I purchased my 2008 lexus is250 6speed 3.5 years ago and I have always had the check engine illuminated calling for the cat converter but only shows up during summer time , I asked the dearship if there was anything they could do like updating my pcm but my car was always kicked out until my emissions warranty had expired. Now they told me they need to replace them after its expired. Smh which tells me not buy another product . But I now I have to cut the cat converters and modify the pcm to bypass the emissions standards. If the dearship had looked into it I'm pretty sure my problem would have be resolved without any other modifications to my powertrain system. I love my vehicle but I was thinking of getting the 2019 IS but I don't want to go thru this in the future but it's time for a change to different company that would resolve these issues without jumping thru handles in the future .

My 2015 lexus RX350 has been the least reliable vehicle I have ever owned. It has 37000 kms and the transmission has had to be replaced TWICE already! The repairs were covered under warranty. The first time they had my car at the dealership for 37 days because there were no available transmissions in the country. The 2nd time it took 17 days. I got a lexus because I thought they were reliable and safe, but I ended up with a lemon. After the transmission went the 2nd time they should have replaced the vehicle but instead only covered a lease payment.
I'm glad this is just a lease and I can get rid of this piece of junk in 10 months. I wouldn't get another lexus. #Lemonlexus #BuyGerman
Getting worst and worst day by day they don t care about customers ..... they only care about privately own dealership ..... north west Lexus IS rip off .... my case manager from Lexus Canada Jennifer is worst ....stay away from her.....
Lexus Canada, not the dealers, does not care whatsoever about their clients, feedback or recommendations about their product and will give you the same 'scripted line' - Thank you Lexus, That will be my last time you will ever get a penny from me! I guess I was only a valued customer/client until I signed on the dotted line.....
A year ago my car got involved in an accident. The front of my car got smashed as a result of a full size track backed on my car on a traffic light. I called Lexus Canada and asked them for the advice where should I get my car fixed. They referred me to one of the Lexus authorized repair center where my car was fixed. A week before an accident I serviced my car at authorized Lexus dealer. No any outstanding issues have been reported. Recently I brought my car to Costco for an oil change and tire rotation. I was advised by the mechanic that all of my four tires were wasted as a result of the poor alignment after the car accident. I called the body shop where my car was fixed originally and asked if they provided an alignment at the time of the repair. An answer was negative. They failed to explain me why. They refused to cooperate and asked me to not call them anymore. I have got a couple of independent opinions from the different sources including Lexus authorized dealers on an alignment after front car damage. It is a must. I called Lexus Canada and advise them about a problem because of their authorized dealer body shop mechanic failed to provide an alignment for my car. First I spoke to the manager of the Lexus Canada guest service Kathleen. She told me that she is not a car mechanic and cannot help me I send an e-mail to the Lexus Canada CEO Robert Tsang and Toyota Canada CEO Larry Hutchinson asking for help. I have got a phone call from the manager of the office of the president of the Toyota-Lexus Canada by the name Sabrina. I was explained by her that Lexus Canada is not liable for any mistakes made by their Lexus authorized repair centers. She also advised me that now if I want to confirm that my all four tires wasted because of the lack of an alignment I need to do a diagnostic appointment and I have to pay $169.00. I was trying to place the request to talk to the President of Toyota-Lexus Canada Larry Hutchinson but I was advised that neither she nor Larry Hutchinson are the car mechanics and they do not now too much about the cars??? Isn t it sophisticated when the manager of the office of the president of Toyota and the president of the Toyota Canada do not know too much about the cars? I was left to absorb the payment for new tires and an alignment as the result of the unprofessional approach of the Lexus authorized dealer and the office of the CEO of Toyota- Lexus Canada. I am an essential worker and I have enough stress at work every day because of the Covid-19 situation. I do not appreciate additional frustrations I have got from the office of the president of the Toyota-Lexus Canada. I would not be buying any Lexus or Toyota after the way I was treated
After having owned other Luxury car brands, such as Audi and BMW, I thought of purchasing a Lexus after hearing about its reliability and quality. I had high hopes about the build quality of a Lexus. But it has been a disappointment for me after driving it for only 6 months. On 21st of December, 2017, I saw some warning lights flashing in my car ICS, Lane Departure Warning , etc. I thought it was probably a false positive. Next morning I saw the same signs and took the car to the service department of Lexus of Oakville. Upon diagnosis, they told me that that the front right lower control arm, the ball-joint and right front rim needs to be replaced along with wheel alignment. The total cost of this repair was estimated to be about $1688. To my surprise, they told me that the issue wasn t covered under warranty. I didn t hit any object to have caused these issues.
