Have stayed at the Sofitel Gatwick for several years now, it makes the holiday more special.

Always have an early flight, so can take the cases over the night before, and all you have to worry about in the morning is your hand luggage.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were initially given a room that hadn't been cl...

We were initially given a room that hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupants (unmade bed, dirty cups, etc). We had to wait 25 minutes for the concierge to come and give us keys to a new room. We were exhausted and hungry, so this was quite an irritation after a wait at check-in.

We then ate in the Vanda restaurant and were extremely disappointed. The food was terrible - overpriced and small portions. I then literally had dirt in my mouth as the mushrooms weren't cleaned and I had to show the manager.

To top it off, the wifi wasn't working, but the front desk sorted it out after a phone call.

This was my first experience at the London Sofitel and I have to say that we won't be coming back as it was awful. (I'm not usually the type to complain like this either. :( )

Asked for a bottle of wine at the bar to take to our room, charged a service charge when all he did was remove the bottle from the fridge and pass it to me ! Will take my own next time.
Room was average but I had a broken bed which the cleaner making it would most definitely have noticed. It was replaced with another bed that was also a very poor quality and felt like I was sleeping in a hammock !
Customer service called to offer another room but we were already in pjs and settled for an early morning wake up. Offered a free upgrade if I go back within a year...a bottle of wine would have been a much better offer, after that I might have slept better !

Fast check in to a nice room and then a short walk...

Fast check in to a nice room and then a short walk to the terminal for our early flight the following morning. This gave us at least another 30 minutes sleep before our long day travelling to Greece

Very good start point for your holiday when flying...

Very good start point for your holiday when flying, rooms are excellent access to the airport a short walk for the north terminal and a simple transfer to the South Terminal. Have stayed there 10 times in the last 5 years. Booked already for our next trip.

Staffing shortages not to mention a 7 hour power c...

Staffing shortages not to mention a 7 hour power cut during our 3 night stay. Room located on the fifth floor lifts out of action due to power cut turned into a asthma sufferers nightmare. Then on top got billed for someone's food and drinks. When I argued my case staff questioned my integrity.

The car reception chaps were great. Check in was easy, the food at the restaurant was poor quality and expensive. The room was tired and the shower wobbled. Will nebstayong at the holiday inn next time and will be telling my 5000 Facebook followers also. Not impressed at all.

Chris at reception was amazing and very happy to give us an upgrade on room and a lovely free drink. Fantastic start to holiday. Just be very careful when leaving your car as my husband's brand new car ended up with a small dent which they are not taking responsibility for. Get your car checked on arrival as they will only take pictures when your car is moved
So the car originally parked next to us did the damage. We are very disappointed at the outcome form a hotel of their standing
Perhaps we would have got something done if we had been one of the Bentleys or huge Range Rovers. Left a bitter taste to our experience.

I have previously stayed at the Sofitel at Termina...

I have previously stayed at the Sofitel at Terminal 5 Heathrow. The difference with Gatwick North Terminal was stark. The main issue in the room was the lack of sound proofing so the noise od aircraft movement as still present in the room.
In additionI was so disappointed with the Vanda restaurant I am surprised that Sofitel allows it to hold a franchise there

As always the Sofitel Gatwick offered us an excellent room and services. Would definitely recommend booking carparking at the hotel as this makes life so much easier with just a short stroll to the airport.

Very comfortable hotel & really convenient for Nor...

Very comfortable hotel & really convenient for North terminal. Felt so much more relaxed than the usual airport hotels

Would be useful if there was a sign saying where the free car parking spaces are on arrival - parking spaces a bit tight and manoeuvring big cars is quite tricky.

Staff very friendly and helpful - lovely authentic asian meal. Shame we didnt have longer to enjoy the facilities.

This hotel is convenient for the airport but I'm surprised it's allowed to call itself a Sofitel, the rooms look like they haven't been updated since the 1980s and I've seen better bathrooms in a travelodge. Still waiting to receive my fast check out invoice...

I HAVE STAYED AT AT THE SOFITEL GATWICK QUITE A FEW TIMES AND LIKE A CERTAIN EXTERIOR ROOM
WHICH IS USUALLY KEPT FOR ME. I DO ASK FOR THIS ROOM AT TIME OF BOOKING. THIS IS USUALLY NOTED ON THE COMPUTER AS IS MY CARD NUMBER. THE STAFF USUALLY ASK IF I WOULD LIKE THE
RESTAURANT RESERVED WHICH I AM ALWAYS PLEASED ABOUT. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY HAPPY AT THE SOFITEL AS THE ROOMS ARE COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN AND THE BEDS SUPERB. THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL AT RECEPTION AND THE RESTAURANT. I AM ALWAYS HAPPY TO RECOMEND THE SOFITEL TO PEOPLE.

We were lucky at checking because there was only one person ahead of us. Later there was a huge queue and even to get a lift was a problem. Breakfast was basic and we were not offered any more coffee after the first cup. It is next to the terminal so that was good. Disappointing overall.

Covered walkway from terminal, lovely and polished look, choice of restaurants ( very limited if vegetarian) if you are looking for a decent night's sleep pre flight, in a dark room with a bed that doesn't feel like a lumpy water bed then definitely book in the premier inn next door.

Reservation and check in worked smoothly. (Lucky no big queue at time we arrived) Wait for lift as one of the two initially used out of order.

Room fine for over night pre flight stay.

Relaxing ambience in the bar area

Urban cafe dinner service - slow to take order had to remind staff x 3

Check out very easy.

The hotel rooms and the staff were very good, however the bars and restaurants attached were too expensive and im not sure they were very good value for money. Overall, i would probably stay again but if other places were available i would likely pick those first because of these extra costs.

Room was clean (bath was sparkling and inviting for a bath!) and appreciated use of the fridge. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Food excellent and due to food allergies the chef could not have been more accommodating.

Best hotel at North terminal but annoying to have to book meet and greet parking and hotel stay with Tui as your telephone staff could not offer valet parking...... sadly also cheaper for meet and greet hotel & parking through Tui website than your park yourself options.... did try to give you the direct business but sadly you couldnt offer the services despite others allowing us to book them with you

Hotel conveniently located across from Gatwick North Terminal. However the size and level of equipment of the rooms does not justify the price charged, including in the airport area. We regret a bathroom veillotte and passably equipped.

This was our first time at the hotel.

This was our first time at the hotel.
We had a superior room which allowed us 10% discount for drinks and food (as advised at reception)
When our card was presented at the bar, this was not deducted from our bill and we had to ask twice.
Also, in the Thai restaurant we were overcharged for drinks, and no 10% discount taken off our bill, the bill had to be presented 3 times before it was correct!
We only had 1 dressing gown in the room and had to request another.
We noted later in the evening, when putting this on, it had dirty marks on it.

We have stayed here five or six times for one night only before going on holiday. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are always friendly and helpful. We are vegetarian and the food is enjoyable, we always enjoy our stay here that's why we keep going back highly recommend this hotel.

We were only staying overnight before leaving for ...

We were only staying overnight before leaving for Barcelona very early the next morning. We also had arranged to leave our car with the hotel during our trip. We had an enjoyable meal in one of th restaurants before an early night. Our Wake up call was puctual and we left the hotel at 04:30 am.
Everthing went according to plan, including the collection of our vehicle when we returned. The hote was exceptionally clean and well organised despite obviously having a continuous flow of guest, most only short stay.
