I have loved Nordik for years and visited again today for the first time in awhile. The new amenities (outdoor shower, Kalla pool, and additional seating) are great touches and all of the facilities are clean and beautiful.
I arrived shortly before opening and the first few hours of my visit were excellent; everyone was quiet and respectful and I was able to enjoy the stress-relieving experience I was looking for. The waitstaff at lunch were also excellent.
However, the afternoon was another story. The place was full to capacity and in my view that capacity needs to be reduced; doors were constantly opening and closing to the saunas and quiet spaces and there was a general lack of noise discipline, especially in the silent areas. It really distracted me from what was supposed to be a quiet and relaxing day. I was also looking forward to the Afguss ritual which is always a favourite but the sauna was PACKED for the session. With a lack of room to move around I found the experience extremely distracting and not at all relaxing.
Although a nice experience, the Kalla pool was not worth $45.
I love Nordik and highly recommend it ,but wish there was something that could be done about the limit of people able to experience it at once. The crowding really took away from the quiet and peaceful visit I was hoping for.

We like to go for a mini vacations when we have a day off during the week. You have to get there really early though or you could end up waiting for a long time I've seen the wait time up to two hours just to get in.
I love what they offer, but it is hard to enjoy yourself when there are 300 other people around. I understand it's a popular place, but we didn't go at a busy time and still we found it hard to find room in most of the pools and hottubs. It's also hard to stay there long enough to get your money's worth, and the parking lot is a disaster. There are no lines, so people don't know how to park and they could easily create 20+ more spots by organizing it better. I would recommend reviewing the place as much as possible before going, and also booking a service like a massage to make it worth while. Our massages were wonderful, and we also loved the saunas, the atmosphere, and the food and drinks!
Went to the Nordik-Spa as my first outing since Covid and it was quite impressive. I noticed that they had a number of staff cleaning common areas regularly, they had clear signs of maximum occupancy for each pool and overall due to the low number of people there, it was a pleasant experience. There are many pools and saunas here and you can spend easily 6 hours when you go. They gave each person a robe and 3 towels with electronic access to a locker. I hadn t been here before Covid so I m not sure if these measures were already in place but I definitely felt safe using their spa and will go back in the near future.
Washrooms were not clean, no toilet paper in the stall. People really loud in quiet areas when we complained the employees didn't even address the issue. Sat at the lounge to eat, waited at a dirty take for 15 minutes before it was cleaned and 20 more minutes and no one came back to take our order so we left and decided to eat somewhere when we left. Very dissatisfied
The overall location itself was nice. It was more the staff that made us feel uncomfortable. This time we went at night and we found that the surveillance of staff watching couples in pools was very uncomfortable. The "security staff" would stand over couples and for upwards of 5-mins. I went with 3 girlfriends and it was clear we were not engaging in any suspicious activities and they still stood over us for upwards of 5 mins. Another thing that made the experience distasteful was when we got on the grounds we tried to take a couple of pictures by ourselves. We were then told by a staff that picture were not allowed because people come to the spa with people who are not their significant others and they don't want to be photographed . The fact that I paid $75 plus dollars to have someone tell me I cant even take a photo of myself because they are more worried about people cheating at the spa feeling uncomfortable is disgusting.
I'm shocked at how busy this place is now, and how it's become more of a party zone than a relaxing spa. There are lineups to get in, lineups for Kalla, and lineups for every restaurant.
We paid an extra $45 each for Kalla (the saltwater floating pool), and were extremely disappointed with how dirty it was. There was garbage all over the floor, ear plugs floating in the pool (SO gross), and a ton of ear plugs and other debris floating in the little area beside the main pool. One of the large ceiling lights was flickering the whole time, too.
We used to come here quite a bit, but I'm not sure that we'll be back anytime soon - would rather drive 2 1/2 hours for a better experience in Tremblant.
Drove here all the way from Toronto and it was sooo worth it! After their remodel its even better and we had an amazing relaxing day, i love the new social area they have added where you can chill in the pool with a beer, in the winter the pool is warm and the view from there is great! The fitting rooms are super clean and their bracelet system that opens tour locker is genius! Cant wait until we can come again!
I had a pretty bad experience with the front desk lady , she wasnt friendly or very helpful did not explain the map etc despite me telling her it was my first time . Just that one lady was mean, the other employees there were super nice and friendly. The spa itself was comfortable and spacious, not overly crowded very clean. Overall a relaxing experience, I probably wouldnt come back only because the price is quite high compared to other spas.
Also i called in the morning to ask if they had tampons , the employee said no and told me to buy them elsewhere. However they do have tampons and pads in their changing rooms. Could have saved me some time if they knew what they were talking about.
