My mother has received outstanding care on the ICU floor. Dr. Dwosh and his team are amazing. They show compassion and concern for the patient and family. What I found to be great was how the rounds are done by the doctor along with the pharmacist and nursing etc. By having this team working together it allows for the best communication and ultimately best care for all ICU patients. Great Work!

If I could give this institution zero stars I would since they LOVE to harass people for donations , especially ones (like myself) who do not live in that area. Even after repeated calls and telling them to put me on their do not call lists, they still call and harass.

Would be nice to see that so called "Hospital" go up in flames, with only the ones who do the harassing for donation in the building at the time

Today I had A procedure at the Hospital. I took blood test and Covid-19 test last week . Took time off from work and Hire someone to take me there. Got there and checked in then went to Day Surgery, sat there for 15 mins. An old nurse came out, I saw her looked and me then went to another room. Came back took me by the side to explain the Dr have other important surgery and can't do mines today as he is running behind. I ask her twice what should I do she said you can go home. She saw my concern then said, "well let me double check in less than lightly he will take you today". I said again, What should I do? She said, "go home and call the office, we were trying to call you. I had no call on my phone from the hosipal. I said, I got here 2 hours before as directed by the hospital they called me last night. She said "oh we call everyone". She then went to confirm if the Dr indeed canceled me as an excuse. She then came back and said, "oh yes am right you not doing the surgery today give me you paper work". Took and asked if I want some water.
Such unprofessional!!
First!! Do they know how inconvenient this is? I went to Richmond Hill 2 times last week and Hire someone to take me today. She asked me if I drive. How can I drive myself when I am supposed to do surgery? ..... I took three days off work for this. To Top it off the DOCTOR did not even come and spoke with me.
I heard bad review for this place and never thought I will right one. I went there before and spend 5 days there but just thought this is how things are in the Hospital as it was my first experience staying at a Hospital since I had my son many years ago. Now I know the service is very Dull. When I went to do the blood work they give me someone else hand band. I well downstairs to get blood while am In Line I realized it not my name and DOB... had to ran up back upstairs to let the staff know.
I am very disappointed.
Before the surgery they call to get my insurance... why have me go through all this if you have to cancelled me on the day off when I am there. I was so embarrassed... I had to take the bus back to North York as my ride had other plans. Today was a very unpleasant experience.

We went to emergency this weekend for tumble on the stairs (no open wounds), and were were treated within three hours. From triage, reception, technicians to the doctors, everything moved swiftly and efficiently. The staff were all very gentle, patient and compassionate.

A year ago, we went to emergency. They were was fast and honest. Both my niece and nephew were born there without any issues. The nurses were experienced and caring.

Good nursing and physical amenities. But compared to other hospital in GTA that we have been to the physicians and their process was inferior.

They didn't follow through with us but limited their service to one issue. That is not our experience in other hospital. Other hospital referred us to needed process and specialist till whole issues were covered.

My daughter had something ringing in her ear Waited for good 3hrs... and at the end
Dr. Tung, Connie simply says "there's nothing in the ear"!! Asked her what's the next step she goes "NOTHIN" see your family doctor if anything.. like it's stupid she did not do no X-ray or any other check up to see what's going on in my daughter's ear. Then she goes if any pains or discharge comes out then being her back to emerge! REALLY! You goin wait till it gets worst and then these doctors will end up making serious step! RESICULOUS!!!!

I took my brother in law with abdominal pain . It seemed there is no long wait at the E.R, so we did register normal wait time . However during our wait I had to accompany the patient several times at the bathrooms . Upon entering the bathroom you are faced with a heavy odour , that you have to hold your breath if you planning to use the premises .
In addition, urinals filled with urine . These should not a hospital bathroom .

Understaffed. Technically all the correct test was done for me last night as a heart patient. Nurses were over whellmed, asked what is this 4 medication for me to take- she was not clear. I got up to ask the doctor, someone who was seating at the desk, with the sarcastic tone of voice tells me with the finger shaking toward me- that's the doctor, you don't ask question from a doctor, go and ask the nurse. My question to the hospital is very simple: as a heart attack patient in the emergency room , who should answer my question, and why do you think the patient can be spoken like this. Then I remember, why I avoid this hospital, the only reason I was there last night because the time was essence and my chest pain was increasing.

