This Hotel is very poor. Rooms and general decor are extremely tired and in need of an update and repair.
Cold, noisy and uncomfortable. All things that hotels should not be and all what this hotel is.
Shower was either boiling or freezing.

If you have the choice then I would not stay here.

Very nice rooms and Very friendly staff and excellent location. Single bed was a little uncomfortable for me and TV was intermittent with the channels (i often find that at hotels), but overall a lovely central hotel and would recommend.

A big disappointment

A big disappointment
The hotel is only beautiful in the photos on the site.
Almost false advertising!
If some of the staff are friendly, everything else leaves something to be desired, starting with breakfast where stale bread fights a duel with half a croissant. Not had a single real English breakfast in a week.
You have to run after the waiters to get a spoon, so that the bread is delivered.
As for the rooms, they are old-fashioned, damaged. The elevator very small.
Poor insulation in the rooms, lukewarm water.
Really nothing to do with what is described on their site.

I had a good double room but unfortunately the light of the bathroom wasn't working after a night .. They fixed it after 24 hours !! .. And after a few hours it wasn't work again, whenever I asked for service they just said ok we will fix it but nothing happened!!

Also it was winter, and the heater of water in bathroom wasn't working for 2 days !!

This is the worst hotel all over the London. They missed our reservation and the action of receptionist is super bad. Then one guy of our party stayed super small room and they charged same price with another rooms(200GBP). And they also said that they can't send us the receipt.
After I came back to L.A, We tried to call them to issue the receipt, But they don't answer yet. They still ignoring me.
Anyway I never stay this hotel and absolutely can't recommend to stay this hotel.

Lowest service! In order to stay in one room with others, it was changed to one double bed despite having booked two beds half a year ago. Moreover, at the time of arrival at 8:00 on the day there was no explanation at all. (I could change the hotel at this point if I had an explanation.) It turned out for the first time in the evening for check-in. Asking for a response in the extra bed but also "cannot prepare" single point. Lastly, this is a concession and one day's bedclothes are laid on the floor. In the meantime, there is no apology. The other party's claim is only "sleep for a night or so". There is no discount at least after negotiations, it's not a joke. The worst hotel from an ethical perspective! I will never stay again.

We stayed here on a package tour of HIS. It may be better to look for cheapness, near the station, but I do not want to stay forever. There was no air conditioner in the room, it was very cold with hot water heating, and I took a shower of lukewarm water every day because the shower was not satisfactory. The shower room is also full of mold. Furniture, walls and windows have been battered for over 100 years. As soon as you open the door of the room, it is in the corridor, but there is a gap of several centimeters under the door, so the sound leaks and the wind is cold. It was with breakfast, but I only eat this badly for one day.

Had afternoon tea here with a voucher bought as a gift. This place is hilarious - it's like stepping back in time (not in a good way), the decor is something Hyacinth Bucket would pick with pink frills and chintz. The afternoon tea was pretty basic with soggy microwaved scones, cheap jam and rock hard 'bite-size' cakes. It seemed like it had been sitting on the cake stand all weekend and we got last choice for freshness! Mixed gender (the gents was out of order) toilets were disgusting and over-flowing with dirty sinks. We left as quickly as possible!
On a plus note the staff were lovely and polite. It did feel a bit like they were embarrassed to work there for which I don't blame them.
There are many, many better places in London for afternoon tea and it's worth spending the extra for something decent.

A stable ..... And I made a compliment! The bathroom was disgusting, holes in the walls, bleached panels, silicones stuck everywhere and even scotch to hold the fan in place, chipped floors and torn carpet. Not even 5 euros I would have given him in Italy, instead in London almost 100 a day. The photos of the site are all one, the only decent one of the photos perhaps, I have also seen the others and I have not felt envy. Fortunately it's over. Never go there, never ever.

Not baby friendly!!! I went there for afternoon tea with my friend and baby; phoned before hand and booked and I let them know we will have a baby with us and they said that was OK. When we were there and asked if they had baby changing facilities in the bathroom or somewhere else they said no and sugested we change the baby's nappy outside on the street !!?!! It's was cold! End up having to change nappy by the bar!

Basically Fawlty Towers without John Cleese but the location cannot be beat. Two fire alarms went off in the middle of the night with no indication that anyone was bothering to let anyone know if they were safe or not, I had to call to make sure. Front desk gave you the feeling that they were annoyed to see you even if you were just handing them a key with a smile. The ceiling leaked water onto the bathroom floor and when we asked for a top sheet on the bed we were told 5 minutes, when we called an hour later we were told 5 minutes again. They never did locate us. We knew going in that the location was the thing, and we weren't disappointed in that regard though, so overall the rest were minor irritants.

