Big, well organized, first class airport. Excellent customer service.

Terminal b2 is one of the worst in the world
I have no clue why it is operational even though it still under construction
The gates (mine was A16) looks like a warehouse
No chairs, completely empty big surface
And the pathway to the airplan is in the open, not covered, Long distance and no bus
Even worse it was raining and the ground was like a river, not well done for the water to flow to underground

Has only euronet ATMs and they're a big rip off

Departures are fast because of the small airport, but check in is slow because of low capacity. The airport staff is not very polite.

Recently renovated... T1 is not functional anymore. T2 is the one you want to go to! A or B doesn't matter, they are about 100m away from each other.

Upon arrival in the departure hall, it bulged out. People who had to go to the check-in counter did not come through yet. Never seen his long queue (just not outside). Fortunately, we were present at a large amount of time. 1 hour and 45 minutes without luggage. It took 55 minutes before we were through customs ... when we found the way to the gate this was a long way. We had to go outside where another row was. When the door opened, we checked in and were put in a warm shed with lots of people. No plumbing or something to drink. We had saved our last forins for at the airport but have not had the chance. People also needed to go to the toilet. In short Mega large airport, but totally out of order. I've never experienced this in this way. Unfortunately, this is a good time in Budapest.

30 min waiting outside on sun, 30, outside, in front of noisy plane which needed to be refueled and offloaded. No water, no explanation provided. I get that low cost travel is low cost but other airports manage to keep still higher minimum standard regardless of the airline. No need to have fancy red carpet treatment. But this is matter of logistics and organization.

Far too little baggage and passenger checkpoints for this airport. In the guidance system, I felt like a piece of cattle. Everything is too small.
Otherwise, it is like any other airport.

Well, drama. Clutter and disastrous organization, stuffy in the summer and Wizzair's cold plates in the winter. Goal numbers often given at the last minute, poor access to the city at night. Large queues for passport control for flights outside and outside the Schengen area, often not working gates for people with biometric passports.

Check-in, security check, passenger handling, carriage, walking for passengers, etc. nightmare. According to the workers, they pay for an alimony. It does not seem to pay off from the 80 billion annual income either for wages or for development.

I have never seen an airport so badly organised. The queues, whether it be checkin or to pass security are at least 30 minutes long. It s terrible.

Great, many stores and then they make you board out in the cold and make you wait for the plane on the asphalt, in the cold. But also no, thank you.

The main terminal is very nice. Then your gate is A19. You go to have a look, as you have nothing else to do and plan to come back and do some more shopping, depending on how far the gate is.
On the way you notice something is wrong. It is cold and soon you find yourself outside, no toilet, no shop, just a vending machine. Then the gate, it is all you can fear. A big uninsulated, amonia smelling metal box.

This is the worst airport I've ever been. Only the SkyCourt can help to position it into the average (three-stars) category. The luggage trolleys are not free - which tells everything about the philosophy of the airport. If you would like to use a luggage trolley, but don't have any coins (1 EUR or 200 HUF), then it's your unlucky day. Welcome to Hungary.

No staff member speaks proper english, dirty floors, crowded security, but they have a nice smoking area, which is perfect for some planespotting

Large airport not always easy to orient. Passing through fairly tedious security (removed: jacket, scarf, sweater, jewelry, belt and shoes!). Don't speak a word of French and not very friendly. Waiting in a large hangar without heating and without seats for more than 30 minutes! Luggage put in cheking and theft in one of the suitcases !!!!!!!!

Could it not be nationalized, Prime Minister? Or build at least one new one? Shame on the country!

To our surprise, BUD very new and well designed. Clean. Easy to go from point A to B. People we saw were reasonably nice.

Lots of road signs leading you to the airport, from any direction you come. It is well structured, with many parking spaces, information desks. The signs inside are in Hungarian and English. The information TV screens are a bit small and difficult to watch when it is crowded. Friendly and receptive staff. From the airport to Budapest there are enough civilized transport options, at normal prices for each category.

Proudly the worst destination airport I ever visited. Poor infrastructure, total lack of phone chargers, no good or even decent cafes, poor transport with huge delays and borderline retarded employees not capable of saying anything except for "not good". If I was the boss of the place, I would tear it down and rebuild from the scratch with customer experience in mind, then fire the dumb and rude employees (most of the personnel, that is) and hire competent ones instead.

Please take some meaningul action. Today this place is disusgusting.

UPD: no luck with departure either. Mostly rude stuff, terrible logistics, inconvenient gates. Just fix it. You are spoiling Budapest experience for the city guests.

