The staff who checked us in was very rude and impatient. It was suppose to be a relaxing experience but he really dampen the mood. It also didn't help that my friend's locker ran out of batteries so she couldn't get her locker unlocked. Even when we called a staff over to help, it couldn't be fixed. We were told to go up to find another wrist band to put the stuff in. We spent a good 30 minutes in the changing room dealing with this issue.

The spa itself was ok. We went around 5pm on a Saturday so it was busy (to a point where it was overwhelming) I think next time I would go super early or super late just to have a calmer atmosphere.

The food in the restaurant was really not appetizing. I understand why it is expensive (because you are paying for the convenience) but the food was truly awful.

This is an amazing location.. Clean environment staff is courteous. Its only a little too hush hush ... We can't even whisper sometime.. But they have specific area for talking which is ok ... To many spot close for renovation right now

Incredible location. Great food, amazing views and very nice staff. I had a swedish massage that I enjoyed very much. The only downside is the insane number of people when you are looking to relax but that could be due to the summer vacations.

Booked well in advanced massages. Nordik staff screwed up the booking and when we complained we where told that they would address and fix the situation during the time we where there. They wanted to review the booking phone conversation. At the end of the day, we addressed the situation again with the duty manager who made us wait an additional 20 minutes for nothing and sent us on our way saying they would contact us after leaving our contact info. Well what a surprise, we are a month passed and we still have not received any call back following 3 left messages to "Guest Service Manager" Florian. What a Joke... Thanks for wasting my time and 600$ for the day Nordik... I will never book a massage there again.

Amazing Day of Relaxation and rejuvenation! We were very impressed by the staff. We were delayed due to an accident on 401. We called when we knew we couldn't make our appointments. Cami was able to accommodate a later appointment in the day. We truly appreciated this gesture!

Went there to buy a gift certificate. It took an hour and a half. But then again it was a Saturday. A very popular place. Will have to go and experience this place. But not on a weekend

Very disappointing experience. Arrived on the scene at 10:00 am, waiting two hours to be able to pay for our access to the bath, very ordinary let's see. this site has a capacity of 1200 people but more robes when we arrived very ordinary say.
The supervision of people arriving for a treatment should do this apart from those who want to pay for access to the bath only. Everything is all wrong when people arrive, no control to direct people to the agents delivers to the counter, That even the manager who says he has control has not really SERIOUS ....... And what to say SILENCE in the baths ouffff is this supposed to be relaxing, and relaxing atmosphere ??? I do not recommend this place at all because there is really a lack of respect for the customers who pay the big price. Long live the Mathers experience, Scandinavian Tremblant, the source, and the Finnish. Only outstanding service

Booking a massage is almost impossible online using their form, and while they give their phone number for contact they do not answer the phone or seem to return calls. The online form constantly shows every date in future blocked, even with confirmed availability.

Formerly my favorite spa due to its size, these beautiful scenery, its multitude of different attractions and its tranquility. My last visit was a total fiasco, we would have thought it was in an anthill and not only was it overcrowded, but everywhere it spoke loudly in every space in the saunas (cold because of open doors 50% of the time) or in the relaxation areas. I did not see anyone circulating to say to lower the tone. In short I realized that I would not relax so I went to have a few drinks. A good party spa. For relaxation go on a rainy Tuesday because their access limit is nonexistent.

Please go to Nordik Spa!!! Everyone must get this experience at least once in their lives. The saunas, the pools and the hot tubs are amazing. It s such a beautiful, romantic, relaxing outdoor space. We ordered the cheese platter and bruschetta for our dinner and it was heavenly. I also had a massage with an RMT (which you must call and book in advance). He was very skilled and confident in his abilities. He was able to measure the level of pressure I needed and was able to actually relieve the muscle pain I had been having for months. I can t wait till my next visit.

The Sauna's/pool combinations are nice and the environment is very relaxing. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my massage. Hands were very rough and needed more oil. Would return but not for massage.

