Matt Helfrich, O.D. Review

The Office of Dr. Matt Helfrich gave me great customer service and hospitality. The staff were professional at all times and very friendly. I also had some concerns and questions that were address in their entirety. Great professional clean business.

Very happy and pleased the staff and dr was very nice and helpful and affordable price that you cant beat and very fast in and out no completes from this woman:)

I'd seen various eye doctors on and off for 26 years before ending up in Dr. Helfrich's office and I think I've finally found a place where I intend to stay. I went so long without realizing I had certain impairments and visual disabilities and just as long without the right care or prescriptions. He is so thorough and explains every detail to you so you know exactly what is going on with your vision and the care you're getting. The rest of the staff is fantastic as well, they're all so friendly, ESPECIALLY a young lady by the name of Samantha (I believe her name tag said she's been working in the field for 9 years). She was so helpful and extremely knowledgeable when it came time for me to pick out frames. She helped me find a pair that was perfect for my style, comfort level, and budget. She was very relaxed and casual when I realized I'd have to put them on hold and couldn't pay for them that day, she made sure that I didn't feel bad about it at all. In the midst of what has been a really rough time for me, today's visit specifically was a small bright spot in my day.

Received my first pair of contacts back in Feb 2017. I decided to buy a year supply of boxed contacts ONLY because one of the secretaries specifically stated I can return them ANY time as long as they are unopened. I remember her stating this since I asked her for reassurance so I am not spending $100 on contacts that are uncomfortable, due to this being my first contact purchase. To make a long story shortened, I was unable to return the contacts and could not exchange for any free trials or a diff type. The communication between the doctor-patient-employees is horrible. Poor customer service. I have my BSN and am an RN, and this is not how doc-pt communication should be. I walked out of there with 3 boxes or $50 worth of crappy contacts that felt like cardboard in my eyes, while not even talking with the owner/doc (he wanted $50 to talk to me, and the one lady said she would bump it down two dollars, so 48$ lol ok), and not receiving trial contacts which is what I wanted. It's very frustrating, the docs are laissez faire when he knows HIS patient is unhappy with the purchase/service from him, and they send the secretaries out to be the messenger and they don't do anything. Will be going to a different eye doc so I can see which contacts are most comfy for me.

..update: Turns out they sold me contacts that the manufacturer discontinued the first of the year so they can get off their hands lol. "Vertex Sphere"...

I've been bring my family here for years. I love this place the staff are always friendly and helpful. Very accommodating for my two special needs children.

Made an appointment to get my 3 year old son eye checked because he got dirt or something in there. I go in and they tell me it's 150 bucks up front. I tell them my insurance said they submit to them then I pay the balance. They tell me they'll check on it. 15 minutes later they tell me to go to the ER. I'm not going to the ER for a little dirt in the eye. The reason he wouldn't see me is became of the up front payment. I ask to talk to the doctor and he is conveniently in a meeting. Why schedule the appointment if you're going to tell me to go to the ER when I get there. By the way it's his son running the place now not Sr.

Horrible .... from the staff to process of just getting glasses. Wont let you come in to pick glasses up. Have to make an appointment. Then they're all booked up!.!.Crazy. I need the glasses I paid for not an appointment.The doctor sees you for not even 5 mins.. had three pairs of frames in one year. Still made me pay for them when it was obviously faulty frames.

My experience with Dr. Helfrich as well as his staff was great. Would go back and recommend.

Have been going here for years for my glasses and they are the best! The staff and doctors are all extremely friendly and are genuinely concerned when something is wrong. Would recommend them to everyone!

I saw Dr. Helfrich Jr. He helped me out withmy dry eye and it is soooo much better! The girls in the front helped me pick out a cute new pair of glasses. This pair fits really well and I can see out of them a lot better than the ones I bought online!

I have smudges and scratches, on my lenses obviously from the lab. However, the office manager made me out to be crazy. I have worn glasses for 46 years. Also, the staff is very rude. Choose another provider.

I had gone to them in the past and was happy with them but took my son and will never go back again. I asked for a contact exam which I paid for and they never told me BEFORE I paid for it that he had to take "contact classes" and get his contacts in a time limit before they give him the contact. If I was told this before I paid I would not have paid for the contact part. Then he failed twice-I had to work so he could not go back. COVID happened and he could not go back. He called to reschedule and was told he wold have to pay for another eye exam even though it has not even been a year. I will never use this eye doctor again for any of my children or myself and will never recommend them to anyone. And even though you paid for the contact exam they refuse to give you the prescription that YOU paid for.

Dr visit was super fast and easy. Really nice people.i would have given them 5 stars but the girl who helped me pick out my frames refused to tell me my pupil distance on my copy of my perscription,she even lied to me and told me pupil distance changes per the frame you pick.which is totally bs.your pupils will always be the same distance apart unless you're a growing child or you have a wandering eye.haha.my frames where also marked 159 but when I got my bill that were 199. But the rest of my visit was awesome.

Great eye doctors, both father and son; I've been going to them for years. Great customer service too.
They do their best to accommodate your needs.

I would give this place a zero if I could . Tried to buy glasses for my wife elsewhere and they won't fax you your Rx they want you to buy glasses from them sorry you have a crappy selection and rude receptionists take your business elsewhere

Jr. Dont even deserve one star. Dude had me in the wri g rx for a yr. Was wondering why i couldnt see and was having bad headaches. Went to see a two different drs and both said my rx was wrong. Smh. Ill never go back. Not only that but he charged me double for my exam and glasses. Walmart is better.

Has been my go to for years. This past year I was told a balance showed up from 2 years ago even though they require payment at time of service. When questioned I was told the doctor would waive it ( never admitted an error) and I would have to pay exam fee. My insurance states 0 copay. I m really disappointed. They also stated the 2 year old charge was from a medical referral of high blood pressure. I don t have high blood pressure and was not referred anywhere. This type of error should not happen in a doctor office and I am very uncomfortable with knowing this now.

This place is nothing like it used to be.... the staff is very rude they do not accommodate for children that are in school, they have a very smart mouth they have no idea how to talk to people I would give them a double zero if I could I totally hate this place and encourage everyone to take your business somewhere else.......

Misdiagnosed my keratoconus as simple astigmatism. The correct diagnosis could have prevented some of my vision loss. Too late now.

Really like how the Helfrich's go out of their way for their patients!
