Nice airport, it's a shame they're not doing anything to enforce the wearing of masks or even filling hand sanitizer dispensers (much like this entire country)

It's an okay airport, check in is fast and the building is spacious.security is a rediculous,the staff have an unfriendly attitude.the gates with low cost airlines are like a cattle shed.by passport control it is packed.two immigration officers both slow checking the passports.it took me like 20mins to get past it.And a warning to passengers that some of the bag handlers are stealing from peoples bags so keep your valuables in carry on luggage at all time.

The exchange at the airport charges DISGUSTINGLY expensive rate. Go exchange your money in the city instead.

The airport is like that, but I think it would be possible to remove fake beggars, including sneaky credit card vendors.

from the airport to Budapest and vice versa is 30% more expensive than driving in Budapest
all praise for services, cleanliness, kindness and access to the airport.

Comfortable nice place. There are really creative pieces of furniture which are just brilliant for waiting your flight.

Slowest baggage handlers ever experienced. Ended up waiting longer for the bags arriving from the plane than the actual time traveled on the plane

Nice airport. If you spend the night in it, then there are many places in the arrivals area of Terminal B, though there are drafts here. And during my stay at the airport there was a little draft.
There is free Wi-Fi, which is very convenient for the opportunity to pass the time waiting for the flight. But with sockets here is tight. I saw only in the toilets and a couple opposite the exit who arrived and at the ATM in terminal B.

Although 80% of the passengers are from the EU, the airport allocates only 15% of its passport control gates to EU citizens. Is this a European airport serving EU citizens?

The boarding gates are like horse stable or an industrial warehouse of chickens, cold and sad.

The free WiFi never works, so the only choice is to enter the VIP lounge, pretend you are interested in their services, and copy the password of network SkyCourt-Lounge visible from the reception (usually the password is Skycourt1).

When is rainy there are leaks everywhere.

And the bus route (200E) from the airport to the city makes you think "what a hell I am doing in Chernobyl or in the Unpopular Republic of North Korea", super sad areas and a bumpy asphalt.

The rest of the airport is fine.

Looks like the locals can't manage a good connection to the airport.

Terminal 2A is closed. Anyway, nice place, but almost only the staff works. It is rare to see 1-1 passengers.

Small airport, where you can find what you need. I stayed here overnight and it was totally ok. Staff are very tolerant. Very good is also big and cheap supermarket where you can find everything for standard price (1,5l water for 0.3 ). Paradises for budget travelers.

How I fall in love in Budapest city,this airport took of my impression.Airport is small and doesn't dispatch crowds of people flowing through terminal.There are thousands of people trying to get to the plane through control.We were waiting almost hour.Everyone pushing each other,there is nobody to guide you and take care of.Absolutely no organization!Be aware and take extra time!

The worst airport in the world. Absolutely too little for all the touristic traffic of Budapest. The longest lines I have ever seen before the security check-in. BE VERY CAREFUL

Very crowded! I dont know if its always like the day I was there, but there is not enough space for the number of people inside. Maybe because of Wizz. Long lines. A bit difficult to find what your looking for.

But the staff is very informative and helpful. Almost every one knows english.

Don't come too early. You need to wait in the hall with full of people. You can only check in 2 hours before. The staff at the coffee shop are grumpy... Not the best airport....

The gate reserved for Italians is a sort of shed similar to a stable for animals, there is no bathroom or seating, you have to sit on the floor. For the rest the airport is modern and all in all nice.

