Really more of a "bowl" that wraps around the tunnel. Extensive terrain options that just seem to go on and on as you wrap around the bowls. Takes a series of ups & downs to get to the west wall but worth it. Really cool place to ski.

Love his place. Sure it doesn t have 15 high speed quads, slope-side condos and is not as big as those other resorts owned by Omni-Corp but what you get is what skiing used to be: good vibe, friendly atmosphere and some great skiing.

Loveland has a great selection of runs for all skill levels and is significantly less expensive than some other resorts in the area. The food and drinks at the bar are legit. Staff is super friendly, helpful, and seem genuinely excited to help beginners get into the snow sports. I would highly recommend Loveland to anyone but especially to people trying to get their feet wet for the first time or people returning after years away before jumping into the more expensive options in the area.

I'd recommend Basin to most beginners over Valley. Zigzag at Valley is very narrow and has some steep spots compared to most of the easy runs at basin which tend to be very wide gradual runs that are super long. I will be back next year for sure.

Loveland is my favorite place to ski in Colorado. The prices are insanely reasonable, and as other mountains raise their prices Loveland stays relatively the same. The lines are none existant, and when commuting from Denver its one of the closest ski areas to the city. It consistently gets great snow, and though its not as large as other mountains it still has 90+ runs. The main lodge (I have not been to the other) is clean, and quite large. The food is good, and very cheap when it comes to lodge pricing. This place is amazing for locals, and I cannot recommended it enough. Keep it up Loveland!

This is a fantastic place to ride and take lessons! I have taken two private lessons and have picked up snowboarding way quicker than I anticipated because of how amazing the instructors are! Stacy is by far the best and I highly recommend requesting him!

My wife and I absolutely love this Mountain. It has terrain for all types of skill levels. Amazing views throughout the area. My favorite lines are throughout the fire bowl! Big thanks to all the employees who make sure the mountain is running smoothly!

Great place to ski! Right off the main highway 70. Lots of snow and an incredible mountain at the top. There s a dedicated snow board course and a cool little lodge at the top of one of the lifts. Epic views!!

Love skiing and snowboarding at Loveland, and if you're a beginner, I highly recommend taking lessons here! I took three private snowboarding lessons with Stacy Smith, and he was fantastic! He does a really great job of explaining everything in a very accessible and easy to understand way. Plus, he was also extremely positive and encouraging, and by the end of the third lesson I was feeling super confident. Thank you, Stacy!!

Really enjoyed this ski resort. Went to Breckenridge the day before and I actually preferred Loveland. The runs we're just as nice without the longer wait time and high price. They also have a section dedicated to new skiers which is nice for people that have never skied.

This was my first time in Colorado and I was very impressed. Even being a little busy there were still no waits. The views are jaw dropping. Plenty of good terrain and options from beginner to expert.

I would honestly give Loveland a 5 star for majority of the staff, the cleanlines of the area, and the beautiful slopes. However, my trip, along with the 8 members of my group, was ruined by this one rude manager. Everybody else were super nice and helpful. For the majority of us, it was our first time.
My group had planned this trip 2 months in advance. We bought the lift tickets when they were promoting the 4 day lift package. So, each lift ticket was 42$ per day. We all decided to take snowboarding lessons. Their website said they offer it onsite. I called the facility to ask if I needed to make a reservation for the lessons. The lady on the phone told me I didn't have to. It was a first come first serve. Great! We get there early on a Sunday morning around 9am. Nobody else was in line. We see this board advertising their prices. There was package that comes with the lift tickets which totaled 152$. We were shocked because their website did not mention this package. If we would have known, we wouldn't have purchased so many of the lift tickets. The lesson by itself without rental was 119$. Rental was 40$ a day. We had two people helping us. One was a young, blonde short-haired girl. She was really patient with us and respectful as were we. The other was an older gentlemen who was training this other man. So, each group asked them if there was a way we could be discounted or compensated since we've already purchased the lift tickets. Obviously, the package with the lessons, rental, and lift was a better deal because we would have paid 139$ for just the lessons and rental. Both staff members replied that it's up to the manager, which was understandable. The older staff member was so nice. He really did try to above and beyond for us. So, this lanky, older lady walked in. She had dirty blonde hair and about 5'8-5'10 tall. She did not even tried to listen to our situation. Honestly, I really wasn't expecting anything, but what infuriated me was her approach and demeanor. Her exact response " No, but I can charge you more money." "Do you want me to charge you more money?" We said okay, thank you. We purchased our lessons and went on with our vacation. So, Im still undecided if I'm ever going to return to Loveland, but I know for a fact that Colorado has a lot of options.

The beginner's area is very disappointing, way over crowded. I couldn't believe that 2 different people enrolled in classes, never got on a lift. The upper or main ski area was better. I wouldn't recommend classes here, but for the price the slopes and access is decent.