One star for good location, and that s it. The place is so old and somewhat dirty. The rooms are confided and small, the whole place is just falling apart. Some flies flying around here and there. Honestly after just a couple of hours staying in this hotel made me homesick. Definitely do not recommend this hotel for any visiting tourists. It s better to look elsewhere for a while longer, trust me it s better.
Update: I ve finished my stay at the hotel. If you pay for lunch or dinner, you basically only get the exact same 5 choices to choose from each day. I got so sick of eating the same thing each day. Don t buy the dinner at all. It s a waste of my money.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room didn't match the reservation at all - twin beds, not double, no air conditioning, broken hair dryer, scratched and worn furniture, towels were falling apart, the whole hotel needs redecorating. No hot food available at breakfast. Truly terrible. London's own Fawlty Towers!

I stayed at this hotel from the 19th to the 21st of January as part of a group of 13 people. Our main complaints included: 1. Upon arrival, the front desk was confused and couldn't find some of our reservations. 2. Several or our rooms had no or insufficient heating. (January). 3. Several of our rooms had no hot water. 4. The spartan breakfast was announced available at 7 a.m. After waiting for 10 minutes, we were asked at 7.45 to come back in 15 minutes. 5. When we did arrive Napkins and various articles of trash from the night before were still strewn about the floor of the breakfast area. 6. On the last day, we asked the front desk to hold our luggage until about 14.00. Upon our return, we discovered that the front desk allowed someone to walk off with one of our bags. Their incompetence was compounded with the arrogance of the front desk staff who refused to check their records to see who had checked out having left baggage behind so that we could possibly contact them before they left the country. The manager wisely interjected that we had left our luggage in their care at our risk and peril. CONCLUSION: Bad hotel, stay away.

iPAD STOLEN in the room.

iPAD STOLEN in the room.

The last December stayed at this hotel over Christmas. One afternoon we were in our rooms not, someone entered the room key (which you are forced to leave at the front desk every time you leave the hotel) and someone stole our iPad that we had in a drawer and we searched our suitcases.

Following a complaint to the police and several complaints from us to the hotel, they told us that they do not take care of the robbery.

We believe they should be responsible for the theft and someone entered the room when they had our keys.

They excuse that he had to be saved in the (rather small) safe but still they came with the key, at no time forced the door.

Disappointing!

The iPad is stolen from our room.

Last December, a family settled in this hotel to spend Christmas. During an afternoon when we were not in our rooms, they entered with the room key (which they force you to leave at reception every time you leave the hotel) and they stole the iPad that we had kept in a drawer and they searched us the suitcases.

After reporting to the police and several complaints from us to the hotel, we have been informed that they are not responsible for the theft.

We believe that they should be responsible for the theft since they entered our room when they had our keys.

They excuse themselves that we should have kept it in the safe (quite small, by the way) but they still entered with the key, at no time did they force the door.

Disappointing!

Our annual girly weekend in London in November 18....

Our annual girly weekend in London in November 18. On the surface, lovely hotel! Down to the nitty gritty it seemed to be one thing after another.
We understand November is cold but we have central heating in hotels, right?
Wrong! Not only did our bed mattresses not have any form of support. We sank to the bottom of the base.
We also had inch gaps around the windows having to try and plug the drafts with anything we could get our hands on and sleep in our socks and hats due to the lack of heating . We were too cold to shower in the freezing bathroom!

The next morning we were thankfully moved to another room which had no drafts and a warm bathroom....wait for it...staff had not taken note of our pre paid breakfasts or our pre paid afternoon tea which was not ready when we had specifically booked it for a certain day and time. In fact they knew nothing about it!
So our afternoon tea was nearly an evening dinner by the time we waited for it, nearly missing out on our VIP seated tickets at the theatre.

Now having indigestion from legging it to the theatre not to miss the show we d waited all year for !
The hotel manager apologised and promised to send us a discount for our next visit.
We are still waiting 10 months later!
Don t think we will be returning !

On a positive, this did not deter us from having a great weekend And the location of the hotel was perfect across the road from the tube station!
Other Positives:
Very clean
Food is great loved the menu choice ( apart from the concrete scones - afternoon tea)
Nice atmosphere
Staff very friendly ( apart from the cleaner who shouted at my friend and told her to get out the room as someone was coming in - lack of communication from manager )
Lovely festive decor.
Very nice hotel decor, loved the wall paintings in the restaurant.
Oh and the staff did a lovely job of dressing the Christmas tree in reception. Very festive !

