GPS works well accept in very heavily populated residential areas and certain parts of downtown Chicago .It would be great if we could get rid of the harsh female voice on Google maps it does not change when TTS is selected which makes the vpice app worthless and disappointing

This airport always has very short layover times on your flights but they took all of the fast food and replaced it with food you have to wait long times for with long lines. This place sucks! Terrible planning.

I am highly upset beyond measures. The outside directing traffic customer service rep along with the city of Chicago Tow company is by far the worst customer service I ve ever experienced in my years of coming to Chicago Midway International Airport. Not only did you stop me while I was in motion to get to my location but you threatened to tow my car! Here you have cabs other vehicles just sitting and you choose to interact with me in a horrible manner. Not only that the lady directing traffic just automatically assumed my mother was VERY well capable of walking from where he stopped us.That was the icing on the cake! Who are you to tell my mom she can walk ; excuse me she uses a cane! How dare you?! It was so much going on that I didn t have the opportunity to give my mom a hug and kiss like normally when she or I leave town. It s so much going on that that right there has tears on my eyes because you may never know what may happen. It s very upsetting.

The one thing to watch is parking .. remote parking is great with the shuttle dropping you right at baggage claim. Terminal parking, remember this left side is for daily and right side is for overnight. Get it wrong it will cost you 50.00 per day and the only thing you can do is to exit the airport and reenter and try again..safe travels.

I rarely rate or review anything ever in any capacity regarding anything, but this airport is so terrible I felt it necessary to share it with the world. Not a single restaurant before security to meet with family, business associates etc., stench of sewage through the entire airport and grossly outdated. You ll be walking in line off the escalator and I saw people briefly pause 1-3 seconds to look at the direction for their concourse- and the staff was literally yelling at them. It was like 1 pm on a Wednesday the place was empty, it s almost like the staff just enjoyed it. Been to many airports in the United States, this takes the crown as the worst I ve ever seen.

Long walkways with walking ramp gliders in parts of the airport. Has some gift shops on the boarding side as well as a lot of different eatery places. They also have 1 of Chicago best popcorn novelty shop that is a must try for anyone who has never been to CHICAGO, I AM SORRY I CAN'T remember it but it's the only 1 there anyway. (I recommend the cheese & caramel they are a bit pricey as well but worth it, like if you come to Houston, Tx go to The Popcorn Bar for Banana popcorn). But I usually fly SouthWest just cause of cost when I go there, I am legally handicapped but I walk through to the and put myself through the pain because I don't want to be pushed from checkin to the gate in a wheel chair, I just wish I knew a way I could walk through to the gate and be able to grab dinner and not pay the early boarding fee cause after that walk I always get stuck in the mid or back of the plane and that is even more painful on my legs when I have people jumping on them cause I don't pay that extra early boarding fee. Does anyone have any suggestions to get around that, I have never talked to the airline I wear a back brace under my shirt and a knee brace on my knee they have seen the knee brace but have never offered to bump me up or see why I even had it, so for any frequent travelers out there I will do the walk so I can grab something to eat, etc. It's just that little extra leg room I could do with, and I don't know know where that stops at either so it might just be pointless. Also I got a ticket that I got for Nov.21 that has to be used they told me before the 21st; because that would be my 1 year extension but corona had different plans trying to get to Indiana to see my 8 year old only grandchild that I haven't seen in 2 years everytime I try he has to go back to the hospital or I do breaks my heart. But I fly midway also cause it's close to get dropped off then o'hare for my son & easier for me to get picked back up at in Houston @ hobby..... God bless me with a little extra for a round trip ticket to see him again while tickets are cheap, I would starve to see this little boy after everything he has been through...Amen

I have been flying out of Midway Airport since the former Midway Airlines brought it back from the dead. Now I am a Southwest airlines fan. The Orange Line CTA train is very convenient. Remote parking is around the corner with frequent shuttle buses. Any cab driver in Chicago metro area knows how to get to Midway. The only bottle neck is at TSA, which sometimes has a line that crosses the bridge over Cicero Avenue. Then again, which airport regularly has polite, efficient and helpful TSA agents? Sometimes.

