Because the room is not that big you have more contact with your artist so you can enjoy your concert much more

Always good for free techno on Tuesdays definitely recommended and always world artists for concerts perfect layout slightly too small smoking area

The staff here were very, very rude. They didn't listen and cut me off when I wanted to drive.

Only better checking is allowed. Nobody has to show what is in his or her bag.

Overall a pretty good concert venue. I went to see one band while another was performing at the same time, so you can imagine the lines got a little confusing, especially since my concert had different ranks according to ticket type, so we had very many, very confusing lines to get through. During the concert, it seemed that two people fainted near the stage, however it took the security a suspicious amount of time to arrive on site (not too bad, they were being called for around a minute or two, but you'd like to get at least some sort of response when "security, we have an emergency up front" is being called out multiple times loud and clear through the speakers). But either way it was a very enjoyable night and I'd definitely return despite the minor hiccups.

This large space manages to feel so intimate. If you're planning on going to a show in Amsterdam this is the spot!

Great venue, depens on the artis that is playing and in witch room it is (its quite big)

The Melkweg is a location where you can go to performances. I recently went to a Highly Suspect performance. The location met the basic requirements but there are some drawbacks to be mentioned: the queue is not covered (you get wet-rained), a small safe costs 2 euros, the room is relatively small, there are no dedicated walkways through which the public must wring.

Had a Great concert from Sautisol. The venue is not that specious though, keep that in mind. They got an ATM inside, that was great.

The concert (oliver tree 15 Nov) was fanatastisch but Happy and Holy fiend your wardrobe and came out at the beginning and end of the show was a bit extreme.

Had a great night. A bit overcrowded but that did not spoil the fun. Lockers 2 euros. Big enough for your bag and jacket. Clean toilet and friendly staff.

Good bands, but sound quality is mediocre ... (24/4)

Really a very nice room, you have fantastic sound and a perfect view of the stage. The bar is reasonably accessible and as far as I have seen / heard there are also friendly people behind it.

TT night was immense, good price and venue for Amsterdam

Nice venue, intimate and functional with great balcony for less crowded but still involved experience. Too bad the sound is actually really bad :( there are lockers to store your things which is great but there is also a membership fee one has to pay on top of the face value ticket + processing fees each time to enter (you can buy an annual membership too for 25 I think) which I find a little bit rip off.

Also a must in Dam for music and art fans. You get everything. Right on the Leidseplein.

Another place I visited, don't recall which it was as the name does not ring a bell.. But every place I visited was friendly and low key..

Awesome music/gig venue just off Leidesplein. Coat check is not free. Sometimes the venue is split between events, so make sure you jump in the right queue to get in.

Top spot, spray it with graffiti or have someone design the walls. Give that art scene a chance

Great club for a night out or to see your favorite band. Though it is a bit crowded.

THE place to go for a party in Amsterdam.

Melkweg dishes out all kinds of events in the perfect spot right next to Leidseplein.

Went to the king's day party there and was not disappointed. Even though there were loads of intoxicated party people this place has enough space to accommodate them all comfortably.
They also have enough rooms to pull off a buffet kind of party, meaning different tunes and different kinds of events on every floor.

Cool feature as well is that there is more than one bar per floor to keep you "hydrated" all night long.

One of the two legendary music and popular culture venues in Amsterdam. The other one being Paradiso.

Good sound system, light and sound well arranged! Parking in the area is very difficult and expensive.

It s not bad - it just lacks the wow factor!
The only reason I m rating this 4 stars and not 3 is because the staff in the bar and security are super friendly and very accommodating.. everything else is just a 3.

We went there to Cheeky Monday (Drum and bass every Monday) and it was awesome. Djs and Mcs were on point, the club is very nice and the security is helpful but not too strict!

Always an experience. One of the best venues in Amsterdam.

Nice place to go and see different artists live. It has different spaces inside it so depending on the crowd number they chenge between the different ones.