I am astonished to know that Lexus has such poor quality parts which fail on normal roads even when the vehicle is brand new. I bought an expensive vehicle, because I expected some level of quality , safety and reliability from Lexus. I never had these issues with my BMW or Audi or even a Honda and Mazda. Why would someone spend on a new and expensive car like Lexus, if the parts have such a poor quality and are not even covered under warranty? To my further research, most of these parts (front lower control arm) are the same as the ones used for a much cheaper Toyota Highlander or Venza but only the brand stamp Lexus makes them way more expensive. Based on my negative experience, I am sad to believe that Lexus RX 350 is not a safe vehicle if it is so delicate that even the normal conditions can cause such a huge damage. I even got the car checked by an independent mechanic and I was told that the wheel was not bent or anything. After changing the initial parts, they told me that the wheel hub needs to be changed as well, bringing the total cost of repair close to $2500. This is clearly a quality issue caused by defective parts which should have been changed under warranty. Lexus denied my claim and I had to pay out my pocket. I have seen many other complaints on Better Business Bureau against Toyota/Lexus as they find ways to deny warranty claims. If the car is showing these signs, within 6 months of use, I don t know what would happen in the later of years of ownership. A piece on advise to everyone, don't buy a Lexus, if you a expect a solid and quality car. It is just another Toyota wrapped in Satin with 90 percent of Toyota's parts.
Dealership refused to admit to a mistake, basically saying the customer is lying. So now customer is liable to pay for repairs and says that customer should be thankful Lexus Canada is paying a portion of problem, which is a manufacture defect as told directly to me by Lexus authorized mechanic. But, if the vehicle wasn't poorly put together and made to begin with, this problem wouldn't have been existed...which mean there wouldn't be repair costs...neither for Lexus Canada or the customer would've had to pay. What on earth..?? What games are you playing Lexus....
The Brand took a 360, they are now fun to drive and the edgy designs are risky but work well with the smaller models. Reliability is as good as always. Their interiors have improved.
Does RX 350 2017 sports model come with some sort of tracker? My car has been stolen through my driveway and am surprised by the inability of Lexus not to have deterrent or software upgradings in such expensive cars
I recently purchased a Lexus at Lexus of Oakville. My Lexus representative is Marie An. Marie exudes warmth, professionalism and confidence. She guided me through the process and answered any and all my questions even while on vacation. Marie provided excellent service by understanding my needs and my budget. I will be recommending her to everyone I know. After my purchased, she followed up to ensure that I was comfortable. Thank you Marie for a wonderful experience at Lexus of Oakville
Unfortunately ,I leased a Lexus ES 350 last November , my experience in buying the car was great but few months into the lease my car started vibrating on high speeds , I was told by the maintenance department that the rotors are warped , I was shocked that this happened at a mileage of only 16K!! I was even more concerned that the brake pads would be affected because of the defected rotors . I was advised that the parts are on back order and that they will contact me once it becomes available -- this happened in July and here I am in November & the defected parts are still not replaced . Likewise in the summer , I got rear ended in a multi vehicle accident and I had to wait for 2.5 months for the parts to become available - I suffered lots of pressure from the insurance company to terminate my rental because my car was taking too long in repair. At the peak of my frustration , I decided to email Lexus Canada to inform them of my situation , at their end they are undergoing "a planned systems transformation" and nothing can be done other than wait for the parts to become available but as far as I am concerned , this is unacceptable and unprofessional, it clearly shows that Lexus doesn't have a solid service plan, the company's interest is to get their cars out and leave people stuck when they need service. Lexus failed to provide quality service which left me uncertain; doubtful and deemed them not trustworthy to continue with them. Warped rotors & defected brake pads is a huge safety concern for me & my family , but Lexus has little regard for customers' safety . The lack of responsibility and integrity of Lexus towards its customers needs to be addressed & Lexus needs to step up to its commitment to serve its clients rather than solicit clients money for services not provided. It should not take 5 months to get vital parts replaced when they are defected & Lexus is not supposed to expect customers to wait for that long. Most recently , an alert appeared on the dashboard that oil change is due , I called the service department to book an appointment , the lady told me that must be a false reminder and the technician must have mistakenly set the alarm reminder to go off too soon !! I really didn't know what to say at this point . I leased a car from Lexus & prepaid all the required service for the lease term and my expectations were much higher than this --- completely lost trust in Lexus.
Luiza Fon Goldring thank you so much for taking the time to go over my new 2017 RX 350 Lexus, you were very patient and made sure I left understanding everything about the vehicle Great Job! Michael Tauro - thank you for helping me purchase my new Lexus, I appreciated you not being pushy in getting the sales completed. It was a pleasure dealing with you Michael ! Thank you Vahid Babolsalam for all your help completing the process.