I m just trying to share my experience!

I m just trying to share my experience!

I was so impressed by the staff that I had recently received that I couldn t help but leave a review
(I was on a flight from Chicago to Austin at 6am Monday the 4th just in case the the airport actually reads these) the care and attention I got was the best I d ever got in a airport from (the guy at sky check in who kept telling me I got you and took a lot of fear away he was wearing a beanie but maybe a lot so I m sorry I didn t get his name)to the moment I got on the plane. I didn t get the names but it was the first time I ve traveled since I became disabled, I needed a wheelchair and the gentleman who helped me get to my gate and everything with that was phenomenal. (He is definitely some one who has been doing this forever and did it well he seemed to work mornings if anyone knows who I m talking about) he cared for me so efficiently that I knew I was going to get on my plane and I didn t have to worry about a thing. Going through security not being able to walk also scared me but I had a woman just pat me down and check everything but I didn t have to actually stand up. People were gawking but I could care less as long as I didn t fall on my face trying to walk or stand through the security line.. She was so nice to me and I ve definitely never had that before. I do not care about any other reviews Midway is a tight knit family among certain people and I felt safe, cared for and secure throughout the whole process and I doubt many others could ever say that about an airport.

If any one knows who I m talking about please please tell them thank you a million times from a scared and anxious flyer!!!

This airport is a nice alternative to O'Hare. Southwest does a great job here. Cleaner than most urban airports with a nice variety of foods and small shops. My preferred airport for Chicago.

I flew in from Toronto and it is conveniently served by Porter Airlines. The Orange Line connects with downtown Chicago, which makes it easy and affordable to get into the city after arriving. Be prepared for a long wait at the transit station though to get your tickets for the metro, the machines take a while.

I'm well aware cancellations and delays happen, but I'm here for an additionally 5 hours now, and Midway charges for WiFi. That is absurd! They give you 30 free minutes of Internet before you have to pay.

Way better than Ohare. I always speed thru and it's a clean airport. Doesn't smell. It's small so you can't get lost in it. If you book a first flight or last flight you'll speed thru in a jiffy. If you book a flight between 2 and 5, then YES YOU WILL BE IN A LONG SECURITY line. But that's anywhere. Just wake up early and take that first flight.

My daughter flies Southwest as a UM and as such has to pre-board. Even getting in the security check line an hour and a half before her flight boards doesn't guarantee us actually making the flight. The last couple of times I was getting frantic and asked if we could be expedited through security as she CANNOT miss her flight. TSA security has been very accommodating (thank goodness) and they have gotten us through the mess with little fuss. I still don't understand why a UM can't go through the TSA pre-check line. I have to pay quite a bit extra for her ticket, you would think they would put her as a pre-check since she is already a priority passenger. Go figure.

One of the better SouthWest hubs. Plenty to do while you're waiting to fly out or there for a layover. There's lots of sit-down restaurants and a small selection food court, but if you're looking for fast food or easily portable you are stuck grabbing one of the sandwiches from a bookstore cooler. Not the worst (?) thing that could happen but not the best either. Lots of places to charge electronics while sitting down. Special note for New Englanders- the 'good' Dunkin Donuts is inside a bookstore, you don't have to settle for the unmaintained self serve station!

This airport made my first flight experience horrible. As it was my first time flying no instructions are given on how to proceed through the security check in. I followed my brother (I'm a minor) up to the first check in where the TSA agent stamps your boarding pass and checks your ID and was rudely yelled at to stand back until he called me forward. I followed his instructions and stood there, embarrassed, for about 15 seconds until he called me forward. As I waited in line to go through the actual security part, I was pretty close to it being my turn to go through when the X-ray scanner machine for the line next to me stopped working. An airport staff member removed the rope dividing our lines and merged their entire line into ours without any instruction so it was basically a free for all and I was pushed back as they let a group with about 20 people skip in front of me. After waiting in a this, a staff member then came and took a group of us through a hallway to another machine because the original one I was at became too congested after they merged the two lines together. I'm not sure if this airport was just having a bad day or what but it sure did leave a horrible taste in my mouth after this experience.

