The decor / location are amazing. The place's lighting is pretty toned down. Felt quite rushed & the waiter wasn't necessarily the greatest at explaining the menu. Ordered chicken although had no idea it didn't come with any sides. We were a small group hence perhaps I wasn't paying the most attention although I would have liked to be asked. I literally got a piece of chicken. Would go back although would pay more attention to the menu.

Great place for New Year's Eve party. Enjoyed the ambience and the music. The band played special requests and the singing was spot-on. Service was good considering how crowded it was. Clientele was eclectic and varied with ages 30 through 60. Valet parking. Great place to bring in the New Year!

I love this place. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday and we had a great experience. The service was great. The restaurant is darkly lit so be prepared to use your mobile phone's flashlight to see the menu. We started with the Alaskan Crab stuffed mushrooms which were delicious with a crispy top layer. Next we had the house salad with a thick cut bacon slice chopped on top. The salad had blue cheese, chopped bell peppers and iceberg lettuce. We then moved on to the steak dinner. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and seasoned well. We got the Lobster Mac and Cheese and the Truffle Butter Mashed Potatoes. Both were super rich in flavor and accompanied our steak very well. We ended the night with the Warm Butter Cake. It is to die for. It has a scoop of an ice cream flown from Chicago, strawberries and a berry sauce. The Butter Cake was very buttery and was served with a healthy serving of freshly whipped cream.

I find myself comparing every single steak I have,...

I find myself comparing every single steak I have, no matter where it is in the entire world, to the BONE-IN FILET MEDIUM RARE PLUS EXTRA CHAR from Mastro's, hoping that it will beat Mastros (so that I can have another favorite steakhouse to choose from) but KNOWING that it cannot.

Mastro's is just perfection. Plain and simple. Each and every time, with a deadly consistency and a char on your steak that will make grown men cry. It's hard for high-end restaurants to deliver perfection each and every time, but Mastro's finds a way to do it.

It's been my favorite steakhouse in the world since I was first taken here for a birthday dinner well over a decade ago, and nothing compares or has come even close.

There are three dining levels: (1) Classic steakhouse, great for group dinners, (2) Lounge/club with live piano-man and singers, decked in red velvet, (3) the new penthouse, targeted to a younger crowd with a live DJ and no stuffy steakhouse booths. All are fantastic in their own way, and offer an entirely unique dining experience.

You must must come here and experience it for yourself. Beverly Hills is my favorite of the Mastro's locations, and worth a visit no matter where you are coming from.

Birthday behavior was fabulous! The food was just right, the scenery was smooth. The waiter was very attentive. He consistently kept asking how was things & refilling our drinks. So, yeah, great customer service. We had an early reservation so we could have some quiet time to talk and enjoy each other s company before the crowd. He ordered the lamb, which he enjoyed he couldn t stop taking bites & he s not a big eater. He expressed how delicious his lamb was. I ordered a small salad along with their macaroni vegan option. Their bread was delicious also. I think I got more full off the bread than my actual meal. We even ordered a second round of bread. Yeah, that s how good just the bread was. your experience can add up to a large bill. A couple could spend at least $200 or so for their meal depending on their choice of dish & drinks. Mastro s is not too cheap! Of course, you must take a picture in front of their sign. we will definitely return. Good spot!

After a week outside of America, we love to eat a cut of meat, with corn, cauliflower and toasted peppers, the best of the night!

An urban environment, totally casual, not like the other Mastro s we know, but it was worth it.

Went for my birthday weekend and I wasn t very impressed. The food was decent but nothing amazing . The lobster mash was ok but the pictures make it more desirable. Overall I liked the dry ice affect over the seafood platter and shrimp cocktail but for the taste I ve had better. I wouldn t go back but it was ok to experience.

They do serve some good food. I got the French onion soup as an appetizer Its pretty big for an appetizer. I like that is super salty. Some other onion soups I've had at other places lack salt. But here its perfect. The onion flavor is just right. I ordered the Ribeye with bone inside. I prefer ribeye steak over filet mignon because of flavor. The ribeye here has good flavor. I'm glad they don't put too much black pepper inside because the steak itself has good flavor from the fat. I would come here again but only on a special occasion. Its very pricey. Its worth it once in a while. When I eat steak I don't want any side dishes because is all about the steak. Cant really say anything about anything else. Overall its a good place with good food.

