The best there is available. It is literally part of Kaaba, and that can create problems at rush hours during Hajj when the police close the entry gates of Haram an hour before prayer time. If you happen to be outside Haram during that time you will have to wait on the road for 1-2 hours. Explaining to the Shurta (police) that you are staying in the hotel won't help.

Very nice hotel. Direct access to masjid. Hotel room servislces are good. Variety of food available. Good view from top floors. We got a room with haram view from top. It is like eagle eye view of the masjid haram.Have special prayer room with direct access to masjid haram where you can follow the salary with jamrath from the hotel.

Although the hotel is absolutely stunning and definitely 5 stars my main concern was that you needed two lifts to go down to the ground floor to the masjid and there was a prayer room on one of the floors. This resulted in congestion in the lifts and being late to salah. One of my roommates was waiting around an hour for a lift! Furthermore the breakfast on floor 29 was ok but they always put the same food out everyday so got boring by the end. Overall the main reason why you go to makkah is to pray in the masjid however this hotel restricted this on many occasions.

Sits right outside the Haram Shareef, a grandeur place boasting multi level shopping mall and a luxury 5 star hotel. Rooms are super spacious, well furnished with quality and comfort. Surrounding area bustles with small shops, food arcades, grocery stores etc. But don't expect top notch customer service or courteous, warm welcoming gestures from the hotel staff that you would get in a hotel of this class in most other countries.

for a luxury hotel and 5 star its ok, the room is new with all amenities you need, refrigerator, coffee and tea, water bottles all available, the bathroom is super clean and absolutely beautiful, the bed is one the most comfortable beds i ever slept in, they offer a daily change for your bed sheets which i found is really hard in most hotels, my only problem is the breakfast compared to lower grade hotels around the makkah this one is cheap breakfast only eggs station is decent other than that its not worth it

Great location as Swissitel Al-Maqam is on the famous clock tower building. It is on the Holy Kaba area. You can pray from hotel prayer room, and all rooms has audio system so that you can hear the Holy Kaba Azan and prayers taking place in jamat.
The tower building has Abraj Hypermarket a huge one, food court, shopping mall. You can buy your daily food from there.
Restaurant breakfast had lot of varieties, though repeated every day.
Restaurant staff are not well-behaved except one or two Sri Lankan staff. Arab people waste a lot of food which is very sad and surprising to see while the other Arab families are dying out of hunger in Yemen, Syria, Iraq. Most Arabs are rude, unruly, irrespective of their gender.
Room was cleaned every day, staff from Bangladesh did a great job. Water in shower area recedes very slow. They tried to repair it, but it did not help much.
Staff in luggage section, Nahid was excellent. He helped n guided us explaining to get to the different part of the hotel.
It was a wonderful experience to stay in this hotel on the 40th floor with city view.

Fairmont Makkah exceeded all expectations but most importantly it made our trip and umrah a delightful experience. The facilities and rooms were exceptional. The staff are fantastic and the service is fabulous. The food served at breakfast was wonderful. The hotel's asset is it's staff especially when it comes to language and providing extra service. A special thank you to Omar Luqmani from Reception Desk who welcomed us with a great attitude and made our staying arrangements very comfortable. Another special thank you to Sirajul Malla from the 29th floor restaurant for wonderful service. The prayer room was one of the highlights for us as was the in-room azan from the Haram. Not to mention the views of Al Haram - all these were just among the facilities that will ease your umrah journey and make it extra special.
We are ooking forward to staying here again, InsyAllah.

This hotel has been my favourite since my last 4 visits. I even stayed here with my family in February this year. My family was coming for hajj and when we went to the tour operator I asked where our stay would be? He said Pullman Makkah. I requested him for stay in Fairmont he said I cannot as I have bookings for Pullman. I left my family contacted another tour operator who was making our stay in Fairmont. I paid Rupees 75000 extra to tour operator just to stay in Fairmont hotel. I am really disappointed to see the dining standard at the breakfast. Not even omlette was available. I have to wait for 35 minutes to get normal water that is not cold. How many resources of hotel does it take to have an additional waterpoint that contains "not cold water". Most of the guests have bad throat during Hajj and Umra and need normal water. I felt as if i was getting the food from a charity instead of a hotel. I am mentioning the breakfast on 10 August 2018. I think even a 1 star hotel will serve better than this 5 star. Utter disappointment and disgrace to dine here really.