This review is specifically about the incident that occurred upon landing at Chicago Midway International Airport.
We arrived right on time, but very shortly after landing, our pilot indicated that our gate was occupied by another plane. Usually in the past when this has happened at other airports, they just assign us another gate and off we go. Not at Midway!
Mind you, there are people on the plane who have connections, connections leaving within an hour of our expected on time arrival to the gate.
Instead we were told to sit out on the runway until they gave us clearance to go to the gate. We sat there for 45 minutes before being allowed to go to a gate. The pilot told us other planes were in the same boat.
What kind of screwed up, crazy situation is this???? If you are allotting for the number of departures and arrivals and your schedule, this situation should never occur.
At O'Hare International Airport, I would expect this would be an issue, but not at Midway.
In reality, this just shows me a lack of care for the passengers and their schedules. This should be reviewed and resolved.

Since I will be back in the airport in a day, I will review the other aspects of the airport and hopefully that will indicate a better review.

I am here to pick up my daughter, an unaccompanied minor. All I need is an escort pass. Why am I required to wait in the same line as those checking luggage??? There should be some revisions made so that those just requiring an escort pass can get through more quickly. How is this even still an issue? Seperate the lines please....Thank you!!!

If a different airport a little confusing the layout for the restaurants and gift shops are okay but as far as the TSA there I'm not sure if there are strict and going by the book which is good or if they don't know the update information I dunno what other tests as they never have me go through things that I went through at this place such as my CPAP machine other airports that I went to Raleigh Phoenix Vegas Utah they all told me just put it in a bag and send it through even Nashville here I didn't know so very kind of like coming down on mini light why did you take it out because of the other airports they told me not to take it out you're the very first one that tells me I need to take it out so they're coming down on me like I'm the one in the wrong so I'm not sure who's right who's wrong the process there it seems like they're a little behind because I've been in other busy airports and things running very smoothly to keep people moving here too many people were talking and not handling their job and business so I was a bit cautious definitely get there early because they're not as efficient as I should be

The whole place is confusing and laid out wrong. It took us 30 minutes after coming off the flight to find the rental shuttle, and even then there were very few signs to go to it. We ended up getting lost three times and almost went into TSA again. On that note, TSA lines are abysmal. I'd reccomend coming in at least three hours before your flight if it's on a weekend, and two hours before if it's on a weekday. However, I have to commend them for their choices in food, even though we didn't eat anything there.

Overall: 34/50
Getting boarding passes: easy. 8/10
TSA lines: Abysmally long 2/10
Places to eat: large variety 9/10
Flight delays: all from weather. 9/10
Takeoff/landing: a little rough 6/10

It had been about 10 years since I last went here. It is much better than it used to be. This is a decent airport these days. I never have had to wait too long in security lines and they have a decent selection of places to eat/shop.

Not the best airport in the country but much improved.

I just want to say to Mick (the bigot who left that post about "spooks") that it is people like you that get bad service because you are obviously a racist moron. If you find the need to mention that the employees are what you call "spooks" online after your trip was over you obviously had the same demeanor when you were there. You should try talking to people with respect and dignity and you would get your wanted response. I'm willing to bet my life on the fact that you would not even spell "spook" in front of those employees. Honestly, I bet you wouldn't even own up to writing your comment in front of them. Them being black or white have nothing to do with you getting bad service, I'd be willing ot bet that you got bad service for being yourself, an incompetent moron - as you so eloquently described them.

I really like flying through and to this airport. Great selection of food, places to charge electronics, easy rental car pickup and return, and much less hectic than flying through O'Hare. I always fly Southwest, so this is the Chicago airport for me.

