Pros:

Pros:
- it is just one step away from Masjid Al Haram
- one step from shopping malls, and also culinary places
- friendly staffs, they tried to speak bahasa Indonesia since many guests come from Indonesia
- clean spacy room

Room for improvement:
- daily room cleaning needs to be improved by vacuum cleaning, bed sheet were not changed for days
- restaurant menus are similar for 5 days (full board, 3 times a day), since check in to check out, need more variations, although they tried to served with Indonesian food, but the taste are not that good, probably middle eastern food can be served for some times
- toilet rooms in PL are wet during peak eating time
- toilet flush in PL is hidden by closet cover...wrong design?

Fancy place, great location and worst customer service experience ever.
No parking so don t bring your car.
For the amount of money I paid I would expect a way better room and breakfast!
Very plain breakfast, have seen hotels way less fancier than this one with better breakfast options.
In my opinion there are better options in Makkah than this one. Don t let the name and place fool you.

I am staying in Fairmont hotels around the world, but this time I am really can't understand. The reception is big but all the time is traffic, to ask about any information it takes around 20 min. Second, the breakfast is very bad, really you don't have any option (plus, what really make me upset: everyone told is a different place where we can take it, and around 30 min, we were move around to find the restaurant and then when we were arrive already, the girl just close her laptop and move to other restaurant without any word). The room is so normal, but the view is extremely bad. Really this price is not cost this money. Just one good thing is location.

Checked in into Hotel Ghuffran not Fairmont which is located just next door. Highly recommended this hotel due to its locality and closeness to Masjidil Haram. Good food, good ambience and fully equipped for people going for umrah. Just about 50-60 meters to the mosque.

Stayed mid April 2019, the room is nice, superb location, staff are quite helpful.

However, the restaurant menu is rather disappointing, especially the Asian / Indonesian menu. Lack of varieties and poor taste for lunch and dinner.
Around SAR 70 difference with the European menu.
Would rather stay in the hotel next door in next building which provide much more varieties with in menu and taste.

The hotel location is prime location which s next to the almasjed Alharam. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms is clean and comfortable. Some the restaurants overlook the Masjed.
What I did not know is the check in time is 5 PM and it was not clear in the website. However, the hotel avail a safe box and stored my luggage until we finished the Umrah and the room is ready. I suggest you plan to arrive in the evening to get your room ready by arrival time.
Being in such location with such towers the elevators is always full and get you late. You better leave earlier than normal time.

The location of this hotel is perfect. Very convenient to go back and forth to Haram however, on prayer times, the lifts are very busy and take long. So make sure to leave earlier for prayer.

Other than the location, I must say the overall experience was disappointing and unpleasant! Staff are unprofessional and rude (at least those I met at the reception) with no sense of sensitivity to any personal or family concerns.

I was checking in with family and we had 2 rooms booked. I asked the reception for rooms in the same floor which he explained is not available. So I asked if we can be in close floors. I was given a room in 20th floor and family in the 15th to find out there are two separate lifts for these rooms. Which means I need to come back to reception everytime and take another lift to go to my family's.

After knowing that, we went to our rooms assuming these are the only ones available to find my room so smelly! It smelled like a smoking room!! And noticed that someone has coverd the smoke detector with a shower cap! You can see that in the pictures I attached. I went down to the reception to complain since I couldn't stand the smell. The receptionist this time was trying to help but explained there are no smoking rooms in the hotel! I told her somebody had definitely smoked in that room for so long and showed her the picture. She asked me to speak to the Duty Manager who was very insensitive and handled the situation unprofessionally. I approached him to explain what my situation was and his first reply was "Ok we will move you no need to show me anything. You are given a room on 11th floor!" The manager didnt show any empathy, didnt apologize or even listen to my complain and difenatly didnt pay attention while talking to me and kept working on his computer. We were given the new room after 2 hours of reporting this incident which means we had to wait in the smoking smelly room.

Cleanliness overall was acceptable (not Fairmont standards else where).

Breakfast was very tasteless, cold and limited selection. But the view was amazing!

Unprofessional staff.. unpleasant experience
