I give this airport a 3 star rating. It has been refurbished a bit over the last decade including finally fixing and using the epassport gates. Do Not use the money exchange as their rates are daylight robbery.

Customer service desks for all airline (Emirates) were closed and time for opening stated 1000-2100. I had to wait for nearly an hour before a lady from the boarding desks came over and tried to help me with my enquiries.
Pretty disgusting corporation behind the airport. Really should be ashamed of themselves bunch of coward thieves. Charging tons from drop off, making the place pedestrian unfriendly on purpose and making public transport inefficient here - no wonder this place is terrible. Disgusting, extremely huge markup restaurants inside as well
This is my second favourite airport in the U.K. I love the British Airways lounge it s the best beside Concorde at LHR and JKF. Security is usually speedy and efficient.
Despite works going on in the car park it was still relatively easy to gain access and exit. I would like to see an upgrade to the lighting when parked outside the main building. Pretty dark in areas.
easy airport to get too - though it really should have a rail link from Glasgow Central. bus takes 15 mins from town most time of the day. if you use fast track it doesn't usually take long to get through security
Pretty average large regional airport. Some improvements to departure facilities and now it's free wifi. Lounges very disappointing, Some distance from city centre but good bus and taxi connections.
I ve never ever before had a problem with snow globes during security check, but it seems like they are pretty controversial here in Glasgow! With a globe of approximately 5cm round ball, the manager said it is impossible for me to take it with me to Poland because we cannot judge how much liquid is in it . I ve travelled with HUNDREDS of snow globes in a carry on all around Europe and nobody has ever even said anything, not to mention taken one from me. Or maybe was this simply a mean act of jealousy that the globe was from beautiful Edinburgh in dreadful Glasgow? :/
After security check in we were forced to exit through a gauntlet of perfume shops resulting in an asthma episode for my wife and a severe headache for me. People with sensitivities should be allowed an alternateroute.
Probably the best airport to fly from in the northern half of the UK, arrival at the airport drop off isn't as easy as it used to be but blame that on terrorists. Main concourse where most check-in desks are located is spacious with plenty of room, however there is a shortage of seating are on the ground floor and landside on the upper floor. Not all passengers check-in on the main concourse some charter flights check-in at Terminal 2 (sometimes called "Check-in B") which is a an industrial style building on east side of the main terminal block. The internal layout of the main terminal as changed many times over the years due to increased security demands .Security is very slick and efficient much more so than at Edinburgh . The airport has three piers, the west pier is international and EU, the central one is domestic (mainly BA) and ithe small east pier for highlands and islands services (mainly Logan Air). The gates on west and central piers have Avio Bridges or Jetways for easy of aircraft boarding. After security the west pier the layout of the terminal forces passenger to zig-zag through expensive retail outlets selling to use the local Glasgow expression "gallus" items, I know some people love these so called "duty free" shops but I don't and find that are of the airport claustrophobic and unpleasant. Both the west and central piers have spacious comfortable seating areas and lounges. For inbound EU passengers Passport Control is pretty slick, baggage reclaim time is about average, and Customs works smoothly. If you are using a taxi for the next stage of your journey the taxi rank are is controlled by airport staff who assist passengers and deter queue jumping, Bus service run between the airport and two railway stations, Paisley Gilmour Street and also Glasgow Central.
Always been happy (not ecstatic) when departing or arriving here. It is a good principal airport that more than holds its own including when compared to some nations national airports.
Why anybody would want to book a flight via the airport web site beats me as there are far better places to get a good deal.
We came through enroute to London City. Helpful service, although it would have been better if the airside food/retail area had been better signposted.
Booked in to car park 2 however when we got there the car park was full which I couldn't understand as I booked it 5 months prior. We then had to go all the way round to car park 1 which was a small inconvenience which you don't expect when you pre book
Dick Turpin would be proud. Now, in order to pick someone up from the airport, you are forced to pay at a barrier so you can leave. Bring plenty cash, it's not cheap. Somebody is making thousands each day from this daylight robbery. I won't be back, on principal. Ever.
Never drove to airport and was a bit scared as didn't know where to collect daughter . Got to the drop/pick up zone a little quicker than anticipated . Well sign posted But beware of charges Why its soo expensive I dont know as in these times we have been advised not too use public transport !
No problems at all .. didn't mind losing deodorant & cream over 100ml, at end of the day they do a thorough job for all our safety. On plane chilled after minimal queues, the best roll & bacon in me ready for take off. Easy peasy lol. February flight early morning could be factor in such a stress free experience. Watch this space x
Not the prettiest of buildings but it works well. Security and border control staff are typical friendly Glaswegians who put you at ease immediately and are very very efficient at what they do.
