Nice airport with a good restaurant at the departure hall and lot of places to relax and drink n dine close to your gate
Despite the chaos that must've ensued over the commonwealth games, the staff went out of their way to sort out a cock up by Flybe and helped me get onto my flight. Many thanks to the staff.
Only 1hr free WiFi then you have to pay. Very stingy considering every other airport I've been to offers at least 2hrs.
Not a bad place to spend a couple of hours. Renovations at the moment so probs better in 6 months.
If you are like me and only were there to either drop off or pick up people it is great and hassle free. Loved it.
No queues and the wifi is free for 1 hour. Apart from this, nothing special
Flown from here a few times and it's always a pleasure to do so. Have I also had cause to use medical facilities, where assistance given was world class.
Well run airport, small compared to many but has good connections. Friendly and helpful staff there.
Wierdly set up airport - at least for departures. You go up the stairs for security and then come back down for the gates. The security process is not efficient at all. More than half the bags were sent for additional secucrity causing a bottle neck and long delays. It took the lone agent a long time to go through each bag slowly and at the end almost all were just fine. He would put medication in a zip lock before returning it to the passenger or something like that. Why not ask for this to be done by the passenger at the start to reduce tens of minutes of delay for everyone? After security you must go through a huge duty free store to get to the gates! There's no way around it that I saw and the store is not exactly set up with clear isles or signage. I can only imagine someone being late for a flight and having to run through and find their way out of the gift shop! Finally the upper lounge was not that easy to find.
Glasgow Airport is my favourite airport that I have ever visited so far! The airport is nice and small, and easy to navigate obviously. The check in section is divided into two separate areas. We had flown with Jet 2 from this airport and they checked in from the secondary terminal which is a short 1-2 minute walk between each other. Check In went quickly and smoothly and in no time, we were heading to security. Security was also smooth and quick. Queues were organised, staff were friendly, and overall pretty neat! There was a wide range of shops and restaurant chains in airside, and also a bar called Caledonia. Which had perfect spots for plane spotting out the window. There was also a shop called World Duty Free after security. It included a wide range of perfumes and aftershaves, beauty cosmetics, sweets, alcohol and much much more! WHSmith was also a great store. They were dotted around the airport both airside and before security for easy access. They had stuff like magazines, food and drink, books, stationary and more. I got a tuna mayonnaise sandwich there and the checkouts had self service so no waiting for long periods. Travelling to our gate was no hassle. Short 3-5 Minute walk through several corridors and we were there just in time. Toilets were dotted around the gate corridors too. Departure was quick and on time. Overall a great and fantastic airport on a great location to visit!
Raianer's service was kind to me. I recommend that your site
I only went to watch planes taking off and landing. That was fun.
Terribly quite, looks like C19 taking its toll, quick checkin though and plenty of parking spaces.
The Airport as you would imagine was empty, social distancing was adhered to by everyone, except in the pubs and restaurants!.
Well signposted, easy to navigate and plenty of facilities. Undergoing renovation work when I traveled, should be even better when complete, although, cutting it a bit fine to be done in time for the commonwealth games.
Very well signposted airports, very nice and helpful staff
Very rude airport worker told me I couldn't wait on the lift and I was to use the the stairs. I told him I was in terrible pain with my legs but he just said again to use the stairs as it's only 2 flights. Totally arrogant wee man
No hassles with the information sent during the day .
Very good airport. Fast. Many shopping and large waiting areas. Welcoming staff.
The airport is very quiet due to the pandemic. I felt very safe. Parking for short stay was a bit challenging because parking was only possible outside and ground floor and these places were already quite full.
Great airport. Quickly checked us in and a decent selection of shops cafes and drinking establishments. All in all great service
a great experience everything here is pretty amazing
Good mirror quality and lighting in the guys toilets throughout the airport. 'The mirror man.' The mirror equality crusader....!
Terrible service outsize baggage (Lisa?). Baggage belt broken but space on it. Person made me wait until it was fixed, despite allowing the person in front to leave their bag on the belt. No explanation given. Poor show.
Also - massive queues at security and forced to go through duty free shops (bad if you have mobility issues).
The reduction of single use plastics is commendable when you see paper straws in cafes, however placing these next to plastic single use cutlery shows the lack of focus on the future that must be present at this airport. The lack of awareness by security personnel for technology that removes the liquids restriction just reinforces this, and the requirement to pay to drop off or pick up passengers shows that it's run by monopolistic, old school, out of touch owners
Between the main terminal and T2 there's always smokers that aren't really out the way and not sharing there smoke.