We have been to a couple of spas on the Quebec side but I must say this one is the best. Very helpful and friendly staff. They should have more promotions and deals special occasions but I guess being that they're always busy they don't really need to I will continue going there.

A beautiful place to spend a day and get away from it all. The buildings and surroundings are gorgeous. While it can be busy, try going on a Monday morning instead of a Friday if you're looking for more peace and quiet. The food is wonderful.

Only ten minutes from the city, you feel completely in Nature. The site is magnificent and vast. I really liked the 3 sections each with a different atmosphere, there is something to please everyone! It's worth the detour!!

I love coming to Le Nordik for a little vacation without having to go far from home. This place is so beautiful and relaxing, it's just like being on a resort. I love the new taco shack and they also have a grilled cheese and beer area. With so many pools and saunas of various temperatures, there's something for everyone. There's some yoga gear on site as well so you can do some exercise and roll out your muscles. There's also a really cool shower area with exfoliating salts to treat your skin. The restaurants are excellent and provide all kinds of options for people with dietary restrictions. You can take your drinks to the pools in plastic cups which is awesome. I don't think there's anything more relaxing in Ottawa than sipping on a cider in the infinity pool while overlooking the beautiful countryside. It's expensive but so worthwhile!

Okay first off the nordik spa is absolutely amazing. I've been here before with my friends and I had a blast then I brought my husband back for a romantic getaway we've just gotten married this past year and we wanted something that was perfect for a couple to do on a cold weekend. Right from the get-go make sure you get there between the hours of 9 to 10 or you may not be able to get in right away. I had known this because I called in advance and asked how we will be able to secure a spot. If you do want to get a massage as well as the thermal experience be sure to book this far in advance as well there are no spots left for us and unfortunately but we still had an awesome time with a thermal experience.

Be sure to bring your own flip flops, robe and water bottle if you see fit. They do not provide these free of charge. You have to purchase flip flops for $10 and the robe is a $25 fee just to rent it. We didn't notice at first so we had to purchase some flip flops from the Boutique that they had there thank God. The last thing you want to do just be walking around barefoot in the snow and ice and salt. It can get really slippery I would not suggest the nordik for anyone who's not able to walk up several flights of stairs as well as look where they're going. It's a beautiful place but it can be a little treacherous if you're not physically fit. Be sure to hold the railings tight when getting in and out of the pools I saw a few people tripping. They do I sit pretty well but still since people are getting in and out of the tubs the salt tends to get diluted. However it wasn't a problem for us we are pretty careful.

We had a wonderful experience with dancers during the aufguss traditional sauna experience. This experience involved the infusion of essential oils while dancers waved towels around and immersed us with sents. It was a wonderful social experience and very relaxing.

The only downfall to our experiences at the aromatic saunas were not up and running. However the eucalyptus and orange rooms were functional so we went in there as well. I would just like to know that those rooms can get really slippery and you can't really see where you're going so be extra careful because it is a highly steam room.

The kalla? Room is an extra charge it is a floating salt bathroom. We didn't do it this time but I certainly want to try it the next time I go. I've heard really good things about it but can't comment on it myself.

The clothes were heated perfectly and made us comfortable and even -20 weather. It's best to go when it's really cold because you feel the experience much more.

The highlights of our spot experience where the meditation rooms & the infinity pool. The meditation room was pitch black at night except for the fire which was really calming. It also had its own Musical soundtrack which really helped you reflect. Although I wish people were a little more quiet they do say silence during these rooms.

The infinity stop pool overlooks the Gatineau and it's absolutely stunning. At night time the night crowd comes out and it becomes a really romantic and fun experience. The pool steam is illuminated by the lights and it almost feels like you're in the middle of the ocean.