Just moved here for school and was not sure with what to expect from a new hospital environment. The emergency staff was amazing and continued to be in high spirits despite it being a very busy night. I was seen and treated quickly and could not be more thankful for their help.

This hospital offers very very bad service, my grandpa is in the hospital at this time. The "staff" does not care about him, when they give him food he can't eat by himself, so they don't help him eat. Instead of helping him they neglect him and don't help him at all. They also, give us wrong information about his heath and we can do nothing to help him.

I went today and was treated as if I was an animal. No one had regards for me, despite fainting and kept me there all day to tell me to go see my family doctor. Majority of staff was very unpolite, barely made eye contact, and disorganized. Your health and time is precious, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

I can see from all reviews for emergency depratment that's an attitude and trend performed by the employees, my experience with them was not much different, regardless of the the long waiting time which might be out of their hands due to limited resources, but it doesn't mean to have that negative and rude attitude for patient that in severe pain and simply going to hospital asking for help and treatment, No empathy and poor disciplines, it's a shame for healthcare system, extremely unprofessional

Being an oncology patient since 2014. My experience since day one has been positive and rewarding. From the reception with a smile to the caring nurses and acurate diagnosis from Dr. NG.
They make me feel like the whole clinic is just for me.All questions answered,my comford and needs attended.
Mackenzie Health is not just a hospital, but a place where patients are treated with compassion, warmth, consideration and respect.
Thank you Dr.Matilda,Dr.Peter,Madelaine,Melinda,Marie Eve,Cheryl,Robin,Michelle,Janice,Ana,and the volunteers.

the emergency at this hospital is something out of a horror movie.I should add however that only the emergency seems to be this way.. I was hospitalized for about a month and the nurses on the higher floors are absolute angels..The emergency needs to have 99% of the nurses fired. Horrible.

*Edit: In response to whoever answered me, I have complained. There was a fight an actual fight between the nurses and a patient and a few of us called in to complain. Its gotten better recently I should add however the really obese woman who does intake with short hair needs to be removed immediately. I have recorded her making fun of patients and just out right disrespecting people who are in pain. People who come there are usually not in the best state of mind because they have some type of an illness/injury. The nurses should be kind, accomidating and understanding. Not rude, aggressive and making fun of you. I will continue to complain so long as this emergency room stays this way trust me.

My dad was in C4 Medicine purple the week of May 18 and was released May 28 and the nurses and PCA's that were attending to him where fantastic. Especially Jessica who was on top of everything! She was great! The treatment he received was better than another York Region hospital he has been in.

Pooor poor service and staff-
Spend with my 3 month old son 3.5 hours tonight with no Dr present ! When I asked the nurse replied we have only 1 Dr & he is busy with someone else - elsewhere in the building !!

I left while my litle boy is still sick & in pain!

No one there seems to have the decency to let people in the waiting room know - how long it will take -

I am writing to ask you to thank all the staff who helped me so much when on October 27th I unexpectedly arrived at Emergency Department with my left eye problem at the morning today.
I feel that your staff: Pat M (Triage); Samira, Mojgan, Oreff (Nurses ) and Dr. Berliner, should be congratulated for their standard of care.
I was examined, received treatment and received a referral to the Specialist in a very reasonable time approximately 1.5 hour.
I wish especially to thank everyone at Emergency Department, these thanks, which although brief are deeply held, and recognise this superb team's contributions to your excellent service.

Regards.
Izabella Amelina,

My 86-year-old dad is admitted to Mackenzie Health...

My 86-year-old dad is admitted to Mackenzie Health and we are planning the next phase of his care.

The physiotherapist on the unit wanted dad to go to rehab and applied for several locations without our consent and totally against our wishes.
She has never involved the family/patient in the application process. My dad got accepted to a location of HER choice, and we are pressured by the unit manager to make a decision.

We have repeatedly voiced our concern regarding this location. It is too far from home and it is impossible for us to travel and visit my dad everyday. Separating my dad, an old frail man, from his family is like a death sentence. My family is devastated.

We are being bullied in this discharge process. It is unethical to apply for a discharge location without patient's consent. It is a callous act to ignore the wish of a frail elderly and his family.

If I can give a negative rating to this hospital, I won't hesitate to do so.

