The Brown Foundation, Inc. Plaza is excellent place to go for family.
Very big didn t finish it all in one day , free on Thursdays?
The updated newly renovated grounds behind the museum is one of the nicest new attractions in Houston. Start by viewing the ring that seems to be the same artist who did the bean in Chicago. There is a mini amphitheater that has steps leading to a breathtaking view of Houston downtown cityscape plus the medical center. This is a must see but wait, there's more. See it at night for a totally different experience. Great work Team. Boom
Awesome spot never was into stuff like this would visit again..
Your to close ma, you can't drink water in here ma unless it for the baby
Nice fun place to take the children n learning experiance for the whole family
It was amazing I not only saw great art but I was also able to geocache while I was here!
This museum is large, I didn't get through it all but I saw a lot of cultures represented in art. From Egyptian and middle eastern to oriental, Indian and European. Spacious and absorbing. I was enthralled by the meticulous maintenance of the place. It was an amazing experience.
We saw a great Impressionist exhibit, and also a Norman Rockwell exhibit. The museum has expanded since my last visit.
Restful and thoughtful stop on a getaway to Houston. The impressionist gallery is thorough and one of the best I've seen!
One of my Favorite things to do with family in the city
Love MFAH. Getting a membership is a good deal. If you're interested in any special exhibits and go even just twice a year you earn your money back. Temporary and permanent exhibits are very well curated.
When I was a kid came here all the time and still love seeing the amazing exhibits curators put together today!
Enough can t be said and enough can t be seen in this wonderful treasure of a place in the heart of Houston.
A rich collection of art work exhibited with so much details, oozing information and knowledge. Enticing artists, historians, architects, and exhibitors alike.
Very enjoyable, didn't realise there were so many great artists' work here; Rodin, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Monet, Dali, Picasso...spent 2 hours here easily.
What an excellent museum. I had a wonderful 4 hours walking art my own pace. Got to see everything I wanted with tune to spare. A great variety of paintings that are kept guarded by the staff. There is a monitor constantly eyeballing you from room to room. Some were kinder than others, yet they let you study the paintings as much as you'd like! One guards even its underground in the trippy tunnel.
Photography was allowed everywhere minus certain exhibit rooms (always the room where the koran is) and an impressionist show that was being featured.
They had some massive romantic era paintings arranged in a huge room which really highlighted the paintings and gave them the respect they deserve.
Lots of amazing busts too! All around inspirational museum with 2 free parking areas on main street.
If you have the time, go. You will not regret it. Check out the free admission deals too on their site. Lots of ways to get in free. One way is to eat at their cafe and get in free!
Great array of modern and classical arts. Sculptures, paintings and carvings are beautiful
British Royal Fam,,exhibition going on. Cafe served , good, food but a little pricey!! Good experience ( not interesting for kids, though)
A great day spent with my daughter for my birthday. So special
Beautiful artwork and always something new to discover.
Everything you would expect from an Art Museum. Cafe is very good.
There are exhibits for all tastes and plenty to see and do.
Long lines but lovely exhibits. Being a member expedites the standing in lines exponentially
Large collection, self guided but seems understaffed
Beautiful area of downtown Houston, big oak trees surround the sidewalks. The buildings are very nice, clean and spacious. There are fantastic exhibits here which are on display for two or three months at a time. My only critique is price. It's a little high in my opinion, especially if you're bringing kids along.
Impressive antiquities collection and lovely impressionists collection! I could have stayed much longer.
Very good museum. The paintings section is especially good.
Went here during college night. It is not exclusive to college students on this night just fyi. EVERY thursday they have free admission.
Make sure to get a map at the front desk. It can get pretty confusing. and absolutely go through the tunnel on the basement level to cross the street and get to the second building. Their selection on modern art is limited, but i absolutely love the ancient artifacts they have of different civilization.
One of the most beautiful museums
It consists of several floors and each floor has several sections
Very organized and beautiful
You must visit from the time of Badri with your children so you can see it all and take your comfort
You really like it
Beautiful space, very good collection, and interesting traveling exhibits. Great film series.
Parking isn't the greatest and the long term displays don't change much but the exhibits will have you on your feet for hours with plenty to look at.
Oh my goodness I absolutely loved loved this Museum I had a art appreciation project to do and I wasn't able to spend as much time there as I wanted but there is so much art that I did not get to see and I will definitely be going back
All forms of art in a single museum, yet it's hard to tell the difference.
Talking about the van Gogh exhibit it was AMAZING! As a plus they offer you audioguides that are so helpful. The thing that I like the most was the chronological sequence of the exhibit in which you can clearly see the progression of the artist.
Always has evocative, intelligent exhibits and a great permanent collection
Great museum, great collections, great seasonal exhibits. The only problem is that parking is awful. Completely awful.
Exhibits are amazing. International art is very beautiful
Amazing place, 6 floors and a cafe inside. So many exhibits to see so little time. I'd recommend 3 hours at least or more to actually get the information from.the art peices. Beautiful place!
Free on Thursday. Cold AC and fantastic exhibits. Great time to use your money for an added attraction.
Great exhibits. They offer free admission on Thursdays. The cafe had wine which is a nice touch.
If I only had enough time to see everything. Stunning.
The fashion exhibit was everything! I have not been to the Museum of fine arts Houston since I was old enough to appreciate it. Visiting again as an adult, I have a true appreciation for the art.
Very good museum. Excellent permanent collection and great regular guest exhibitions. If you have a family it is much smarter to get a yearly membership than pay for a single visit.
Decent art museum, exhibitions have been okay but not great.
Wow, so many building so many floors. Bring your walking shoes. Something for everyone.
The art was amazing. Free entrance with classwork that was required. Staff was friendly and place was well maintained.
It's not possible to see everything in one day. Excellent exhibits.