MASTRO S never disappoints us. The steaks are always made properly (King crab legs are amazing) appetizers are on point and desserts are to die for (especially the butter cake). But what makes this place awesome is the staff and service. From making the reservation (being flexible) to waiters, it s an all around great dining experience.

I visited Mastro's on a visit to LA last week to celebrate a special occasion and was not disappointed. The environment was upscale but not too stuffy with an interesting yet fresh soundtrack playing in the background. The steaks were impeccably cooked. I'd go as far to say that it was the best filet I've ever eaten. Pricey, but worth every penny.

Terrible experience. Food was barely average and the only attentive people on staff were the water waiters. After complaining about two dishes, we still received no visit from the manager and paid for items we chose not to eat due to their poor quality. Upon leaving, my heel caught a loose piece of carpet which resulted in a tumble. While the downstairs staff saw and asked if I was okay, I again received no further help (including ice offers) despite my tears in the lobby. Careless staff, bad food, not worth the visit. I suggest going across the street to the Palm should you find yourself in the area.

Food was exceptional! Soooo delicious. It was our first time in the Beverly hills location but what disappointed us greatly is the poor service. The server did not bother to go the extra mile to actually serve us. Everything takes too long! Even our tab that we needed so we can get out of the place! Very disappointed in the service. Server did not even explain that the complimentary dessert would be the chocolate cake when asked if we can have the butter cake for our anniversary instead. This seems like a step down from their Houston location. I expected more from Beverly hills.

First of all, 29 years later, I have the opportunity to experience a "fancy restaurant." And it was fantastic! Our waitress, Victoria and her crew, yes there was other people helping wearing black uniform, men in black. They were ALL AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC! Made my family and I's first time here feel so welcome and included. I'm typically a Denny's guy. (Joke)
The atmosphere for this penthouse was amazing as well! The live music.
** What you REALLY want to know. THE FOOD! Exquisite! I had the bone in filet 12 oz steak and it is to die for! Incredibly tasteful along with the lobster smashed potatoes, which is a must try! Delicious all around!
My wife had the WHOLE HERB ROASTED BRANZINO. Which was amazing as well. A whole fish on the plate with deliciousness all over it! Had an amazing experience here for our very first time. Hoping to do it again some time soon

I regret to have to lower my years-old rating from 5 stars, but the experience no longer seems to deliver what it once did. (photos are from a prior visit)

We were seated in the patio area, which was chilly due to the open-air setting and inadequate heating, but that seems to come with the dining-out territory these days. Our cocktails were all sweeter than would be expected, but we still said nothing; cut them some slack, right? Two medium rare bone-in rib eyes were ordered for the table along with a number of add-ons and sides. The sides came out looking like they usually do, including the wonderful bowl of butter that they call lobster mashed potatoes. However, cutting into my steak revealed a "medium rare" that was nearly medium well. I can count on one hand the number of times I have ever sent food back in my life, but I expect higher standards for Mastro's quality and price. It was removed with an apology and replaced roughly 5-10 minutes later. I expected it to come back slightly under medium rare (since that's how kitchens seem to react to being told that a steak is overdone), but taking a bite revealed that it was not only rare but blue. The center was cold. I do not fear an undercooked steak, but it was nearly refrigerated with a seared exterior. Given the significantly lower restaurant capacity due to outdoor dining requirements, I cannot imagine that the kitchen was so overwhelmed with orders that a re-flame would significantly disrupt the flow. When the waiter eventually returned to check on the status of my again untouched steak, I let him know the issue, at which point he offered to have yet another made. However, my dining companion had already finished their meal, so I was in no position to wait for a third attempt. I informed the waiter that I would have to take it home and re-cook it, and he departed. After all this, nothing was comped on the final bill. Not the steak, not a drink, not the $17 valet, not the $2.50 they charged for table bread that had been brought to the table without being requested. And the manager never visited the table to check on the meal despite being seen chatting with other nearby tables about cocktails.