Disappointed at the excuses made not to change or machine my RX350 rotors under goodwill. The rotors have warped after just 2 years and 22,000 km and is the third problem I have had with this car. As I have my cars serviced by my mechanic of 10 years at a well-established independent Oakville garage, Lexus are of the view he didn't do it correctly or didn't perform the brake service correctly and that is why the rotors warped. Not the recent hot weather and poor quality steel. I did not use Lexus as their quote was for $1,000 (tax incl) for a Service 3 (essentially a car inspection, brake flush and oil change). The independent garage was $500 (tax incl) for essentially the same service.
Lexus Canada requires mechanics "Remove brake calipers and/or brake drums. Inspect and measure brake rotors, drums, pads and shoes". Notably, Lexus USA, which includes Buffalo (because I asked them), requires only "visually Inspect Brake Pads, Calipers and Rotors" i.e. if the mechanic is satisfied with a visual inspection, no further action is necessary.
Personally, I think Lexus are reaching. Prospective owners should be aware that overpriced maintenance service will be required to maintain the warranty. As regards the RX350, I believe Lexus isn't the quality it used to be. My RX350 went in twice for a jammed driver door and again for a laggy transmission, both of which are common factory faults.
I took delivery of my 2020 Lexus ES300 Hybrid on June 20 2020 at Lexus of Windsor.I am extremely pleased with the outstanding service provided to me by the great team at Lexus of Windsor. James, Mustapha, Tekle and Karen provided exemplary support throughout the purchase process and the delivery my car. It is very evident that they are all very passionate about working at Lexus of Windsor. They sell the best car brand in the world and they make sure that their customers are very happy with their service from the time of the purchase of the Lexus until the delivery of the car. Tekle patiently explained to me the many incredibly advanced technology features of my new Lexus Hybrid. In fact, I was so pleased with Lexus of Windsor, that I ordered a new Hybrid for my daughter on the same day!!!
I bought a Lexus Certified Pre-Owned vehicle that was misrepresented by a Lexus dealer. Lexus of Canada would not stand behind their LCPO program. The dealer would not talk to me, and Lexus of Canada says there is nothing they can do. The LCPO program is a National program that is OWNED by Lexus of Canada, not the dealerships.
Lexus of Canada must stand behind THEIR program just as they would a new car. There is no point in paying the premium for a LCPO vehicle. Just purchase a used car somewhere else as in the end the LCPO status is worthless.
The car I bought was involved in a collision despite a clean CARFAX and the LCPO checklist that explicitly checks for collisions damage on at least FOUR (4) different checklist items. There were 9 other checklist items that were pencil whipped such the car having warped rotors, no owner's manuals, dirty cabin air filter, HVAC system full of debris, the vehicle was previously a smoker's car and stinks, dog hair comes out the the ventilated seats, and a dead mouse was found under the engine cover and chewed the wiring harness, there was collision damage that was discovered by another Toyota dealer during its first oil change..
Don't trust the LCPO program. The dealers can scam you and Lexus of Canada will not support you. Any peace of mind you think you might be getting from LCPO is severely misplaced.
I have owned five Lexus cars in the last fifteen years. The latest car, an IS250, I bought used -- Lexus certified -- and bought the extended 200K warranty to go with it. Since buying the car, I have had nothing but trouble. It started with the rear differential blowing up. That fortunately was covered otherwise it would have cost $4,000. Then the radio went. I was told it wasn t covered even though the warranty said all electrical was covered. When I asked them to explain that they couldn't. Then, last month, my fuel door broke. Was that covered, I asked? Of course not. So there goes another $500. After I posted this review, Lexus Canada reached out to me and made it right. And I want to be clear that my local dealership has been excellent. They have lobbied Lexus repeatedly on my behalf. But when I bought a Lexus, I simply didn t expect to have these kinds of issues in the first place.
Lexus Canada and their Don Valley dealer made me so upset and disappointed, although I am always their loyal customer and purchasing their hybrid series since 12 years ago. I recently purchases one more brand new 2020 vehicle from them namely UX250H and discover annoying and strange sound has been creating when we shifted to reverse gear (even the car is not in movement), one of the reasons why I bought hybrid is because of their quiet feature, this annoying sound (up to 85 dBA) which shocked me a lot. I have complained to Don Valley Lexus, they said that is a special feature and can not do anything about it (sales consultant never mentioned to us about this so-called special feature during the course of purchasing), Lexus Canada promised to follow up since our complain that we filed to them since one month ago, and now all of them kept silence and no follow up has been done up to present, although I sent them numerous e-mails asking for the follow up! Except writing this review to let consumers know, what else I can do?!
