Totally Awesome place. Great with the kids. The wranglers where super nice. The horses where great, Really calm. Would recommend and go back!
Thank you Julie for your timely matter for taking care of our situation. We have an unfortunate situation take place which has now been handle in a very professional manner very much appreciated. My daughter is very excited about her lesson tomorrow. Again thank you for your help.
They ask if you are novice or experienced. I have my own horse and am experienced. I never even had to use my reins riding at SUNDANCE because the horses were nose to butt the whole time and we weren't allowed to leave the walk trot line. It may be OK for novice kids but we had a horrible time. I would not suggest this stable to ANYONE who already knows how to ride!!!!!!!! The only reason I'm giving one star is because it won't let me post unless you give at least one. Other than that it would be a HUGE ZERO!!!
Really friendly staff and great instructors. I had a good time with a friend on our first horse ride
Was very clean and tidy staff was very nice and helpful. I had a great time with my family!
Julie went well out of her way to get us on a ride, today. She treats everyone with the greatest care and respect. We just love it at Sundance, and all the staff there too! What a great introduction into the world of horses. If horses had a superpower, it's definitely inner healing. We can't get enough!
Great place to go .and have lots of fun .the staff are so very nice and friendly .I will definitely go again .I was a first time rider and they make sure i got a easy horse to ride .
My kids and I randomly stumbled upon your hidden gem. We could not be more grateful for a fantastic afternoon! From the front desk to the barn to the trail guide, you were all so friendly and knowledgable. None of us had ever been on a horse but will certainly be back before you close for the season. Thank you! Highly
recommend.
We go ever year in Aug for my birthday the guy who ride with us he look like the old cowboys and he make my husband feel better on the horse he talk to him. Last time we went we had his wife she was good to nice ride beaitful day. Thank you all
I've only been here 1 time but I loved it! I went with a YMCA camp a couple years ago and I still see the horse I rode on the commercials! The people are very nice and the horses are perfectly behaved. I wish I had a horse so I could board him/her here!
Great price for an hour long ride through open fields and wooded trails. Horses are in good shape and staff are knowledgeable.
My family loved the experience and would absolutely do it again.
We had lessons scheduled for 1pm and they told us to be there at 1230pm. We were arriving and they called us 15 minutes before asking us to reschedule because it was going to rain. Weather app showed no chance of rain and then they said if we weren't willing to reschedule they can get a horse ready which could take an hour or more. This was extremely unprofessional and the fact the horses weren't ready before a scheduled time shows they were planning to cancel. Either way if they planned to reschedule they should have called a long time ago not 15 minutes before the time we were scheduled to show up. I won't even consider this place ever again.
Great experience with lots of unique things to do. Wonderful staff to help you
Awesome awesome awesome they are amazing you really have to go. Did I say awesome
My son loved doc, I my self had arrow, he kept me in the tree line and into every low hanging branch, but it was hilarious. Had a hell of good time!
Expensive and the trail guides r rude and disrespectful...I will never go there again !
Good ride. Pilot was an ornery horse though. Smaller groups would be ideal.
Had a fun time on a great horse riding around the pastures and woods!
Great place to go and we had a great time. $70 for 2 to ride is up there, but not bad when other places charge the same and more.
I took my grandson for his first horse ride. He got yogi he loved it our guide was awesome and very knowledgeable , with lots of patience. I will recommend sundance riding stables to all who want to experience riding a horse.. thanks to our guide she just moved back from Colorado . And she said her name was oh my gosh i need help.. lol
Awesome young lady thank you.
My granddaughter went there for riding camp last year and is going to two camps thus year. Loves every minute of it. Great, caring adults to teach them.
Be sure to arrive 30 min prior to when you want to head out. Nice and easy trail riding and a good time with friendly saff.
While trotting druring the ride all of the hoses at the time became unruly and started to bolt. I lost hold of my reigns for a while, but my boyfriend fell of of his horse completly and hit the ground, fracturing 14 vertebrae in his back and neck.
As inexperienced riders I believe they should have paired us with different and less "Unruly horses" to quote a staff member.
