Go there, Go early, be patient it's busy....and most of all savor the flavor!

The pizza and bruschetta was delicious! Just note that it can get pretty noisy, so if you're sound sensitive, bring headphones/ear defenders.
For decades this was my go to spot for white clam pizza. Very disappointed.
I now know what the mall chain Garabaldi's Pizza is trying to taste like. I think they might have done a better job too.
I'll admit that I'm slightly biased being from Chicago. We were in NYC so I had to give the pizza a try. I had heard that this place was one of the best AND it's the first pizzeria in America. It's very touristy so we waited 45 minutes, not a huge deal considering it is very small inside. The service wasn't the best, our waiter didn't seem to care that we were there. We were polite and didn't have any requests. Just drinks, appetizer, and pizza. He forgot to bring drinks to some of the people in our 5 person group, not even a large group. He forgot utensils and sauce for our appetizers. We ordered a large sausage pizza and a small pepperoni. In my mind, most pizza is good pizza and this was just that. Nothing memorable, just standard pizza. I did think it was odd that the cheese is just sporadically on there. They only take cash, so there is an ATM machine outside. Overall, it was okay. A little overpriced.
Pizza is not good, there are better and cheaper ones anywhere in New York. Drinks tastefully musty.
The welcome we received was really cold, as if they didn't want us there. They have waiters in black shirts (mostly Mexicans) and order takers in white (Italians). After trying to get the attention of someone to take our order, the lady came over reluctantly with a clear irritated expression on her face. The pizza and starters arrived at the same time. The Bruschetta was over salted, which was a shame, because the tomatoes looked good. The Margherita was well made, and in all, my family and I enjoyed the meal, but not amazing. I've had better from my local in London. We ate quickly and left, as there impression I got was we were not welcome there. Even as we left, there was no warmth or comments from the waiters or manager, of wishing us to return. Really bizarre experience. I definitely would not return again, or recommend others to do so. The place had got history, but you can't live in the past. There are so many other pizza restaurants that offer the same, if not better, and actually make tbe effort to smile and welcome their customers.
Pizza is good, a little disappointed with the service: paper plates, plastic cups ... only cash
The food here was so good. I give them 6 stars if I could. Try the pepperoni and sausage if you are a meat eater :)
The original pizza in America! Get the margherita pizza!
We got the small margherita pizza with a pitcher of soda. The crust was probably the best I've ever had. The sauce was delicious. I would have liked twice as much cheese and a lot more basil but overall it was very good. The service was very nice and we really liked our server. Be aware they only take cash but there is an ATM on site.
One of 2 pizza's crust got burnt. The taste of the food was good. Friendly staff! Worth going.
I was so disappointed and was expecting much more considering this is the oldest pizzeria. First of all it's expensive and over rated. Plus if you are going to be charging these kind of prices you would expect proper silverware, nope this is all paper plates, plastic cutlery and plastic cups. Refills are not free and they didn't seem to have Coke products because my Sprite tasted like watered down Sierra Mist or something! We ordered the bleu cheese salad to start with $11.00! It was a big portion but definitely over priced. For the pizza we ordered a large meatball and the other half meat ball and pepperoni. To be honest we had better pizza at the hole in the wall places around NYC, this one was dry and pretty bland. I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend either, better trying the other places around NYC.
** Oh and beware this is cash only, my husband had to use the ATM located across the street to get cash out, very inconvenient considering its 2017!
The meal was very small in size, the taste wasn't that good for the money you pay. Typical tourist trap, please avoid!
A++ and ! Great food, Nice atmosphere and Nicky was an awesome waitress! If you go here, ask for her!
We somehow hadn t heard about Lombardi s until our theater usher at The Lyric Theatre, Hector (amazing guy!), recommended us. So much charm and character...and the pizza was PHENOMENAL. We ordered a Lg. Margherita Pizza and a Lg. Buddy pizza both were fantastic and our party of 4 left ZERO leftovers. Be advised, it is CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM on site! The sauce was great, the ingredients were flavorful and fresh, and the crust was downright EPIC. Thanks, Lombardi s.
Completely subpar, the pizza crust was like cardboard and the ingredients tasted like they were straight out of a freezer. Like almost all American food. Dont bother.
The pizza here is delicious, popular place, friendly staff.
