Beautiful area of downtown Houston, big oak trees surround the sidewalks. The buildings are very nice, clean and spacious. There are fantastic exhibits here which are on display for two or three months at a time. My only critique is price. It's a little high in my opinion, especially if you're bringing kids along.
I always come away feeling inspired. It's a great museum!

Just when you think your kids have lost the will to interact with the rest of humanity, you find out they LOVE the museum!
Wonderful place to go. Parking was a bit difficult due to construction going on around the museum.
MFAH always has great exhibits whether you are here for a special exhibit or seeing the permanent collection.

I was ecstatic to see Vangough's work and hands on experience the museum provided. He is my favorite artist so I was in Art Heaven. I also enjoyed many other artists I grew up reading about in the history books in college. The museum was spectacular. The $20 entrance fee was well worth it.

This is a nice museum in the Museum District of Houston, and the staff and security guards were friendly and well-informed. I saw the Van Gogh exhibit on display, which, unsurprisingly, was extremely crowded (we waited in line about an hour to get into the museum) but lovely all the same. The rest of the museum was delightfully empty, probably due to the crowd being at the Van Gogh exhibit, and I enjoyed it more because of this.
New experience, must visit at least once. Beautiful sights.

This museum is huge.. so much to look at..I'm glad i started in the van gogh exhibit
.. my only complaint was the placement of the listing boxes (these little players that you have to guide you.. the boxes were on the wall alot of time next to the painting.. ) they were always blocked by people.. nothing to indicate they were even there ( lots of time I had to go back after walking away to discover I've issued it.. (hint make then suspended from the ceiling )..other wise all were beautiful
Becoming a world-class museum. One of the great gems of Houston and Texas. MFAH brings many cultures' art, not merely European and Anglo American. Of course, the District can keep us busy for days.
I absolutely loved my experience here , I went on a thursday and luckily got a free ticket for me and the family , the exhibits were splendid and it was about crowded but I expected as much for the free tickets but aside from that the staff was friendly and I overall enjoyed my day there
The Museum of Fine Arts was so lovely. There is a great selection of vintage art, modern art, paintings, sculptures, and more. It was a little difficult to navigate with a baby stroller , though they do have elevators. Houston is an amazingly diverse city. If you're visiting you don't want to miss the Museum District! Come see how wonderful it is.
I love this place and visit every so often, especially when there's new interesting exhibits. Definitely come here if you're into art or are in the area and have a few hours to spare.
Great place. Very accessible, kid friendly. I drive from Austin to visit. My 7 and 9 year old kids love it. Staff are very friendly.
It's always so perfect, from the choice of collections to the bathrooms. But the food is Bland.
If you love Art, you'll really enjoy this place. Also, its free on Thursdays!
Had a great time at the MALCO exhibit, but I do wish museums would refrain from using the one Frida Khalo painting in exhibits as their logo.
The Tudors exhibit was fascinating with its family tree history and stories along with the beautiful paintings. Gave you an excellent perspective on the English queens.

I can tell you I've visit this museum 3 times this month! The movies they have are great and just checking out their collections is always a great reminder that everyone has a different eye-life window that we can all appreciate.

Bring your walking shoes. Mfah is Maine, a world class art museum, with representation of most of the major art periods, from ancient to pre modern. Worth the price of entry.

Excellent museum with very good works of art. A tip is to go on Thursdays, both admission and parking are free and the museum is open until 9 PM giving time to tour it.
Wonderful artwork in a tranquil setting makes it truly fantastical to view each piece of art whether it be a painting, sculpture, or something else.

I was doing a project for my English class. And this museum helped me a lot in providing information, and details about arts and history.
Went to the van Gough exhibit. Like a lot of the traveling exhibits, it had lots of less famous bit really cool stuff that I had never seen. Like the museum. Remember that it has two buildings.
Quite the museum. They have all kinds of art from different periods and locations.
The Van Gogh exhibit was a little crowded but the service was amazing. Anytime we asked someone who worked at the museum a question we where greeted with a smile. I do wish they had not closed the van Gogh inspired fashion exhibit before the full exhibit but aside from the special exhibits the permanent collection was wonderful.
I always have a wonderful visit when I go to MFAH. The exhibits are vivid, interesting, and educational. Employees are friendly and helpful. The only critique that I have at this time is that parking is confusing. However, walking from the garage to the museum was clearly labeled.
This was fun to walk and the amount of stuff to look at was endless.
Spectacular collection's of a wide variety of art, classical to contemporary, photography and sculpture. Live musical performances and movie screenings.
The environment is elegant and the appearance is less conspicuous; this time due to time, you will have the opportunity to go in next time.

I love this place. You need to go here whether your a local, out of towner, or tourist. You can go when it's free, on Thursday, but please consider going any other day so you can contribute some cash money to art.
It is very nice there, for those who do not know on Thursdays after 2pm the entrance is free.
I've been visiting this Museum for almost two decades and it never fails to excite me. Great exhibitions currently on view [Beatriz Gonzalez- Retrospective, An Impressionist Autumn ($$), A Very Private Collection: Monet to Picasso($$), and Norman Rockwell ($$) ]
It s art, darling! Feeling like you need some culture in your life? Think it s too dang humid for outdoor activities in Houston? Want to clear your mind and relax a little? Then this is the place to go! Though there is a caveat to that statement. If you don t want to listen to screaming children not in the mood for some art I suggest going during off times and not on Saturday s. Also if you want to see a popular exhibit (i.e. the Van Gogh exhibit) and take it in but hate people pushing you out of the way to take a cellphone picture and walk away rather than just enjoying the art for the sake of art then peak times are not for you.
So in conclusion, this place is great for some gorgeous art and culture and inspiration. If you don t like screaming children and social media influencers getting in your way AVOID peak times. Thanks and have fun out there.

I like the manager came out to talk with me about my pork allergy. The food looked lovely. But my husband's Caesar salad was floating in salad dressing (he loved his blackened salmon, however). And I found my fish to be delicious, except there was too much sauce all over it. A beautiful fish need not be smothered with sauce. Our server was very sweet.
I absolutely love the Museum of Fine Arts but the Italian display was extremely disappointing it was very miniscule
This was my first visit in a long time. It was a great time. Norman Rockwell's work was on exhibit. It was wonderful to see his work up close and personal literally. There were so many amazing works to see there. I highly recommend a visit.
