Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel Review

Its a nice hotel, but it looks like its not well maintained like it should be for a 5 start hotel. But the bed and pillow are heavenly.

Varieties of Eastern and Western food can be obtained on the food court floor. The supermarket and department store open 24hours. Clean environment.

Room is excellent, perfectly easy to pray at Al Haram.

By the time you get through the two sets of lifts and umpteen amount of floors, whilst trying to constantly unblock your ears, walk through the thick clouds of constantly burning incense throughout the lobby area.. get to the bottom floor, then fight your way through the masses of people in the shopping centre to eventually get out to the haram grounds could take you anything upto twenty minutes! You re better off staying at a smaller hotel, a short five to ten minute walk in the fresh air amongst the buzz of Makkah s streets straight to the Haram. For the views we had a back of the city facing room, the windows were beyond filthy so for all the glamour of the room, the views- even if the city itself, were obstructed by the dirt plastered all over the windows. The beds were uncomfortable, dipped towards the head and raised at the feet so it was almost like you were elevated. The room was a decent spacious size, the shower/bathroom area was nice. Housekeeping is hit and miss I m afraid. Sometimes they ll vacuum, most of the time they won t, a few times they didn t wash the cups or change them, they didn t take away the rubbish, nor give us enough towels, it always seemed like they were in such a rush that service was literally for a few minutes and even that was too long. Laundry is expensive, so rather bring some washing powder and do it yourself, dries really quickly just out in the room. Breakfast up in the saudi restaurant was pleasant, lots of variety and fresh foods available, nice atmosphere, although you may struggle to get milk in your tea at busy periods! All in all, for the purpose of a pilgrim, it is far too much hassle staying here, and that awful shopping mall makes it worse, if you re there for the purpose of Allah and Allah alone, stay at something smaller and more convenient and pleasant.

Amazing how the service and everyone are feel welcome. Love that employees prioritize childrens, elderly and mothers with childrens first. My wife and son are having a wonderful stay at the hotel. In Sha Allah will definitely stay here if there is a provision to perform umrah&hajj. Hopefully simplified. Amin Ya Allah.

Had the best stay here during our Umera. The hotel had the perfect location, just mins from the Masjid al-Haram. The staff was very very friendly and helpful.

The atmosphere and decor was on point. There was this fragrance in the whole hotel which was just so delightful. They had fresh flowers throughout as well.

The buffet breakfast had everything you can imagine and it tasted great too. They had an omelet station where you could personalize each omelet.

We got the signature suite with multiple beds (3 beds). The room was spacious and had everything you needed.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to all our family and friends!

Pros:
- Very near to Al Haram
- Located above the Al Bayt Mall
- Spacious room and lots of elevator as well

Area of improvement:
- For 5 stars hotel, the menu selection can be added.

I stayed for a week in feb 2019, had an amazing experience. i am living in saudi arabia for years now and i am blessed by getting chance to visit makkah many times; alhamdulilah but the stay i had in fairmount makkah clock royal tower was unmatchable, from parking to rooms, from reception to room service was really good. definitely would be my 1st choice for my future trips as not only me but my whole family liked this hotel from all aspects specially prayers facility at one of the floor where you can go by lift and can join Al-Haram prayers.

It's not easy to catch the pray because of the elevators which are very slow. One elevator to another elevator and waiting time is higher than normal. So i don't recommend.

Our family enjoy lunch,buffet and food is nice service given by kazi and staff is extermely good.

The holliest city in islam. Nothing more or less is needed to be said.

Luxurious- OK location and breakfast
You have to walk till the end of clock tower.. all the other hotels are better located. Alhamdolillah offcourse any hotel within clock tower is great location but comparitively its at the end. Nice rooms and very nice mosque at level S2 if you are in a hurry.

One of the best hotels there I wonder with my mum family the room was spacious it was suite bedroom bathroom and the living area if you was great and I would prefer if they would lower the prices for a little bit the parking was good when I went inside and told him that I had reservations but when it was time to check out and the rental company want to bring me the car the communication between the hotel and the scary that is running the parking lot was a bit slow I had to take care of it my self

You have to build up in order to make space for all the people visiting. Only one problems with staying at hotels within the clock tower, takes for ever to get to the haram looking at 15 to 20mins. Better to stay at the hilton or others on either side, less then 3 min walk.

1. Value for money 4/5.
2. I wished for a more royal breakfast. Alhamdulellah, decent breakfast is available.
3. Parking Is present upon Availability. If you are lucky, this is a great deal.
4. The crib, which is also upon availability, was great and clean!

Room is extremely spacious. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are beautiful. Lovely distance to the haram. Definitely worthwhile coming back to stay here!

disaster service and amenities. When you are booking fairmont, and the result what you see when you arrive in your room is disaster. The only good thing is the holy kaaba view. the mattress was uncomfortable, when we called maintenance, they checked and told us it is broken mattress. They brought another stupid mattress but left the old one inside saying they dont have place for the old one.
The hair dryer was broken and giving rocking noise like electrical shocks. I mean why would anyone stay here with this type of service? Bad place to stay.

Mohammad kamal and Fahad are the two awesom guys we met there .Their service was very good and very friendly. Our family had a beautiful tome under their service they really take good care of you. Definitely would go back to the same place in future.
Aldera Saudi restaurant was the place very clean and friendly service they treat you like your family.

I enjoyed my stay at Fairmont Mecca. Amal at Health Club is very sweet and helpful. It s a ladies only gym, as an American female Muslim it gave me an opportunity to work out as long as I wanted and felt very comfortable in this facility . I recommend that all the female guests take time and visit the fitness club .

Extremely good place in holy city. Haram is very near as well as variety of food opportunities.

Good:
Helpful and friendly staffs, satisfying buffet, responsive service. Clean and fancy lobby and room.

Bad:
Strange security policy; groups waiting at the lobby were asked to move away to the back, near the lifts. They want the business but not ready for the crowd!!
House keeping were too lazy to make up the room even when the sign was switched on. House keeping guy knocked the door when we came back in the afternoon while DO-NOT-DISTURB sign was switched on!i

I've been visiting the Fairmont in the past and noticed their service quality, unfortunately, deteriorating over the years! Their food quality has become much worse compared to when it first opened! My room was not cleaned! The flush is broken, and sewage offensive oder is coming out the drain in the bathroom!

Unfortunately, i would not recommend the Fairmont for anyone!:(

Our family had break fast in lezzet restaurant the food and buffet is mouth watering today we nasi goreng thanks chef so wonderful breakfast,service given by kazi is so wonderful and so proffesional, he came to ur table and about food and service quality by proffesioal way .

I found the reception service is very poor while the reviews here is extremely different

Located very close at Haram the Holy Mosque. Very neat and clean rooms. Very beautiful Qaba view from Hotel prayer room. Have to change lifts to reach holy mosque.

Luxury Hotel right beside the Masjidil haram... perfect location, great food, warm and friendly staff at Al Dira Restaurant also at Lezette Restaurant even the food was amazing from the room service... definitely will come back Insyaa ALLAH

For such a hotel. It needa to be updated to having a USB. A 220v socket. And a shower that doesnt throw water outside the shower area

Fabulous facilities and friendly staff made our stay most enjoyable Yunis in particular provided excellent service. Buffet was varied, everything for every tast. Beautiful hotel. We would definitely stay here again
