Great staff and great runs. Hookey days during the week were fantastic.
Great staff and great runs. Hookey days during the week were fantastic.
I try to ski here once or twice a month through the season. It's got tons of runs and range of difficulty to meet whatever challenge I'm up for. Plus, the views are fantastic. I go on Mondays and although I have avoided spring break times, the crowds have never been a problem.
We love to ski here it's nice and very beautiful place to ski, we like Loveland better than others ski resort.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! It was very organized and clean. Had a great time on the slopes, lifts were never at a stand still, plenty of snow and routes!
Ski Area in Loveland Colorado. Beautiful in the late spring.
Terrible day. Long lift lines, cold, windy and warm beer
Tons of terrain. Cheap price. They don't gouge you for food etc. All ski no resort. Love it.
Probably my favorite place to ski, not the highest tech or impressive. I love the simplicity of it. Not as prestigious as the other places but also not as expensive. Good for beginners and places for the experts. I go on weekdays so I don't know what a weekend has for traffic on the slopes or parking. Has live music sometimes in the lodge. Decent bar if your one who doesn't hit the slopes but all your friends do. New lift that used to take 10 minutes now does it in 3 (not enough time for a bowl or beer). Overall a nice place
Very cool locals mountain. New lift gets you to some nice terrain and snow.
You get what you pay for. Good for beginners and families. Shorter routes.
Best & most affordable riding close to Denver metro area !! just be careful of the yahoos that will attempt to run over your children not enough ski patrollers on the hill to control immature behavior - incorrectvskiing courtesy and behavior so be careful if you have children! But overall a great place to go and ride!
$250 for a 3 hour private lesson for my child. I watched pretty much the whole time. They might have spent 40 on the snow.
Great Price, Close to town. could work on marking runs a little better.
Great little high altitude ski area with short lift lines, fun terrain, and serious weather. One drawback is being right on I70.
Great prices! $71 for a day pass? Can't beat that! Location is right off the highway and so easy. Small, quaint parking lot up front. Amazingly we also had cell phone service on the entire mountain!
This was my first season trying Loveland Ski Area. All I have to say is I'll be buying the Loveland ski pass this next season, for sure. So much back country to explore. Beer is here too so there's that. I'd rate higher than most of the tourist areas, less crowd, less time in line for the lifts, more time riding the slopes! See you there next season!
Terrain for everyone, never feels crowded even when the lots are full!
Great slopes!!! Well groomed and lots of help around to learn to ski and snowboard
Can always depend on great conditions, as well as great staffing here at Loveland
Horrible, terrible, dont go here. The place doesn't even have yuppies or lift lines.
I always like Loveland Ski Area and you don't have to pay the outrageous prices!
first time riding here on a hookie day. gotta love a $25 lift ticket! really great terrain! good staff. lunchroom can be a little slow and crowded. will be back again!
Still reasonably priced compared to the rest of the resorts and great skiing
Windy at the top. The day I was there it was extremely icy at the top of the chairlifts.
Great skiing and boarding here. Runs were lots of fun. I found the odd lift a little hard to get to with a snowboard and signage was maybe a little sparse further up the hill but otherwise had a great time.
Low key, great snow conditions, but not fancy amenities. Our favorite ski area.
When I want to ski or ride, my favorite destination is Loveland Ski Area. It is almost a world class resort, and they treat you like family. The staff seems to love the place, and prices are very reasonable. Lots of Love! And no smug.
Closer to Denver than most of the other ski areas and much less expensive. $60/ticket. It is a huge area which make it seem wide open even though it is busy. Lift lines are practically non existent. Lots of options for beginners to the wild ones.
One of my absolute favorites in the Rockies. Good terrain for learning, and plenty of exciting features for more experienced skiers and snowboarders.
The only place I ski because it is cheap with enough runs for me.
Small mountain with a very approachable bunny hill for beginners. Often passed as you drive to Summit County.
15+ inches of freshies and mostly empty lifts. How can I give it anything other than 5 stars?
What a great, great ski area. Well maintained, interesting runs, great lifts & polite helpful staff. The reason for 4 stars & not 5 stars is.... their website is so poorly designed that it is very very very difficult to purchase ski passes thru it....
Love it short lift lines great price if you buy the 4 pack
Great place for beginners. We all took lessons and learned a lot. We had a wonderful time. Our instructors were very helpful and friendly. Next time we come to Denver, we're definitely coming back here.
