Love everything about this place except for the valet parking!!! I was there for an event for which I had purchased a ticket. The line for parking was spilling out onto Sunset and one of the valet guys came out and told me to leave since there was no room for my car!!!! I couldn't believe it! I had to park a few blocks away and walk back in my high heels and was late and sweaty. Terrible!

Old school LA hotel charm {like fromt he 60-70s}. Definitely a unique LA experience and worth a stay. Try staying a few days here to get a feel for the property, the views from the upper-hotel building, and the surrounding closeby city.

Hotel was nice in the common and function areas without feeling too stuffy. Lobby bar seemed loud and like everybody knew each other. Meeting room for a function adequate but nothing that exciting. Food tasty but unremarkable.

This hotel really gave me the best experience in LA. I love the room and the property itself, so spacious and sparkling clean. I stayed for three nights, I especially enjoyed the all-covered balcony. The staff here are also extremely friendly and helpful. You can communicate with staff via text to order room service or request room cleaning, eliminated a lot of unnecessary wait time over the phone. I will definitely stay here again!!

We were there for easter brunch, 3rd time. Food is great! But for the amount we pay, I do expect the service to be better. We had dishes piled on our table, and getting water refilled was next to impossible, and the wait staff was not always that friendly. We are considering a different location for next year.

This is a wonderful place to stay, we enjoyed every minute here. It was beautiful, secluded, great customer service, room service and the room was AMAZING! We hated to leave and look forward to returning again soon. We are happy we found this place and recommend it highly.

We returned last week 7/20/19 & were blown away by the customer service. They were over the top amazing the moment we stepped inside the lobby. The room & view was fabulous, the room service, shuttle service & staff were flawless! We can't wait to stay here again~ We highly recommend you stay here, again & again!

Nice Sunday brunch. My only criticism is the hot foods, like pancakes and waffles, weren't warm enough, and the omelete station was a bit on the slow side. They were good though (I had 2 omlettes since my other food wasn't hot like I like it).

Overall my stay was pleasant. I will explain both why it received and earned every bit of these four stars, and why it does not deserve a fifth star.

For why they earned their four stars:

- the hotel is georgeous
- the room was big and spacious
- the bed was comfortable as far as hotel beds go
- the location was fantastic (near the LA Convention Center, good restaurants, middle of downtown, etc.)
- the staff was all very courteous and helpful

For why they did not earn the fifth star:

- the fitness center left something to be desired. There was one treadmill, one bike, and one eliptical. That's it. No weights and barely enough room for for the machines.
- they nickel and dime you on everything. Here are a few examples: the only breakfast offered is a buffet. In trying to save a few dollars and partially out of convenience, I ordered breakfast to my room. I order the $11 oatmeal. The oatmeal itself was quite good. But the price, it came out to almost $19. They automatically add an admin fee, a service fee, and a delivery fee. I mean, an almost 50% increase. Next, when you check in, they tell you about the minibar. It is pressure sensored. So if you move anything, even accidentally bump it, you have to pay for it. Or, if you move stuff out to put in your items to refrigerate them (it's the only refrigerator in the room), there is a $50 restocking fee.
- Lastly, the internet was AWFUL! I was there for 3 days and 2 nights. For the entire period, the internet was bad. It's a free and open wifi so I'm guessing that a lot of people in the area (which is a lot of people when there are conventions and concerts) use the wifi and it slows it down. If you need to do work or just want to be able to cruise the internet, this will not fit the bill.

Again, overall it's a very nice hotel but there are a few things that are definitely worth knowing before you book here.

Nice, but it seemed a little dated. It was almost like they did a poor job updating this historic property. The rooms were nice, though not particularly noteworthy. Bathroom was clean but unimpressive. The rest of the place felt motel-ish, with some nice touches. We are LA locals who won a free night at the lux... So we stayed for free. I think we would have been very disappointed had we paid full price.

We stayed in the junior executive suite.. The staff was all very helpful and nice. Very clean hotel with great amenities. The bottled margaritas and Moscow mule weren't very good but everything else was great! Lots of options for room service. The bath and shower in the junior executive suite were very nice. The tub was more of a soaking tub which was a nice surprise

Posh hotel with comfortable and clean bed. The hotel is actually split into two buildings so some amenities were far from our room. The location is close to Getting and next to the 405 sunset onramp for convenience. Not much around the hotel so having a car or ubering is a must.

Traffic was a little tough on Sunset blvd which is no fault of the hotels. The hotel was nice, employees were polite and the valet was fast, really appreciated my time at the networking event I attended.

I met friends for breakfast at Luxe on Sunset. The hotel is immediately off the 405 and valet parking was only $5 with a 2 hrs validation from restaurant. Super easy! Service and food was good. I only gave it 4 stars as I did not tour the hotel or stay here, so my rating is strictly on Valet, lobby, and restaurant. Nothing over the top, but very satisfied.

The housekeeping is terrible. The rooms are never done properly. The bed sheets are torn and when asked to change them they did not do it right way. You can not get good night sleep because other guests shouting and laughing loudly while they walk it the corridor to their rooms after midnight. I asked to speak to the hotel manager since my stay is for 3 weeks but he did not reply!!

not justifiably expensive, obtrusive parking service, in the restaurant if you want to have breakfast at 9, you have to come at 7, and not the fact that they will not lose your order. for the money that costs the room and parking breakfast should be free of charge
