We recently bought an X5 from Maranello. The reason for the 5 start rating is due to the great customer service, product knowledge, patience and willingness to help displayed by our salesperson. He is the reason we bought a car from this dealership. There were certain things that did not impress us about the dealership (finance department confusions) but overall we were happy with our salesperson Vasilios Karteros and the sales manager Alex. I would definitely recommend anybody looking for a BMW to reach out to Vas.

Finding a good BMW dealership is difficult. Mercedes dealerships in the GTA are corporately-owned, which makes them more consistent. If you have a problem, getting a solution is much easier. In contrast, BMW dealerships are privately-owned. Instead of being more flexible and responsive, it sometimes feels like their profits take precedence over customer satisfaction and BMW's reputation.
THE CONTENDERS
Here's are dealerships I contacted before leasing an X5 diesel:
- BMW Toronto: this former corporately-owned store looks impressive but is disappointing. The sales rep didn't follow up as promised. An online request for a quote went unanswered. How are you supposed to buy?
They own the BMW Etobicoke Service at 1542 The Queensway but that's been shut down after "4 years of successful business".
- Pfaff: this location used to be BMW of Mississauga (where I got my prior BMW in 2005). The new owners have made changes which aren't customer-friendly. The sales rep I've known for years couldn't provide a quote by email due to a "company policy". That wasn't a restriction before. Instead, I had to go to the dealership in person. Normally I wouldn't bother but this time I did. The quote was uncompetitive. However, if I found a better quote elsewhere, they might match it. No thanks. In addition, you're charged $20 day for a service loaner you'd get free elsewhere (plus mileage).
- Budds BMW Oakville: the experience isn't the same as before. My previous rep has a different role. The replacement was another get-the-best-price-and-we'll-match-or-beat-it. Forget that. Give me a good price yourself! I asked for a quote that included Driver Assistance Plus (5AT) and got Driver Assistance (5AS) instead. The rep argued that 5AS had adaptive cruise control. It doesn't! Also, there were numerous extra charges that no one else had, including $200 for fuel ($100+$100).
THE WINNER (4/5)
There's good news. Jonathan Tam at Maranello BMW. We "met" through Unhaggle. His email quote was much better than any other dealership. He made revisions willingly. Best of all, Maranello had an X5 about to go into production. I was able to configure it exactly the way I wanted (including headlight washers). No other dealership suggested a custom build (except BMW Toronto).
The perfect vehicle + a great price + solid service. You'll have difficulty finding anyone who more friendly and accommodating than Jonathan.
THE BAD NEWS (2/5)
My work requires driving to visit clients like doctors, lawyers and successful business owners. If the new X5 wouldn't be ready before the lease on my Mercedes ended, I needed a suitable loaner. Despite advance notice of a month, there was no loaner ready. Unacceptable and stressful!!!
THE REBOUND (5/5)
I got a well-equipped loaner two days later. I can keep it until my vehicle is ready. Bye bye stress. Hello smile :)
The best measure of a dealership is how they resolve problems. I'm now comfortable with Jonathan Tam and Maranello BMW and recommend both. I'm confident that the delivery process and ongoing maintenance will be done properly.

First, getting the best deal which means shopping around and doing research. I came in to service my bimmer (engine oil and plugs). Couple days later I've spotted few oil drops on my driveway. I came back to Maranello to address the issue with the service department. Service department took my bimmer in right away for a check and discovered a leaky front diff seal(completely not related to the service they had recently done). The diff had to be replaced. My service advisor was Terry. I can't express to the fullest my gratefulness. Terry made that experience an absolutely easy one for me. Vehicle was services fast and Terry kept communicating to me during the repair also he did his best to work out a satisfying rental deal for me(vehicle/price) the same time my vehicle was taken into service. Terry thank you very much and the rest of the service crew who got my bimmer back to me so fast.

Quite a surprise getting the sales service from this dealership! John Z was patient, thorough and made the visit a very pleasant experience. Actually already found one and almost bought it from another BMW dealership closer to home. But John s invitation was so sincere and that had me gone in to have a last look. I did not know him and like all stories about walking into an unknown dealership without referrals, I was skeptical to the tilt. But I found choices were ample, on-lot stocks were clean, very presentable showroom (both new and pre-owned). The whole team - sales, manager (pre-owned), finance manager, service manager was 100% synchronized, which really helped to complete the deal. Appreciate all the hard work fellas! This is, I must stress, the most pleasant purchase of the five vehicles (two new, three pre-owned) I bought in the last three years. I had to take my BMW in for service on a damaged tire. Normally I go to BMW Toronto but I just moved to the area and wanted to work with my local dealership. Honestly I was a bit disappointed when I got my car back. The service department did fix my tire in a timely manner. However, I got my car back with no wash, I inquired about refinishing a rim and they focused on talking me out of it, called me and recommended I do a charged tire rebalance which I did, and was told I have no access to a shuttle service. I expected similar service that I have received at BMW Toronto but did not get it.