Overall we absolutely love nordik Spa my hubby drove 5 hours into Ottawa and he said it was totally worth the drive just to experience it! :) Thank you to all the wonderful staff who were very friendly and accommodating. They even came around with free tea. It was really nice especially since it was a super cold day that we went! If you are feeling generally run down sick or exhausted the spa is a perfect way to reignite yourself. A wonderful way to start our new year together :-)

Spent the day here and had a wonderful relaxing time. The food was excellent too. This place keeps getting better! My only complaint would be the other guests that don't honour the Silence areas.

the massage was wonderful, then we went to the baths, we did happen to get mixed up in directions when we tried to ask an employee, he held up a sign with SILENCE written on it, he would only give me direction after he brought us to the talking part, he then followed my friends and I around with the SILENCE for most of our stay, we were not loud nor were we bothering anyone as it was raining for our stay there wasn't a lot of people. he did seem to bother other people as well.
they did have a problem with my electronic wrist band and it took them 20min to fix the problem, the inconvenience of my locker not working and having to go back twice for them to fix it while my friends had to wait. ON a good note the restaurant food was fantastic, the baths and saunas were as well, to bad for the other part otherwise my experience wood be Excellent.

I didnt get any food or drinks so i cant comment on that but the thermal experience was definetly a great time. The wet sauna beside the cold pool is an amazing combination would have been happy with just those 2 things. I thought it was more of a secluded place but it felt like i was at a resort more then a spa. Lots of awsome extras if you manage to find them like the bungee net to just lay over a river, or a personal 2 person sauna ( always someone there though unless ur willing to wait ) definetly going back but just for the thermal experience. Highly recommend

We've been here many times, but on this occasion I was disappointed that the infinity pool was shut down because of construction, and the only other pool that was not overfilled with people was in the silence area, but there was construction going on above and beside that pool as well. We spent the day listening to drills, saws, hammers, etc, yet, the staff was ever present asking people to be silent, even when they'd have to talk louder than the distractions. To not offer a discount of some sort was off-putting. I gather they also remove some features during the with her months, so maybe they can offer a reduced price to correspond to the services available throughout the year.

I like Le Nordik - it's clean, quite spacious, and offers a wide variety of activities. The food is good. The service is a little spotty. We waited a while to be served in the new lounge and eventually gave up.

Overall, I find a day there refreshing and fun. However, when I was recently there, the staff were not doing nearly enough to enforce the rules about silence. There were groups of women chatting all over the place, in the pools, and once even in the sauna. I had to ask them to be quiet, then ask them to leave because they were giggling so much. This is really disruptive. For the price paid, I expect the staff to better enforce the rules, so that well-behaved guests can enjoy the tranquility without having to police the policies themselves.

Great time in the spa. Impossible to get anyone to answer the phone when calling. No return of emails. Mistake on an insurance receipt can not seem to get fixed. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in the inexistent customer service.

Always a relaxing experience, we generally manage to go when it is not full which makes the experience even better. We went on a Sunday night after dinner and enjoyed it for 3 h and managed to be alone in most pools and saunas. It's a must in the Nation's capital region.

Worst spa experience possible. Already, I price is very high, the spaces are well equipped but it lacks areas of relaxation. They accept too many guests and do not do any surveillance, which makes people talk very loud everywhere, even in the relaxation areas and saunas, I thought myself more in a bar than in a spa. They give no rules or advice, I even saw a pregnant woman of nearly 6 months doing the Nordic circuit!
It's very noisy, and poorly thought out! The soundproofing is non-existent, and there is no comfortable place. I stayed 2 hours and came out much more stressed than entering for $ 85.

I recommend this spa to anyone wishing to relax, for cons if you want to have a drink with friends in a spa you will be happy. A place to go with friends, to socialize.

Amazing experience. I have been atleast 4 times and left happy and satisfied every visit. Today I hurt cut my finger open and somehow lost my phone in a misplaced housecoat. Atleast 4 employees helped me in my search and eventually located my phone for me. Must have been lost for only an hour because the team was extremely accommodating and understanding. Extremely pleased with this impeccable service! Thank you to all who helped me find it!