Beautiful fall trail ride. Nicole was a great trail boss. Tuxedo is a great young horse.
Kids loved it! Staff was patient and helpful. Trail grounds are beautiful with ponds, forest and fields.
Took the girls out today for their very first independant trail ride at Sundance riding stables in Grand Ledge. The price was comparable to most stables in my experience, however they offered a family four pack that made the day very affordable for us at twentyfive dollars a person, for a savings of forty dollars which went towards lunch afterwards. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The horses were well cared for and of different experiences to match their riders personal abilities.
The property was upkept and clean throughout the trails. Our horses for our ride were Apollo, Ricky, Chrome and Copper, all very well tempered and forgiving horses. We took a pony of our own for the trip out... and even got a few pics of her with the Sundance sign so she didnt feel left out. Be sure to visit sundance riding stables and dont forget to tip your favorite wranglers for a job well done.
Extremely disappointed! Checked out the website, and called the day before to see if we needed reservations. Told them this was my first time and was planning on coming tomorrow. Was told no reservations needed and to be there 30 minutes early. Checked the weather before we left, drove an hour to get there, to find that they were closed. There was a note on the door saying they were closed due to the wet trails, as we got some rain over night.
There was nothing posted on the website saying that they were closed. I never did call to see if there was a message on an answering machine informing customers that they were closed.
They should have a post on their home page informing everyone to call first, no matter what, to see if they are open. When someone calls inquiring, they should inform them to call first to make sure they are open.
It was closed but we still got to pet a pretty gelding.
Went out with 6 other riders, my horse was Black Jack my daughter's Gus.We had a nice ride through the woods and along the fields. Britain was our guide and leader, she was very nice and told us all about each of our horses. The place was clean and the gentleman that checked us in was very nice.
Horses are over worked & under fed. Employees here are extremely rude. Will never be back. The experience was awful and a waste of money. Don't recommend going here if you actually like to ride.
This was our first time there. A great experience. A beautiful day, friendly staff that seemed to truly enjoy the horses and their job, and a very nice ride. We will definitely be back.
Great place for the kids and was such fun watching them enjoy themselves
They close at 6. We drove an hour and arrived at 2: , to locked doors and a sign stating registration for the last ride for the day was completed, please come back again. It's 2019. Mr Hanks is one of the best business marketers competitively.... But nobody finds it necessary to list on the website it's mandatory to arrive 2 or 3 hours ahead of time if you want to ride? Inexcusable.
These people are Amazing!!! And there horses are too!!! It always a good experience here. At Sundance they match the horses to your riding experience. The people are curtious and friendly..it's always clean and the horses are well taken care of..
Friendly helpful understanding staff. Well behaved horses
Very fun guided trail riding. A horse for every size. Trail guides are very knowledgeable
Fun and friendly people. Beautiful property and great horses.
Took my 2 daughters and son , daughter seen a sleeping deer , horse spooked and bucked her but she got back on after she caught her breath and finished her ride.
A great place to go horse back riding and enjoy the outdoors for a very reasonable price. and the pony rides for the kids are great. Nothing like at the fair where the poor ponies walk in a circle a few times for $10.
Very kind staff and very affordable. My daughter very much loved the pony ride. Her pony was very calm, well behaved, and well cared for.
My sister and I had a blast. It had been such a long time since we rode together.
The ladies were all really nice. The horses were great! Trail was just right. My girls can't wait to go back for a 2nd round!
Staff are nice, even to rude people. Horses are fit and gentle, trails are clean, pretty and fun to ride. Price is great, very good family outing.
Always a good experience. Kids have fun in the horse camps and gain knowledge while doing it
A good place to start out riding horses...There horses are pretty and calm...
The people at Sundance are knowledgeable and extremely friendly. All very down to earth people. The stables they have appeared to be clean and run well; all the horses I've seen there were easy to ride. These folks know what they're doing, and they have a great property to do it.
