The updated newly renovated grounds behind the museum is one of the nicest new attractions in Houston. Start by viewing the ring that seems to be the same artist who did the bean in Chicago. There is a mini amphitheater that has steps leading to a breathtaking view of Houston downtown cityscape plus the medical center. This is a must see but wait, there's more. See it at night for a totally different experience. Great work Team. Boom

This museum is large, I didn't get through it all but I saw a lot of cultures represented in art. From Egyptian and middle eastern to oriental, Indian and European. Spacious and absorbing. I was enthralled by the meticulous maintenance of the place. It was an amazing experience.

Love MFAH. Getting a membership is a good deal. If you're interested in any special exhibits and go even just twice a year you earn your money back. Temporary and permanent exhibits are very well curated.

A rich collection of art work exhibited with so much details, oozing information and knowledge. Enticing artists, historians, architects, and exhibitors alike.

What an excellent museum. I had a wonderful 4 hours walking art my own pace. Got to see everything I wanted with tune to spare. A great variety of paintings that are kept guarded by the staff. There is a monitor constantly eyeballing you from room to room. Some were kinder than others, yet they let you study the paintings as much as you'd like! One guards even its underground in the trippy tunnel.

Photography was allowed everywhere minus certain exhibit rooms (always the room where the koran is) and an impressionist show that was being featured.

They had some massive romantic era paintings arranged in a huge room which really highlighted the paintings and gave them the respect they deserve.

Lots of amazing busts too! All around inspirational museum with 2 free parking areas on main street.

If you have the time, go. You will not regret it. Check out the free admission deals too on their site. Lots of ways to get in free. One way is to eat at their cafe and get in free!

Beautiful area of downtown Houston, big oak trees surround the sidewalks. The buildings are very nice, clean and spacious. There are fantastic exhibits here which are on display for two or three months at a time. My only critique is price. It's a little high in my opinion, especially if you're bringing kids along.

Went here during college night. It is not exclusive to college students on this night just fyi. EVERY thursday they have free admission.
Make sure to get a map at the front desk. It can get pretty confusing. and absolutely go through the tunnel on the basement level to cross the street and get to the second building. Their selection on modern art is limited, but i absolutely love the ancient artifacts they have of different civilization.

Talking about the van Gogh exhibit it was AMAZING! As a plus they offer you audioguides that are so helpful. The thing that I like the most was the chronological sequence of the exhibit in which you can clearly see the progression of the artist.

The fashion exhibit was everything! I have not been to the Museum of fine arts Houston since I was old enough to appreciate it. Visiting again as an adult, I have a true appreciation for the art.
