Nice location for rock shows with good sound.
The balconies are ideal for a nice view and you can just order drinks with cash and debit cards without having to buy those stupid coins.

The disadvantage is that the Melkweg is located in the middle of Amsterdam, which makes it difficult to park by car unless you have a few tens of euros left for the parking garages.
And the fact that you always have to buy a membership is still a bit of a strange story.
Therefore 4 stars. Furthermore, top for each other as far as I am concerned.

Nice building. Inside there are 3 concert halls ranging from 700 to 1500 people for the capacity. I enjoyed the sound of the concert (knowing that I saw a group of punk ... Sometimes the bass hurt!). Small anecdote: it is necessary to pay 4 euros of membership to the room to attend the concert in addition to the ticket.

First stood in the rain for 45 minutes to come in, where another 15 minutes had to be waited until the coat was hung away. The staff is really nice and works fast, that's certainly not the reason.

The Melkweg has two relatively small but very cozy concert halls. There are two minor drawbacks to the Galaxy, there are actually just not enough lockers making it impossible for some to store belongings. Secondly, I personally find the compulsory subscription a bit nonsense.

30 euro for a highly uninteresting Noah Kahan performance, a freezing concert hall, one beer and having to squeeze your jacket in a tiny locker (that you can't even open in between) is just really not worth the experience !!!

Has two concert halls, a cinema and a cafe. The old hall is actually my favourite concert venue in all of the Netherlands. The size and stage are perfect for intimate gigs in any genre.

I went to a band called AJR. To be honest, I've been waiting to see them since 2016 and I'm so glad that they finally came to the Netherlands...
Just one of my all time favorite bands haha

But that's the thing. Melkweg always brings the artists that haven't become massively popular yet, so the prices are low, but the shows are wayyyy more personal and I honestly enjoy them more than the huge-always-sold-out ones.

Melkweg just has a special place. 3 of my all time favorite artists have performed there so far and I'm just hoping there will be a lot more on the horizon.

The atmosphere is great
the prices are just as good.
Much good live acts.
A must when in Amsterdam!

I have kp if it is forbidden but smoking there dope is not an issue. Have already smoked there with one of the pretty barmaids, so no big deal.

Deduction is only for the membership, which you have to buy additionally.
The prices are ok too.

Great rooms for small concerts. The scanners can use an upgrade at the door .. if you are outside all day and people walk past you because you do not get the tickets scanned it does cause some frustration. Small lockers for 2 euros, may be one euro less. Membership may also be reduced.

Was at the melkweg a few weeks ago and had a blast. You can smoke weed in the smoking room, max 5g at security. Sound system was great for techno tuesday and it was free....free!

I also went to shelter 2 days before after dekmental fez to see marcel dettman and melkweg was a much nicer place to be. We paid 16 euro for the shelter night too.

Great ventilation at melkweg. I was at the front and had nice cold air all night from the fans.

Over the years several concerts have been seen here. Hall and acoustics are very beautiful. Too bad you have to buy a membership.
The Melkweg is located in the only remaining factory building on the Amsterdam canals: a former sugar and, later, milk factory.