We ve had a great experience with Major Mackenzie hospital in the day surgery section today.

Super friendly staff, well organized, on time, and great in communications and updates while my dad was in the operation room.

Thanks, Dr.Lee for being so informative.

Special thanks to nurses in pre-operations and recovery room Behnaz and Maureen for the special care.

Thank you, Chris, for the positive energy you are spreading to all staff and patients around you.

Today I called the MUCC clinic in regards to changing my grandmother's appointment and a receptionist named Rose picked up the phone. She was so wonderfully kind and just a pleasant person to speak to. Since my grandma had multiple other appointments she needed this specific one to be changed and Rose was so understanding and found a way to accommodate for my grandma right away. Out of all the receptionists (and I ve had to call many hospitals and clinics) Rose has to be one of the kindest and most compassionate person I ve ever spoken with. I wish there could be more people like her in this industry who just make life so much easier for people. It's nice to be able to call a hospital and feel heard. My grandmother, Long Pham, and I would like thank Rose and the hospital very much.

I had surgery recently and I found the care to be exceptional from the moment I entered the hospital to register for my surgery to the moment I left after my surgery. The nurses were attentive and caring and ensured I was comfortable at all times. The OR nurse introduced me to everyone and tried to put me at ease.

Everyone was so professional and I'm glad my surgeon worked out of this hospital because I've had several good experiences here.

My Husband was recently hospitalized at Mackenzie Health after an emergency surgical procedure. We had a great experience starting with our visit to the emergency department and then on to the OR., front line staff, Dr. Ortega and all the rest of the support team were truly amazing.
We were treated promptly and with respect by all.

I would like to take a moment and commend the staff of the senior wellness clinic for the excellent care they have and continue to give on my mothers behalf. The secretary Rosa always greets us with a pleasure smile and kind words is always ready to accommodate us and it is so comforting to know that she understands our culture. The nurse who does the initial checkup( please forgive me for not acknowledging your name) before seeing the doctor is simple the kindest most gentle of souls thank you a thousand times over. And then last but certainly not least is wonder woman Dr. Liliani, words do not express how grateful we are for her care on my mothers behalf, going above and beyond. To all these special people who work so well together, like a fine oiled machine, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your care and concern of Carmela Caltana

Spent a day with my son in emerge having a foreign object in his ear. Doctor was unable to pull it as my son was freaking out. The doctor got pretty upset. Sedation, which we have been waiting for 3 hours for, didn't help and additional attempt to pull the thing out didn't succeed. Then the doctor left telling me there is no ENT on shift. They held me there for 2 more hours and then finally told me that I will have to go to another office in 3 days. Later in the evening, it turned out that instead of ENT, they booked us with Ophthalmologist who called us tonight apologizing. Never go to Mackenzie!

Bad attitude with those nurses. Doent bepatient to patients. So rude with two nurses. Bad attitude with doctor, bad attitude with security. All people in EMR so rude, and doesn't like the name emergence, everyone work slow. Take a least 5hrs to wait for doctors, even is not that busy. But they always busy.
doctor just chating with other doctor or nurses.
Disappointed! Dissatisfied!
Doesn't worth one star. I will give 0 for this hospital service

We always go to this hospital ever since through ups and downs with my family. They might have a long terrible waiting hours but that is because they are doing everything they can and there are lots of patients and makes sure that all the tests are being done. Unlike Humber Hospital, was there yesterday because it is near my father in law and was having severe stomach pain and it is been weeks. I was just told that is a flu without an ultrasound. Went here today because of the constant pain and they did everything though i had to wait for long hours, i found out that i have a problem with my gallbladder. Who knows what could have happened if I assumed that it is just a stomach flu?

This hospital has an awesome staff and doctors. I am thankful for their great service from me, to my kids, and even to my giving birth.

Dr Ping Fu from the ER is the most arrogant irresponsible disrespectful person I have ever met in my life. We went there for a fractured arm. The Dr. ordered x-ray and sent us home after 8 hours waiting. He sent the nurse to tell us we should go home and wait for our appointment with the fracture clinic. Obviously, we had questions about the degree of the fracture and things we should or shouldn't do to make the fracture better. The dr refused to talk to us and was very aggressive and disrespectful. He didn't care about our worries and told us to go back to the nurse and ask her. The nurse told us she doesn't know and we should talk to the dr. But this doctor is so arrogant and did not answer any questions. I just cannot believe this behavior in this country.