They could use a lift upgrade. Perfect in everything else. Terrain park could use some jumps though
Our first time skiing ever! We are from Florida and started on the magic carpet (bunny hill). We were yelled at by the ski lift operator after falling. Was told to get up and then as he went back into the booth he came out of he was heard saying by our group that he was going to punch someone in the face today. I was terrified to even get down the bunny hill after that. I refused to go back up because I was so nervous that I would get yelled at again I didn t go back up. Know that this is where beginners go I was shocked to see that only one person would be there and then to say such horrible things was a trip ruined. I would never return to this resort.
Loveland is awesome. Fun slopes. Decent food at a decent price. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Down-home atmosphere. Excellent snow and nice, variable above-timberline skiing. Parking....a bit competitive if it's crowded, but you can park at Loveland Valley and take the shuttle, and you don't pay $12 to park.
Tons of space to wander and ride. All levels available. And tons of fresh pow in the upper bowl to shred. Great place to ride.
We just had our snowboard lesson with Loveland and it was very pleasant and fun! The fees were very reasonable as well; we compared so many ski places and Loveland was the cheapest one we could find. Strongly recommend Rusty for private training. He was very professional, helpful, and friendly. We took Lyft to Loveland from Downtown Denver and was told it would be hard for us to find a ride back. He offered to give us a ride if we couldn't find a ride. We eventually got a Lyft back to Denver after two hours trying, but very appreciated him thought about us. Definitely worth a five-star review.
Mostly skiers (10-1 ratio) but all around great mountain. Bring your oxygen!
Parking lots were full had to take the bus but once we got on the mountain there wasn't even a line for the lift! What a great day on the mountain! Challenging trails and a foot of powder at the summit! Snow was falling and I had a blast!
This place is close if you live in Denver. The food is terrible, so bring your own. The stars are for skiing alone. The lift tickets are cheap. Not part of the epic pass. I still prefer Breckenridge, Vail or Keystone over this any day.
Loveland's prices and proximity to the Front Range make it a very practical option for skiers and riders, but that's not even my favorite thing about Loveland. The mountain receives some excellent snow, and LOTS of it. Terrain is terrific at Loveland. And the people who ski and work there are so friendly and down to earth. There's no lodging right at the ski area, which means there aren't a lot of tourists like there are at other resorts in the area. (Especially the Vail Resorts!) This ski area is hard to beat in Colorado.
Great place to shred some Gnar. The only bad thing? All the people. Holy Hana where did they all come from?
Loveland gives you pretty good skiing for a really great price. As far as pure quality of the skiing is concerned, it lags behind some of the bigger Colorado resorts. However, the unbeatable price, lack of crowds and laid-back atmosphere make it a great option. I might get bored with it if I were getting up in the mountains every weekend, but I only get a few days in a season and this is my go-to place.
Great ski resort. Mainly back country type skiing- not many groomed trails. Very antiquated style, all non-detachable lifts with no restaint bars
Great staff, Tricia, josh, Casey, stephano to name a few,
Great place for beginners, really enjoyed my time
Great fun not ti crouded just some beginner ratings aren't for beginners
If you beginner Loveland good place to start and price not so bad , I paid 115$ for lift and ski from 10am till 4pm
Don't waste your time on expensive resorts. Loveland has a variety of slopes, with a wide range of difficulties, for beginning to advanced snow sport enthusiasts.
Looked nice from the car. Might visit again someday
What can I say...it's a great place to enjoy the snow!
Excellent staff! Hooked us up when they were super busy and out of almost everything.
My group of 11 on a bachelor party stopped by for all day beginners lessons. Our guide Jackson was great and we learned more than we could ve dreamed in a day. The package we chose included everything we needed to ski and the lesson for $159. Hard to beat for a first timer.
Loveland Ski Area Review
Although highly thrilling, snowboarding and skiing can be a very expensive leisure activity. As a college student, I try to find the cheapest price for the highest quality. I have been snowboarding in five different states and found the best value to be Loveland Ski Area, in Loveland, CO. I have based this decision on price, quality of rentals, location, and lifts. If you are someone who enjoys skiing/snowboarding in a laid-back environment, Loveland will give you the experience of the Colorado Mountains without the huge lines and big crowds. This is a perfect environment for a group of friends at a great location.
