Too much time to get to the pool, the beach.

Too much time to get to the pool, the beach.
, Or even your car. To check in is a whole process. Too American. This is not the real Mexico. But it's an amazing place with beautiful spots and the service is great! So if you want to stay at the hotel your hole vacations would be a good place

I stayed in the Grand Mayan but the facilities are shared with the Mayan Palace. While I wrote a review for the Grand Mayan I will briefly summarize it here. The beach is nice but the ocean has rocks and coral for the first 15-20 feet. There a multiple pools which are very nice and large, with different ambiences at each. The restaurants that I have been to were good and there are a variety of cuisines offered. The drinks are tasty but watered down. The activities offered are generic but if you are into them are fun enough.

A great place, beauty everywhere, friendly and helpful employees.
It has nothing bad, but the prices are a little higher for what they offer comparing it with other resorts like the xcaret all-inclusive

I want to say that these people have it clear, service, quality, quantity and definitely the best thing is that they do not skimp on expenses, staff, etc ... for the visitors to be. Feel at home or better

I have only been here one day and dislike it intensely. From getting to check in to getting a room. Having to be detained by listening to promotion people before you can get to your room. Walking a mile, literally, just to get to the pool, and father to the beach.
This could be a long week for me!

It's a nice place. Just need lights by the building numbers. Push a Bell for shuffle to come pick you up. Sometime u be waiting a long time for it to come. That's all for now. You get free breakfast if u go to the orientation. I think if you buy the package you should get lunch to you be there all day. They have great deals.

Huge resort, they have some really nice facilities like the "Santuario Maya", but is lame that you need to move around in a shuttle service, and the beach is good for snorkeling but not so much for taking a swim

August 12, 2018 through August 19, 2018, we vacationed in Rivera Maya, Mexico. We stayed at a Vidanta resort, Grand Luxxe Resident Club, room 1706. The check in, service, rooms and food were beyond exceptional. The resort is huge. It has nine different hotels, three pools, beach club and over twenty restaurants. You travel by shuttles. It can be time consuming at times. The shuttles run every 15minutes in certain areas. I recommend catching the shuttles from main location, like the hotel lobby or main pool areas. We waited outside a side location (behind Jade Boutique) for over 30mins. We had to walk to another location(Mayan Palance) to get a shuttle to our hotel room. The reason I did not give it a 5 stars is because they turn you over to a time share presentation, after you check in. It is horrible. The sales people are very aggressive and even try to threaten to charge you for the breakfast. It ruins a half day of your vacation. We went to the" Presentation "only because it was stated" all first time guest" must attend a presentation. It's a timeshare although they only refer to it as a presentation. Let this be your warning, after you leave the desk after checking in, you are done. The next person is in sales for a timeshare and not to finish competing your checkin.

I stayed in Gran Maia and they put me in a musty-smelling room with construction noise next door .... I asked to change and they put me in a room in another lower level hotel inside the complex. This room was much worse: there was water leakage in the bathroom that went into the room and could not open the window other than entering raccoon (many). They moved us to another room upstairs, which despite being worse than the first in quality, had no problems ..... Review: When you rent something you do not have, the normal thing is to offer you another equal or higher. In my case they gave me a BOTTOM !!!! Would not recommend and will not be returning.

It is so big that I do not know where to start ... The excellent pools as well as the environment and the beach. The service very well. The staff treats you like king. On the contrary, I would say that the distances and the time of transfer within the same hotel can be annoying and it is very tiring.

Beautiful place! Butttttt the size and placement of things makes it annoying to get around. You gotta take a tram to and from your room and the pools which makes it a huge hassle. Why not place different pools near the rooms so it's not a mission? Also why are the pools SO heated!! It's hot and humid, it'd be nice to jump into a refreshing cool pool instead of an equally warm pool. Lots of mosquitos in the evening, bug repellant barely helps! The beach is not the nicest, great corals to snorkel at the end of the dock BUTTT it's super annoying when they keep having the boats come in on the side that everyone is wading in.

Not a fan. It is 7:10 p.m. on day 2 and I am still waiting on housekeeping. Getting around is a nightmare with shuttles that are unreliable and few and far between. Communication seems to be a problem throughout the property as no one seems to know anything about anything but the job they are doing. When asking a question you get a deer in the headlights look. The beach is very rocky and I witnessed a woman bloodied after falling in the rocky surf yesterday. The bed is like lying on plywood. Not good for side or stomach sleepers. Not impressed. Customer service does not seem to be a priority here. Will of course be going to a sales presentation where we will voice our concerns.