I LOVE IT MY DAD ALWAYS TAKES ME THERE WHEN HE CAN REEEEEEEE
Nice riding stable. You get a full hour ride with a pleasant tour guide.
Very healthy looking well trained horses. Clean facility with employees who obviously are all knowledgeable and love their job. Would recommend to any level of rider.
Beautiful trail riding. Well cared for horses. Nice and friendly staff. Love this place. Competitive boarding prices!
It was really fun and the staff was nice also the trails were so pretty you should go!
My daughter loves to come out every weekend and go for an hour long trail ride! Friendly and helpful staff! They have horses and ponys that range in experience to someone who's never been on a horse before and of course those who ride on a regular basis!
Definitely My Go To Place On The Weekend To Get Us Out Of The House!!
Can't wait to go back they're usually busy but make sure when your on your trail ride they take their time I was happy that they matched up people with horses very well
My son did the day camp there and had a great time!
This is a decent place to ride a good horse and have some fun. The staff are very nice and friendly and also knowledgeable about the horses. There are many good horses here.
Very well minded horses and very enjoyable and relaxing
Great experience. The start was very slow, we waited on our horses for a good 20 minutes before hitting the trail, which wasn't bad. They let you walk the horse around while you wait. The horses basically just stick together and follow, no real skill needed. Arrive early if it is your first time, they have some paper work to explain and need signed.
My daughter did their horse camp and LOVED it! She learned to actually control her horse and all the campers did a show at the end to showcase their skills. There was also a very nice cookout at the end for the families! It was really an awesome camp!
What an amazing place to ride. Very very professional and friendly. My daughter and I have gone twice in the past month. Go see and ride for yourself . Price is great and fuuuuun for all. Thanks Sundance
Nice little pony. Gentle and well behaved. Great experience for a 4 year old's introduction into horseback riding. Very kind staff.
Very friendly and accommodating. I took my daughter and a couple friends to ride for her 11th birthday. The staff treated us very well. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience.
Super friendly staff. Great first time experience !
Went last year for my daughter birthday the trails were not that good the guide was rude and the horses were not that Tamed
Love it! Everyone is so nice and sweet , including the horses.
My 8 year old daughter and I went out riding with a group on Saturday. We had never ridden before and neither had another 8 year old in the group. They separated the kids from their moms and put them together. While the ride was very enjoyable, something spooked my daughter's horse and it went wild. My daughter was dragged several feet by the horse until she was thrown to the ground. While we know things like this can happen, Sundance had zero emergency plans in place after the fact, I had to ask them to call for an ambulance. While I was waiting for the ambulance and trying to check my daughter out, they tried to have me fill out a form stating what happened and if I thought one of their employees was at fault. When Skip, one of the employees heard I had called for an ambulance he told me, "they don't like when we call for ambulances and don't need them." He said she just needed a bandaid in her finger. My daughter had road rash all over her chest and a large bruise on her neck, left shoulder and hip. I had no idea if she had any internal injuries. Thankfully my daughter is fine, but I will never EVER go back there. I'm sure this isn't the first time something like this has happened and it scares me to think people may not get the medical attention they need. I'd leave negative stars if I could.
As if adding insult to injury, the owner replied to this post with some things that were never said when this happened. I was never asked if I needed an ambulance at the scene, instead they brought a 4 wheeler out to pick us up. I was never asked why she was moved. The only response I got from apparently the owner was "they don't like us to call ambulances if we don't need them, ". And "she just needs a bandaid" which he put on her finger. When the ambulance got there he told her to walk out to it and I told him not to move her. The medics looked at her and said they thought she would be fine, but I insisted on taking her to the hospital just to be sure. Of course I refused the ambulance ride when I could take her there myself once I knew she did not need immediate medical attention. It is sad that the owner has chosen to handle this situation this way. This is the first time I have heard an apology even though I know that these things can happen. As a 23 year veteran police officer I believe I know when somebody needs to be checked out. And the owner should be ashamed of himself for not only trying to discourage me from calling an ambulance, but for lying on top of it.
We went to old town road y'all! We got the horses in the back! @sundance, get it get it!