Never ever change your currency inside this airport especially after the luggage claim area. The rates are so low. Wish someone told me

Airport divided into two terminals 2A and 2B, not very big for being the airport of a European capital but still efficient.
The airport is connected to the metro stop via the 200E bus (journey time approximately 25 minutes) and the ticket is purchased at the machines located near the bus stop (cash or credit card payment, does not accept euros).
The best shops and restaurants can be found after the control area, immediately after the control area there is a large "square" with many shops, bars, fast food restaurants and an ATM.
The prices of the drinks are a bit expensive considering the local standard of living but you have to consider that you are still inside an airport and take advantage of the passenger's need.
To eat at "human" price I recommend Burger King or KFC located on the upper floor. The gates are divided into A (Schengen destinations) and B (non-Schengen destinations and therefore passport control).
In the gate area A there are still many shops and bars while the boarding area B is very sparse. The thing that I didn't like very much was the considerable distance to walk outside (albeit under a canopy) to board the plane or after it landed.
Maybe it could be uncomfortable in winter, in strong winds or for elderly or people with walking problems.
However overall a modern and efficient airport, superior to many Italian airports.

We have to wait for 40 minutes for the luggage, and if it takes 1 minute longer to get to the gate, the passenger has to run back to get another x firint

If you fly from St. Petersburg, then there is a huge queue at passport control. Only 4 windows work. Waiting time 40 minutes. Horror

Places are nice but passengers handling where slow.

Absolutely shocking experience both in arrivals and departures. They made us wait over an hour for our bags when our flight was the only one that had arrived!
Departures also terrible. Over 2 hours flight delay on a short flight (an unacceptable number of other flights were also delayed). No water refill options at this international airport! Ridiculously wasteful not to mention expensive! The staff that informed us that they weren t allowed to give us tap water from their kitchen was also very rude. Very sad experience.

Certainly the airport is small for the number of people it houses daily. This makes it sometimes overwhelming. There are a few (not to mention some power sockets for charging the phone.) There are two charging sources with several usb drives, but of course, the load is slow and is usually crowded, in the duty free zone, on the top floor, You can find outlets in the many restaurants there are, but of course, you have to consume.The passport control queues are immense and the bathrooms can be improved in terms of cleanliness.However, my experience was good, but the airport, especially in the Check-in area is very small, what I like most in the spar of the entrance to the airport, the prices are good and you can find everything in the rest of establishments the prices are somewhat exorbitant.

Decent departures terminal. Reasonable food court. Minus 2 stars for the bathrooms (dirty and dilapidated) and the 3rd world state of departure gates - no seating, looks more like a cattle pen.
Also, as per other reviews - prepare yourself for lots of queuing and waiting

Clean but quiet ... there are hardly any passengers!
The Holiday car park has been super, but it is a horror. I was there for an hour while I helped my daughter take the wine bars to the terminal, and for that I had to pay 3500 HUF. :(

One of the worst airports in Europe. Registration areas of the both terminals are crowded, there are almost no places to sit or eat.

We waited for our suitcases for about 1 hour ... The result was to get it broken and with 3 peaches ... Unfortunately, no one was responsible. Unacceptable!

One of the best airport in Europe. Despite the christmas season and a lot of people it took us only 12 minutes to drop the baggage and pass security. It is our family personal record so far. We travelled with a small child and did not ask anything special, but were got priority handling by airways and airport staff. Very well done. We do not receive this level of attitude in other airports usually.

Not too crowded today. It was pretty seamless travel experience.

Staff rather unpleasant and access to the city center almost impossible by any means other than the taxi .. Some areas are in a deplorable state.

The boarding gates a12-a19 are outside in a cold building who looks like a warehouse without any bench, no toilet and nothing to eat or drink.

Well completely renovated, beautiful, quality for me. There are toilets in so many places !!! You can t get so excited not to find one and it s all clean, quality, woow.
They re basically nice except for the security check section, but they don t even peek there either. Drinks are thrown away. But after that, you can buy any size, and even sell them on the rap.
The post-security check is , but beautiful. Huhh, those stores, supply, quality, you have to pay, but you can still. There is a suitcase shot 2 hours before departure, the gate opening is about 1 hour before departure.

It's a very nice airport with great help full staff at the airport.

Very small airport as for European county capital. Budapest is a city with a great amount of tourists and this airport just can not serve their needs. The lines in this place are PERMANENT, it means that you should better come to the airport couple hours earlier in order to be on time on your flight. The overall atmosphere inside is also messed up. Dirty and crowded place that needs much of improvement.

