Loco Burro Fresh-Mex Cantina Reviews

Was recommended to eat here by a friend. When we arrived, we were told that we could be seated immediately inside or have a 35 minute wait for rooftop seating. We opted to sit inside. My girlfriend and I both decided to order a margarita to start while we looked over the menu. It took our waitress fifteen minutes to come back to take our order after already waiting ten minutes for our drinks. After placing our order, we waited over half an hour for the waitress to finally come back to our table with another table s order. She then realized her mistake and walked away without even speaking to us. A family of five who came in half an hour after we did were eating their meal while we still hadn t gotten our food. Another twenty minutes later and our food finally came out. It was at that point that we were informed she had forgotten to place our order, hence the hour wait for four enchiladas. She did seem sincerely apologetic. The food was okay, but portions are somewhat small for the price tag. Definitely not worth an hour wait and a $70 tab.

My husband and I were here in Gatlinburg the week of my birthday. We hung out at Loco Burro on the upstairs patio every night. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We come here every time we're in Gatlinburg.

Located right in the middle of Gatlinburg , TN this restaurant offers yummy Tex-Mex food. The place is usually crowded but they have a lot of seating options indoor , outdoor and roof top patio . We enjoyed their famous fajitas which were flavorful and grilled to perfection. The service was also relatively quick and decent.

The food was fair but the service was horrible drinks ran dry and some food that was ordered was never delivered.

I wanted tacos and fries and guess who had it? It was very loud however and the waiting line was very long for a table.

Favorite Mexican Restaurant by far! Wonderful food and drinks. Love the rooftop bar. View is breathtaking. Plan on getting Tipsy... You won't want to leave. Danny makes the best drinks.

Loco Burro is a wonderful place to eat and the food is great and service was suberb

When we got here we were told that it would be a 30 minute wait to sit on the rooftop patio. That's where we wanted to sit so we decided to hangout at the bar and have a few drinks while we waited. The bartender was not a pleasant person and really made us feel unwelcome. The drinks were poorly made (especially at the price we paid for them. One of the drink's strawberry was old and brown, a little dissapointing as we were the only ones at the bar) after over an hour of waiting the bartender went up to a server and asked why it was taking so long since they weren't even busy (with a tone as if he wanted us gone.) Within a few moments we were told the table on the rooftop was ready and we walked up there not knowing where to go as no one showed us the table, our waiter, Victor was awesome. He was cracking jokes and having a good time. The food was decent. I really wish it wasn't such a poor welcome with such a bad taste right out of the gate or this review would be completely different. Will definitely think twice before coming again.

Great roof top views at this wonderful mexi restaurant. The smoked brisket taco was so good. Shawn was an excellent and attentive waiter.

Good presentation of the food, but I came here to eat. Poor value for the price, but at least they threw the little plant on top to make me feel like I wasn't getting gypped . Didn't like the food or the salsa flavors. In its defense, It looks like the top floor is fun and lively at night, but that food though.

I dined here with a friend and we had a most enjoyable experience especially since it was so busy. Our waitress was amazing and so sweet. Chips were hot and crunchy, so yum. Our meal was great and the entertainment was pleasant!

We sat on the roof! We were kind of hungry from walking all day so we stepped in here to get a quick bite. It was certainly quick! The free chips were pretty thin so you didn't fill up on them and they gave you two salsas, one was cold and one was (temp) hot. The food we ordered was the appetizer sampler and everything was just so good!

Ok...this place is seriously amazing. I wasn't expecting to actually like their food. It just looked like a fun place to eat. They have a cool rooftop patio with bar up there.
We have been twice and both time we enjoyed the food. The second time we got the fajitas (I didn't think to take a picture until we got halfway through ). They were so good! Huge portion of steak, with peppers, onions and full cloves of garlic on the skillet. The cilantro sour cream is fantastic.
We are definitely going back again. It's safe to say this is our favorite place to eat in Gatlingburg.

Arrived around 9 p.m. Was informed kitchen was closed, so I cannot comment on the food. We sat at the bar, had margaritas. They were just okay.

When we arrived the hostess was not very welcoming towards us, but later on the waiter was more polite and had a better overall attitude. The food there was average, after the initial bad attitude the memory was ruined.

This place was recommended to us by a businessman in Knoxville. We loved it! The rice and beans were great and everyone thought the entrees were awesome. I read the previous reviews. The 1-stars probably think Taco Bell is a Mexican restaurant.
We will certainly go back and bring all those that visit.

Salsa is great. Work staff are weird and act odd. Prices are high.

Food was decent and the atmosphere was great but service was not great. Granted we were a big group of 11 but it seemed kind of bad even with so many people. May have just been the server though.

Cristian is the MAN, give that dude a raise. Food was spectacular and the service was phenomenal. What a boss though running the bar by himself on a busy day flawlessly. Everyone in this place keep doing what you re doing!

Atmosphere is touristy. I ordered Mahi Mahi tacos and a shrimp taco, I got exactly two shrimp on my taco, and while they tasted quite good the taco ended up being mostly tortilla. One Mahi Mahi taco was delicious and the other tasted quite fishy, meaning the fish was pretty old. Rice was rice and the beans were spicy and good. Overall a mixed experience. I probably won't come here again.