If I could give this hospital a 0, I absolutely would. The staff is rude. Records within departments are not transferable. Why is a patient asked about the type of IV they are supposed to get? Referencing records should be a no brainer. Not to mention that asking the patient these types of questions may turn out to be very dangerous. Nurses that change with each shift seem to be clueless about their patient and ask the same questions the previous shift has. Seems to be the norm among nurses to ignore patient calls. Babysitting and standing in front of the personnel is a must to get ANYTHING done here. Is there a point for taxpayers' money to go towards this hospital?

One time I went here after breaking my leg.

One time I went here after breaking my leg.
Between the pain of a broken leg and my experience here at this hospital, I'm sad to say that the hospital experience caused me more agony.

The wait times are very long. I brought an injured friend here once and we were there from 11pm to around 7am. The doctor then saw him and told him to walk it off. Is that the hospital's fault? Perhaps, or perhaps not.

I refrained from giving it one star because I'm sure the staff at this hospital engage in life saving work every day.

This is absolutely the worst hospital ever!!!! If you value your life stay away from this hospital. The prematurely released my son from the hospital after a serious brain injury and put his life at risk and the only reason why he went to that hospital is because he was brought in by ambulance. My most recent visit was also horrific again only attended the hospital as my youngest son was brought in by ambulance as he could not breath. They do not have enough staff to attend to you. There is only 1 doctor for the entire emergency room. I almost called 911 from the hospital to transport my child to another hospital. The staff is so unprofessional. A bucket of used needles was open and on the floor for anyone to reach in. Nurses were arguing. I would not recommend this hospital. Drive to St.Michaels hospital if you can. You will be treated with the utmost respect and all their staff are qualified to handle any situation. I love St.Michaels and Sick Kids hospital. ANYWHERE is better than Mackenzie Health formerly known as York Central Hospital. A name doesn't change the hospital the they need to hire more staff and qualified ones who have bed side manners. If you have a complaint about this hospital contact the Ontario Abudsman and send him a letter. If you have a complaint about a specific doctor e-mail the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario they will investigate your concerns. If your complaint is about a nurse file a complaint with the College of Nurses of Ontario. This hospital needs to be accountable for their actions.

I was in the MRHH Stroke unit A Wing 2nd floor about a month ago being treated for a stroke. I must say that the therapy and nursing staff were very kind and supportive, which helped me get strong and energetic. They made my stay very comfortable and made me feel very much like at home! Very good people!!

I went to the ER after my knee got injured during sport activity. They did X- ray and said everything normal just go home take rest and put some ice on it.
I followed what he said....
I had other injuries years ago and I knew how it feels when something not "normal".2 weeks later I got an appointment somewhere else and ultra sound showed the PCL in my knee is torn.
Now I waiting to get an appointment for MRI.If they find other damage I have to go to surgery.
Recovery takes 6-12 months.

I'm coming from Quebec for a vacation with my 7-week pregnant wife. She started bleeding at torronto. The ambulance arrives and we take her to the hospital, bleeding by the vagina.
The nurse sees her with clothes full of blood and just puts towels underneath. My wife continues to bleed blood. I went to see the nurse twice and I explained the problem to her and very calmly told me to wait for the doctor.
The doctor arrives speaks to us 30 seconds and leaves then it arrives after 45 min to tell us that we will make an ulra sound and we have to wait until 6 o'clock in the morning. in the meantime my wife continues to bleed and is left on the wheelchair with her blood. I insist that the nurse saw her with the clothes full of blood and she did not do anything for her. Since I'm going to ask another nurse that it's not human to leave a patient with blood on a chair. Then he went back to find new pants and pads to change.
In the morning we had the ultra sound and the baby was gone. the doctor told me this as he announced that I have a fever or a gripe: '' no more baby. u wait for the specialist in the morning ''. he did not even look at me in the face.
In any case the service in this hospital is really inhuman and I think that my wife being pregnant, it had to be read more seriously than that. In short I wish that no one will get sick at this hospital and if he gets sick in toronto if he is able to come back to Quebec that he does

DO NOT GO HERE FOR AN EMERGENCY OR SOMETHING SERIOUS. If you value your life and health and having a fully functional body, DO NOT GO HERE. If you love your children, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. For your own sake, PLEASE drive a bit farther and go somewhere else. I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say that coming here for a serious issue can result in the loss of your life, or you being left severely disabled or ill. PLEASE don't come here.

