A beautiful museum with unique displays. There was plenty to keep me interested for hours. I know digital art is here to stay-I don't get it as "fine" art. My opinion.
I would say this is a must on a visit to Houston. I was visiting a friend a MD Anderson. The concierge had coupons for free admission. Check your hotel or hospital if you're visiting.
Parking at this museum is 2 almost 3 blocks away. I'm mobility challenged. On a 90+ day, those blocks were tough. No handicap parking closer. Street parking is 2 blocks away (all full).

Exceptional museum. Lots of rotating exhibits so there is something new during each visit. Free admission on Thursdays. Check out the art and artifacts of Islamic Lands, Korea, Japan and India.

The museum is so extensive you could get lost in there for hours, floating between the exhibits and their permanent installations. Great for art lovers or just some extensive culture in there regional exhibits from all over the globe.

This was my first visit to the museum. I really enjoyed seeing the Picasso paintings, but the openness of the rooms makes it easy and comfortable to stroll through and take your time studying your favorites or simply enjoy the arts on a relaxing day. I will return again if in the Houston area.

I went on a Thursday night and I had a great time. There are many interesting paintings and sculptures to see while you walk around. Make sure that you come early because finding a parking spot can be a little tricky. I would recommend this anyone.

Great place. Went here for the film fest. The event was great and was informational and interesting. I saw a documentary called "Saving Brinton" which was based in saving the Brinton films, the oldest theatre in the world, and much more. The restrooms in the museum are clean, and some of the art inside is quite interesting. The modern art across the park was very nice to eat lunch in, as well as the innovative design of the building. Great place to visit in our free time.

It's a great museum with a convenient location and lots of acreage for world class exhibits. There's quite a lot of construction in the area and traffic might get bothersome at times. So plan ahead

I was spoiled living in Chicago and New York and the access those two cities afforded to public and private art, but the MFAH is an anchor tenant to the Museum District here in Houston for a reason. The museum has benefited from the oil boom with an impressive collection from around the world from many of Houston's leading families in addition to collections from countries in the mid-east of historical art. And recently the traveling exhibits have really been top-notch, experiences my kids are old enough to enjoy: Kusama, Art Deco Cars and Motorcyles and Van Gogh.

Do not pay to see the light exhibition. It's literally a small room with Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling. They also project visuals but those are not impressive at all. Amateur at best.

Visited yesterday after being many years ago. General Admission in my opinion is limited and the where the old parking lot was something is being built ( I think a garage) so be prepared to find parking elsewhere. MFAH is still a great museum.

My first time there today. The museum itself is interesting, but some of the staff is rude/snotty. Just because you work in an art museum, that doesn't make you better than others. And it seriously doesn't give you class. My family has memberships to: Houston Zoo, Moody Gardens and the Science Museum. Although I like the Museum of Fine Arts and thought it was interesting, we will NOT be getting their membership do to their snotty employees. Although there were a few good, courteous employees, the snotty ones ruined it for me. Not worth it.

The art museum had some very beautiful exhibits. The bamboo peice was amazing. Eye really liked the fact that it was interactive you could add to it and even walk the bridge. The reason eyem giving three stars is because they got rid of Cafe Express and there's a racist undertone.