The sauna show was really amazing. I liked it a lot.
I wish there was more than 5 stars, This place is amazing. the layout of the pools, saunas, steam rooms, restaurants and bars is fantastic and beautiful. Block your entire day. Spend no less than 8 hours. Try every station. Your pass gives full access with no time limit. By far the best spa I've ever been to. Also love the bar and hot tubs 'non quiet zone' where you can hangout in the hot tubs drink and chat!! The girls bathroom has hair dryers and hair straighteners which I think is awesome, It's not cheap but it's very very much worth i, Highly recommended.
I wouldn't advise getting a gift certificate. I hurt my back and can't use mine, and they won't refund. It's just money down the drain. Actually it's in their pocket. It strikes me as very greedy.
I've visited Nordik several times over the years and the quality of the experience has gone down significantly. Raising these concerns with the reception staff leads only to "oh, I'm sorry, I don't know" being the only response to any question or observation.
Aroma sauna used to have essential oils diffused throughout the day. Over the last two visits (both this summer) the only smell there was chlorine.
The pool that used to be 5 degrees C was 15 degrees in July. In August, it still said 15 but was warmer than the one labelled 21 degrees. At the same time, here are THREE hot pools throughout the spa with almost the same temperature: 38 and 39 degrees. I would expect an actual variety, leaning more on the cool range, considering the contrast needed after a hot sauna AND it being summer.
The sauna that hosts the Aufguss rituals had its main entrance blocked by a large black screen with absolutely no note on what that implies. People would need to enter and exit through the only other door, but there was no communication about it at the main entrance and it was not communicated until the first ritual at 10am.
The quality of essential oils used during the Aufguss seems to have plummeted. There is a distinct soapy smell at the end and the tea tree oil smells like a cheap cologne.
The prices are going up, while the experience quality is going down. The tickets used to be in the $50 range, they are now at $70. You'll pay $16+ for a cocktail (and would not be able to take it to a silent area by the fire to enjoy while reading a book). At the cafe, what used to be a delicious salmon board with several types of differently-prepared salmon and a variety of pickles and condiments is now a narrow dish with 4 rolled slices of salmon over a layer of cream cheese. The charcuterie board selection has shrunk as well. Most of the real estate is taken up by bread.
The logs in the fireplaces are not being replenished very frequently, resulting in fires dying down. The centerpiece fireplace at the cafe has not been lit at all for the last several times we have visited. There are now, however, two large black fans blowing on the entire interior, making it cold and uncomfortable to sit anywhere near the central area where the fire used to be, let alone the amount of noise those fans generate rendering conversation near-impossible. This results in everyone trying to shout over the fans to be heard.
Overall, the consistently falling variety, quality and service, at a higher cost. And yes, "Your relaxation begins here" sign just before you are being told you cannot enter (while there is no line-up, right at the opening time) and have to wait, is priceless.
Every time I come here, they get busier and busier and cram more people into the same space. Much as I enjoy coming to the spa, there's nothing relaxing about lining up for an hour+, before doing anything. The experience has steadily diminished for me over the past 3-4 years.
Nice but overcrowded with a lot of ignorant people that cannot seem to respect the very simple rule of keeping quiet, staff does not seem to care about this and is not enforced at all.
This place is amazing. The setting in the woods, the layout of the pools, saunas, steam rooms, restaurants and bars is fantastic and beautiful. It's not cheap but it's very much worth it. By far the best Nordic spa I've ever been to. Highly recommended.
Fabulous spa, just the admission for the day is worth it for me! The thermal experience is a combo of hot and cold baths as well as saunas and relaxation rooms which they explain very well. I highly suggest you bring your own flip flops, water bottle, and book for the day. The staff is accommodating and friendly and the whole place just is calm. Quite pricey, well worth it.
I've come here a number of times over the years and this is the first time with the new check-in process. Arrived at 11:10 for an 11:15 check in. Had to wait outside in the cold because they wouldn't let us in until exactly 11:15. This created another line up in which they had to process all the people who arrived for 11:15. Went upstairs to sign in and there was another long line up. Not impressed at all.
One of the best places in the region to spend a day and just relax. However way too many people walking around taking pictures in ever pool and sauna, wish the staff would enforce then cellphone rule.
First time visit. Excellent experience. But i feel like i cannot give it 5 stars as i have no idea how good it is compared to other places as this was my first time doing this. It felt good! Lol many pools of varying degrees in temperature. The spas are hot and finctional and make you sweat. The staff was very nice. Not a child friendly place as its a quite zone. But that was nice too.
