Real nice pizza. They don't serve kebabpizza howev...
Real nice pizza. They don't serve kebabpizza however.
Real nice pizza. They don't serve kebabpizza however.
The first pizzeria in the entire United States? Of course it will be good. No words can describe how delicious it is!
It lives up to its reputation and more thanks Lombardi's
I heard a lot about the shop in advance and I was there with high expectations and full of anticipation. Unfortunately, I was disappointed across the board.
The only positive first. If you are lucky enough to get a seat in the front of the restaurant, the restaurant has a certain charm. If you are not lucky enough to only get a seat in the back of the "restaurant", you can eat in a room that is more like a storage room.
The pizza itself was really underground. Very greasy, but totally tasteless. The whole thing is served on a paper plate.
Add to that the outrageously high prices. Sure, New York is not cheap. But I ate much better and cheaper in other restaurants there.
The staff wasn't really rude now,
but you noticed that they are not really trying to please the guests. According to the motto: It's the oldest pizzeria in New York, and that's where guests come automatically.
Which, however, is not wrong. The shop lives solely from this fact.
I cannot recommend this restaurant, purely tourist rip off.
Timo were the best! Thank you for nice food and service!
Home of Pizza in New York & possibly USA.
Grab a pizza, sit outside & watch New York go by as you enjoy every mouthfull
Pizza was ok. Topping on the pizza was average. Dishes were made of cardboard. Pizza was overpriced. Right Tourifalle! Never again!
Pizza is just OK, price is way to high for what you receive! This place is CASH ONLY so keep that in mind. If you are looking to brag to your friends that you visited the first pizza joint in the US, then stop here. If you are looking for good pizza, then look elsewhere. Our bill was $50+ for a large 1 topping pizza and a single glass of sangria after tip. Way over priced! I could understand if this was an upscale restaurant and the service and accommodations were world class, but we were given plastic cups and paper plates. The cheese was the highlight of the pizza. There isn't much of it, but it is good.
Lombardi's was recommended by a friend and I was able to make it there a few weeks ago. Great little spot with old school feel. The white pizza was terrific and the crust had a buttery garlic taste that made sure we ate every speck of crust.
I was recommended this pizzeria, so i went there. 45 minutes queue, but, ok, if it was recommended, it must be good. Pizza was good - not as excelletn as expected, though - but I found it overpriced. Moreover, the restaurant is cash only, and I felt service was pretty much pretentious. Not my best souvenir here...
In Turkey, we are used to not like pizza. A pizza made with real mozzarella cheese. Suitable for Turkish taste. The sauce and dough are nice. The Italian pizza in New York is one of the best places you can eat.
Pizza is good BUT THE FACT WE WERE GIVEN PAPER PLATES AND PLASTIC CUPS FOR WATER WAS THE MOST INSULTING THING EVER!!! Like seriously? We spent a good amount of money to eat from a paper plate .. it s become trash this place
Pizza Pizza Pizza, what a great place to grab a pie! Love the atmosphere, their service is great as well. Friendly Staffs
1905 - 1st Coal Oven Pizzeria in NY! It's Mandatory for any New Yorker, You Gotta try how a REAL PIZZA should taste!
Came with the pizza tour, amazing how with just sauce and very little cheese - how does it taste this good? Incredible.
Great pizza. Friendly wait staff. Cool atmosphere. I will definitely eat here again.
Very good. Better than expected. Being a native New Yorker I thought maybe it was a tourist trap. Glad I was wrong. Definitely one of the best pizzas in NYC. A little pricey, but hey someone gotta pay the rent right. High quality ingredients and very friendly staff. We had a traditional margherita pie and a second pie with eggplant on half.
Very tasty, but the hype does not do it justice. It feels like being handled on a conveyor belt.
The service was good, the guy seemed annoyed of us ordering one drink and small pizza to share between two people. We are travelers so its expected, we did tip and he seemed really unfriendly. He seemed to only care about making tips, rather than service. Paper plates, plastic cups and metal forks/knives. Seems a bit strange, did not offer any water to us...I do not know if thats just a thing in the states.
Avoid if you are a tourist. We we went on a Tuesday and were told we could get a table in 20 min, so we waited at the bar and outside. It was a nice evening and after an hour, they told us they had a table ready, it just needed to be cleaned. While we were standing next to the table, the bus boy came up and seated his friends. I was humiliating. It made me feel just terrible. The hostess and another waiter did scramble around and seat us about 5 minutes later but there s are some degrading politics at that place. Food was good but after such insulting treatment by the bus boy- dressed in black, I could not enjoy it.
Unless you like spending way too much money for sub par pizza in a poorly ventilated restaurant with bad servers, then don't go here. But HEYYYY it's historic right?
It s was decent went there with very high expectations and thinking it would be best as said best pizza of New York and oldest but it was decent not extraordinary , staff was good and helpful they don t take card only cash and old school no refill on anything no bill computerized handwritten so TAKE CaSh whenever you go
I'm not Italian, so I can't speak to the authenticity, but it was delish! I had the calzone, which was amazing, and their marinara sauce was spot on. Went super well with the food. Cash only, so be sure to come prepared!