I am extremely disappointed in the quality of Lexus. maybe I had too high an expectation, maybe it was just a perception i had of hearing other people talking about Toyota and it's quality. Or it could simply be that I got a LEMON, but it doesn't change the level of my disappointment in the low quality of the 2017 IS300 I have. I have a business and lease new cars every 3-4 years. so this is not my first car, or my first new car. but it is definitely the first time I have had to service the breaks on a car with 29,500 km mileage on it!!! Really? on a $58,000 car? I haven't had to do this on cars half this price or even higher price. my last car was a 5 series BMW and i returned the car with 65,000 km mileage and no break work!!! what also burns me is that the dealer called and said: oh the breaks have rust on them, and since this is a lease you don't have to do it!!! really? i put my family in this car and you are telling me I dont have to do it?!!! i guess they were affraid i will scream when they tell me it will be over $200 for this service. and to make matters worse, i have already pre paid all my services!!! so I guess on top of the $1,800 I paid, now I have to pay for driving a low quality LEMON!!! oh WOW!!! I had decided to buy this car after the lease for my daughter to drive, since she is going to university, but NEVER, EVER, will i buy this car or lease another Lexus!!! what a disappointment, if there was a 1/2 star, i would have applied here. now all i want is for the lease to be over so i can dump this POS at the dealership and walk away for good!!! I am also very sorry i took my brother to lease a Lexus, or maybe he will have better luck and won't get a LEMON!!!!
When you hear the brand Lexus, words like Luxury, exceptional customer service and world-class experience come to mind. Unfortunately, I have not felt any of this in my experience over the last 5 or 6 months. I work hard for my money, and if I am paying $750+ a month for a vehicle, I expect certain things. I could have paid $200 and drive a KIA, but I decided to purchase a Lexus, which I have started to regret. Not because of the vehicle, but because of the experience. I always encouraged my friends and family to get a Lexus when they were looking for a new car. I pushed many to purchase one, but I no longer will be acting as an advocate for the brand. I will be discouraging everyone from purchasing a Lexus moving forward. I am very disappointed with my experience and I will be sharing it with anyone that is willing to listen.
Normally I do not write reviews. But my experience with 2016 Lexus RX 350 was so Bad that made me write this.
I have been owning Lexus RX350 since 2011. My previous vehicle was a GEM. But the one I bought as a pre-owned CERTIFIED 2016 RX 350 F Sport from Richmond Hill Lexus back in May 2018 was a LEMON . Ever since I bought my vehicle, it always had a major oil leak three times in a row. i.e. within a span of 18 months which is unbelievable !!
First major oil leak was found out in June of 2018 (within a month of my purchase), followed by the second one in May 2019 and third one in Dec 2019. All together my vehicle was in the repair shop for more than a month during these three repairs. My drive way had oil stain due to this engine leak which made me re-do my driveway. No compensation received for this !! Even though the oil leak was fixed every time by the dealer, I did not expect such a poor quality and or poor workmanship. Basically, I was sold a LEMON . Picture of oil leak (proof !!) provided as well . It created a lot of inconvenience for me as I had to drive very far distance to go to Richmond Hill Dealer to fix my vehicle issue as supposed to Erin Park Lexus in Mississauga which I normally go for service. The first major oil leak happened when my vehicle was less than 80,000 Kms and 4 Years .i.e. I mean the oil leak happened within the Warranty Period which continued to happen 2 more times.
Every time, I had to call Lexus Canada to get them involved. When it happened the third time and I contacted Jennifer from Lexus Canada, I was told they cannot do anything more than fixing my vehicle (example: extended warranty or some sort of compensation) . i.e. Inspite of the same engine oil leak three times within 18 months. The attitude of Lexus Canada Customer Service (in particular Jenifer) was very Bad !!
I hope Lexus Canada looks into my concerns seriously to resolve amicably. Based onto the feedback I receive from Lexus Canada, I will proceed with my next course of action !!
Lexus Finance is the one of the worse !! I purchased a Lexus recently two months ago and was willing to pay in cash but adviser told me why in cash when there is zero finance for three years, so make sense and I have done it. But "Toyota Credit Canada " keep checking credit score of me and my wife every month !!!! Unbelievable . This hit and reduced our Credit score of each of us 40-50 point . Unacceptable . every month checking score credit of someone with 870-880 score credit . I am very unhappy and if I know I never go to Lexus. If anyone wants to go there be careful as you may lose your score credit that you built for years in few months .
Got a flat tyre. This is how they left my car. #Lexus October 28- got a call from Lexus Customer Service. Since the tyre would not fit properly as the replacement donut tyre is small. They did the best they could and it seems to be ok. WOW. Seriously. This is done and no further escalation. #lexuscanada Disappointed and disappointed
I purchased Lexus NX last year brand NEW!!! (Big mistake after having same experience with Toyota), almost in a year AC unit stopped working. I had several times back and forth to the dealership for service and still nothing... I can't wait to get rid of this car.
Anyone reading this review, trust me and save yourself peace of mind and money and don't buy Toyota or Lexus, I have evidence for all I said above
Love the cars, love the service. Especially the afternoon/night time hours for service. The service manager Ali is amazing and very knowledgeable. It's a pleasure dealing with him.
