I've gone a handful of times now, mostly just to see the exhibits. Saw the royals exhibit and the Van Gogh exhibit, and stuff a few years ago. Impressive collections and worth a visit, whether you're from here or just visiting. Lines can be long for exhibits, especially on Saturdays.

Get a membership, it's definitely worth it! Saw Loving Vincent here though and have to say it was a little weird. They oversold the theater (or maybe people were hoarding seats?) so some people had to stand or sit on the floor in the back and no remedy was offered other than one person having to sit on a camp style stool.

I am a fan of their Iranian, Turkish and Latin Wave film festivals. It is also one of those few places in Houston where you can see movies that will never be shown in the commercial circuit. They also have outstanding seasonal art exhibitions.

Remarkably ambitious and sprawling art museum. One of the best in the country, so a great addition for Houston. It has a long history and works to modernize its practice, though still can be described as a traditional art museum featuring mostly known, canonized artists. It s undergoing an historic capital improvement program that will add enormous square footage of exhibition and program space.

A fun activity to do around town. Admission to the museum are free every Thursday. I have been here a few times for school and on my own. They have wide selection of artwork on display and it is always changing. There are also special exhibits for a limited amount of time.

Definitely recommend if you have a guest out-of-town who loves art. The museum is quiet and relaxing. You can spend a good 30 minute to an hour here. In addition, this area is filled with other activities you can do to explore downtown Houston and everything is within walking distance.

I went to visit during memorial day and to my surprise there was a lot of people. I was still able to enjoy the art expo around the museum. The staff is so nice and are solely there to aid the costumers and of course to make sure the art is well taking care of. It was such amazing day at the museum;).

Had a terrific time seeing the Van Gogh exhibit with my Church family. Plan on visiting more often, it was to much to see with the time we had. Ate a nice lunch in the cafeteria downstairs. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and knowledgeable about the exhibits.

This is included in the City pass! So if you are in Houston for more than one day make sure to get the city pass! It is 100 percent worth the money! We had an amazing time at the Museum of Fine Arts! Thank you!

Incredible place, the paintings of the classic style are impressive (and I'm not an art lover ... or it was not).
The Egyptian pieces for me are stunning, amazing.
I only toured a 5th or 4th part, the place is immense.
Widely recommended!

I love this museum! Great guest service and friendly staff. My one criticism is not with the museum but with some of the patrons. I'm all for bringing age appropriate children to see fine art. Its a great way to start a loving appreciation for artwork. However, strollers and other pushing devices are cumbersome and get in the way. I think most children under the age of 8 are probably too young. Yes, some of your children are geniuses, I get it. But nothing is more distracting than having an unsupervised child running through exhibits and cutting you off from seeing the art work. And when it cost $50 to get in that is very irritating to not be able to see the exhibits.

Wonderful place to visit. At the time I went with my niece's and the Oscar De La Renta exhibit was happening and really set a fashionable atmosphere. The Museum itself is filled with beauty and history that needs to be seen and experienced. Well worth going! We'll be going back!!

Dali Van Picasso (3 words) 1 sentence: This place is magnificent.

Go now. There are tons of coupons to go there free and parking is cheap or free around the corners so why wait now? Every time I come here I am awed by the amount of learning one can absorb in their time here. I am always so immersed into these things I always check out the most interesting paintings and sculptures of the bunch and find out more about them. Of course I do not leave out the rest and a quick Wiki search and I am graced with more information than I can handle (imagine having to absorb over 100 articles in a short period of time). This place just lets my mind flow freely and puts me into the shoes of those that gave us these pieces of art.

It's a beautiful campus. Parking is always easy, for me. The exhibits are intriguing. The permanent collection always surprises me. I see and feel something different each visit. The new Glassell School of Art building is stunning and we a have bean!

Really good place, finding parking might be tricky though. The Museum has several buildings, but we were able to visit only one ( dunno, maybe it s because of COVID-19 era we are currently in). The collection is really impressive, spacious halls and really friendly staff. The thing that absolutely blew my mind is that they have some stuff from ancient Egypt that is like 3-4 thousands years old.
Want to get back and explore this place some more!

Nice!

This is a perfect place to plan a weekend day on (esp if it's hot outside) if the normal run of the mill activities get boring. Lots of cool exhibits and the staff is incredibly helpful in showing you around!

Great contemporary museum, paintings artifacts and other artist renderings and media on display. Thursdays you can come in for free (you can give a voluntary donation to support the museum. ) If you have some down time come check it out, limited parking across the way. Food trucks park in parking across the way, enjoy your lunch along side art sculptures in the garden across the street.

We had our school field trip here and had a great time admiring the art. A friend of ours knew all the trivia and made the trip so worthwhile. Definitely a stop if you're a tourist who appreciates art. A Metro Rail ride away from the downtown underground food court!