I'm simply going to repost most of what the gentleman below me said, as I see they are trying hard to cover up the truth. And let me just say, if you are one of the people trying to help them cover up this horrific tragedy and the outcome from it, why are you such a s*** person?

In early May of 2018, OSHA found Loveland Ski Area guilty of multiple serious violations that resulted in the death of their employee. They were fined well over $65,000.

They were found to have failed to properly train their employees in order to protect their lives and inform them of the safety hazards they were exposed to. Again, they were found guilty of MULTIPLE serious violations relating to safety.

If you value your life or your family's, please do not go here.

It is cheap for a reason- because they cut corners on safety and health. As long as Rob Goodell is in charge of area operations, your life is in danger whether your are an employee or a customer.

I cannot stress it enough. Please do not go here. Don't be another statistic on an OSHA report. Those fines will not stop them from continuing their disgusting practice of valuing money over life.

After spending literally the most nightmare-ish day ever at Arapahoe Basin, Loveland was the best thing that could ever have happened to me and my friends! This past weekend we spent Saturday at A-Basin where half of the staff we dealt with were incredibly rude, we spent way too much money, and we took runs on sub-par snow and not so great terrain. So the next day we tried out Loveland. First of all, the prices were much better, the staff were great, the terrain was so much better and the snow was fantastic. Literally no one should ever go to A-Basin when there is a MUCH better mountain so close by!

My boyfriend and I went to Loveland's Closing Day and it was a blast! My boyfriend used to be a former ski instructor and I had never been skiing before and he hadn't been in a while. It was amazing!! From the staff putting up with my clumsy self, having trouble getting on AND off the lift, lol. But, there was no judgement passed (or at least they didn't show it), haha. But, season tickets next year, I think yes!

I have been skiing here since I was 2! I have truly enjoyed growing with the mountain. Chet's Dream is amazing and makes it possible for me as a mom of two kids under 4 to be able to get great turns in while splitting parenting duties with my husband at the Basin Lodge. The lunch options are great and affordable. I love that there is space for us to be able to take care of a baby, play with our independent 3 yr old, and sit and enjoy the views. Loveland is an incredible value and close to Denver. Great for beginners and experts alike. Perfect for families.

Ever since A-basin was added to the Epic Pass, the go-to local mountain in Summit County was transferred to this quaint and expansive ski mountain. Straddling the slopes leading up to Loveland Pass this is the closest ski mountain from downtown Denver (sans El Dora outside of Boulder). Bundle up and get ready to have runs all to yourself because the wind can sometimes get fierce along the ridgeline.

This mountain is definitely still clinging onto the old school ski mountain vibes and rightfully so. If you're tired of the overpopulated lift lines at A-Basin and the drunk college kids then I highly reccomend getting a Loveland ski pass! Plus, they have a free "Ridge Cat" that brings you to some rarely touched terrain.

Easy drive. Parking guy was rude. A lady cut in front of me, and slammed on her brakes. She wasn't paying attention. When I moved away from the back of her, he starts waving at me and made a rude comment without knowing what actually was taking place. Other than that and the terrible growth in population of rude people here in Colorado,... my son enjoys Loveland ski area.

Really nice ski area with friendly instructors. Prices were very reasonable, and the area was gorgeous. It was perfect weather when we went but it wasn't too crowded. I'd highly recommend visiting.

Word of caution: it's easy to get an uber or lyft the from Denver but very difficult to get one back.

Out of any of the ski resorts in Colorado, Loveland is the most practical to go to. Unlike resorts like Copper of Keystone, there isn't a village at the base that you have to walk to. It is much less commercialized as well. It's a great place for beginners who go skiing with experts because there are difficult runs and easy runs on every lift. Overall, you get the best value and experience here.

Loved Loveland Basin! First time to this ski area. Stunning views. No nonsense setup. Fun staff at every counter. Would have finished with a brew but it was too busy. Seating is limited at prime time midday. We'll be back.

Don't let the proximity to I70 fool you- this place is great! I had pretty low expectations since there is no mega-lodge or affiliation with the other resorts, and 70 runs right under it. But-- WOW! the very from the top is amazing and you would never know that semis are rolling just under you. Plus, if you use the GEM card, you can score a great bargain. This is a great way to try something new if you are at Copper, Keystone or nearby. Good range of greens and blues for family too!

I've lived and skied in Breckenridge for the past year, and hadn't had the chance to make it over the pass to Loveland until this last week. First time, showed up on an 8 inch powder day and had the time of my life. I've been to all the big resorts in Summit County with the exception of Copper, and this is my new favorite place. No lines, lots of snow, terrain for everyone! If you are into the big corporate fancy resort, then this is not your place. If however, like me, you enjoy a family-like atmosphere with some great uncrowded skiing without all the frills, then this is your place. Whether you are a beginner, or are looking for some expert lines with cliffs, cornices, and deep powder, you'll find something you love! If you haven't checked it out, do yourself a favor and ride Loveland!! Btw, lift tickets are half the price of most other resorts, in case you need another reason to come.
