The place is too big, overly exaggerated. You can't just walk somewhere, you have to take their cart trolleys to get to most restaurants, pools, bars, etc. I don't like the place and will not return.
The food is overpriced and not that great. The food from room service is better. Most of the employees are very friendly.

Wonderful Resort, but very very very big complex. Beautiful and they do take you on tram cars from one place to the other but there's many many hotels inside of this Resort. The biggest pool I've ever seen in my life. And believe me I've been to a lot of places in Mexico. The pool is bigger than like three or four city blocks

Everything was amazing!! except for the time share presentation. The sales reps were horrible!!! It was a nightmare!! I was pressured into buying a membership that I could barely afford. I was also pressured to call my friends for them to More

A family friendly resort. Most everything ends around 11pm. Lots of food to choose from, however vegan options could be increased. The rooms were nice however I found that sounds echoed from the hallways. We had a two bedroom suite and I was not in the master therefore I could hear everything that happened in the hallway... however because there are many hotels attached to the one property there s a large selection of pools or a decent beach/sand option

It s a beautiful property to walk around. They are for a good 3 mile trail that circles the property

The facilities are beautiful. But moving from one place to another takes hours waiting for super awkward carts. There is a kind of elite that has access to better swimming pools and transportation. The beach has a beautiful view and incredible pelicans but you can't get in unless you like to step on stones. The service is very good, except Elmer who serves what he wants and does not go to protest

I would not stay again. In the Mayan palace hotel the rooms are already old that make you lose the luxury of the resort and the location of the hotel is not the most accessible in any way either in transport or walking, there is nothing more than a pool everything else is a bit long which I see deficient for people with mobility problems.

It is nice but I would spend a little more for an all inclusive resort next time. There acre many in area for similar price. Also if you have a vehicle you have to park all the way in back of property and shuttle back in forth (it's a 5 min shuttle ride) but you usually have to wait 15-30min sometimes longer for shuttle to arrive .

The facilities are beautiful but it is very difficult to get in and out of the hotel and they literally harass you every day to go to their informative breakfasts even if you say no 1000 times

The place is well located, the staff is very attentive but the transfer from the central lobby to the rooms is very slow, on several occasions we had to wait up to an hour to get out, besides the beach has many rocks I only recommend it for the alberas but for beach is lousy.

BED BUGS! THE RESORT HAS BED BUGS!

BED BUGS! THE RESORT HAS BED BUGS!

I'm going to tell you a tale of utmost disappointment. This resort fostered anvenvironment that ruined a vacation. And I'm not the only one to say this read through the reviews.

Let's start from the top. Getting from the airport to the hotel. Little do they tell you, you have to ensure you book transportation with them 24 hours prior to arrival. Well if you don't it's going to cost you about $30 per person.

When you arrive and check in, the front staff displays the language barrier very well. So if you have questions on resort costs etc. Be prepared to go back to your room without an answer. After you check in you're rushed over to another person. This person is going to tell you about an "information" session. Be prepared to waste half a day all for 10% off your bill and a card. Now they talk this card up. It's the VIP card, right? Well it's not it gets you basically nothing. So you go to the presentation whenever you set it. Turns out it's a timeshare presentation. They say it should last an hour but it lasts for 4. The staff don't know how to take no for an answer very well. But, hey you got a free breakfast out of the deal. So can't go wrong there.

Let's talk about the rooms. If you're in the Mayan palace, be prepared for loud noises all throughout the complex. There is construction going on right next to it and you can hear it throughout. The rooms also smell like musk and mold. If you remember you highschool locker room, the rooms smell like this. Cleaniless, is by far a low standard here. My 6 year old son can clean better than this. Now you may think taking your complaints to the front desk will get you a chance at a better vacation. Well it doesn't.

Next restaurants or where to eat. We'll be prepared to spend quite a bit of money for not a lot of food. The food quanity is low same as the quality. You'll spend quite a bit on a meal and not even get chips and salsa. Since when did you not get complimentary chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant? Well here you'll never see it unless you pay more. So you think you're going to stay in your room and order room service. Don't! They'll tell you it'll be an hour then almost two hours later your meal will show up. The server will set the table up for you, ask you if it was correct and then wait for a tip. Now he'll give you the check then be prepared for an awkward moment. Hell check your tip in front of you and argue if you didn't tip him enough. Again language barriers, so it's about a good 5-10 minutes before they leave. Then the food is cold coming from room services.

Ah in Mexico you want to enjoy the beach. Well, the beach on this resort is straight garbage. It's pure rock and seamoss/weed making it so you can't even walk the coastline to enjoy. The other parts of the beach are secluded to other portions of the resort. If you venture into them, you'll order something and then they'll ask you to leave. Only after taking your money.

Hands down this resort constantly expects you to pay more than any other location we've been too. A lot of the staff is rude. You're secluded away from everything. Meaning you have to take this cart all around the resort. Just don't waste your money, because they won't return it and you won't get your money worth. Hence why I'm writing this sitting in a moldy smelling room of the Mayan palace. Your vacation will be ruined by this resort.

The resort did nothing for complaints. So be prepared to go unheard and feel ripped off. The resort has bed bugs too in the Mayan palace. I'm not the only one. I met a couple that got a rash the first night of their stay.

The pools are beautiful and many. The food is out of this world and the accommodations are first class. Transportation is continuously provided by golf cart trams thay can take you virtually anywhere on the property.
The only negative thing I can think of is you'll need water shoes to enter the water. The beaches themselves are good with plenty of sand but the water has many exposed rocks from storms.

Excellent facilities throughout the vidanta complex, in its different hotels, large pools with enough depth for a good swim, where you can be comfortable practicing healthy distance, complying with all the sanitary measures recommended by national and international authorities

Our stay at the Mayan Palace was sooo great! So beautiful and so well taken care of! There was plenty of things to do and such an ease to get answers to our questions. Staff was so kind! The only thing we wish they had was more Vegan options for us.

The hotel is very nice! The staff is very friendly, the pools are great, it is a hotel recommended for people who drive a private car, since the taxis are expensive and the places to visit are retired. To consume In restaurants minimally spend 500 pesos per person.

The Mayan palace is located in beautiful riviera Maya Mexico, right on the beach. The hotel grounds are nestled into a jungle and are big enough for you to spend a week visiting in and of itself. We will definitely be visiting again!

This resort is pretty removed from downtown Playa Del Carmen, but the accommodations are very nice, the staff is friendly and the prices on food and drinks are reasonable (although still considerably more expensive than in town).

Super big resort, beautiful trails surrounded by forest, wild animals walk freely. The food is absolutely fantastic but a bit expensive. Also 30min waiting time in most of restaurants for dinner. The beach is really rocky, not the best place so swim. The shopping is great, many options with affordable items.