Have been in and out.of Glasgow airport a few times and it has always been a pleasant experience. Would rate it.as one of the best for courteous staff and ease of movement of passengers in and out. Even the security staff is polite. The shops and restaurants in and out are stocked with what you really need at an airport. Keep up the good work!
I was traveling with my type 1 diabetic girlfriend and the security were absolutely horrible to us even though we provided doctors notes that she couldn t use the X-ray scanner. They were very rude and snippy, I was appalled by the service we received. I loved Glasgow, but their airport it more like a circus.
Constantly improving , fast security.good shops and duty free. Good selection of gifts electronic goods perfume aftershave, not to forget spirits and tobacco. Lacoste shops great prices too.
A real shame that the passport checkers when you come home request you take your Scottish insignia off of the passport cover or make you take it out of a 'Scottish Passport cover' We are in Glasgow Scotland folks we are Scottish. time we got our nationality back instead of being anglicised at every turn.
I flew from here last July, I have been in the airport many times before over the years for holidays, this time I was travelling solo and flying with Emirates, my final destination was Malaysia. I was very impressed with the range of shops and restaurants in the terminal (not just the duty-free), you are spoiled for choice. The check-in areas are brilliant and well balanced, with separating the charter and scheduled airlines, lots prefer the check-in to be in one place but I think it's more organised. Security was fast and efficient, I like the fact that you need to scan your boarding pass to enter. I have never been in the business/first class lounges but they certainly on my list to experience! I think the airport could be doing with some decorative artificial palm trees, like the ones in Dubai Int Airport (but not as big obviously), give the Scottish people a WARM TROPICAL WELCOME before their trip. I hope in the future Loganair, will flourish into a global airline and Glasgow to be a connection hub, like the many others, this will generate lots of money for the economy and give people jobs! The customer service received from all over the airport has made me want to fly from here again, also the terminals are spotless and are greatly maintained, thank you Glasgow Airport!
Nicest and easiest to operate through airport i have even flown through. Yeah security gets a bit busy but a lot if people can be trying to get through in the morning but the line moves very fast. Nothi g to fault.
Airport is not big but we found ourselves very well: various restaurants, shops, friendly and helpful staff. Continuous taxis (little waiting) and nice and helpful taxi drivers (the ones we were lucky enough to meet on our trip).
Airport is very good at the basics, easy check-in with the lines at Security moving forward swiftly. When returning to the Airport on an international flight, customs has been better manned recently and again the experience was good with the lines moving constantly with acceptable wait times. Where the airport needs to improve; there are no lounges for international travelers, One World Alliance or Star Alliance and the international departure area (shopping area) was over crowded when I was there in late May. There is an Airport lounge you can pay to enter if you wish, this also allows Priority at security. The airport is very clean however maintenance could be much better. The floor has just been relayed in very nice marble type titles, however I could not help notice, for a floor only recently laid the amount of broken floor tiles and the general finishing quality was poor. I have not seen work so poorly done not even in a third world country airport. This all said year on year the airport is getting better, you can clearly seen there has been a lot of investment. I believe as Scotland's premier airport the team should be aiming for 5 stars, Dubai International Airport (DXB) would be a good benchmark for Glasgow if they want to be in the top tier.
I used Ryanair to Dublin. It is a small airport, but convenience stores, cafes, restaurants, etc. are fulfilling, beautiful, bright and easy to use. Access from city center is also good. Ryan Air does not need to print a ticket if there is an application QR code.
Less than 20 mins from Glasgow City centre the main hub for flights into Scotland Glasgow Airport has fantastic parking services, carhire and public transport and taxi service is good. Fantastic range shops, bars, and restaurants to make your holiday departure stress free. Its good size airport not to big or small just like the city.
If you have mobility problems but do not require assistance, this airport is atrocious. From drop off/pick up to departure gates, the walk is horrendous. The moving walkway, when it worked, went some way to easing the walk. Instead of keeping it in a constant state of repair, it has been removed. Not all disabilities are visible. Sort it out Glasgow Airport.
Passport control returning to Glasgow was a little chaotic, better organisation of queues and use of new technology (passport scan equipment) would make a huge difference.
Nice and small airport. It could do with more shops and better food options. Also, internet is not reliable. Overall, it s clean, organised and efficient. It s also conveniently located.
Yes it's a Good airport to fly from and to fly back to great shops and a supermarket to get something for the flight and something you might need for going hone yes it's (Tesco) Enjoy
I'm a regular flyer to my second home in Spain from Glasgow Airport and I usually have a very good experience. It's not particularly fancy but has everything one would expect at a modern airport.
Great offer of flights. It has free wifi and computers with a printer to print your check in or whatever (paying, of course), which can solve a problem with companies like RyanAir. There are multiple stores and cafes (Starbucks, Tesco Express).
