It is always good to feed our culture, specifically it caught the attention of the Mexican muralists, among them for me the most important, David Alfaro Siqueiros and of course Diego Rivera

A jem of Houston! Great collections, knowledgeable staff, and free Thursdays. Parking is not as great but OK. Cafeteria is surprisingly good. Highly recommended if you have time and interested in the exhibitions/collections.

This review is mainly for the sculpture garden across the street from the museum. The sculptures are exquisite. I recommend this for anyone. It is free and beautiful. There is also the Cloud Column that is quite a sight. It is from the same sculptor as the Bean in Chicago.

I usually don't enjoy art museums but this one was so interesting. I was sort of sad that they didn't have the light exhibits that I REALLY wanted to see. But the ones they had were still interesting

Maria Ong, I don't think they give student discounts but they do (or did when I was in college) let you in for free if you came in with a drawing pad and tell them you were there for Art class. Or just go on Thursday when it's free (if it still is- about to find out in a bit. Lol)

Nice place to spend an afternoon. Displays a wide range of artistic artifacts from different time periods, including a few pieces by famous artists such as Picasso and Monet. The building's architecture is also a sight in itself. Temporary exhibits are always interesting.

Went during the Van Gogh exhibit because my school had a reservation, that was made three months prior. Everyone was told that we could see the permanent exhibit but we had to pay to see the Van Gogh exhibit because they couldn't find our reservation. Also got stuck in an elevator for like five minutes.

Great museum, it is convenient to purchase the year pass as is a little more than one visit ticket and you can go for one year as it has great exhibitions changing constantly. Main collection is impressive! Also it has art curated movies and different events.

Great psrt of Houston's Museum District. So many beautiful works of art, and many from artists that I didn't think a city like Houston would have. Their permanent collection is great and they also have great and unique special exhibits as well. Could easily spend the day here. Dont forget their outdoor sculpture garden as well.

Excellent museum. It's huge, and has an excellent selection of art from a wide array of schools and eras. The rotating exhibits are often top notch, as well.

We've got an annual membership, which is really reasonable if you go just a few times over the course of the year. But, there are also many ways to get in free, just poke around on the website and see if any apply to you.

Highly recommend visiting the Van Gogh exhibit while in Houston! What an opportunity to see so many amazing pieces by a legacy. The rest of museum is beautiful too. It is so amazing to see art from all over the world, not just the West.

Excellent place to enjoy good works of art. There are days when access is completely free. Wide gallery of paintings and rooms where sculptures are displayed. You can also enjoy works of art by famous painters like Van Gogh!

Check out the Home - So Different, So Appealing exhibit before it ends on January 21, 2018. Very well done with some very thought provoking pieces and powerful stories. Makes you pause and think of what makes a home, what life is like for the many without, and how striving for a home changes you. Make sure to see the piece of a sliver of a home, the piece made of clay, and the conversation between father and son in their different homes.

Fun

Great time checking out all the exhinits you can pack. Van Gogh is a favorite of mines and it reminded me a but of the one in Amsterdam as some of the works from that museum was brought in and the design language was teanslated well here in Houston

Great collection, particularly European Renaissance and Impressionism... Nice special exhibits, great antiquities. I have visited 9 major art museums in the U.S. Since July so my wife and I really loved our weekend in Houston. The security guards are not friendly, try to intimidate many of the visitors and clearly don't like what they are doing - polar opposite experiences at Memorial Art in Rochestor, Blanton, McKay, Chicao Art Institute and Crocker to name a few - the Houston Fine arts crew were hostile.

Fabulous Fashion Show and Supporr for the HCC Fashion and Arts Department. It was really great to see that the featured students for this show was an older generation. It is so inspiring to see those past a certain age pursuing their passion and their careers and HCC giving them the platform and the opportunity to pursue that it's absolutely amazing. older Awesome

Has got a varied set of art to look at. The van gogh exhibition was good, but could have been arranged a lot better as a lot of his work changed with time. Cafeteria is good and people are very helpful.

Really nice. It took us almost 4 hours to go through it all, which is a great and detailed museum without going through the additional exhibits.

You need an easy 2 hours to go through the levels and both buildings.

Verry good.