Very very friendly staff. Unfortunately, there is one point deduction, as the breakfast offered leaves a lot to be desired. There was no more bread and otherwise only cheese. It's funny. Otherwise the hotel was clean and can be recommended. What is very important to you is the fact that the staff is very honest. Something lost was brought back to me.

Update:

It's been two months since my visit and to date I haven't got the 50 pounds back! The staff replied flatly and unfriendly with the words, I should know how it works one day I would get it again! Inadequate!! So I was allowed to count 50 pounds on top for nothing and the hotel doesn't care.

The structure is located in a strategic place to easily reach the various points of London, unfortunately the service, the rooms, the breakfast and the dining rooms are dilapidated, old and dirty. The poor and not very varied breakfast. Absence of wi fi (even if they guaranteed it) not to mention the very small, slow and unsafe lift. The final negative surprise was the return taxi booked by the hotel which asked us for an exaggerated amount more than double the outward journey and probably an abusive taxi

I was offered free beverages while booking but not even bottled water was given !WiFi is not reliable for the last four days ! Very unreliable service, There is a Sir Williams Tea Box which they make sure kept empty & clean always ! A total rip off ! Shame to Expedia whom I booked through & shame to hospitality !No room service . Toilet seats are wooden & accumulate bacteria on it , we used a lot of anticeptics we had to keep it usable.
They advertise 20% discounts if you book second time, but it is also like& I had to pay more when I booked second time ! The liers ! This is my fourth visit to UK & never been cheated like Elizabeth Hotel !

I went for 4 nights at the London Elizabeth Hotel. I found myself very badly at first I was given a small room on the third floor. A wooden floor all destroyed and dilapidated. A tiny bathroom, run down and dirty. no bath. From the window it came in poorly situated cold. I protested strongly and the next day I changed the room on the first floor. Though not comparable to a 4-star room as advertised on Vologratis site. Breakfast absolutely mean! I don't recommend it to anyone! price-quality ratio is absurd!

For Taiwanese guests to be perfunctory, the air-conditioning is basically broken, the heat died and went to the counter to respond, requesting to provide an electric fan, but directly hang up the phone.
Continued reaction until the third day, only to take a mobile air-conditioning, but the hot air duct is broken behind, blowing hot air behind the front of the cold air, it is to go to the whole
Asked to change the room, the room clerk showed me the housekeeping service, there is room available next door, the counter lady is not willing to change, sincerely suggest to consider more

Very very run down hotel. We've stayed in the past and while it's always been a bit "rustic" it's never been this run down.

Our room didn't have a working toilet, was told we couldn't be moved so spent the night without access to a working toilet.

Pillows were almost non existent, just fabric covering up a very thin layer of old feathers.

Wallpaper was peeling, bathroom fixtures rusted and stained. Didn't dare take a bath as it looked like the tub hadn't been cleaned in months.

Alarm clock/radio had been smashed and was in pieces on the bedside table.

Room had an AC unit but it didn't work and no way to turn off the heat apparently so we had to leave the windows open to make the room a liveable temperature.

Lobby staff however were pleasant and nice however there's no way that anyone should be staying here.

I noticed that the hotel is now up for sale. Hopefully new owners can bring some much needed repairs.

The hotel location is great for Hyde Park & Paddington, the room standards & quality are lacking but to be fair this is reflected in the price. The hotel decor is tired and in real need of a makeover and the rooms quite basic. However for a short stop over it is adequate. The staff are business like yet not overly socially interactive. Finally the rose garden drinks area could do with some TLC & it would then be quite delightfull. In summary, a standard hotel, that could be great, with some effort.

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our ho...

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our honeymoon in London. It seemed to have good reviews and the pictures looked good online but that was not the case when we arrived. The building is old and looks nice from the outside, but inside is another story. To get up to our 4th floor room, we could either try the elevator which was so tiny you can only fit one person with a suitcase, or take the stairs, which past the 3rd floor have a definite and terrifying slant to them.

The room was small with the feel of staying in a grandma's spare room. The bed was advertised as king sized but it was a British double bed--much smaller than expected. The bed was covered in a disgusting stained and threadbare blanket which thank god the maid removed after the first day-no way was I sleeping under that. The bed and pillows were hard and lumpy to the point that I woke up with my ear hurting from lying on the pillow. There is a TV but the remote didn't work and the front desk didn't give us more batteries when we asked. The whole room is slightly slanted and it's quite noticeable when sitting on the toilet.