Small waiting areas and bathrooms. They should really add more stalls. Every time I have a layover here, there's line out of the entrance to at least 3 women's restrooms in the terminal. Continue walking...and you'll find another line. Ridiculous.

This is the airport I fly into when working in the Chicago area. It is a Southwest airlines hub so this definety keeps this airport hopping. The rental car center is conveniently located and easy to get to. Inside the airport, it is loaded with memorabilia and you will miss your flight if you try to take it all in. There is plenty of stores and restaurants located inside and dont go home without some popcorn from "Nuts on Clark"...if I travel here, my wife doesn't say anything, but I she really enjoys when i bring home that caramel corn. Not a whole lot of seating at the gates, but there are food and drink stations across the aisle. I really like this airport.

There s no way I ll be flying out of here in awhile. So, I was here to pick up my sister who was flying home from Los Angeles and I decided to surprise her by waiting near the security checkpoint when she walked out. Then, this lady in a green vest came up to me and said is your Mom here? And I responded with no, my Dad. Then, she responded with you should go down with him, an airport is not a safe place for you. Then, I responded with I m 18! She walked away after that and called back up. Two more ladies in green vests showed up and were yelling at me you can t be up here go down the elevator now! and it was absolutely ridiculous. I wasn t blocking anybody, or nothing, I wasn t even that close to the TSA line, I was just standing by the elevators on the second floor. Every other airport I ve been to where I was waiting for a loved one to get off didn t care if I was standing right next to the security checkpoint for waiting someone to get off a plane. There s no way I m coming here until this issue is fix because Midway is a public airport and I can stand wherever I want. Also, their restaurant selection is now horrible and I m gonna stick to other airports until Midway decides to better train their employees. You can t even stand anymore without being yelled at it s very sad.

$75MM concessions renovation? I flew through MDW for the first time in 6 months and was shocked to see all the old standby's gone. Need a quick breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee during an early morning connect? You can forget about McDonald's. Want a good sandwich rather than a burger from McD's? You won't be going to Potbelly. Instead you can choose from the 'gourmet' restaurants in the still-overcrowded food corral and pay at least $9 for a small serving of subpar food. Great decision Rahm Immanuel. Can't wait to see what other 'improvements' you have in mind for this airport. Did anyone bother to ask the frequent flyers that keep this airport in business what they think? Looks like I'll be a more frequent BWI customer going forward.

The keyas to print your boarding passes etc. More than half were out of service this morning. The waiting and atmosphere in the front was not positive. Quite a few people missed boarding d/t the issue with the keyas. The southwest bag check in attendant was in a foul mood. It really needs organizing in the front. When you reach through security etc it is better. It was as clean as you could possibly get an airport. There was a variety of diners. Access to charging stations. The drawback no sofa to catch quick cat nap. If you were delayed etc.

Literally just walked around for thirty minutes at the Midway Airport looking for food. Apparently they kicked out Potbelly and all the good restaurants for some vending conglomerate. Your crappy food and high pricing make me never want to come through Midway again. Which I currently do about 20-30 times a year. St. Louis is my new connection choice until you figure out how stupid this is.

Why did you this you needed to make changes to the airport food!!!??? Independent businesses have fairer market based pricing.

Today this morning at around 6-6:10am I was dropping my friend going to San Antonio in my 2013 Chevy Malibu LT and this other Chevy Malibu LTZ back up and rammed up into my bumper. I honked several time he went out and went back in quickly because a very rude TSA said there s no damage go go go. So he sped up and ran away. I have his license plate number though but he did damage me causing scratches and cracks and ajared my hood. I need to be compensated for this someway shape or form.

A very efficient airport which is very easy to navigate.

Right from the time you enter Midway everything seems very easy. The lines are rarely long to go through security and once you're in, you're good. You don't need to take a tram/train/bus to go to terminals because they are all connected and easy to find.

It is very easy to get to from car, cab and especially the Orange Line. I try to go through Midway over O'Hare whenever possible.

There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops as you wait for your flight.