If the many positive reviews have not convinced you, please do pay a visit and check out the place for yourself. It is a scenic and relaxing place overlooking the busy city at only a short distance away from the hustle and bustle. They offer a variety of amenities and the prices are competitive and fair. This is one of the best spas in North America for a reason, and the crowds justify it.
Must go! Drinks are good but food quality is poor! The place is amazing and super relaxing! I personaly think the best time for it is mid-September however mid-February has its own adventure over there:). You don't need to bring in your own towel and they give you one for free but there is some charge for a robe.
Went there for my birthday. It was great. I find it overpriced compared to other spas in Quebec. But we live in the Capital so its to be expected. What I didn't expect was to receive a ticket by mail for 465$ ticket for expired plates, which happened to my boyfriend who's car we used for the day. Granted I know he was in the wrong for having not remembered his plates in the first place. But its the way the local enforcement go about giving you this ticket, by mail. I found it lazy and spiteful considering Quebec plates so I've heard don't expire like ours. I felt very targeted based on my my Ontario plates.
Very wonder place to visit! We went for the couples massage and it was a very solid experience! The Russian banya was incredible with the salts that they provide! At the end of the day they have a Finnish spa ritual that was excellent! They have you grab a snowball out of a bucket so you can cool yourself with it. They put a few different oils on the rocks and wave the towels around to heat up the room. I recommend visiting Nordic Spa.
Very pricey, but everyone has to experience this place at least once in their lifetime! My husband & I go at least once a year, and it's my birthday treat to myself every year for the past 4 years. Honestly, I would live here if I could.
We went fairly early (9am) and barley had any wait before entering for the day. All the tubs and saunas were awesome and we enjoyed the day. The Tapas restaurant was okay but everything other that that was very nice.
Very nice place a great experience but expensive massages are not good there is a lack of heat from the massage therapists not heated table. No hot towel on the eyes. You are not asked what you need. At the price we paid $ 367 just for bath and massage it was disappointing. You have to improve your massage.
Amazing experience!! There are so many different types of saunas that's hard to tell which one was my favourite. The restaurant and lounge were excellent. Great variety of drinks and the food was really good. Had the braised beef sandwich and totally recommend it!!! The staff is so friendly and are always smiling. Will definately be back!!!!
Great place to relax for hours. Enjoy the saunas, hot and cold pools. Then have a massage or some other body treatment. Go for a meal at a nice restaurant. Then go back to the hot, cold relaxing fun. Many relaxation areas with fire pits and heat lamps. Had a great day and would do it again.
Very nice relaxing setting. Nice variety of hot/cold/relaxing areas. Massages and food/drinks available. Only downside is the current construction and it can seem a bit crowded. (I guess the construction will help!)
This was our second visit and we had a great day. Loved our couples massage and the KALA add on was worth the $45 extra charge. We can't wait for their Whitby location to open in 2020!
Beautiful facilities and landscaping, but that's all the place has going for it. The actual experience falls well short of basic expectations. Saunas and hot tubs that are warm at best. Loud irritating spa-muzak piped in everywhere. Line ups and crowded spaces, mid-day and mid-week. No efforts by staff to manage customers who think the silent areas are a good place for a long/loud chat, or using their cell phones despite spa rules. I've been to lots of spas in Ontario and the only thing relieving about this one is the systematic process of separating you from your money.
Won t be going back to Nordik spa. Ever. After an incredible (and much needed) day of relaxation, the space started getting kind of rowdy once the sun went down. I m all in for having fun, but when folks are loudly swearing and making anti Quebec jokes in the public spaces, you start to wonder if your tranquility will ever return. I ended up wrapping up the day early and headed for the change rooms. In walks a young lady so drunk she can t remember (or figure out how to open) her locker. I had placed my things on the bench directly behind the two of us, leaving 3/4ths of the bench free for others. Once she finds her things she launches her towel and bathrobe onto my things, spilling a coffee all over my belongings. I pick up her stuff and move it to a space and she slurs don t touch my stuff b$tch she then turns around and throws the rest of my stuff onto the floor. ... that s only a snapshot of what happened but you get the picture , right ? So I sent a note to management and the manager of client experiences replies with this :
Thank you so much for your time and commitment in sharing your impression about you visit at the spa yesterday. Your comments are highly valued and are greatly appreciated helping us improving our facility and services. Le Nordik Spa Nature team strives and is very proud to offer a service of excellence to all our guests.
I am so very sorry to hear that your relaxing experience was challenged at the end of your day by another individual in the locker room.