Pizza tastes like cardboard. It is like going out for frozen pizza.
It's changed a lil over the years. No more RC Cola. But that pizza tho. Yum!
When I went to New York I had dinner there (only one day) and they were of a unique elegance, very welcoming and they served you very well. Not to mention the food which was exceptional
I am very much alive in Brooklyn, where pizza is breathed, we waited to enter there were many people, the service is regular, the same as pizza, and the prices up for a pizza, the place is very nice, between 4 we did not finish one, what I like the most, and I did not like it, I was very excited, there are children I do not think there are many people in a wheelchair.
The best calzone I have ever had. Perfectly thin crust with amazing fillings. I got the meatball and pepperoni. So good.
First time there. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the NYC style pizza!
We had the ravioli and it was awesome our waiter was very nice and very attentive. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be going back
Nice people, nice atmosphere and a lot of tradition. Unfortunately, however, also a completely overpriced pizza and little love for food (my opinion). The $ 30 pizza was worth a maximum of $ 5, the bruschetta an insult to Italian cuisine. But for that I was in Little Italy in the first pizzeria in the USA. Your choice.
Great pie, a bit overrated. Still gets a 4 for great quality.
Excellent marinara sauce. Extremely fresh ingredients. Loved the basil on the margarheta pizza.
My husband and I ate here randomly after wandering around Little Italy; we were drawn in by the authentic looking interior and checkered tablecloths. When I saw the prices I suggested we leave - they seemed so high - but I'm SO HAPPY we stayed!!!! Definitely worth it for a special experience. I can't believe some of the bad reviews, I wonder if people just have worn out taste buds from overly salty and sweet cuisine that numbs the senses these days?? Many people are too used to cheap fast-food pizza that's heavy on the cheese, grease and salt. Also, we lived in Italy for a year and tasted A LOT of pizza traveling throughout the country - I can say this is definitely authentic! Of course, Italy has a lot of variety, but this reminded us very much of some of the best pizza we had there. In fact, I would go as far as saying Lombardi's is the best pizza I've ever had, period. I've been making my own pizza for many years and see it as an art, and getting to a pizza like this one is not an easy task at all. I think the restaurant is an experience and a treat, not necessarily something you have on a regular basis (though I would be tempted to). Also, the service for us was excellent. We had no wait time arriving on a Wed. at 7 PM, and our waiter was super friendly and polite. We were going to get two smalls, but he suggested sharing a large to save money, so that goes to show this place isn't out to get your money. We had a half margherita and half white pizza - truly impressive. So I can't speak to other menu items, but theses were on point and beyond. Light crispy crust, perfect amount of cheese balanced with a flavorful sauce and herbs. Who cares the food is served on paper plates - it's about the food - you eat pizza with your hands so why bother about the dishes? Thank you Lombardi's for a great experience that had us feeling nostalgic for our time in Italy. All right, if it's not already clear.. I would highly recommend this place ;-).
Loved it, worth the price for a pie and worth the walk it took us to get there.
This is my second time here and despite the long line outside, this place is worth waiting every minute. The service could be a bit more efficient, but the pizza, wow! Just make sure you get your toppings right and believe me you won't leave disappointed. The price is kind of on the higher end for pizza, but after all, you're in Manhattan. I would not recommend their calzone (I've had better ones elsewhere).
The pizza at Lombardi's is pizza in it's purest form. It's not perfectly representative of "NEW YORK" pizza, as it's Naples-styled. That being said, it's VERY good. They claim to be the "first pizzeria in America" - whether that's true or not, we'll never know, but Lombardi's definitely is a place that's great to visit due to the service, location, and quality.
Right in NOLITA (North Little Italy), it's a unique ethnic microcosm of New York, surrounded by all sorts of other shops and restaurants that truly make Little Italy what it is.
The A/C was a bit weak while I was there most recently, but I'll chalk that up to it being over 90 degrees with 100% humidity outside all day.
The pepperoni is ON POINT. If you're a pepperoni fan, then definitely get a pie with pepperoni.
The waiter/waitress will try and upsell you on the large pie. If you're really hungry, go for it. If you want human portions, just get the small.
They have some good craft and local beer, and they serve pitchers.
If you want the famed "NYC street/bodega/trash slice" - this is not the place, just go to some random pizzeria and go for anything that costs less than two bucks.