Mastro's - and this Mastro's specifically - has held a spot in my heart for nearly 15 years. I visited for a dine-in meal this evening since I had been craving an actual, sit-down dinner that has been difficult to find between the many mandatory shutdowns and reopenings of the COVID era. I am also very sympathetic towards the current plight of the restaurant industry in general during these times and am more than happy to support them whenever I can. I nearly never write restaurant reviews and have strong negative feelings towards entitled diners who seem more than willing to rant nonstop about something as simple as receiving ice water when they asked for no ice. All this is to say that it took a lot to get me to this point. A dining companion had a similar steak experience at Mastro's Ocean Club in Malibu when we last went pre-COVID, so I am starting to believe that this represents an overall pattern of declining quality control within this chain, which disappoints me to no end. I unfortunately do not see myself returning here again.

So the door guy made me leave my hat in the car , and after I sat down I see a group of 4 walking in with one wearing a HAT. I ordered my filet medium and it came out very very very rare and then they decided to take it and put it back on the grill and serve it back to me. This is not a real steakhouse do not waste your money I will never ever ever recommend this place to anyone.

To whom it may concern:

To whom it may concern:

My husband and I and friend had dinner at your restaurant Mastros Beverly Hills. The reservation was for 3 persons, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 8:45 under Adam Torchia.

Surprisingly, we have not received the customary Mastros follow up phone call inquiring about our dining experience. So, allow me to fill you in... first and foremost our server, April (born Sept 15), and a 9 year veteran of Mastros, was stupendous, in every way... so, no complaints there.
The rest of your staff, however, left LOTS to be desired... and therein, lies the biggest problem. Our server's (attendee, busboy, etc) had no clue or interest in filling our water glasses. In fact, we finished off the bread basket without a drop of water or a drink. When I was finally, able to gain the attention of the guy with the water pitcher and asked him for some water he replied, "Ah yeah, we got sparkling water coming for you." To which we all replied, "No please, we just want tap water." Then he walked away. I assume, who eventually, brought us water was the manager.

From there... it just gets worse. Our steaks arrived cold, not sizzling. The steaks were taken away and reordered. I ordered the large Stone crab claw $75 which was obviously frozen so, I only had a bite of it. The new steaks were great, we were full by then, so we required to go boxes and the guy who boxed up our leftovers (the same "water guy") did not put the $75 Stone crab claw in a box and in our bag.

This was the most dissatisfied, disappointing dinner we've ever had at Mastros, so, I guess we're lucky.

Seems like some house cleaning or retraining are in order or maybe your service is declining.

Yours truly,
Adam & Michelle Torchia
Doug Soesbe

PS - I attempted to send this through Mastros email system twice and it came back as undeliverable, twice.

Our waiter did not offer the price of the kobe beef 4oz steak we ordered from the specials he told us and we found out it was $240 upon asking for our check, on top of that the steak was skimpy and full of grease/fat. My mambo salad had parmesan cheese all over the dressing and it was not disclosed on the menu description. Over paid for a disgusting meal... not cool.

Let's get to the point right away. I've been to other Mastro's restaurants the one in Thousands Oaks and Malibu, this one was the worst, other than the yummy looking of the food, the quality of the food specially the Sea Bass was really bad! In general I think this restaurant is all about the hype and the name of it and it's way too overpriced for no reason. I gave it a 3 star for the cleanliness and the design of the place.

This is my review for the Penthouse at Mastro's, my previous review was for the "regular" restaurant downstairs. My friend who I went with before - he introduced me to the awesomeness that is Mastro's, suggested we try the Penthouse, which had a different menu and a nice view. I met him at the bar and ordered a cocktail before we got seated at our table. The strawberry bliss was really good and strong.

My friend asked to be seated near the window, so we could enjoy the view. The waitress came by with the drink menu and we just decided to switch to red after our cocktails. We decided to share some appetizers - the wagyu beef roll and the wagyu meatballs. I got the bone in filet and my friend decided to treat himself and got the Japanese cut kobe beef. We also shared the cauliflower carbonara and the duck fat potatoes. Probably too much food but everything was delicious! We were debating between our usual butter cake or the "penthouse" chocolate butter cake but was told by the staff that they preferred the OG, so we stuck with what we know and love. Overall an amazing meal but I barely could walk out, I was so full!

Every time we travel from Germany to Los Angeles this is a must go on our schedule. Maestro has this special taste on everything they do. Amazing wine menu, friendly people and super super clean environment. Test the rib eye! It is the best.
