Turned up and our room was not available so they sent us to another hotel. We were rushing due to a black tie event and were late due to the hotels mismanagement of the situation. Nightmare all round

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Less Boutique, more Bric-a-Brac. Currently staying here and wishing we hadn't paid up front so we could escape to a better hotel. It would appear that when I stepped into the hotel room, I also stepped back in time to 1974. It smells like my granny's house. There's so much noise coming from the road, I thought the window was open. Room also backs onto the stairs so can't wait for guests to start traipsing up and down later on. The fire alarm bell is right outside the room and due to a fault, has gone off 4 times in the last 90 minutes. Bathroom fixtures look like they should've been replaced 20 years ago. TV remote control is actually disgusting, don't want to think what germs are on there. What's even more astounding is that they're fully booked and I can't change rooms. Oh, and that's 5 times for the fire alarm now.

This hotel is charming to look at, but is in desperate need of updating. Our room was sweltering hot, no hot water in the shower, only hot water in the sink, noisy, and the breakfast was 30 minutes late- so we didn't get to eat before leaving for a tour. I'm extremely disappointed. For the price, it should be MUCH better!!!!!!!!!!!

Do Not Risk Staying Here. I m sure this was a nice hotel at one point but now that it is in liquidation it is not well run.
We arrived at the hotel around 10 PM at night to a story of our rooms not being available because of a computer error. We had 3 rooms booked, the manager kept saying they only had us down for 2. We showed the manager the reservation confirmation for 3 rooms, but he kept insisting we only had 2. The manager stated he was trying to get us a room at a sister property.
While this was going on, another guest locked themselves out of their room. The night manager could not find the spare key and handed the guest a Key Ring with 20-30 keys and said try one of these, there should be a master on there someplace. The scary thing about this is the manager handed over a bunch of keys to various rooms to a hotel guest!!
After about an hour and a half of trying to find a place to put us, the manager put us in a cab and told us the name of the hotel they were sending us to. Turns out the manager was sending us to a different hotel, a 3 star instead of 4 star, and told the cabbie not to say anything to us. The cabbie ignored the manager and told us what was going on. At this point it was 1 AM and we didn t care, we just needed hotel rooms to get kids to sleep.
We reserved a total of 5 beds across 3 rooms. The hotel they sent us to said they could only give us 2 rooms with 2 beds. The rooms we were given did not have air conditioning and did not have private bathrooms. We ended up having to purchase a third room.
After this, we called the website we used to book the travel. When the travel website contacted the hotel about the issue, the hotel claimed it was our fault and that we requested the change when we checked in. The hotel refused to admit their error.

Ugly bedroom, you can ear your room neighboor. Breakfast is not so good. Bathroom is quite old and not pratical to use plus is small. The elevator is very small, only for 3 persons maximum. The strairs are not straight we can think it is going to fall. Wifi is not working. The only positive point is that you are close from the underground or bus stop. There is no restaurant you have to go in another district to eat. The whole building seems to be falling into ruin.

It annoys us that we did not check out TripAdvisor for this hotel before we booked - service is not much of it, it is almost out of the female receptionist that she will just sweep us off as soon as possible.
The breakfast is not worth taking, dry boring bread, you have to remove the food and use the waitress if you want a table, and you are nervous about falling through their pierced chairs ..
There is no hot water in the morning / morning and here is incredibly loud at the hotel.
The cleaning staff on the other hand are incredibly sweet and accommodating ..

Warning! Warning! Hotel to avoid took everything! I am from Canada. 2nd viste in six months. Never book at this hotel! I pay for a room with 2 double beds for 3 adults. We had a room with just a bed. The staff did nothing to accommodate us. We had a very small room with a bed for 3 adults. No air conditioning. The lock of protection after the door was broken.Toil defective, no space to move in the room etc ... Tonight I will have to sleep on a chair and the other two in the bed. I asked for a third towel, but we will have to resign ourselves to sharing the two napkins. This is the worst customer experience I have experienced since traveling. Hotel to avoid!

Horrible experience in this dirty, awful place. Receptionist was sleeping behind the counter and had to wake him up to check in! Mattress was soiled and we could hear the mice making noise at night (quite scary). Breakfast was the worse part with croissants chopped into pieces, sweaty cheese, left over butter, instant coffee ...yuk

The hotel is perfectly located in Oxford street, 10 steps to Lancaster gate station (central line-one stop to Marble arch), and 2 steps more you will be inside Hyde park.

Rooms are old but clean, room space was excellent compared to london average rooms spaces.

Good hotel with friendly staff. Quirky layout inside a historic building in the middle of London and just steps from an Underground station and Hyde Park. The location really couldn't be better. The rooms could use a bit of updating but overall our stay was quite pleasant!

The hotel is looking tired and run-down, the staff are friendly and helpful, but the room and the facilities were not at the standard that we expected. It's very well located, but if you're expecting a four star experience, you will be disappointed.

Staff friendly however the rooms are extremely dated and although breakfast is stated as included it is a terrible continental one and you need to pay extra for a cooked one. Unfortunately will not be staying again and do not recommend for the money staying in london. Go somewhere else and or pay more

We have only tried the Persian restaurant. Obviously you need to be ready to test new flavors and then we ask for suggestions. We tasted various Iranian dishes and we were very pleased with both me and my wife and my son.

