Malev Hungarian Airlines Review

Having read the reviews, I was ready for a lot, arrived at the airport 2 hours before departure, but in fact it turned out that half of this time was better to oversleep) because I flew only with hand luggage, I immediately went to terminal A (to the right when leaving the bus), people less, an automatic gate according to the code from the wizzair application and a security check passed in about 10 minutes. Next is the dutik, food courts, recreation areas. I went to passport control an hour before departure, after it there is another small duty free, and to the gate. The airport is clean, comfortable, despite the huge flow of people it seemed to me that everything works like a clock.

Of course, according to Me; I rate quite high !, and 1 / Ostatni shortcomings! And - what - This' sensible and Great Hungarian People Know It Well, Only - 'No' are always Na'to - Is' there 'o These are money. We send for 'Was Serdeczne-Greetings';).

If you going to pass there the night waiting for you flight you might not even have a place to set. A bit disappointed

Easy to get through, security straight through in 20 mins. Good selection of shops and cafes.

The passage to this airport did not bother me. The most is for departures because I have not found indications for "departures". Then I found out that you have to enter the "arrivals" and then go upstairs.

What a joke airport, for the boarding of some flights take you to a kind of industrial warehouse where you do not even have to sit.

It is also very messy and chaotic at the entrance of the controls.

Things start to look good here.
High security is a big plus.
Quick online check-in and electronic boarding pass.

The night is closed duty free, cafes, etc., there is no internet, you walk because there are no seats, no animal conditions, shame for a European airport. Whoever comes in transit at night sits for hours on stairs or on foot, in terminal 2 B, there are not enough seats

Very inconvenient airport. In winter, people have to walk down the street to the gate where they land. The container itself where the last inspection is performed without heating, just on top of the asphalt, without floor, only one heater on top of the employees is switched on. This summer can still be done, but when it's near zero, it's just some kind of bullying.
Your airport lounge is not open. Toilets are clean and tidy.

Nice shops and cafes BUT during the boarding you need to wait the whole time outside - no matter what weather!!! They rather put you in a queue outside then letting you wait inside.

Small airport perfectly marked. Only when leaving are the buses to go to the city center, tickets are purchased at machines that are in all languages and that accept cash.

The road or public transport to and from the airport is terrible.
If you fly with a so called budget airline they make you feel budget putting you in a hold where you would nornally cattle perhaps. Its a joke but cannot laugh a disaster

For such a European capital with tourist traffic, it is a very small airport .... If you would like to check in at the airport better to think about it again, better via internet with printed tickets or via mobile .... The checks were fast enough. and the staff did a remarkable job ....

Airport not friendly for passengers. In the departure hall on the ground floor there is NOT ONE place for sitting (only for the disabled), and after all, many have to wait several hours to wait for their flight !!! On the second - about 10 seats. Most of the inscriptions in Hungarian and English are found only in the most "strategic" places, but they still need to be seen. Duty Free is not bad and there are enough seats in this room.

Good airport- lots of shops including spar (supermarket) and cigarette shop. Very good transport link which takes you all the way to the centre for very cheap.

SLow check in and even lasssab passport control on the way home .. There is no separate line for families with children and they do not even take them in advance. I don t understand why a 3 year old has to wait minutes for a passport check. Joke..

I was worried about it because I did not like it too much, but I did it quickly without any fuss! I was going through the Netherlands to go to Korea.

Bad structure on everything. It's an airport where you can go out and wait for hangar in the middle of summer when it's 30 degrees hot with a lot of other people, then you have to go in again because the staff are unaware of the situation and they will not notify you if something is wrong .

I did not understand the reason for the negative criticism! We had our tickets on the mobile but we did not have them, there is a machine that prints it in the minute!
We passed control quite quickly, and the store area is big, handsome, clean with plenty of shopping options!

One of the busy airports with terminal 2 divided as A and B. Facilities are not great and they are expanding with more gates. Terminal 1 is far away and it is not operating for travelling public.

Strange airport of course.
On the one hand, a less new, fairly clean, normal modern equipment, self-registration kiosks, large information boards.
But with services for passengers and the technology of maintenance itself, it's just a disaster.
For transit passengers - prlsto nightmare. People go from one flight, wait for another, hoping to sit in comfort, drink kofemv after all.
But (!) There is nothing. Absolutely. Literally. There are no seats, there is no cafe, there are no shops, even vending machines, there is no water to buy, no ... ((You can not get through to a clean area at night, even if you are registered for your flight.
It is striking how people crowd in the crowd on the floor, at the check-in counters, etc. ... In general, ooochen and ooochen is NOT comfortable.