When I was sent to this hospital more than a few times. They did horrible jobs. U had to wait 5 hrs to check me out. When someone came in emergency u have to do things faster with them than others. I m immune system suppressed!!! And 5-6 hrs it took them to arrive and take a look at me. That is the worst hospital ever! They don t even have tv. Plus nothing good around the hospital and boring area.
Toronto general is the best one. I go there all the time no matter where I live. No more emergencies take me to Mackenzie hospital. Their doctors r horrible at Mackenzie.

This is the hospital I am going to avoid.

This is the hospital I am going to avoid.

After you are in the Emergency room, no one guide you where you should go and where is the line up. You have to find it out or someone will yielding to you ....

Nurses are like to wondering and chatting tow each other.
Before you get to see a doctoer there are 4 extra steps needed to take .

Fannally, the doctor come to your bed and suggest you to see your own family doctor which only take about 5 mins of his time to do.

There is the hostpital with lots of funny staff and there is the hospital you can have lots of fun with it ----- just like wonderland not a hospital.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! If I could give this place 0 ...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They are extremely disorganized. They have 2 machines at the front for getting a number one of which was broken. We finally registered at the desk to find out afterwards the waiting area... which was a literal hall was full and there wasn't a single seat available.

Once we finally arrived in a room to see the doctor we had to wait over an hour. Previous to that my boyfriend got blood work and an X-ray. The doctor arrived and had no idea he even had any work done. He didn't come with any information on his patient. All he did was ask a few questions then told us to wait in the "Treatment Centre" while he gets his results. The treatment centre was nothing but a jumble of different sections. There was a seating area, a "treatment wall", a blood pressure machine and an extremely messy receptionist desk that was also supposed to act as a pharmacy. The entire thing looked so make shift and ghetto I could have sworn I was in a third world country.

We waited a good hour to finally have a nurse take his blood pressure. She then tells us the doctor will be with us shortly and wants to review the results even though she said everything came back fine. We waited for another hour just to see patients that came after us get helped sooner.
The young brown receptionist seemed to have NO CLUE how to handle the patients. She didn't do anything in order and seemed to only care when people complained about the wait....which is exactly what happened to us. Once we complained she told us we didn't even need to be there anymore and that the doctor didn't need to speak with him.

In the end he didn't get any information except for "anxiety" being the cause of psychical chest pain. When he asked if there was anything they could do to check arteries the only response the receptionist gave was that the tests to check that are only for patients that have already had a heart attack. Odd considering google shows plenty of tests that can be done one including a simple ultrasound.

So if you plan on wasting hours of your time... just to get nowhere this is the place for you!

I would like to thank Dr Redstone and the IC unit staff. You were all so wonderful and extremely caring to my father in law over the past 6 weeks. Thanks to your support he has made a remarkable recovery.

Hospital is filthy. Staff is overworked and given up. My elderly mother broke her hip. Surgery went well. Havent seen a dr in 4 days. Been here since 10am its 230pm. Havent seen her nurse and her bedis wet and diaper full if you need to go to a hosputal go anywhere but here. Go to your veterinarian for better care.

Update.. sunday nov 5th. Got here at 1045am.. my mother complained to me that she is soaking wet her bedding and gown soaking wet and she has been asking to be changed since this morning. They wake them up at 630am so we are talking over 4 hrs. As soon as they see me enter her room then they scurry about. Really? Do i have to be present just so they do there job?. The patient next to her let me know my mother threw up her breakfast and that she had to go out there to get the nurses.. Really!!!
This hospital deserves a ZERO!

