I love art and this museum has all kinds of it. So much to see and awesome that it's free on Thursdays. Fun time to see all they have to offer and staff is really friendly and informative.

One of my favorite museums in Houston. They re doing a lot of construction around the area, so it will probably look even nicer soon! With a membership you get free admission for the year and free tickets to exhibitions too, definitely worth the money even if you just go twice. Today we saw the bamboo exhibit and the India Jodhpur exhibit, must visit!

Nice

Wow! I took my teenager here and we both loved it! They have so many classical pieces as well as Jackson Pollock, Picasso, Georgia O'Keefe, Matisse, Mary Casat, and so many more! These are my people!!!! I absolutely loved it. Such an impressive collection. And there is so much that it is in 3 buildings. It's easy to get to each with the underground tunnels. I will definitely be going again. I highly recommend. It's a shame not to see the amazing art right here in Houston (especially if you live in the area). There's just something special about standing next to masterpieces...

I went here on Saturning afternoon right after lunch time. It was empty during that time, but eventually started getting crowded. (Not too crowded though, which was good.)

I completely underestimated the colossal and immense scale of this museum. There are like two buildings that are connected with a tunnel with colorful lightning and each structure is three levels. Dozens of exhibit rooms and I almost got lost few times.

I think I spent several hours, at least 3~4hours to see the basic fundamental art, sculptures, and creations that I wanted to see, but this is going to take multiple visits if you really want to see everything.

I really enjoyed the several gold galleries or gold collections and I was always interested in bitcoin, the currency and gold. It helped me understand how gold was a global status symbol for multiple cultures throughout the world and how it was associated with wealth, youth (immortality), Gods, etc.

I also enjoyed the Treasuries of Spain section where I had to pay $4 more, but enjoyed it and picked up myself few gift items at the shop..

A world class museum

A world class museum
Exhibitions bringing everything from impressionists to royal portraits of Great Britain. You will want to see again and again. A permanent collection that is outstanding . A campus which is expanding and impressive. Events such as mixed media, which combines music cocktails and art. Concerts regular gallery talks.

By far the best and most diverse collection in Houston, and for that matter all of Texas. It's Impressionist and Renaissance art collections are impressive. The staff are helpful and the docents keep to themselves. It takes multiple trips to even scrape the top of the museum's permanent collection. The visiting exhibitions and collections are always interesting!

The wifey and I checked out the Van Gogh exhibit most recently. It was a hit! I wish they had more originals, and less replications. I imagine they did their best and it was more than good enough.
The interactive portion was fun for everything as well!
MFAH has been and will continue to be my go to for art museums in Houston.
I feel like I ve been through the tunnel more than the average bear for sure!

We really enjoyed the Van Gogh exhibit. There was a line to get in- we waited about an hour- but its to be expected on a sunday afternoon. Parking was easy with a tunnel from the garage on Binz to the museum. Nice attendants checking on people in line and available for questions. World class exhibit- Thank you MFAH.

Well I figure the arts to be political driven hipsters and while yes they are there they usually not in the classical or romantic parts of the exhibits Wich gives you time to admire the views without worry there going to comment or attack you for your maga hat

Line for the Van Gogh exhibit was long, and was unable to upgrade to a premium ticket because I was getting General Admission via City Pass. However, all exhibits were well put-together and there was a great variety

- Admission is a reasonable $19 per adult, available on-site. I m forgetting children s admission prices and others.

- In order to safely remain open in light of COVID-19, all visitors will have their temperature checked prior to entering the museum. Face masks and social distancing are required. The temperature screening process is very straightforward and quick, and I found myself within the gallery areas in no time.

I love the different displays and genres. The gift shop is pretty cool too. Expensive but cool. If you go on Thursday admission is free. It excludes special exhibits, but it's free, in Houston, and the basic exhibits are very nice. Also, they have an art school upstairs. I hear it's very good.

Although slightly overpriced, the museum of fine arts houston is one of the best in the country. Check out the The Cloud Column across the street for a unique sculpture. In the summer there are plenty of parties with very unique exhibitions.