This is my favorite place. A little pricey especially since the rental of their bath robes are now mandatory but well worth it. Due to covid, you are not allowed to bring your own bathrobe and the water fountains aren't available but they do provide you with free water bottles at almost every sauna. One of the Vaporo saunas was closed due to renovations and the small sauna (2 seater) is closed due to distancing issues but all of the other saunas were up and functional. I also don't think they're doing the sauna ritual (I can never remember the name of the ritual) but they did do a fragrance infusion in the Finland sauna (they put a couple balls of snow/ice infused with grapefruit fragrance). I just love going here. Monday-thursday I believe prices are a little cheaper and the place is a little less busy but they do regulate the total amount of people in the spa so I really didn't find it that crowded. The infinity pool is always a hit but also always very busy. I would definitely recommend!

Nice experience...the location is awesome. The only thing I didnt like was the service at the front desk with a lady called Ashley, she lacks of customer service. Please have your staff not discriminating for having English speaking customers.

Food and banya experience - excellent. Pools were great until about 4:00pm when they were no longer "whispering". Washrooms could be cleaner. Staff friendliness on the dront desk was hit and miss.
Assignment of lockers was not spread out enough. Lots of empty lockers but new guests were squished into one small area while changing due to method lockers were assigned.

I was verbally abused by a woman in the salt water pool who continued to be aggressive. I approached staff for help who called security and assured me the woman would be removed from the premises. When I continued to see the woman walk around, I approached a security staff and asked why... the answer I received was that she knows a supervisor and although they received multiple complaints, they were unable to get her to leave ! So unfortunate that a place like nordik, is influenced and ran by thugs who use the we know whoever to get away with being racist!

Difficult to really relax there during the holiday season. Too many people not following spa etiquette. Lots of talking in areas that are supposed to be quiet and quite a few people using their cell phones and taking pictures and videos.

We loved it! They have different types of sauna, thermal circuit, area to rest and relax, exfoliating salts, endless pool, in short, they must take a full day to take advantage of everything. Don't miss the ritual with ice and aromatherapy.

This place used to be VERY good but it's gotten so BAD I would not recommend this place to nobody. It is very crowded to the point that no hot water is available in the shower rooms, the restaurant service is slow and it takes forever to get back to relaxing! When I asked about the cold showers, I was told sorry, we're busy and out of hot water! I also got my dry bathrobe taken from the racks, TWICE! There are other spas in the region worth visiting.

My first time at Nordik and having a massage! We went on January 28th for the snowshoe hike and spa under the stars experience. Our guide Michelle was phenomenal. She was fun and knowledgeable because she spoke about how animals live and thrive during Winter at Gatineau park. We had initially thought that it'd just be a hike around the woods, but to our surprise it was also educational and we were really excited. After the hike, we drove to Nordik Spa for the thermal experience.

The following day we went back to Nordik Spa for the vivifying treatment. I was partnered with Rachel who was amazing! She took into consideration that I mentioned having tension in my upper back from the form I filled out and she spent time targetting that location. I really enjoyed my very first massage and I'd recommend Rachel!

The place itself is very nice. The pools are well kept, and it is an enjoyable experience. This experience is somewhat ruined though by the terrible customer service Nordic has. The staff on sight are very unhelpful with dealing with any issues and don t give alternatives. If you have a question and want to call in to find an answer- don t bother! You will be on hold for an extended period of time with no one answering the phone to just say that it s busy, or give an estimate or anything. I was on hold for 30 minutes and then just gave up. Having poor customer service ruins the relaxing atmosphere as it puts you in a negative mindset.

From the moment we arrived, it was not a serene, relaxing experience. We were greeted (if you can describe "yes?" as such) at the entrance from the parking lot, where the tablet the staff member was using could not connect to find our reservation. While they attempted to retrieve it, we were standing in the rain. Once inside, we checked in, received our bracelets, and proceeded (downstairs, upstairs, and downstairs again) to the locker room. Not only were our lockers in the entry doorway (I guess last patrons to arrive?), two of them didn't work with the bracelets. Back to reception: upstairs, downstairs, upstairs to fix the problem. Back to the locker room, up and down all the stairs again (we went to relax, no go to the gym).
Once outside, it was so busy and so packed with patrons, there were hardly any spots to use the pools and saunas. We actually had to wait for others to leave their spots (a chilly sport in October) . In the corridor where the locker rooms are situated, there were so many people it was extremely congested and towels were difficult to come by.
After about an hour, my visitor from Alberta had enough and suggested we leave, which we did. It was one very expensive and exasperating hour. No relaxation to be had that day Oct 22.
We will not go back.

