Loco Burro Fresh-Mex Cantina Reviews

A little chaotic, but the atmosphere, food, and drinks were quite good. The rooftop is well designed with restrooms, acoustic music, full bar with some tables under cover and nice views. They have an app that helps during peak hours. They told us the wait time, they took our information, we went to a nearby bar for drinks while we waited, and were texted when our table was ready! A little disappointed that when we went back another night for drinks that the rooftop was closed for a couple of hours between dinnertime and nightlife time, but overall, we liked it.

I didn't get to try it because nether hostess ever acknowledged our presence.... a little customer service goes a long way.

Great facility with a very friendly staff. Great beer prices and great conversation at the bar! Joe is the man and he owns that bar. My man has jets !

Very unimpressed with going here when we finally got seated the waiter was very rude and hard to understand because he would continue to walk by and talk to us. When getting the appetizer he completely cut us off by saying yea, okay and walked off, we left and went to Smith and Son corner kitchen and it was AMAZING!

We ate here for the first time today and it was great! We were skeptical at first because we weren't sure they would have stuff that is 3 and 4 year old would like. We were excited that not only did they have a kids menu but it was a great kids menu! The menu options were great for our party of 6.

Our waiter was wonderful and the wait time on our food was satisfactory. The food tasted amazing and you were given very large portions.

You are given 3 choices of salsa and the chips were great!

Great experience. Waited about 25 min for a table, and was definitely worth it. The food was phenomenal and the service was second to none. Definitely try sitting on the balcony if possible, gives a nice view of the street and great ppl watching... Plus your covered if it rains.

Make sure you check this place out of you are in downtown Gatlinburg! It is great Tex Mex and the rooftop seating provides a great atmosphere.

Food was cold waited 45 minutes. Order steak fajitas no sizzling cold rice and beans. Never go back.

I've been thinking about their salsa since I ate there. It's so different than other Mexican restaurants. I loved my meal too.. service was pretty quick even though they were packed. Would return. My advice: go.. even if it's just for the salsa.

Looks a little iffy from the outside, but amazing food and friendly service.

Great rooftop with very tasty margaritas. We discovered that buying single margarita is better than a pitcher price wise. But the pitcher is pretty. Their salsas are good too. We also got to enjoy watching someone eat the big burrito and win. That was fun.

Staff is good, food is sub par and and extremely expensive.

Aside from the fact that there was bacon or some sort of pork in the refried beans, which was not noted in the menu, the food was really good.

Not too bad. Great views. Foods about average for Mexican. Wait staff seems to be working so much and not exactly happy to serve people. May just be when we went...but heard several griping about the hours and having to deal with people. This was on the rooftop. It seemed others were in better moods on the 2nd floor. We both had burritos and they were pretty typical.

Great food, had the beef and bean burrito and it may be the best I've ever had fajitas were also stellar, great portions. Staff is super friendly apart from the guy greating on the upstairs patio, pretty cocky. Margaritas were a bit on the sweet side.

Completely awful!!!! My family loves Mexican style food from tons of places and we ended up leaving way over half our food uneaten, leaving and asking for no carryout boxes! The saddest $90 I've ever spent! The chips and food even had a "bathroom cleaner" taste to it!!!

Food was good not amazing. However I tend to have higher than usual standards. Service was great. Place clean and easy to get a table even though they were busy. I liked the fried avocados.

Food was great and service was great! They accommodated our HUGE party (24) which was fantastic. The prices are a little high for Mexican but it s worth it. I highly recommend the nachos and quesadillas! The appetizers are large enough to be a full meal. We will definitely be back.

The guacamole was amazing! It's a good TexMex franchise place to eat.

Just stopped in for a beer and guacamole. The chips were inedible. It tastes just like the place smells. Like the oil is either rancid or the left soap in the fryer when they cleaned it. Server was sweet and apologetic. Music on the roof was pleasant and people were nice.

This is one of our favorite places to visit in Gatlinburg. The food is excellent and we've never had bad service. They give you free chips with 3 different salsas and they're all great. This is a must visit restaurant if you're in the area.

I would of rated it higher. The mechanical burro ride was broken. They had another one coming in, but I live in Texarkana, Texas and I was only in Gatlinburg for one night on vacation. Our server was new so she was still trying to learn everything. The positives on this place: the bathrooms were somewhat clean (cleaner than the ones at Reagan Terrace Mall), and the Nachos Supreme was really good. The Nachos Supreme was huge. I was eating on it with my brother, my parents, and my friend. I can eat it with my friends. I will return.

When the bartender is waiting on two tables, making margaritas, getting beers, tapping the keg while 4 other servers can barely handle 1 or 2 tables at best this place will not last. The patio is beautiful, but when it's not even 25% full and I have to wait over 20 minutes to be handed a menu, it's so not worth it. If the poor bartender wasn't our server, we would have walked out.....food just came an hour after arrival and they forgot our sons rice and put cheese all over his taco when we were very clear about his dairy allergy.

Waitress kept apologizing for forgetting us and then kept forgetting us?? We didn't get refills of our drinks and after our food arrived she never checked to make sure everything was accurate or if we needed anything else. Not sure what she was so preoccupied with as it was not very busy when we were there but it was a very disappointing trip.

Everything was sooo good. Started with 3 different salsas for chips. Dinners were delicious! Can't wait to go back.

Nice open seating with plenty of room. Balcony area overlooking the strip. Menu was plentiful and food was great. Prices are as expected in a tourist area but not out of the world. They serve chips and salsa for starters and we enjoyed.

Very popular, we had a waiting time of approximately 20 min. Good food, good margarita. It might take a while to get your food since it's very crowded most of the time

We love this place and visit each time we re in town. Fun decor and amazing food. We haven t ordered anything yet that we didn t love, plus the warm salsa they bring out is amazing, and they gave my daughter free tortillas with her order. The portions are huge and have always been fresh and cooked perfectly. My personal favorite are the chicken fajitas. Easily enough for two meals, which is great because just one meal there isn t enough! The hostesses have been consistently more friendly than our servers, but the servers always do their job so I can t really complain. Can t wait to visit again!

The food was absolutely fantastic. They brought out bowl after bowl of nachos for us. It took some time though before they came and got our drink order, then it took even longer to actually get our drinks. We ended up filling up on the nachos before our food actually arrived. Perhaps it was a off night for the waitress. I would still recommend the restaurant if you are looking for Mexican food while in Gatlinburg.

My wife and I were in Gatlinburg recently and had a chance to eat at Loco Burro. From the complimentary chips and salsa to desert it was hands down some of the best food we've ever had. Richard was a great server and very helpful with local info. After lunch I was ready to ride the burro, unfortunately the chain broke before I could get on. It was a great experience and we will be back, I still have to take that ride. I highly recommend Loco Borro when your in Gatlinburg.

The place looks amazing, very friendly staff and excellent decorations, but the food isn't good, we tried like 6 different plates and no one was good...very nice ambience though.

The staff was amazing in accepting of our puppy on the roof top. Will be back for sure. Thanks for everything Loco.

Wow, I love this place! The food was as wonderful as the staff (Tracy). I read one review that complained about the salsa being watery. I agree that it is, but DID YOU TASTE IT? Absolutely delicious!