The nachos are not fresh and the food is not up to the prices...cheese sauce is bland. The top deck is the best thing it has if you just want to drink a beer or 3.

Pretty dismal experience. Unbelievably slow and terrible service despite the fact that restaurant was almost empty. Wait staff seemed unprofessional and under trained. Food was sub par and over priced. Would definitely not recommend this place.

Good service to go along with the great food. The Suprema is really good and enough for three people.

Nice Mexican option in Gatlinburg. It was too cold when we were there but they have a nice rooftop bar and cool vibe. Food is good

Delicious authentic food. Irene was friendly and attentive. Relatively busy, but food came fast. They have a nice, large rooftop patio where you can eat/drink, people watch, and enjoy the surrounding mountains and views.

This place was our second choice but the other place we wanted to sit at and eat was very rude so we left. That was the best choice we made, this place was great and the service was great. Roof top eating and the views were awesome. Food was really good, wife and I shared a large chicken and steak fajita meal. Would definitely recommend this place over the other place just down the road.

Beer was good but in a weird glass. Salsas were pretty terrible and chips tasted like stale tostitos. Rice was dry and tasteless. Meals could have been made by the average American in a home kitchen. Blarg :(

The service was the worst, went there twice and left both times without being able to buy so much as a drink, the place wasn't anywhere near busy enough to justify waiting 15 minutes with out seeing a wait staff person, the second time we went to leave the manager stopped us and promised if we stayed we'd get "great service ", we went to the roof top and waited 10 minutes and couldn't get a drink order in, as we watched the staff joke and stand around. They may have the "best fajitas ", but we never got the chance to buy any to find out. WORST SERVICE EVER

Service was decent, food and drinks were horrible. Don't bother!! Go across the street and get you a sausage w/ veggies at the arcade. It was ten times better...

The portions are generous, the elote (street corn) is mind blowing, and Robbie (sorry if that's misspelled) is an amazing server. The SO and I came there because we love the cuisine and we will be back for the prompt, attentive service and for the delicious food. We sadly do not live in the area but will be back when we visit again. The tequila selection is impressive, not only in the higher end bottles but overall. Sit on the roof if it's nice out.

Just rude! Horrible customer service Loco Burro/Kennedy Concepts. Escalator was broken and they had no sign indicating to not walk up escalator. There are safety and regulations in place when you remobe panels from escalators to work on them to proyect your customers safrety. Manager and repair guy were yelling at us because we walked up. Maybe you should post a sign yelling people the escalator is broken rather than yelling at people. I am sure Kennedy Concepts will love to know that you did not close off the escalators before talking off the motor panels. Or whomever the maintenance company is for the escalators in your building. They will be next on the list of notification.

The atmosphere was amazing. The roof top bar seemed great. The bartender was an absolute jerk. We finished our beer and left. Note to Management - you may want to train your employee's so they know that you shouldn't insult the customer's - Specifically they should not look at someone in the party - and say - you're old (as they sneer) Won't go back

This place had a great Atmosphere and the rooftop seating was cool. But after a 40 minute wait to get seated. They took an hour to get our food out to us. But it was good. Apparently the extra long wait get on other folks nerves too because people from a different table started fighting with each other while we were there lol guess they were hangry

Always visit here when we are in Gatlinburg and craving good Mexican food. Though alittle noisy, you expect this from a good restaurant. Love the decor
You also can dine in our outside on the rooftop patio. Service is great even though usually very busy. There is even a mechanical burro you can ride if you're feeling adventurous.

Wow what a restaurant my tummy fills up with their energy menu so many combos not a regular menu it is very different in style and taste..Their nachos ahhh too good and the sauces they have given was extraordinary flavours...Mouthwatering dishes and the presentation ..But the place is not good for small kids ..They have bar in it...So mostly suitable adults..

My husband and I went for dinner a few days ago. Our server was great, but the food was lacking in taste. It was our least favorite meal in a weeklong trip. Overpriced as well.

Fun place, food was good. It was so busy, we waited to be seated but then when seated we waited a long time to place our orders. Our little kids can't wait like an hour for food especially after waiting a while to be seated. The wait staff wasn't the friendliest, they were so busy and just seemed not happy.

Horrible experience. We waited 1 hour at lunch time and still didn't get out food. We asked repeatedly and they kept telling us every 15 mins it would come out. Not a good experience.

The service was slow, the prices were ridiculous, and the food was subpar.

Food was pretty good. The Jalopeno appetizer was freaking awesome but so hot haha. Not complaining, just be careful haha.

It was lunch. There was a 20 min wait. No biggie so we decided to get a drink at the bar. We set for 25 mins and no one asked if we wanted anything. When we were seates we set for another 15 mins whiles server ran all around us before bringing us water chips and Very watery salsa. The meal was ok at best. I wouldnt chose to go back .

Food was extremely tasty and fresh with generous portions. Expect a wait - we waited about 75 minutes on a Tuesday at 715pm eating at about 9 but the bartenders known what they're doing and make great drinks to explore while you wait. The skinny margarita (add jalapenos) and the bacardi original mojito were perfect, the baja fish tacos (2 tacos) were more than enough for my boyfriend on top of the table chips and house salsa we inhaled. My shrimp salad was also amazing and large. I had to take half home!

Great atmosphere and service. Prices are what you would expect in a tourist area. Food was good.