My partner and I had a couples massage here, the experience was lovely, the only thing was - and this may have been a communication issue BC I don't speak French :( so my apologies if this was due to my not misunderstanding - when I got up to the waiting area before our massage, we weren't told anything, we saw the page that we assumed needed to be filled prior to our massage but once we filled it out we just kind of sat there awkwardly not sure if we needed to give our page to someone specific or just wait quietly for someone to come get us so that's was a bit anxiety inducing. After about 15 mins our MT's called our names and asked for our pages and it was bliss there after. Didn't ruin the experience at all but definitely wish I had been more informed for my first time :) will definitely be back!

If you're nordic or have experienced the nordic sa...

If you're nordic or have experienced the nordic sauna culture in nordics, then prepare to be disappointed.
Our relaxing two year anniversary started with 20min queue at the Nordik spa and the lobby was cramped with people and we were asked to queue in pairs to make the queue smaller so more people could be cramped into the room. This was far from relaxing as was the rest of the day.
The spa area was full of people. It's hard to relaxe when there's so many people around you. The saunas where disapointing. I think the spa had mixed up russian sauna and swedish sauna. Finnish sauna was far from Finnish and the show that was held in the sauna every hour has nothing to do with Finnish culture. You might wonder why I feel so passionate about this? It's because I'm Finnish and I love sauna. I would hapily give more stars and pay the over price if the spa had even one proper sauna.
What's the problem with the saunas? All the saunas are more or less the same. Too cold and dry. The Finnish sauna was ruined with lights, big windows, music, low temperature and no water to put on the stones. If anyone ever been in sauna in Finland, we put water on the stones that greatest this nice moist air. On top of that, the sauna was missing little window to be able to open it and get fresh air (all the saunas did miss this important feature). Saunas are usually quite dark and have small windows as traditionally we would be naked but the spa could still have created the dark feel of the sauna by taking one of the big windows down. Don't get me even started with the hourly show. It has absolutely nothing to do with Finnish sauna culture and I would hope this was explained to the people who go there. On top of that we would never blast with towels or anything hot air to people's skin as it can cause a burn.
Steam sauna you could smell little bit eucalyptus and sweat. So not so pleasant to sit there either. Aroma sauna was dry and cold and had no aroma. Russian sauna was more like swedish sauna (colder temperature and dry). Best out of the saunas was Earth sauna.
Why the 1 star?
The place was too crowded.
The company is making money saying it provides nordic experiences but it couldn't be further from the truth. This isn't nordic and personally I feel offended how Finnish sauna was presented. It didn't respect the values and habbits of the Finnish sauna culture.
I would recommend the company regulate how many people there are in the spa area and study what the nordic sauna culture is about and what's important.
The one star is to the 20 degree pool that was situated next to Finlandia sauna. At least that was smartly located.

Lots of billing errors, receptionist can understandably, I'm not talking about an error of a few dollars but twice the price I was given over the phone when I made my reservation. Although the site is great and the massage therapists do an excellent job, I did not fully enjoy my visit due to this error. The manager didn't even try to find a solution to fix their mistake. Rather disappointing for such a big and famous spa.

For the most part, I love Le Nordic and the experience of the waters. However, the staff can either be fantastic or down right rude. This past weekend after having a lovely experience at the waters and trying to get the balance returned from our bracelets I had a terrible customer service experience at the cash.

Everyone has bad days but seriously her behaviour was unnecessary. We waited 15-20mins only to have a second cashier take another client ahead of us who had just walked up. It s Christmas time... it s busy... but it wasn t a positive experience. When the customer was done, the second cashier walked off and I said to the cashier that we had been waiting for some time. The customer who had budded us looked at me because he didn t realize and genuinely apologized.