I do want to mention there are nurses and caregivers that go beyond. RON and LAura have been the most pleasant and helpful with her stay. Most of the nurses do care its just out of their control and the establishment is lax

I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, staffs & volunteers at Mackenzie Health Centre. Throughout my dad's stay, the doctors & nurses treated my dad with the best of care. The service we received was terrific. The food was good & room was clean.
Thank you for taking such great care for my dad.
You guys rock! 5 stars all the way

ps. Special thanks to the cleanning lady who set up & adjusted the desk for me, so that I can sat comfortable and worked while I was accompanying my dad for the past 5 days

Pss. For those who wrote bad review, you folks should be thankful to live in such a wonderful country where you dont have to pay for healthcare.

This hospital is very unprofessional went with my husband to visit my daughter and witnessed two uniformed employees one African American male and the female I am unsure of her ethnicity, kissing in plain site, personal relationships need to be kept outside the workplace especially with covid going on. The hospital also gave me and my husband a very hard time would not recommend at all

I have the unfortunate need to have to always come...

I have the unfortunate need to have to always come to this low-rated hospital. Almost all of my visits are Emergency related and every time I visit the ER, there's ALWAYS a shortage of Physicians. You have a Huge and Massive ER packed with lots of pain and suffering patients and it's always upsetting that there are Never enough Physicians to see and service and care for the patients' tormenting and agonizing pains. I understand that there is a system of "Priority" and that patients with for example "knife or bullet wounds" are prioritized over patients with for example "extreme body pains". However, when the Patient/Physician ratio is so vastly far apart and on top of that, many of the staff members are very cold, callous and uncaring, it is really sad and upsetting.

Terrible untrained staff in the lost and found and security department. The security department is not professional when it comes to a lost item. The gentlemen I spoke to over the phone did not care to take any reports, details, notes of my lost item and can barely hold a professional conversation to direct me to the next steps. He interrupted our conversation and said, "Hold on, let me take these calls. There are a lot of phone calls coming in. There's not much we can do but you can come in to file a report." He doesn't even put me on hold and I had to hear him pick up his other 'important' calls before he comes back to my call.

Parking is terrible, I was circling all over the parking lot and cannot find any parking.

It's unfortunate that my doctor is at this hospital and he is a great doctor. Otherwise, this hospital is the worst hospital based on the professionalism of the staff on board and how they take care of their patients.

I rarely write review but it's a must in order to express thankfulness to chemo team especially the clinic head doctor, Dr. Ng. All doctors, nurses, pharmacists and secretaries are so professional, friendly, helpful and caring. Their tremendous support do mean lots to every patient in chemo clinic, words can't say! The only concern is, clinic is lacking of space to accommodate the increasing patients in both waiting and treatment areas. Some doctors can only meet their patients in the treatment rooms rather than in their office, which obviously delay the treatment for patients. Expansion of chemo clinic is definitely encouraging to meet future needs.

I can't say enough about the care I received at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. They bent over backwards to make my surgery easier for me in every way. To all the staff I want to say thank you and you guys rock.

Worst emergency healthcare and staff, don't go here! They are rude and heartless, gave benefit of doubt on more than three occasions, everytime over the past year we have expeeienced nurses are rude and rough with their language and approach, the doctors are worse, no one ever has a smile on their face or a calming approach, just aggravate you more and make you lose patience, with their behaviour and lacking value for your time and life.
Never ever go here! The wait times are ridiculous, better drive an hour out of town or more go to a different hospital.
Its sickening the attitude of the staff.

Unorganized center. Be advise when you call them for Covid-19 assessment. Operator answer they are open until 9:30pm, same as it shows in their website, but they do not accept patient after 7:00 or 7:30 pm. I called in front of door to operator again and it was saying same answer to me that they accept for test until 9:00pm and security also heard it, but they were not accepting any body for test.

Longest wait times ever! Took an ultrasound technician 2 hours after my scheduled appointment to come do my ultrasound. This is the worst hospital i have gone too. Even the emergency rooms take so long, they treat you like crap and don't care about anyone at all. So sick of this place. This place shouldn't be a care facility when they don't even give a damn about their patients what so ever.

Mackenzie Health Hospital is a great place to rely on when you or your family is in need of medical care. I recently delivered my baby boy at Mackenzie Health, and I had a positive experience. The doctors and nurses were professional and supportive, and helped keep me calm and comfortable throughout my 24 hours of delivery. I stayed in hospital for 2 days post partum, and had an opportunity to interact with more staff. Having worked in a hospital setting for 3 years, I could tell that the staff morale was a very positive one at Mackenzie Health, and that must be attributed to the great leadership they have. I chose to have my baby boy delivered at Mackenzie Health, because 30 years earlier, I was born at the same hospital, then known as York Central Hospital. My mother assured me she also had a positive experience then, and we feel grateful for the level of care we both received. Thank you Mackenzie Health for your professional care and compassion!