In Qatar Business lounge. The lounge has stained seating, dirty mirror behind mini fridge, crumbs on the floor and is a depressing place to be. The womens toilet has 2 toilets, both have poop stains in them. The toilet seats are wobbly, the floor has dirt and rubbish on it. The fixtures of the washroom are all dirty. I understand that Budapest is not a wealthy country, but water, bleach and a little elbow grease doesn't cost much.
Budapest you do yourselves no favour by having tourist see this as their last memory of your city. Airlines, you also don't do yourselves any favours by allowing this type of lounge.

Everything is slow and inefficient. Poor service throughout.

Somehow those responsible do not take covid-19 seriously. Masks only partially and somehow not distance ... so I would have expected more commitment and respect. Oh yes, unfortunately no lounge open, for a frequent flyer like me, too bad ....

The airport can only be reached by hyena taxi or an hour s bus ride, neither by train nor by metro as at other regular airports. The wifi is slow and the cover of the faux leather chairs in the waiting area is torn.
But the most outrageous is when one arrives. You have to wait a lot for your luggage (I've been to many airports before, but you have to wait an average of 2x to 3x for luggage here), and the fact that you have to pay for the trolley to take out your suitcase is the bottom line!
Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia do not even ask for money for this, even though they are much poorer countries!
Unfortunately, the airport does not shed good light on the country, only the downturn is experienced everywhere!

Clear signage, great seating. The upstairs restaurant has a charging station for phones.

Nice clean airport. There is free wifi for 2 hours, usb sockets for charging gadgets and phones. Duty free is not very big, but enough to buy souvenirs and wine. Although the city will still be cheaper. Customs and security are friendly. You can eat, but a little expensive. Half a liter of water in a cafe is from 3.20 euros, in duty free you can buy for 1.30 euros.

Long waiting time is tedious for the return if not on arrival it is fluid

Decent airport. It's quite small so easy to navigate, however it can be rather crowded at some places. The main hall is nice and modern and has a diverse food court. The food however is incredibly expensive even for an airport, it's priced like Switzerland. (I found that the fruit juice bar left of the KFC had the most reasonable prices for food). There are plenty of free drinking water taps so that is nice. Security was reasonable and boarding is organised very efficietly. if you arrive it's rather difficult to find the exits as they are tucked away in corners.

Disastrous, not bad weather, of course that can happen, but how they managed the emergency (which then there are certain snowfalls also quite frequent I imagine ...): the gate A14 in practice is located outside the main structure and you're inside to a kind of limited heated hangar; at some point they made us go forward to make us stop 20 meters later under a shelter located outdoors, you can imagine that enjoyment have been out there for a good 8 minutes waiting for the green light to get us on the airplane.
For a while, I feared I was on the set of a reality show that included a natural selection of competitors.

The central part of the airport is very nice and modern I can not say otherwise of the part of the airport used for boarding practically a cold shed and to get on the plane you queue outdoors ... without words

Excellent security, but plan on at least 2 hours international. No one's getting past them.

Europe's perhaps worst airport. Crowded, chaotic people and terribly badly signposted. Avoid.

Feeling like in an abattoir. People crammed into a hangar, no air circulation, no seating, no toilets. This they have the nerve to call "gate". I'm at a loss of words. This airport has to be shut down and it's leadership tried. That's no way to treat animals.

Me and my friends waited up to 1 hour to deposit our luggages at check-in desk because they used only 1 desk for several flights causing an absurd waiting queue...
With lowcost flights, you will be redirected to gate A12 to A19 into an orrible structure with no seats.
Waiting times are very very long....The airport is definitely disorganized and you need to be there at least 2h 30 minutes before your flights if you want to get to flight on time!

Pitiful excuse for an airport. Over 80% of the flights delayed without prior notice. In order to see that your flight is delayed you are required to get out of your seat and go check the only board available. Gate announcements are made 10-15 min before the flight and they expect to be on time . Every single flight out of here has an average delay of 30+ min. A trained monkey would be more professional and courteous to the customers than the actual staff who will barely respond to questions showing all the irritation in the world. DO NOT STOP HERE IF YOU HAVE THE CHOICE !

Too small, too slow, too hot. You have to be there at least 2 hours before your flight to get through on time. Be prepared for a lot of waiting especially at check-in.

it's strange that you must pay to get car for the bass.

I love how the architecture lets in natural light. It's one of the few airports where it's nice to sit around. Also, the free wifi is great and very efficient. There are also several eating options and coffee shops.

The slowest luggage pick up in the world. After landing an aircraft 50p by the time your suitcase is in your hand and unfortunately that is the minimum. The baggage of passengers on 1 flight arrives at a difference of 10p.

efficient customs and security check, big shopping area, fair price (a bottle of water cost only 1.3), clear instructions, free WiFi, great atmosphere. Food variety is very. Equipment is complete and convenient. The airport is new and clean.