Who travels with low cost airlines has to wait in a hangar. Other services are just fine

Even in Israel with their paranoid security procedures you don t have to put your shoes off. Weird and rudimental rule. More other they don t provide disposable socks, very unhygienic.

Bad and unclear where things are and many broken. (Such as major elevators)

The queue at this airport is organized like in a shithole country. They should ask germans or austrians how to work.

They completely tapped the brand new borondom as they loaded it onto the machine. Their handles were lowered, the inside torn apart.

It's a good airport. Big enough but well organized. Duty free shop is good as well, great choice and decent prices.

Today we are getting ready for Porto with the flight departing at 15.15. The air conditioning in the tin room on the A side is not operated by the airport upon repeated request. The air was suffocating, smelly, several of them became ill.
I do not recommend to anyone!

Terrible airport. A bunch of lines everywhere and for everything. Workers as contemptuous as possible, staged a full check without explaining the reason normally.

Unfortunately, the organization is not very good, not everything goes smoothly. Many times there is little room for the wizards, and enlargement is much needed. Shops and restaurants are prohibitively expensive, although rents are obviously high ... Washrooms are clean and tidy. Passport control should be a Hungarian-only or at least EU-only corridor and should be strictly enforced as elsewhere in Europe.

Beautiful spacious airport, with fantastic service, connected to the whole world, where I always feel welcome.

The airport is modern and clearly laid out. But not too small either, so that one falls into boredom. The WiFi is free, but doesn't always work.
The only negative is the arrival and departure. Here you always have to change from bus to train on the way to the city center. And always validate a new ticket

You have to check in online. But it's unavailable. When you call the airport no one answers. Then you have to pay a fee.its not right

Very efficient and helpful staff! The bus to the nearest metro isn't hard to find unlike the other airports I've been to.

Once you get past check in it's wonderful. Get there really early, because the lines are long.

Uncommon, opaque, terrible. The most disgusting service, the workers are alpaca and apparently hate their jobs. Wherever you go in the world, you can only see better, more transparent flying spaces. It is the most terrible airport where I was in my life. The service also. They look like hate them job. Everywhere in the world can only see better, cleaner, nicer airports.

Endless files, to say that the staff at the controls is rude is an understatement ... my good one learns two words in English, not to scream, and then we'll talk about it. Gate from A12 to A19 in a shed without toilets and with very few chairs and stifling heat.

Could be better the luggage check area. Apart from that just another clean airport

huge number of passengers, few places, few staff. the state of the wcs is unacceptable, even if the few, that is non-Euroregional comfort and not service ... shame on Hungary as it is.

For the cheaper flights people has to go in places like animals. Would be good to start again the Ferihegy 1 or build something normal.

Latest mess is the holding area for low-cost airline travellers. It is a big tent with poor ventilation where you are held until you are allowed to board. Go to the toilet before if you need as there isn't any once going through the gate.

The handling of Wizz-Air at the boarding are pure chicane and the passengers are forced to pay for the hand luggage a surcharge of 25 Euro!

A better choice is a sensible airline, such as the Lufthansa, which flies from Budapest to Frankfurt am Main.

The few toilets in Terminal 2B are poorly maintained.

Big airport wit a lot connections. But infrastructure should be renewed.

I won't give 5 star because. The thing is worst airline and staff.

Terrible prices
Parking is astronomical, it is recommended to park in the nearby Market central

At the B11-16 gates no enough benches or sits, toilets are disgasting, dirty and stinks. They sell 0.5l Evian water for 4.5. They transport passengers to plan by buses however make them wait on it for a long leave bus doors open cold and exhaust gas come in to bus cabin. So 2B terminal is worse then balkan.

A frozen croissant 2 10 is the image of this airport. Expensive, cold inside and uncomfortable.

We waited inside an airplane for 30 minutes, due to missing stair truck. Now we are waiting for our luggage for more than a hour. A/C is bad.

Small but you have to travel a lot to gates. For budget airlines you usually have to wait in a huge metal "container" what gets really hot in summer and really cold in winter.

No working wi-fi, no police (ANYBODY), no AirBaltic stuff

Our plane was delayed by 5 hours, so we were stuck at the airport for a long time. It is indicated everywhere that there is WiFi, I only got it working for 10 minutes, so it was worthless. Also everything closes fairly early which makes it look very deserted at night.

Airport in constant expansion and improvement. For now 3 stars though.

Small little airport but have a good connections. They don't except euros, so make sure you have some forints or money on your credit for coffee or something while you wait for the plane .