Last month my wife suddenly got acute pain in her left shoulder. She was rushed to the emergency department. I must say that she was looked after very well right from the receptionist, medical staff and lab technician. She was released after about two and half hours after treatment.

My mother, a 96 year old lady, was admitted in February 2017 to Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital for acute kidney failure. The attending physician, Dr. Pooneh Yahyavi, was excellent and delivered compassionate care in addition to expert clinical judgment. The ER physician and staff, the CCU nursing staff, PSW and Speech Therapist teams of Telemetry Unit 3D delivered coordinated care that is second to none. With their superb skills and Dr. Yahyavi's patient guidance, my mother had an uneventful recovery without any invasive intervention.
I am a Board-Certified Kidney specialist and Chairman of the Department of Medicine of a major US medical school. So I know exceptional care when I see it.
I am very indebted to the doctors and nursing staff and allied health staff for their dedication to the patients; and I want to express my sincerest gratitude.

I came to the hospital about 3am and I have so much pain and now it's 6:30 and no doctor's visited me and there is only one night shift doctor!!! Can you believe that!!!
When I complained about the situation and I said North York Hospital has a better service, one of the nurses said you're most welcome to go there!!! Instead of saying sorry for the inconvenient!!! I'm in pain and I think the basic lesson for these young nurses is to be nice and patient and understand the situation!!! I'll keep you posted!
Ok... After about 4hrs, finally doctor visited me and after more than 6 hours finally they released me. Unfortunately google review doesn't let me to upload my hand's picture to show what they did to my hand :(
Do not recommend it!!!!

My son had an ACL reconstruction surgery done this morning. By evening as the nerve freeze started wearing off, his pain started coming back. By 10:00 pm it became unbearable and the the pain medication did not seem to make any difference. At 1:00 am I called telehealth and they asked me take him to emergency. I took him to the emergency at 2:00am. It is 4:00 am and the doctor still hasnt seen him. The reason that I am being given is that there is just one doctor available and he is with a critical patient. I dont see any doctor being available anytime soon and have to bear through seeing my son suffering in extreme pain. This is beyond ridiculous

My two-year-old son was brought to emergency with an anaphylactic allergic reaction. He was seen very quickly and the bedside manner of all the staff was kind and caring. They helped him stay calm throughout the process and were reassuring me that we were indeed in the best of care.

Just incredible Im here again writing a review. As if it was not bad enough on the first one. Well the negligence is consistent. I had my hand X-rayed due to my fall on my original visit. This is where they sent me home with a fractured clavicle that needed surgery but the quacky doctor told me "If I was Lance Armstrong they would operate but seeing as Im not this would heal on its own!!??". I could have bet my hand on it that it was broken. First X-ray.."Doctor said its NOT broken" Still not satisfied 2nd X-ray "doc said its not broken" 3rd-Ray..."Not broken" 3 months later my hand still hurts looks almost like Arthritis. Went to see Hand surgeon today. Your hand is broken-compression fracture and the piece of bone that was smashed off was absorbed by my body. Needless to say they diagnosed EVERYTHING wrong. Let's face it, doctors are not G-ds anyone can make a mistake but after 3 X-rays I call this utter incompetence and this is totally unacceptable. The hospital had also billed me for a sling which I never used as I had one and I personally returned it to their accounting dept. To date they are still billing me $45 for the sling and have turned that into a project for me as to having to prove that I returned it. All in all this hospital is a disaster that is constantly evolving. My injuries were quite common they did a poor job on ALL accounts. One must avoid this hospital at all costs. If the dollar store gets into medicine, this would be their first model franchise.

I was having a miscarriage and I waited in emergency for 7 hours to see a doctor. The doctor sent me home even though I was bleeding and I was in pain. After 3 hours my condition got worse I had to come back to the emergency and this time I waited for 5 hours to see a doctor, no one there still until I passed out. That's when they realized I was in pain and came to me. It was a horrible experience. Worse emergency department.