Worst airport I ve ever been. Small place can't even walk because of the crowd. The information desk is 0.There is no airconditioning very hight temperatures.For sure It will be very very very hard for old people and fammilies with babys .

Wow, I thought I'd seen it all and then I experienced the circus that is Budapest Ferihegy Airport. The most inept of third world countries manage to move passengers more efficiently than these guys. Hungary should hang there collective head in shame that this wart on the map of Budapest is the first and last experience for those visiting this otherwise beautiful city. If I ever manage to get over the experience and decide to come back, I'll be flying in to Vienna and swimming the Danube to Budapest. Trust me, it's faster!

Amazed by the welcoming feeling and the great design of the new departures terminal. A place that makes it easy and not boring to spend 2 hours or more until your flight departs. Many shops, restaurants for all kind of tastes, great views to the airplanes especially in the afternoon when the sun is low!

Staff at checkpoints is a disaster! They could have a law course or a couple more classes. They talk to a man like a dog because he doesn't understand it. You just don't think that! A couple of rentals from your last trip:
"Dumb Dumb I'm talking to the wall ... look! Look you don't understand idiots," he says to two retired aliens. Another speech:
"Come on, fuck this! it's incredible that they are so blind ...."
"take out the laptop! yes yes laptop"
and that is how I got sick of what I've heard in recent years!
Shame on you, these young schoolchildren!

Pretty clean, although organisation needs improvement. There were delays, but that's the airline's fault. Otherwise it was fine. Easy to get through, decent priced meals, well lit.

The airport currency exchange must be cheating on you. They are undermining their country's image.

Good: check in staff (Ryanair) were super friendly and smiling and pleasant. If your flight is at an unpopular time there are less queues and you get through super quick. Plenty of seating once inside and charger ports for those needed.

Bad: not many seats or places to wait in the terminal before you are allowed to check in. Very small and narrow and no place to move as usually a long like for security. Once inside, you can buy food/drinks in either Euros or HUF - DO NOT BUY IN EUROS!! They have the worst exchange rate, they upsized me from 1500 HUF to 6.5 (roughly double). They don t release the gate numbers much earlier than boarding time but that is okay as there is nothing to do in the gates anyway.

Overall definitely not the best airport, but also definitely not the worst.

Too much confusion in the check-in hall, too small for the daily passenger flow.
The security row proved to be much smoother and the controls very efficient.
The path to our Gate, number 16, was unacceptable, in fact we had to go outside (outside it was snowing) and wait for boarding in an unheated shed.
Strange that the flag carrier has this treatment for its passengers.

Good airport. Very convenient connection with the city. There are airport staff to help you get bus tickets to the city. Everyone speaks English, which is a clear plus. Good shops and cafeterias!

Security checks slow enough. Not very polite to wait half an hour in a cold hangar waiting for the plane. Ground staff however very friendly.

5 stars for having a Vodafone shop to get a Hungarian cellphone SIM card, and using the MiniBUD to get to our hotel since we were so tired. 5 star for having the E100 public bus to get us back. 1 star for the terrible long lines to enter Hungary through customs. I have a bad knee and I thought I would die before making it to the security agent. 1 star for having to go down 2 flights of stairs to enter the airport after getting off our 767 from the USA to Budapest. Seriously, they expect everyone on the plane to be able to handle that many steps with hand luggage from an international flight?

Small and nice airport, the terminal is very elegant and modern, it takes a little patience to check in. And in hand luggage control. There is an outdoor area for smokers, the prices on duty free are in euros.

Extremely rude and slow service, worst air port I've ever been to.

The most unfriendly tax refund counter employee in the world. It turned out that we had to do it at the transit airport instead of mailing it in luggage, but without any explanation, he shouted, "Where is your luggage!" and said, "no, bye~~~~ Funny thing is that they made a stamp for the paper to customers who are going to take a same airplane without boarding pass. It feels like a normal local city airport.
It is sensibly close to twice the price in the city, so you should definitely buy souvenirs in the city.
Finally, I think it s a place to eat gnash and ice cream.

filthy disgusting toilets!!! please follow the example of Rome, for example, and have more efficient cleaning staff, this is unacceptable! Arriving yesterday I couldn't use the toilet because I didn't want to put my backpack on the filthy floor that looked like it hasn't been cleaned in many hours!
Also very overpriced and also dirty seats in cafeteria.

A cleaning lady literally excluded me from the toilet, because he does. In vain I told him to get my car up. He told me that the bus was going for him. They use unruly, disrespectful and stupid people.

Sprinklers were leaking throughout the building, the staff at the airport were very unknowledgeable, there was a lack of AC, there was no queueing area at the gates (so people lineup through halls and into stores), and the food court is way to small (every place had 40 person lines). This is all mind boggling given the airport looks very new. A complete lack of planning went into this airport.