The service(Tax refund, immigration...etc) is terrible.

The airport itself is modern and convenient, with the exception of passenger service for night flights. People awaiting departure sleep on metal benches and on the floor. Why not make a paid waiting room with comfortable reclining chairs, working at night? A very good idea is capsules for sleeping.

Half of plane flying from Budapest(that was suppose to depart 19.10 but flight was delayed) to Luton airport was abused, humiliated, and fined without explanation by wizair staff today. Traumatic experience. But apparently that is acceptable standard for the airport.

Airport insufficient for the number of flights and the consequent amount of people. I wonder why they do not reduce the departures in view of a magnification. The security issue does not seem to me to be underestimated. The photos make the idea of a 'normal' Sunday at 18.
Finally really poor food and (like in many other airports) expensive!

The airport is absolutely not thought out for people who do not know Hungarian. Where is passport control, toilets? Who knows.
It's good that we fell on the tail of people from our flight and found passport control, and there everything else was.
There are no toilets in the waiting room. We must either endure before the plane or at home

One of, if not THE absolute worst airports I've ever been to. A completely disorganized mess from start to finish - from check-in / customs, to "customer service", to the bathrooms which looked like an outdoor, poorly maintained, post-apocalyptic world inhabited soley by monsters who piss and deficate on the floor.

The maintenance crew couldn't fix what should have been a 30 minute routine mechanical error in four hours, and when they deplaned us, the airport staff were extremely rude and outright refused to help anybody or answer simple questions. Which lead to a four plus hour delay on a 10+ hour long flight. You could really feel the disgust in the airport staff from our flight crew and every passenger on our flight.

And that was after spending 2 hours just waiting to get to our gate because the employees of the airport don't know how to que people up. Seriously, if you want to cheat the system, and cut lines, the staff will absolutely turn a blind eye. And when you get to the gate, they ask personal and intrusive questions. I will never fly through this airport again.

It's absolutely shameful that this steaming dung heap is either the first or last thing that many visitors of Budapest will see on their trip to a great city.

Planes depart and land on this long stretch of tarmac. Its a small place so really quick and easy to get through and to your gate

The airport was convenient with money changers and a few ATMs where you could withdraw money.

To get to the city in public transport, get a ticket from the ticketing booth in the arrival hall and take bus 200E which will bring you to a metro station where you could take a metro to the city center.

It's not an international airport?... To Tex Free, apply for a ticket Chack In and Tex Free, and then check your luggage...
The waiting line is long... There are no chairs to rest....

small aiport, with not many chairs, and an horrible wifi service ( connection for 2 hrs per device, after those 2 hrs there is not way that device will have wifi again) the only good thing is that they are open 24 hrs for early flights (no restaurants open)

Wc has been bad on Terminal 2B since March 14th, at least we saw it first fast but until today (May 15th) we couldn't fix it ...

It's the biggest international airport of the country. Recently it's been renovated, and refurbished, so it meets EU standards. You have most of the amenities that you'll find at any airport around the world. Be warned though everything is very expensive. Sometimes you'll be paying double the price for things compared to the city. Even franchise restaurants like McDonald's and KFC charge more for everything. The duty-free shops are ok, but don't be fooled they are also more expensive than the shops outside.

Bad service expired food in the restaurant ...very dirty airport and. The worker there are not friendly at all afew who speak english and no smilling at all

No indication on which ticket to take for the bus leading into the city center. For the rest, a normal airport.

Free Internet, spacious and clean. Security check went smooth and staff is definitely more polite than before. If you are still not satisfied, pay for lounge access and be treated even better.

Very large, well organized glamou with nice cafes and restaurants according to tastes and possibilities. The bus is located at the exit of the flight with a few euros will take you to the center of Budapest in about 30 minutes you will be near the Basilica of Santo Stefano taking the number 100. Or with about 30 euros you can take a yellow taxi from the city of Budapest. Very friendly staff. Undergoing restructuring and expansion.

It's very crowded, and everything is going relatively slowly. There are too few seats and they do not stand out enough in visible places of change in flights.

The airport is totally insufficient for the number of visitors coming to Budapest. Having to walk and queue for 10 minutes in -8 C is definitely not a good welcoming to Hungary. The stuff is rude and not really willing to assist you but this is the case everywhere in Budapest. Building a modern safe highway to connect the airport to the city would be a great idea as well.

The staff were friendly but the police were really unkind.

They completely left us outside in the cold to wait for a delayed plane, 6 degrees outside and almost in the dark being 8. Without any information or status about the flight.