The bathroom had one of the worst showers I've ever been in. There's a glass door that only goes halfway across the tub so you never get warm in the shower. The shower head pointed straight down and my 6'3" husband couldn't even stand under it. We ended up securing the shower head with a hair elastic so it at least pointed at a normal angle. On two occasions there was straight up no water when I turned on the shower. God forbid you want to shower in the morning-there's just not enough water in the building. Oh and the front desk did nothing when we complained about the lack of water.

The one and only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is the proximity to the Lancaster Gate tube stop and Hyde Park. Don't make our mistake and do not stay here.

the location of the hotel is very good. Breakfast was ok, dinner in the restaurant of the hotel was good. Unfortunately, the menus did not show that. The hotel is quite old, but has a lot of charm. The rooms were clean. However, the carpets in the whole hotel did not make a good impression. The staff (mostly at the front desk) was mostly friendly, but at times seemed uncertain, not very communicative, closed. We were greeted casually. Here I would wish for more professionalism. At the breakfast we were served very friendly. WLAN hardly worked. The reception made an impromptu impression.

Probably the worst hotel I've stayed at. The service was poor, the staff couldn't greet one when walking past them and not a smile from anyone there. In the middle of check in so just went the person who was in charge of our check in because he stopped for the day. When I then went to the person who was left, he had no idea about our check-in or was the form I filled in and left. After a little searching he found it just thrown in one place at the reception. Very cold in the rooms, max 15-16 degrees, they had the heat for a little while in the evening then they shut it off. The rooms were certainly nice and in good condition 100 years ago but much had probably not happened in those years. We should not talk about the bathrooms. Then maybe it didn't help that our room was next door to the kitchen behind the reception. Did not directly enhance the impression. The sad thing is that it could have been a genuine and good hotel, but then it needs to be cleaned up and staff and management replaced. If I should say something positive, it is that the beds were comfortable.

The staff are incredibly rude and are simply an embarrassment. We booked the hotel 3 months in advance and when we turned up, we were told that our room was not ready and that 'their system was down'. Whilst trying to get their system sorted, the staff behind the counter, 4 of them, simply laughed between themselves and showed no concern what so ever. They occasionally glanced over at us but made no effort to try and defuse the situation. They then decided that they would take our bags so we could try and enjoy the rest of our time in London. We then returned 8 hours later and the first word they said, before hello or how was your day, was unfortunately. 'Unfortunately, the couple before you took the room key and so we will have to let you in and out of your room when you wish to leave or enter. We were then shown to a classic twin room. We booked, 3 months ago, a classic double room. They couldn't even get that correct. So after returning to the reception to inform them that we did not receive what we ordered, we bumped into another family who were treated poorly. This family had ordered 2 rooms for their family but were informed that there were no rooms available and were then cramped into one room. I then spoke to one of your colleagues- a blonde/fair haired woman to see if I could obtain the contact details for her manager. She was very rude and reluctant to provide these details. I understand that the name of the Director is Paul. Paul, if you are reading this, then please reshuffle your staff and sort out the lackluster customer service. I would also like for you to contact me so we can discuss the exceptionally poor experience that we encountered from the hotel. Not only did the Queen Elizabeth Hotel ruin our mood, it ruined the entire trip. I honestly can't believe how poor this experience was.

London Elizabeth is a nice place to stay if you are traveling on a budget and want old fashioned vibes. The wait staff and the receptionists are quite pleasant. The sea bass at the hotel was also surprisingly delicious! My friend ordered the chicken paella and had the same reviews. Location is great as well. However, if you are severely germophobic you may want to skip this to find a more modern hotel.

Fatal, disorganized and long. We booked a deluxe double room that has 19m2 because (I notified the hotel) we have a 4 month old baby and we needed a place.
When we arrived we were given a room that was no more than 7m2 and that was sad.
When we went down to reception they said yes, it was their mistake and they couldn't do anything because they had everything complete. They told us that the next day they would change us to a suit to compensate for the first night. When we ask for our suite the next day (after having us take out all the luggage and be 5 hours without a room) they give us the key to a double deluxe room (what we had booked). When we told the person who was at the reception that day about the suite, he told us that there was an error again and that the suite was occupied. In addition to that breakfast consists of bread, something like cooked ham, bar cheese, 2 types of dried buns, oatmeal flakes and chocolate cereals. Do not dream of some fruit or a yogurt, they do not even have decaf coffee.