Pros
Loveland has some of the cheapest lift prices in all of Colorado. Typically, a standard CO lift ticket costs around $100 or more. At Loveland Ski Area, an adult lift ticket is $48-60 for the entire day. Rentals are also very cheap. A snowboard package (including boots) was only $39. This is a very good deal because it includes high quality brands such as Burton and Rossignol. If you are someone who doesn t have any gear, you can spend an additional $9 and receive a performance package which includes a coat, snow pants, boots, snowboard/skis, gloves, ski goggles, and a helmet.
Colorado is known as one of the best places for skiing/snowboarding. However, Loveland is located only 50 miles from Denver, making it one of the most convenient locations in the state. Loveland also sits high in the Rocky Mountains (base elevation over 10,000 ft.) which makes it one of the first Ski Areas to open each season.
Cons
Because Loveland is a smaller mountain, it only has 9 lifts. However, there is rarely ever a line. A lot of the well-known ski resorts in CO have many lifts but these are also big tourist destinations so you may be subject to spending a lot of downtime waiting in line.
Loveland is the perfect destination for skiers/snowboarders of all different levels and ages. If you are looking for the experience of the Rocky Mountains without the expense or huge crowds, Loveland will give you the best value for your money.
Great small-town feel so resort! As long as you don't mind slower (than other resorts) ski lifts, and a bit more wind, Loveland is a great pace to experience Colorado skiing. Additionally, the other skiers are usually local Coloradoans and friendlier than those you find at Vail or Steamboat.
This is a beautiful Resort the views are stunning the prices are fair compared to the competition and supposedly they have approximately 19 lifts and 96 trails to ski.
We went in the first week of November so only two lips were open so there wasn't much to do but it was only my second time skiing so I'm very much a beginner and my first time skiing was at Perfect North in Indiana where they use artificial snow and it's not as difficult. What I would recommend to this place to make it better is that they should have more easy slopes available when you just have two lifts open and you have to say this is the easy slope it was for me very difficult and my cousin who came with me was a first-timer and it was very difficult for him to we must have bailed a dozen times at least when my first time skiing I did three different colors slopes and did not fall once.
Open up more easy slopes and or do not advertise the first slope up the first lift your right from the ski shop please do not call this easy it is not for beginners they could really hurt themselves and I hyper-extended my arm and pulled a pectoral muscle.
I understand it might be a simple case of it was too early in the season to open up more runs which are easier less steep with less twists turns and changes and typography but inform beginners when they call that this is what is open right now is more for intermediates.
Also my boot hurt my toe to wear three weeks later it still hurts very bad when I put pressure on it or step on it too hard and it's bruised my big toe the lady helping me fit my boots as well as the gentleman who seem to be the guru there said that it's supposed to be very snug but this was beyond snuck this hurt to walk and I told them over and over and they insisted that I wear that boot and that's how it's supposed to be the recommended clipping my toenails my mine were not long they didn't even see them cuz I didn't take my sock off but it's just a ridiculous recommendation next time I will try thinner socks they weren't that thick but they weren't paper thin either. I wanted to go up a boot size or especially if they have half sizes they didn't inform me of this they just told me that if I got one up a boot size that it would mess up my experience because I would not be able to control the skis or something something. Any event I think they put me in the wrong Boot It injured my toe and I'm still in pain about it even though I insisted on a new boots they convinced me to get this one a shot.
Overall nice facility has all the basics you need of a ski resort. The lifts were a bit slow but I appreciated the fact of being able to create your own lines to make it to the bottom of the slopes.
Loved it here. The bunny and green are good for learning. My first time snowboarding so I can t speak for experts. Overall great experience. Will definitely go back to get better
this was our second year skiing. lasy year we went to ski cooper, which was nice but definitely smaller, I really appreciate the 2 sections for beginners and the second one for more experienced skier. sincey wofe did not advsnce as much ad I dod lasy year, we hung out at valley for a few, then I took her and my seven year old boy on green trails at basin side and they totally liked it. and the price was certainty cheapet than other places. we stayed at vrbo in Georgetown and drive was 15 minutes tops. lift tickets were 63.00 but I purchase tickets from ebay from local sellers and got them for 40. also the shell gss staition gave me a bogo free coupon when I bought ten gallons of gas which was an even better deal. all in all I would recommend.
They have a warning hut with hot coco(for the kids) and beer(for the dad) above tree line
The guys at the ticket office are very helpful and understanding. Thanks!