Worst airport ever. No proper lines for travelers and everything was chaotic.

It does not look like an international airport at the level of the big cities, but it is still very efficient and well connected to the urban center.

Cleaning is not good. Since it is small, the doors are easily accessible. The sales staff are generally cold.

Extremely rude staff, to wait for boarding passengers are left outdoors without even a cover from the sun or rain at the mercy of the bad weather

Modern look but a bit small for check in area and information/helpdesk is the worst ever seen (which means almost none) very bad as a front door for the country to those who are flying on vacations. Any annoucements by loudpeaker is not understandable. Not well air-conditioned. I was using jeans and t-shirt and still almost sweating. Some coffee shops and restaurants need to have their own fans, terrible.
Definetely not an airport made for tourism.
And also not environment friendly. Spotlights were on even with high sun light through toproof windows.

Medium experience, small but easy to orient field, hassle-free security procedures, unattractive fruit duty.

I had a chance to see the review !! I've opened all the pouches and everything, and I have not even closed the bag properly, and I have seen my carrier open from a distance.

Too small of an airport for so many incoming flights, all restaurants close at 9pm.- why have flights at midnight's then ?

new terminal was very nice. Ferihegy 1 is small, but good airport and operational as it should.

Clean, neat. But why not have a smoking room? They do not think of passengers flying from Bp overseas, often spending 10 to 16 hours in the air. You can't light a plane on a plane, but why not? They could really make a suitable room in the waiting room.

Found the queues at bag drop check in to be both long and slow, with the desks understaffed. Also very long queues to pass through security and customer service at the food and retail outlets were attrocious. Budapest is a fine city in a fine country but Budapest Airport lets the city and country down!

Awful waiting time, had to wait in the cold for 20 minutes please hire some competent people to manage the airport.

Waiting in a warehouse. Wizz air employees should get a new job if they hate their current job. You ask them something and they look bothered by your presence. It wasn t only once.

Pretty modern airport. Lots of food options. The Lufthansa lounge was not open at 5:30am as we waited for our flight, even though other lounges were.

What can you say, you have to go through, because the trip by bus or train takes from Berlin 11 hours and more. It is a small airport where all paths are quite short, however, a half hour felt to run across the tarmac to get to the plane.

Relatively good small airport. True is not cheap. Its ok airport. Only not cheap if you want food or drink.

Small airport, quite modern and well equipped. Everything breaks when you go down the runway and after a walk they put you in a hangar pushing in a line more people than you can fit, (I upload the photo) and make you wait a lot of time standing and pressed until the plane ready. And on top of that, the employees yell at you so that we can go ahead and press ourselves so that more people keep coming in. It looked like a cattle fair.

In 2018 i think that is not a worse airport than this . No indicators , no international area , the staff barely speaks any english and the terminals looks like a bus stop-over in the the smallest city in Romania , Moldova, Bulgaria . There s nothing as worse as this ...

Sloppy thoughtless and unprofessional place. This photo says it all. They cannot even align the tables at security to make the trays move smoothly. It is a miracle planes still fly from here.

ATTENTION all VEGANS
There is no vegan offering at the airport whatsoever, I tried to pick a sandwich up prior to the flight but sadly not one place has a single variety. Bring your own food.

Airport is acceptable. I don t feel it stands out as particularly poor like it did a few years ago, however, a long way from a decent european one.

The entrance does not seem to promise anything in particular but, once the checks are completed, it proves to be modern and well maintained. The food court is well supplied and it is pleasant to spend time between the shops

1 single restroom with 4 pissoirs and literally 4 toilets (like 4 seats in total... NOT 4 bathrooms) are available in total for male travellers waiting after security at the main area of the airport. Ladies' room has similar size.

These serve several restaurants, lounges and the whole shopping area. In general toilets are dirty and overused. There are no paper towels, taps often are broken. There is no soap usually to wash your hands.

Very clean,staff very friendly, all trying to keep the social distancing as much as possible, antibacterial handgel available.
It was a good experience!!