Imposing hotel A resort with all the luxuries, immense, so big that there are cars to be able to go from one place to another that do the internal tours. It has everything you can ask for. Private beach, multipkes restaurant, multiple bars, several sports courts. The rooms very equipped, spacious bathrooms with hydromassage, very comfortable beds. In this hotel is the cirque du soleil with an original show. Jewel, unmissable.

This place is horrible. The lack of communication is ridiculous. I had to go to the concierge 3 times during my stay to resolve a problem. First time brought all my documents to one of them, she claimed to have made copies of my information and put a note onto the computer. No call no nothing. We back down there of course she wasn't there, had to talk to another agent. He stated there was nothing on file, and again stated he would put a comment or note into the computer. Still never heard anything from them. Went back a 3ed time, asked to speak with their supervisor. Humm guess what, on break! Of course, 3ed agent didn't find anything in the computer or the documents I brought the 1st and 2nd time. Gave that agent the information.. Lol at this point I was beyond upset. But, l manage to keep calm. Never heard anything from anyone, not even when I checked out!
This is not the behavior you want known to anyone. As a military spouse who booked thru one of the military website's, I will make sure this complaint is known.
Maybe they can communicate with eachother then. If I could of not given any stars that would be great!

Still a pleasant resort, though ever changing. For us the major changes are the opening of the outdoor market called "Salum". Food was fair-to-good there, nothing special. There is a recently opened beach club which has lots of pools and cabanas, and good access to the beach.
One negative is the lack of landscaping maintenance. There are areas around the property where you used to be able to see areas close in, and also farther away, so there were vistas through the property. Now as you travel though on the trams or walking, it looks as if the pathways and roads are carved out of the jungle, with a wall of vegetation 30-50 feet high. Whwn walking around the property its more difficult to get directionally oriented. This is functional landscape design at best, possibly driven by a tight landscaping budget.

Great for families, ok for couples. Pools can be crazy with kids and toddlers. However, pools are HUGE and couples can find their own space. Poolside service is ok to good. Restaurants are ok to great. Food options are almost anything you want, however a few restaurants are exclusive to guest status. New area partially open will be wonderful. They pay a lot of attention to keeping the jungle in tact. Walkways are a bit confusing, but wonderful to explore. Typical chair 'saving' goes on before 8am and the staff doesn't enforce the 2 hour rule. DO NOT...DO NOT agree to any 'free' or discounted services because they'll get you into a timeshare presentation. Do not go to any presentation! They will not let you go. They'll even finance whatever you buy. Do not go it!!

We are owners here so we do enjoy coming here for the most part but it is a little overwhelming. Landscaping, pools, structures and the grounds are beautiful but it is just too big. Waiting for the shuttles can take up to 20 minutes. The Grand Luxxe is beautiful and the accommodations are very nice but it is very far away from everything at the resort. They say you get personal shuttles anywhere onsite but this is not true. You get dropped off at a transfer spot and have to wait again for another shuttle. Sometimes before you know it, it's taken 45 minutes to get to where you are going. The food is I guess what you would call "exquisite". It's not bad but it's way over priced and not what I would consider Authentic Mexican food. They try too hard with the presentation of the food and it sacrifices flavor. It's a nice place to visit if you are planning on walking a few miles a day and don't mind hustle and bustle but next time, we will visit a smaller resort.

They took us to know the place .. an invitation they gave us at the airport ..... we stayed at another hotel. We ran out of time for you to become a member or membership ... a whole morning to convince you. When they have to understand that one comes on vacation ... the rest is excellent. Be clear at the time of the invitation .. since they only say that it is to know ... Greetings

Foid superb, wait and pool staff very friendly and happy. Room spacious. Shower water always hot. Housekeeping mostly ok, variety of things to on site good. HUGE downside is HIGH pressure and dishonest sales squeeze. We are already members as a result of an earlier high pressure sales experience. We were told we could transfer oyr earlier investment into a mire advantageous investment for the existing dollars we had spent. Not so, they only wanted another $43,000 and held onto our licenses so we wiuld not leave. This part was sleazy, too bad as the rest of the experience was fiest class. And we will be back

Pool: Amazing, simply amazing.
Rooms: Ok, standard.
Food: Great
Food Price: Rediculas ( Way to Expensive for Mexico)
Excursions inside the hotel: Don't book excursions with hotel, way too expensive. Go to 5th ave ( Hotel taxi goes there) and book for half the price.

Not all inclusive.