A good number of places to eat, one before security and three or four afterwards. Standard 30 minute free WiFi and no free places to plug on your phone.
No smoking area inside, but dozens of useless stores that sell the same. Friend had 7 hour flight + 3 hours to wait, would assume such a big airport can afford a ventilated room. Free WiFi only for 1 hour in 2018 is horrendious. Then you More
Staff were helpful but overall facilities are average. Lacking in signage and info about transport to Paisley Station (main train into central Glasgow).
A plus is the bus from the airport to the station is really cheap at 10 pence.
Staff are so friendly... Crowded and small... aging facilities... you can take bus to city centre or uber for 15 pound.... if you have many luggage then taxi or uber are better option... also there are shops when you can get sim card with data plan... overall very practical airport...
The place needs modernised in line with the work done in Edinburgh. The shopping area is laid out badly and quite confusing. The check in area is small with little space to wait. People were milling around the entry and exit points making access to the building difficult. We returned from Cyprus early morning. The steps took an age to appear at the plane side. The baggage return system was slow, cases appearing in two stages. The waiting time was lengthy and not what I would expect even at that time in the morning. When our cases were returned they were stained and scratched. Frankly it looked like someone was seriously cheesed off and had been taking it out on the cases. Really not impressed. In short, the owners of the site need to spend some money to upgrade the building to make it user friendly. Doing something with the reclaim area would be a good starting point and maybe asking your people to treat luggage with a bit more respect.
Three quid parking charge to collect someone from the airport, very expensive.
Baggage is a joke, waited 40mins to get off the plane,(bridge was broken) had to get the stairs. Then waited 40 to 50mins when we got to baggage claim. Not happy after a 7hr flight. Six airport staff standing inside on staircase watching three or four ground staff dealing with the situation. Very poor for a 450 passenger plane. Why was the bags not off the plane waiting for us?? Not the first time this has happened coming home from Orlando.
At one in the morning the pick point at the airport could be easier to find. Signs at right angles to the pathway would be visible from a distance. Otherwise OK service.
It's an airport. Plenty of food, trinket shops and newsagents before and after security
Ok. Fairly legible markings and information boards regarding aircraft departures, the only drawback is the permission to form queues at the boarding desk
Ryainar.
Klm are fantastic especially Irene Robinson from servisair
Because it is easy to get to the terminal you want without having to walk long distances to reach your departure gate. A negative point! I could not believe there is not even one mobile phone shop in the airport if a traveller needed to buy a sim card etc. Another negative is Glasgow is the most expensive Scottish airport to departure from to Europe and for long haul flights compared to flight prices at Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Prestwick. Etc. Why?
Small airport providing connectivity. Well organized, courteous staff in and outside airport.
This review is for Kirsteen you will find her right at the front of duty free tell you what on sale and is happy to help you at any point. I meant to write this review weeks ago
Ground transport okay. In accordance with the stated charter clearly displayed in the baggage collection area, the airport particularly in that area fails dismally! Arriving today we & the rest of the passengers waited almost 90 minutes to collect our baggage without any information or explanation. Given that we were also flying Business Class & had Priority baggage - the service if you could call it that, was appalling. We are seasoned travellers & this was by far the worst experience with baggage anywhere in the world!
Polite, friendly staff. Quick through security - annoying compulsory walk through "duty free" but plenty of shops around. Good airport for domestic flights and international too. Really long wait for taxis - something to remember and plan for.
Very confusing road signage ... complex parking arrangements, looks like a 1950's airport with a succession of additions stuck on to each other like multiple generations of chewing gum ... no disabled parking at ground level (maybe there is but we couldn't find ??) .... extremely expensive - complex confusing signage probably specifically designed to increase their revenue .... and to make it even worse there is an added penalty for actually departing from any Scottish airport, apparently imposed by the current shambolic "government".
Passport control queue an absolute nightmare when you come home!!
The passport machines are just useless. Typical Glasgow Airport.
Looked after me very well,as I have to have personal assistance, staff are brilliant
Airport staff polite. Even security. Place is clean good bus to Glasgow.
Can't complain, always my first choice when choosing where to fly out of. Easy to navigate, friendly staff, good choice of food and drink and souvenir shops to pick up gifts when I'm visiting friends in other countries.
Excellent airport , very pleasant and easy experience passing through both on arrival and departure. The airport also has several options to get to Glasgow Central in very short time.