Great spot for old school !! The bread sticks were so-so but the sauce, pizza and cannoli was amazing! Great service too!!
Quite disappointing. Very mediocre pizza. Unfriendly staff. And high prices. It's only for tourists drawn to the place because of its origin.
The stakes are high for any place listed as best in the world. I thought it was good, but nothing mind blowing, not the best we've had in or even outside of NYC.
Best pizza in New York. I eat here every time i go to NYC!
great pizza, a bit over hyped, expensive and cash only
I had the opportunity to go to this place and I can say that we were served super well and the delicious food at a good price.
The pizza is totally bad ass. First spot I hit when I go in to the city
Waste of time, pizza is no better than anywhere else and the service is poor, tourist trap!
Service was great, but the food was underwhelming for the price. Good, but few options and in a format of restaurant style/real Italian. So if you're looking for an experience, go. If you want to fill that pizza craving, hit up a $2 slice. Honestly I think I would have liked that more.
I know a better place called pizza place in Plattsburgh ny. It's crust is just right and cheese is creamy good. The wings were to fight for.
The pizza was very ordinary served on paper plates and it was really overpriced. it's a tourist trap.
Great atmosphere and the staff is very knowledgeable
By far one of the best pizzas in NYC. Only Frank Pepe's in New Haven is better but that's cause I grew up on it. But Grimaldis is no slouch.
My first time trying, I have found a new love for pizza. The quality of the ingredients really made the taste magnificently delicious. The environment was relaxing as well, I was coming in from the rain and the warm pizza and pizzeria soothed me. I'm glad that this restaurant was the first pizzeria in America.
nice place to hangout. Pizza is great and servers are very friendly. will go back next week i highly recommend this place..
Pizzas are freshly made but not much choices for topping
But after add on all topping will be pricey
Small pizza come with 6 big slices..is more than enough for 3 , if u r not big eater
Small restaurant with limited seat. No baby highchair provided
The wait was not long because this place is huge. There are five different seating areas. Where we were was very warm because it was above the kitchen, which was great because it was extremely cold outside but I could see it getting uncomfortable in the summer. The pizza was excellent. We went for the ricotta and meatball pizza, very tasty! I also recommend the italian soda too!
One of the oldest Pizzeria, not a must try eatery if you feel like having a pizza is fine to give it a try. My service experience for this place is poor.
IT HAD DEFINITELY NOTHING TO DO WITH AN ITALIAN PIZZA, ALTHOUGH THEY MAY CLAIM THE OPPOSITE, BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A QUICK, TASTY, JUICY AND CHEAP PIE, YOU'LL ALWAYS FIND IT THERE!
You have to go to Lombardi s if you go to New York! It s an institution of pizza at this point. Get the Margherita pizza, and bring cash. If I remember correctly, it was around $22 for a small pizza, but you can definitely split it.
Big tourist trap pizza place, sometimes a long line. Must visit if you're in NYC and not been before. Nice pizza too ;)
The best Neopolitan pizza I've ever had. Thin crust, and nice basil leaf on top. A must try.
Beste Pizza. Perfect consistence and very Gold tomato sauce. Service was good. Waitingtime was OK.
Don't waste your time and money. Been going here for years, however been away for a short time. Came back with friends from out of town . The pizza was so dry and tastless. It's sad that it is going on past reparation, not a good product. Will let people know the poor quality of the .
Great Italian pizza, a little on the pricey size though.
This place could totally cash in on the cache of being the oldest continuously-operating pizzeria in the United States, but it's legit good. I always enjoy coming here. Try the dollops of ricotta on your pizza.
The dough was very hard and the taste was so strong. If you look at the bottom of the dough, there are many very dark places. The price is too expensive for taste. The time for making a pizza was about 35 minutes. Even though our time was 4 o'clock. I never thought I would go again.
I loved the pizza, it was more saucy than cheese but still great quality. The only two things i didn't like was how the place wasn't that big and the pizza slices were too small for my liking. Getting there wasn't a problem but waiting to be seated was sort of a problem. I did like being on the second floor because of the cool view. This is a great place to go over the summer with friends, especially if you've never been there before.
We travelled very long distance to try this pizza , because of the history behind it and the coal oven making the pizz , we ordered two pizzas one original and other was white , I liked the pizza bread was crispy , the topping wasn t bad ,it was good to try it and take it out of my mind , but wasn t as wow as I expected it to be ,The staff was really welcoming and offered advice .
Good treatment, fast service and the best food. I recommend the Margarita pizza with meatballs
Very bad pizza. Km away from its namesake in Naples
Best Pizza in America founded 1906? They dont take Credit Cards Cash Only
This is the best pizza in the world! I love this place so much. It's the top thing on my list every time I visit NYC.
Tasty pizza, it was a shame they wouldn't budge on the request for a handful of rocket on our order though. Staff a little pushy with drink orders.