It is indeed very regrettable and unfortunate for any organizations and our guests to encounter individuals that have issues with their behaviors and are lacking in respect to others. I may assure you that our institution has a strict zero tolerance policy towards such an attitude. All our colleagues are trained to react to prevent as much as we can these incidents and are applying firm actions when confronted with any type of abuses. Guests are immediately requested to leave the property to ensure the wellbeing of all of our guests, the safety of the individuals themselves and the smooth running of our operations and could be ban from our facilities for multiple months, see years depending of the gravity of the actions. Thankfully, these are very rare incidents and the large majority of our guests respect a proper code of conduct.
The Nordik Spa-Nature, with its primary aim of promoting a pleasant and peaceful environment, offers a wide range of products and services to satisfy different relaxation goals. Unfortunately, sometime, people don t respect that same goal. I can assure you that when the attitude of a person becomes contradictory with this mission or causes conflicts or discomfort with other guests, we will not hesitate to intervene, so never hesitate to share the information immediately with our colleagues. I will also share your experience with our team to rise even more awareness on the matter for future references.
We, once again, thank you for choosing Le Nordik Spa for your destination in the beautiful Outaouais region. If you require any additional information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly via this email or via phone
This email is literally cut and pasted as it s all in different fonts and sizes. And really ? Thanking me for choosing the spa, but ultimately how people behave on their property isn t their problem. Whatever happened to making it right ?! And then .. when i replied to that generic nonsense, letting him know I d be giving a poor review of my experience online, his next email came back accusing me of threatening him ... anyhow .. won t be going there anymore.. any suggestions on where else to go!?
I have been coming to the Nordik for years but I can honestly say this was the worst experiences I have ever had at a spa. When we got to the spa on Christmas Eve we were told it was children s day. We were looking for a relaxing day so we had no problem just returning another day. However when we were about to leave and return another day, two separate staff members ensured us that children were only allowed in specific areas and they had their own changing room so that it would remain a relaxing environment. After paying over $200 we quickly realised that it was a scam. Children were running around everywhere, there was no place off limits to them. There is nothing less relaxing then trying to enjoy a silent sauna when your sharing it with unsupervised screening and giggling pre-teens. Halfway though the day, the adult only changing room became a free for all. I complained to staff and nothing was done. The worst part of this experience was that my partner and I were very happy to come a different day, but were convinced to stay by staff members. I am disgusted by the lack of respect Nordik has for its patrons.
Always love this place, you will definitely feel relaxed leaving. I highly suggest getting there around open because you won't want to leave so you'll need all the time of the day to enjoy and try everything. 90% of the time phenomenal staff if you have any questions concerns they know how to answer.
Loved it. First time there. What a great way to spend a day. Felt calm and relaxed despite there being a lot of people. Price very affordable. Will go back definitely.
Le Nordik was a spot that I once considered a charming and relaxing spa. I wish this was still the case. The spa was booked to capacity, which was believable because of the amazing fall we are having, however the spa is not well equipped to support the popularity that has come with their beauty and their recent expansion. The facility ran out of robes to rent and only offered small towels that were barely big enough to wrap around you.
The quality of food (which is typically amazing) fell short from expectations. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip - this came out cold. We shared this with the server, which she then questioned us are you sure? Yes! We were absolutely sure it was cold! Why would we make this up?
I am torn because le Nordik was such a local gem but it s quickly losing its charm and quality of attention that was once offered to its clients.
I am hoping management will catch glimpse of this review to ensure that le Nordik can regain its appeal and its prestige.
We went to celebrate mother s day and was very disappointed because of a mistake that was made by one of their receptionist. The lady forgot to inform us that my mom and I were supposed to go to another building instead where we ended up staying for 15-20. We waited there for that long until I decided to go down to the reception to ask about what s happening. By the time we started our massage, 30 mns already went by and I was terribly upset.
Our first visit was a complete fail , overpriced ...absolutely zero explanation or tour of the amenities , my massage was a waste of money (Mano was the masseuse) ...I let the management know about my very unpleasant experience and very poor massage and not one return phone call to make things right. I was told this place is top notch by family that lives in ottawa and they go almost every month and they spend alot of money there and Nordik has lost our business for good. the massage people were suppose to reach out to me to make amends for our horrible service and massage and nobody ever contacted me. the grounds are nice but the service was horrible and that did not make up for it not one bit. the pools are ok , no water bottles, no real attention to detail...Really a great business model with very bad execution.
First time we went things were great. Second time, not so great, we were not told a bath, the one we went for was closed, were charged full price. They restaurant uses Nuts oils exclusively and in large amounts. I mentioned we had to go to the car for lunch because I cannot eat there due to a life threatening nut allergy and was told it was fine, upon our return were told that in the future if we leave the property they might have to charge us again. I for one will be filling a complaint with the better business bureau and encourage all you people who have given bad review to work with me and do the same.