If you want a great meal during your trip between eating things like Papaya dog, street meat, and grease bomb pizza, then this is absolutely the place to go.
In regards to Grimaldi's - I haven't been to Grimaldi's since they reopened after moving their location in Brooklyn. It's been years. If you're a pizza buff, go to both.
Good pizza for the hungry traveler. A large pepperoni pie with a coke gets the job done. Yum. This place attracts a variety of people - locals, tourists who are all here for the same thing: yummy authentic pizza. Bring cash.
Service was really bad.
Food didn t come out at same time. The writer was rushing to push to food and while people where eating pizza the dessert was coming on the table and when we asked for coffee they didn t even wanted to do it. I order crostini with prosciutto and they give up pizza with prosciutto .
Will never come back. I m sorry by 10:30 they wanted us out when dinner started at 9pm. Really disappointed!!!!
Had brunch here on a Sunday for a friends birthday. Unlimited mimosas and bellinis were extremely tasty. Our server Brian was nothing short of amazing. I ordered the egg pizza and I loved every single bite. I would definitely teturn here, as the establishment is extremely cute, and the outdoor patio is a summer must!
Great prices, friendly staff, large portions and delicious food
Don't waste your time and money. $1 slice pizza taste better than this.
Pizza was too thin and not enough sauce and I couldn't find the cheese wasn't impressed
Don't forget cash or be ready to use the ATM at the oldest pizzeria in America. If you go at a peak time with a large party, there will be a wait, but I think it is worth. To me, this is the best pizza in NYC and I visit everytime I am in town. Try the margharita pizza with ricotta and meatball added on it. Perfection.
For what you get... way over priced and super mediocre. Can find a lot better pizza places for cheaper...
Great atmosphere and decent beer selection at Americas oldest pizza joint. Top food all round and can highly recommend the calzone
If you like $30 pizzas and waiting an hour, only to be underwhelmed by the taste, this place is for you. Sorry, not a fan. Try Johns of Bleecker Street if you want great NY pizza.
f you are looking for a touristy place and a long wait, then Lombardi's is for you. Food was OK and service left a bit to be desired.
It s decent pizza compared to some other places, but most definitely not the best pizza in NYC. I would actually say it s probably the most overrated pizza in New York because of its name and history. Pizza not so fresh or authentic Italian style and way overpriced for what it was and the service.
The pizza was good, but the calzone was phenomenal! You need to check this iconic place out while in NYC.
Delish margharita pizza! House merlot is the best!! Wish I could find both in Dallas!
Hands down best New York pizza you will ever have. Historic and a staple for the city.
My Husband was so excited to come and taste the pizza since it is made differently that by pizza oven. I thought the pizza was "OK"
A nice little pizza place. The pizza was very good. The calzone on the other hand was nothing to amazing. There was a wait to get in and you could only pay cash.
I liked the place nice food, I got better pizza at Keste than here
Nice Italian pizzeria, with fast service.
Pizza was delicious, unfortunately not cheap at $ 30.
Salad was OK. Unfortunately no card payment.
Iconic pizza restaurant - tourist trap maybe but well worth visiting
Yes I know you all like this place. Sorry - I don t.. I guess I m special.. not my taste.. sorry again
How we always went for the recommendations. A regular pizza It did not meet our expectations. Our dough was thin and was quite toast almost burnt. The place does not accept credit cards only cash but they have a cashier.
Wandering around Little Italy and noticed this is where the crowd was heading for dinner. Cash only place.
We didn't know this place at all but it was packed! Waited about 15 minutes to get seated. Seeing as this is the first pizzeria in America (founded in 1905), this was bound to happen.
We got the table that you see once you cross to the other side of the restaurant space so.. a pretty bad table.
Ordered the original margarita large with extra olives and prosciutto. It was very good but also very standard. Adam and I were also insanely hungry so we scarfed it down in like 10 minutes.
It was a bit expensive for pizza, considering NY is known for cheap as dirt pizza.
Although it is famous, it is also touristy and I'm sure this isn't the best place to get pizza. But you go to say you did and it is worth it if you want the tourist points.
The pizza's were not as good as the reputation! For what they were the menu was overpriced...
Its okay...worth a visit for historical reasons but taste is average.