The customer service rep. who was now serving me said well... I didn t do anything wrong to which I agreed with her but we had been waiting longer. I said it was your colleague to which she said she was doing nothing wrong and she was just trying to help the customer then proceeded to have even more attitude, look at me with disgust and handed my balance back to me. It was inappropriate. I ve worked in retail. Admittedly I was frustrated and raised my voice and said last I checked I was a customer too but can you blame me. The entire situation could have been resolved by a simple apology and acknowledgement from the customer service rep. Simple.

It s the first time I ve had a bad experience like that but I ve had friends who have had similar issues with the customer service experience at Le Nordic.

It s a beautiful place and on the whole everyone is professional but the customer service experience at the boutique needs to be improved.

This is a beautiful spa, but the massage I had here was AWFUL. If you re looking for a good massage, go elsewhere - this is not the Nordik s area of expertise. Otherwise, I ve always found it pleasant and clean and a nice place to go with friends.

I absolutely love the services and facilities at le Nordik. My only concerns are that it is regularly too busy, and using all the facilities you want is challenging. As well, the bathrooms/changing areas need a major overhaul.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Gabrielle who is the Manager in charge at Nordic Spa Call Center. She was very friendly and amazing to deal with over the phone. Nordic Spa is very lucky to have such a hard working young professional employee who demonstrates quality style in her everyday work ethics! Good Job Gabrielle keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Bobby

Went to Nordik end of April, post exam day. Worth every penny I spent, and I did spend a pretty penny there. After the robe rent, $100 food wristband, enterence to all spa area, and full body 60 minute massage it was about $350. I went with three other friends and we stayed from noon-close the entire day. It wasn't to packed, the pools were, but there was always something new to see and do inside Nordik. The cocktails/food were delicious, and the facilities were very clean. Recommend to bring an empty bottle to pour water in all day, help with the heat, and get there early enough to get a decent parking spot. At night the atmosphere of the place was so romantic, fire heated cabins, outside hot tubs all lit up, was honestly so relaxing and great. I will be making an annual trip to Nordik!! Bring your own bathrobe to save some money, but try every spa ammenity inside Nordik. I have anxiety and sometimes panick attacks, Nordik honestly made me relax. I also get board easily, but even the whole day there I didn't have time to enjoy every activity, was great.

I ve been to the spa several times and it is very beautiful. Unfortunately, their booking system is very unreliable. I booked services 3 weeks out, showed up on time, checked in and paid for them. When I went to check in for my massage, I found out it had been canceled shortly after I checked in and paid. I ve now been waiting close to a month for a refund for the services I never received because of another glitch in the system. I would like to say this was an exception but the same thing happened to two of my friends.

Where do I begin? Perhaps it's at the end of a very long line that snaked outside the spa. We were told it wouldn't be long, but an hour later we finally made it to the front desk. Once we were finally welcomed, we were told we'd have to share lockers (which are already extremely small). In addition, my friend and I, wished to purchase bath robes. However, after putting through our transaction, we were told they were completely sold out and needed to be reimbursed. We then decided to rent and were told that no robes were available due to the fact that they were over capacity. The pools were
Well maintained, however, there was a lack of ambiance due to to the overwhelming amount of people in the facility. When I went to purchase a drink, I was told that the 100$ that I had put in my bracelet was not on record. I therefore had to depend on my friends and their bracelet to pay for my evening. After dining on stale bread and cheese at the overcrowded lounge, we decided we had had enough of this disappointing experience. When we went to settle up at the front desk and expressed our poor experience... we were disregarded and given the managers card to contact at a late date. So much Could have been done to elevate our unfortunate experience. And yet we left feeling unvalued and disregarded. The desk clerk even asked if we had any suggestions to curb their bathrobe theft problem (like that's really up to us). Anyway, no compensation was given for the extremely disappointing experience at this (supposed) first class spa at which we forked out over 160$ per person to visit.