Nothing quaint about it. Rude staff, small stuffy rooms, elevator fits one person and the place simply cannot accommodate everyone for breakfast or check in/out. Hyde Park was the only saving grace.

I bought a Groupon of brunch for 2. The food was terrible! I'm not a fussy eater, but the waffle my sister got was Tesco bag store bought cold and I got such a bad food that could not finished it at all.. trust me it's worth you money if you are looking to spend a nice afternoon. You have Bester food and cheaper going to McDonald's than here. I truly don't like giving bad reviews, but it was such a bad experience! Complete waste of money

Typical London hotel, "old" furnishings, stained carpeting and chairs in the room, peeling walls at various points.
Breakfast offers little milk, coffee and cold tea.
It is possible to leave the suitcases at the hotel after check-out, but at the reception practically within the reach of anyone who enters.
Very bad.

Not clean,
Room very dated,
Not wheelchair/ easy accessible when we were put on floor 4.
Bathroom broken + roof damp.
Also bar had a very small range, and what was there was very expensive!!!!!!!
Also prior to coming, phone call was made about services at hotel; but due to a very small language barrier between me and the person on the phone they hanged up with an anger!!!

They get 2 stars for location which is top notch. Worn rooms and really bad breakfast. Also, go somewhere else and eat your breakfast.
Level of cleanliness was fine, but due to the worn condition of the hotel, you do not see it.

Very helpful and clean and warm. A big beautiful bathtub in my room. Restaurant there gives a little discount and the food is good, and it had a lovely ambiance. The breakfast is a little underwhelming. They let me take my food to go (back to my room ). There was a little frig.

To be honest, I only stayed less than one hour while I paid the amount of 2 nights. It is so unclean, scary, not a proper for people who are looking to stay in mid of London and expecting a real comfortable nights on clean beds.

One minute from the Lancaster Gate underground station, it is a distance from Paddington that you can not walk while dragging your suitcase. There are two bus stops in the immediate vicinity (by the destination, in front of the hotel and on the side of Hyde Park), and it is easy to go home from the downtown area by night bus. I think the official photo is very beautiful image, but it is not old and modern because the base is a building over 100 years old. It depends on the individual whether it is regarded as a taste. I have been using it for the past 10 years and I like it. Well, because there is also an about aspect, the bill amount should be paid on the night before checkout, and it is better to put together a note in the room. There was only one occasion when another person's restaurant bill was mislaid.
If you want a personalized service and the latest equipment, just use that hotel. People are mirrors.

Four stars says the hotel .... not even close! completely outdated and rancid, badly educated staff and with little desire to collaborate, yesterday to feed me they almost forgave me and treated me with very bad faces and bad manners. The room is typical of a hostel, carpet floor and completely irregular, the bathroom does not work properly and no requests are given. The only good thing is the communication with public transport and only 2 or 3 people are saved from the entire Hotel. A special mention to Sebastian who treated us in a very close way and was one of the few nice people with us.
It is a hotel that I do not intend to return, much less recommend.

Dirty dishes, torn and dirty tablecloths. No heating in the room. Ripped and moldy carpets on the walls. Horrible breakfast, no fresh bread, cold milk, some days without juice, no milk chocolate, the staff who were rude at night and extremely arrogant. This hotel should be rated under pension!

Worst hotel in London, you will get much better peace of mind staying in a Premier inn or Holiday Inn.
How do I know? regrettably - I worked there. The owner and management team are a joke.Car park is extortionate & there were mice / rat problems in the kitchen.
Don't waste your time or money. There is much better for much less.

Do not buy, do not book, do not visit this hotel. Sadly we booked an afternoon tea here. For my mums 70th birthday. The photos are old and not true. Our table was not set for us. The table cloth had holes.
They demanded to see the groupon voucher before sitting us down. Totally embarrassing. It was my mums 70s. With lots of family. We waited 1 hour sat with tea only. Rude waitress. No scones. Really dossapointed. Music was Turkish. Not english tea. Room was tiny and very hot. Really disappointed and wont be back.

The London Elizabeth is perfectly placed for gett...

The London Elizabeth is perfectly placed for getting around London and that is the best thing I can say about the hotel.
The food is good but beware the hidden service charge. The room we stayed in was clean but very dated and in serious need of sorting out. There was only a few tea bags and coffee in the room for making a hot drink and no milk which wasn't a problem we bought some, shame the fridge didn't work properly so it went off in just over a day, we asked in the morning if we could take some up from breakfast to have a drink before we left and you'd have thought we'd asked for the moon, 3 people later and permission was reluctantly given
If you want just a base to explore London it's ideal but for, comfort forget it
It's not worth the 4 stars it's supposedly got or worth the money that we paid

We stayed for 5 nights in September 2018 from Perth Australia. This was our first time in London. The hotel location was great, Hyde Park and Lancaster Station across the road, Paddington Station a short walk. Our room was clean and comfortable, had a good shower and lighting in the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast although the same every morning was also good. Elevator was small and only fits 2 people.
Staff at reception Robert & Maria were very friendly and Robert went out of his way to offer help and advise to us when we asked.
Overall a very pleasant stay, thankyou.
