Kept true to its name and was a square. Lovely experience. Ana and I loved the 7/11 there.

This polish festival is set i the heart of the city offering you a chance to dive in to see some history and to hear traditional polish music and see some traditional dancing after that you can head down to the food trucks where you can eat some traditional food ranging from pierogi to zapankanki

We find that we always end up at least once in Fed Square when we visit Melbourne.

Federation square is the hub of arts, entertainment, and events. There are so many things to do here spending on your interests. Art galleries can be a good start of your day. The Flinder Street station is just next block. You can only sit and soak the sun when Melbourne is sunny. Info hub is here to help you with directions and charge your devices. If you come to Melbourne, Federation Square is a great place to start off your vacation.

Heart of Melbourne City. Must visit if you are in Melbourne. It is also centre of multicultural art and media. Love the huge screen.

New year eve celebration 2019 with huge fireworks & live music. Though crowd was big, but all enjoyed.

Best community meeting point at heart of city, with lot of fun

Very dumb! What a waste of such a great location and landmark. Instead of building this looking like human dry waste, ugly and ill, some nasty creature from hell, no elegance whatsoever, they could well have built a beautiful icon or symbol for Melbourne, right next to the Flinder St station. Such a terrible decision and event! This location could be the equivalent of Syd Opera House in Melbourne, but it is instead used for some brownie disgusting blocks of whatever. Or at least change it to vibrant cheerful colours like red, orange, white and green. Would look much better than grey and brown.

Perfect place for all the age groups. You must visit place if you are in Melbourne. You can also catch tram from most of the main streets. If you like walking then you will enjoy more.

Love this place! The museum, Restaurants, everything is amazing.If you ever get the chance, do the tour-explains everything about it. I remember that I watched AFL grand final on the big screen at fed sqaure. There is always something going on at fed sqaure. Overall-amazing & wonderful place to be there when one is in Melbourne.

Love the contemporary style of the building! It can be really busy with tourists and the locals just for a coffee or a bite...

Great area... to relax and enjoy everything to about Melbourne. especially if you needed information to just taking pictures of the sight of Melbourne and definitely a place to meet friends or even have something to drink and eat. there's a big screen too. has some decent things showns too.

An impressive building, full of exhibitions, some of which are free inside. There is a cute boulevard of shops outside. There is an impressive venue for live performances by local bands

From time to time there will be exhibitions or new things, you can meet up with friends here to go shopping, walk around, or take a ride from here to the next place is also very convenient

Fed sq good place to chill out and relax close to all amenties within walking distance museum art gallery train station and the free tram.

First, they confirmed that the Champions League final will be shown at the Square. Then they backtrack on that decision and tell everyone that it was never an event to begin with. Unprofessional.

Good meeting spot and place to start a city day trip with the kids. ACMI, Artplay, Birrarung Marr Playground, Botanic Gardens and National Gallery of Victoria all nearby.

Melburnians' living room in the CBD. Always something happening, and a great meeting place.

Great place to meet friends in the city. Very much a landmark of Melbourne. Right across the road from the main station of Flinders Street Station and is culturally important as well. Lots of events are run all year round here at Federation Square. The Yarra River is also a stone throw away. For any tourists, this is a must visit all year round. Or just sit by the steps and relax and enjoy the Melbourne city skyline all around you in 360 degree view.

Architecture is special

A must visit place if one is in Melbourne. There's NGV , ACMI and cafes. I personally loved the NGV. There's plenty of amazing art displayed in there.

This is a plaza with a spirit of Melbourne, and often hosts a variety of events, parades and large broadcasts.
It includes the Australian Open and the Australian Football Finals, the Christmas Light Carvings and Christmas Trees, the Symphony Performances on the Stage or the Game Company's Trial Activities, and the Food Manufacturers' Trial in the Square. .

Finding a comfortable chair, lying on it, chatting with friends, or watching the stage show and the big screen broadcast, it is definitely an unforgettable memory.

The NGV, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the beautiful Flinders Street Station and St. Paul's Cathedral Church and Graffiti Street are also Melbourne representatives that cannot be missed.

Its a great place to relax. People are friendly. Wifi is good.

What a popular public space. Feels a bit like a sloping video viewing area. Truly popular venue to meet and spend time with family and friends. Highly recommended.

When I arrived at the Southern Cross station, it was hard to agree that Malvern was like Europe. But the moment I came here, I remember when I was in my 20 's backpacking trip. Old train station, young people sitting on a backpacker in a wide square, romantic trams, old cathedral across the street, Ara Ara ... all this was a feeling of free Europe.

WOW, awesome place to visit when in Melbourne. The cafes and food places are very tempting and hard to decide where to eat. Highly recommend a visit when in Melbourne.

Went today. Great central location and street performances. Lots to see and do nearby. We went to the National Gallery of Victoria Ian Potter Centre. ACMI is also in the square. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby too. Trams and Trains go/depart here.

Melburnians used to hate this ugly place. But now I think we mostly love it. It's turned into a very fine public space.

It s a place with great potential. Unfortunately it s overrun with seagulls and bird poo.
They need to either put up a scarecrow or politely ask the tourists to stop feeding the scavenging seagulls

A great central place in Melbourne. Summer is nicer than winter here

A beautiful open square opposite Flinders Street Station. Always something going on there. Good food and beverage establishments on the outskirts of the square. A nice relaxed place, not much shade so it gets very hot in the warmer months.

Awesome City resting area. Yarra River walk just behind the back steps. Always a cool mixture of different people. The art gallery is very fascinating.

The place no one wants to miss while in Melbourne. Don't hire cabs from here, take the Victoria public transport train or any tram as trams are free in CBD and this square is within the CBD.

In my views I think Federation Square is the heart of the Melbourne's city. The place is very beautiful and the architectural segment is brilliant.

The focal point of the CBD. Right opposite the Flinders train station, it is your launch pad into the central city shopping precinct or a short walk across the river to the south bank and the National Gallery. It is an open area so gets the morning sun a bit earlier than central city streets for that outdoors brunch coffee in autumn and springtime

One of the most famous landmark of Melbourne cbd. A must visit place

We are very lucky to have a place like this, so good for kids to learn in a way that works for them.

The Federation Square is the best place and being visited by all the Melbourne visitors. Daily different event or activities are being performed at this place and very close to Train Station. It's on bank of denub river where bank has been developed in such a way that one can easily spend his/her time just sitting on a bench. Melbourne eye tower is just on 2 minutes walking distance from Federation Square.

There are certainly a lot of cool modern buildings nearby, but I don't understand why Federation Square itself is a tourist attraction.
