 45 minutes of landing!

Arrived at 3:30am for a 5am flight. Doors were open but they didn't start checkin until 4am. Then the security checkpoint opened at 4:05am. Went through pretty effortless.

Every body is following the safety orders in this airport

Flew in on 6/6 and 2 of 4 urinals were out of order. Flew out on 6/9 and 3 of 4 urinals out of order. Went into restaurant area just to buy tea with two employees behind counter. FIrst one walked out of area without acknowledging me. Second person was making pizza. Placed in oven to cook and then she walked out of restaurant without acknowledging me. Put drinks back in cooler and left. Bad experience of customer service.

Tiny airport so it's super easy to navigate and get to where you need to be. Parking lot is tiny so the walk from the car is nice & short.

Food options are NOT good.

Worst airport I ever been. Rude people, rude service. Flights cancel ALL THE TIME

Well it sucks when you like your job in your bosses doesn't do his job like he's so post to do so to everyone who travels i wouldn't eat at Market fresh in Midland International air in space port that places is so nasty in never cleand right in they dont switch there containers out like there so post to do in the people there are lazy in they dont server fresh food are coffee either in there dishes are greasy in everyone on there cell phones in has ear buds in texting on there phones in talking on there cell phone's 24/7

Most of the help is non friendly, but what really bothered me was that I finally signed up for the tsa pre check. According to the advantages of this pre check, you do not have to take off shoes and you do not have to take out your lap top. Here you gain no real advantage to a pre check. I still had to take off shoes, pull out my laptop, take off my jewelry. This ended up being as long of a process without the tsa precheck. Why is this place so backwards?

The flight was over an hour delayed but none of the information panels were updated. My gate listed another flight which had already departed so I went and to talk to the flight desk. It took a half hour for the kiosk lady to assist the one passenger in front of me... According to her this was because she kept messing up re-routing his flight. Ok. Then we board. We wait at the gate for half an hour then the taxi backs the plane out for departure. This is when the pilot announces that the gate crew added 1000 lbs of extra fuel to the jet! Apparently they got confused about which aircraft they were fueling. Thanks United. This means we have to sit on the tarmac for 30 minutes while the engines burn off the extra fuel! The most stupid airport in the country. 2 stars cus the stupid conversations you hear at the one bar can be hilariously ridiculous.

Airport is easy to get around, but they only have one restaurant, Pepper's Mexican Grill. Food was great! In general the service was good, until one heavy set server with long black hair over charged me and when I questioned her she got upset, said "If I could not afford the $2 more per glass that she would take it off my bill and she did not need my tip." When I asked to see the manager she laughed and said he was not there..

I Love Midland international airport , great customer service

My experience at this airport was terrible. My flights kept getting delayed, but the attendants did not bother to update/inform the passengers as to why, or even let us know when we could expect to be on our way or know more information. A couple of the security guards were really nice, but a couple of them were extremely rude too. There are only 2 small food establishments within the airport, both of them on the other side of security. The people that work at these restaurants simply leave whenever they please, since they don't have "set" hours. When they do decide to leave, the people that have already gone through security are SOL for getting anything to eat or drink. This is probably the worst airport I've ever visited. What a joke.

This is the worst airport I have ever traveled in. The airport has no AC. The woman at the PAX bar and eatery restaurant in the airport ignored me when I stood right in front of her for breakfast then when asked if still serving breakfast I got a attitude like I was bothering her. This experience here has been horrible from start to finish.

Attended the airshow. I didn't like it at all. It was too hot, dry, dusty in that area. They should have had some canopies to at least have shade. We had to walk to far to see the show. Someone asked if we needed any help and we said we needed a ride back to our parking spot. He said he couldn't cause he was the only person assigned to guard. He mumbled something about putting one of the children on top of his little cart which I thought was rude and unnecessary. So I told him he wasn't funny. It should have been better organized for the price of admission. I'll never attend another. Too much money spent just to walk or stand in the heat and possibly have a stroke.

Maps got me to the general location, but since the pin is dropped in the middle of a runway, you won't show as arriving until your departing on the plane