I was fortunate enough to be greeted by the friendly smile of sir Jon Tam. He was so pleasant and engaging. Jon took the time to find out what kind of lifestyle I have and from there went above and beyond to educate me on different models that would suit both my lifestyle and budget. Furthermore, Jon was a great test-drive passenger he is so authentic, personable and quite funny.

The service I received last week to repair a couple of on going issues with my 2003 M5 went way beyond expectations. Starting with Gianfranco Cavalieve(Johnny Vegas) who put me in the hands of the more than capable Service Advisor Lisa Lum York, who proved to be incredibly helpful in explaining the initial procedures, kept me updated regularly on whatever changes became necessary, informed me to the last details of the cost involved, and graciously called to inform me when the car was ready for pickup.
The overall experience was nothing short of amazing. Should also mention that between Johnny and Lisa, they directed the car to the shop mechanic ( I believe his name is Mario) whom they felt had the experience and know how to do the best job on the car, and I appreciate the insight and and attention to details that was given to this job.
I would highly recommend Maranello BMW as a shop for anyone with a BMW to take their car for service, and I am tremendously happy with the level of service that I received from Johnny, Lisa and Mario.

They inspected my vehicle, took my keys. After service was done they called and said "we found a nail in your tire" and took no responsibility for it.
Than I picked up the key and found the car dirty dispute the fact that exterior wash was included in the service. I asked the lady and she referred me to the manager Jeff. Rude people in Service..took my car in with one engine light..got it repaired and brought the car back.the light was back the same day so I took the car back..and instead of repairing my car they completely made it stop working. You don't expect to pay $11,000 on car service..only to have it stop working. Workers tried to avoid having to speak with me..in the end I had spent so much money that I could have put towards a new vehicle if there was really a problem they could not fix..clearly the staff in service is untrained if they could not determine what was wrong with the car..and messed around with random things that completely made the car not even go into drive. Repeatedly found myself being lied to by the service manager about what was wrong..he said one thing then switched it up and said something else. Never again will I ever go to this dealership or even recommend it to anyone. HORRIBLE. Also, not to mention I was looking at some of their cars while there and when I started one..an engine light was already on in this vehicle..they don't sell properly functioning vehicles..how can a car at a dealership on sale with a engine light already visible..

He didn't even ask me any questions about me how did he create a 'profile' for me??? This dealership is a complete disaster. I usually deal with PFAFF BMW in Mississauga and they have stellar service. Maranello is a joke. I had tranny issues with my 5 series 535i that was caused from a recall the provoked it. These people were the closest to my work so I drop my car there. I get a call to come by. I go by and I'm told by 2 very arrogant service advisers that I need a brand new tranny and it would cost 18 grand. A 3 year old 80 thousand dollar BMW with 80 thousand clicks doesn't get tranny issues just like that. These idiots didn't even put it on a hoist and or inspect it properly. I had it towed to PFAFF and they had the car for a few days inspecting and testing it thoroughly. They went the extra mile and got BMW head office involved and I was full covered and rec'd a brand new tranny and had the recall the damaged the original tranny fixed only having to pay 1000 for labor. 1000 dollars versus 18,000 dollars....you do the math people. I don't care how long Maranello has been in business but this dealer is a scam looking for a place to happen. Teach your staff how to do their jobs correctly.

When the time came to renew our lease, I simply contacted Maranello via phone and I was refereed to John Pavunkovic. I had several questions and unsure to lease a 320i or 330i. John asked me a few questions and learned about our goals and expectations and made a recommendation that suited our needs and budget. When I requested a few of photos of each model, John drove to their compound and within minutes, snapped a couple of photos and emailed them to me right-away with no hesitation. I didn t have to test drive the car as we currently drive a 3 series BMW, so we signed the papers and completed all truncations via email and without stepping into the deanship, just the way I like it.
John was a pleasure to work with. He was gracious, knowledgable and professional; He also offered me the best customer experience and a deal I was looking for. This is my second experience after Gina became my service advisor. Again, I am totally floored. I am a fan of this girl. Let me tell you my story. The car was giving off some burning smell and I even saw smoke. So I take it in. Last time my service contract took care of it. This time Fine had to go back and forth with the insurance co. She showed them pictures she took on her phone of the part and fought for me and made sure they understood it wasn t the sand part and got it covered under my service contract.
Can you imagine?? I paid nothing! Nothing to get it fixed.
Gina is unbelievable! I have never seen a person more efficient, more customer oriented, more caring and smart in a very long time. She goes the extra mile

They recommended for me to get coolant flush, which I had already done 2 years ago or 20,000km ago. I declined the service as it wasn't needed.......
