One of the best place in Melbourne CBD. Will be more interesting for you if you don't come to CBD very often.
One of the Melbourne city icons that you must visit. If you come to Melbourne and never come to this place, it's the same as you never set foot in the city of Melbourne
Easy access from Flinders St train station and there is always something going on on the weekends. I like to sit there and just watch the world go
nice place to relax and wake around right on the centre
Lovely architecture and nice sit back in the heart of the city. Cafes, restaurants and hotels nearby are really expensive. Though nice ice creams outside Flinder's Railway station
An amazing place, artistically pleasant, user friendly, accessible to NVGand great restaurants and bars. Just loved it.
A must visit when in Melbourne! Unusual but beautiful architecture take your time and have a good look around
Unique designed buildings. Good vibe and great places to visit and eat.
Federation Square, one of the must-see locations in Melbourne
Great outdoor congregation hall for Melbournians and visitors to Melbourne alike
Bloody brilliant, performed at the Tree just yesterday. Amazing experience singing there
No one can ever regret visiting this place. It's worth all the time you spend here. So much of art masterpieces at one place.
Enjoy so much for the last night New Year countdown party...
Little overpriced on exhibitions and films but a good experience
Federation Square is another great meeting point and is a favorite of many. This is where culture, entertainment, education and lifestyle all converge
The space is very versatile as it hosts numerous festivals and organised events. There is ample parking in the structure a few hundred meters away and it is right opposite the train station and tram stops.( all are within walking distance)
I think federation square is like a menu. Once you get there you can decide if you want to go to one of the many cafes, or check out the art gallery, or head over for a walk along the river, or just sit on the steps to people watch weather permitting. Maybe you want to dine at one of the restaurants or meet at the pub for dancing and drinks. Or watch the footy on the big screen. The list goes on....
So you can customise your experience as age is no boundry
Melbourne most famous eyesore. And right next to an iconic land mark.
It is a great place to look around and sometimes the Australian children's Choir performs there.
Family had a great day in the city and loved fed square.
Tons to see here, shopping, great places to eat, stop by as you are touring around.
Will I meet 5 seconds of summer there?? I hope i do
Great public open space with lots of places to get something to eat and drink. Located in the best city in the world.
The area is so happening and one can spend hours here at the various malls n movie houses.
Unusual, fun, inspiring and captivating complpents the surrounding area beautifully.
I was surprised how fashion this square is, the building is wonderful. Compared Sydney, I think Melbourne is much modern and activities.
After world' hard time, when everything is open, recommend tourists come to see Melbourne.
Free wifi, a huge TV to watch especially good when the Australian Open tennis is on to watch the games on. Lots of different food trucks catering to all different tastes in food. Easily accessible by being directly across the road from Flinders St station. Always lots of people around.
A great, vibrant spot to meet, have a coffee and watch Melbourne go by. There's always something on here. Great eateries and places for a drink.
Federation Square is a fun meeting place to catch-up with family and friends.
The reunion spot in Melbourne. There you will find festivals, love kisses, people waiting for someone. They do regular events here as well.
I was doing public viewing for the Australian Open.
This is heart of Melbourne city, this place is just opposite to Flinders street station. I love this place. This picture is taken on Christmas Day where lot of people are enjoying and watching this gigantic Christmas tree.would like to visit again this place on next year New Year s Eve.
It's an ok public space but it's fairly boring & there's not much to see.
Most of the time, there's always something to see and do here.
I always enjoy the Christmas Decorations :)
Wonderful architecture and a great public space to hang out in. Lots of upscale restaurants around for those who fancy a bite to eat or a drink. Great free wifi to use.
Beautiful architecture with this building, not much else to see and do but the building is amazing.
Lovely public space. We went to the Polish Festival on Sunday, spent time looking at the different stalls and then walked along the river where all the traditional Polish food was. We spent the afternoon enjoying the different music performances at Deakin Edge Theatre. This is a really beautiful facility, with good acoustics and has a very intimate feel to it. It is also accessible to people with disabilities.
Daggy architecture but a great place to meet people with many good festivals.
Always a great place to be at any time of the year. Plenty of free events, food festivals, movie screenings. Close to major tram and train stops. Some popular bars and restaurants around as well.
Such a great public 'square'; always feels good to be there.
Cool little area to chill out in Melbourne always something to see! Would recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne! Its also very close to everything including ACMI which always has something to do or see.
Watch for events. Its a blank space without any event

For tourist, you can ride horse drawn carriage for AUD120 around 30mins roundtrip.
It's a huge place with so much to see. Reserve some time to go around and enjoy this artistic place.
Great meeting place with many venues to get a bite to eat or a catch up drink.
Views are fantastic with lots of perspective angles all around for the photographic buff.

At Polish Festival, great day, very busy, weather was excellent.

Cool vibe and people, you can't catch uber or othe ride shares out of there as of now, but there is a tram station right on the square.
Federation Square is a bizarre piece of architecture that tries hard to blend with the historic buildings that surround it. It is a popular meeting point and public space for special events, pop-up promos and casual stroll.
Heart of Melbourne. Opposite Flinders Street Station.
It is a nice experience as learning a new language. Quite interesting.
In my views I think Federation Square is the heart of the Melbourne's city. The place is very beautiful and the architectural segment is brilliant.
Such a cool place to chill and watch something on the huge public screen! Always something happening here.
