Lovely hotel comfy beds always upgrade us and great food
I recently visited the Sofitel Gatwick on a professional basis for a meeting, the staff are very helpful and attentive. Would recommend
Great place, Service and always looked after. Beds could be a bit more comfortable
The hotel is fine and the rooms are of a good standard.
However the seating both in the dining areas and bar are woefully inadquate for the size of the hotel and the cost is outrageous..
Good location for a very early flight, I don't think you can get closer to the North Terminal. Comfortable rooms at a price which is not outrageous.
Did not eat here but in the South Terminal as mains seemed pricey
Perfect location for travel and business meetings. Location excellent and services good.
Makes travelling a much more enjoyable experience.
Great location, good food in the Asian fusion restaurant... But this place needs a gym upgrade in the worst way
Fantastic location, very nice front desk, and super comfortable room. Best place to stay at Gatwick.
Experienced a power cut for over half a day. Made concentrating on the course I was attending very difficult. Surprised that a hotel at this level was inable to supply alternative power for such a long period.
Rude rude service and rip off prices due to accidentally booking one day early, horrific experience, hotel was only able to squeeze us in once we paid again, previous to that hotel was fully booked!!
Room 4/5
Pillows 5/5
Bed 3/5 as the bed movers as anyone moves
Towels 5/5
Bar service in kubar 4/5
Service in terrace 0/5 and I'd give it minus if I could. No service so went to wait station to order food and drink just as others were having to do. Told to sit and was introduced to a waitress who would come and take our order she went to the table next to us took their order and then never came back . We sat with the previous guests empty plates and 10 minutes later she still didn't come. We went to bed hungry
Hotel is so welcoming and the staff are very accommodating. This is my favourite place to stay before travelling. The rooms are a good size, very comfortable with all the facilities you would expect. We were celebrating our anniversary during our stay, which they made extra special. Thank you Sofitel
We always stay here when we've got a flight from Gatwick. Comfortable rooms restaurant bar has quite average food restaurants are better.
You really can't get a room closer than this and if you ask nicely you can have a view of the runway, just right for all us big kids.
Lovely room with a very comfortable bed. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a Superior Room, which I was very happy with. Bathroom was spotless and we were provided with robes and slippers. Check in was quick and easy.
Good size room that was very clean, comfy bed and very handy for the terminal. Also handy on site parking for your holiday.
Apart from the slightly longer queuing time, possibly because last minute room bookings by other guests in front of the queue, check in was efficient and hassle free. Got upgraded to the luxury room on the 8th floor at the checkout, so a big plus too. Shame I only have time to stay for one night before early flight next day and therefore did not get a chance to use the club facilities. The room itself was bright and clean, and the bed was very comfortable that has made a good night sleep. Recommended especially for early flight next day to avoid the rushing around in the morning.
We have been guests at the Sofitel at Gatwick many times over the last 10yrs and have always found the experience to be very convenient when travelling as a family. The package we always utilise is what you advertise as 'Parking at the hotel' together with overnight accommodation.
On this occasion it became apparent to me when I collected my vehicle from your car park that my vehicle had obviously been moved to a different 'off site' location and was in a disgusting state all over and underneath. The vehicle has obviously been driven into some form of field & mud and is covered in what appears to be thick mud, grass & poultry excrement complete with feathers. The interior audio system has also been tampered with with unknown radio channels having been programmed into the system. I had noted the mileage reading on my vehicle upon parking and noted upon collection that my vehicle has definitely been driven for some ten (10) miles from where I had originally parked it at the Sofitel. I am extremely unhappy at this situation and will also be contacting the general manager at the hotel following this 'Satusfaction' survey.
Wonderful , lovely hotel and it s not my first time to stay but definitely the most memorable one this time!! My car got damaged in there car park and the after care I received from staff was not what I ve expected from a 5* hotel.
Only stayed overnight but as always quick and convenient way to enjoy star to our holsvwhen you have an early flight the next day!
Bed was absolutely amazing, but the rest of the room was distinctly average. Drinks and food was very overpriced, even for a London location, and a 12.5% service charge was added to absolutely everything regardless of how many there were of you. The service charge was branded as optional, but the hotel was well aware of the fact the vast majority of guests would not want to necessarily go through the embarrassment of verbally asking for this to be removed - especially in an open restaurant or bar. Plus, when paying by card, the staff did not even ask if you wished this to be added or removed, they just stuck it on so it was up to the customer to ask to have it removed. On very over priced food and drinks this made them even more expensive and overall left the impression the hotel and its staff were of most importance with the customer an exceptionally poor third.
The service was impeccable and the rooms were very special and the staff were amazing all in all 5-stars
Great over night stop for early flights pay a little more for 8th floor and enjoy inclusive drinks and canopes in the eve and breakfast in the morning
We always overnight here before early morning flights, short walk into Gatwick Airport. As it is always part of our holiday we always upgrade and have lunch and dinner here. The centre is a large open space (covered) where you can find reception with very helpful staff. No noise from aircraft comfortable rooms.
Solid, but as a "luxury hotel" I would not call it now.
Room was ready on time & accessible for my wife. Perfect or our early flight, such a chilled start to our holiday.
Great hotel plus a good breakfast with lots of choice.
We stayed here before our flight an goin the place to look beautiful but the restaurants had no children's menu an the spare bed in the room was extremely uncomfortable with springs so we would not stay here again
Park and fly is so easy. Assistance upon arrival with bags, ease of booking in and full explanation that car may be moved, fortunately on this occasion it remained where we had parked I
Always stay overnight before flying to Santorini. The rooms and beds are exceptional and we also take advantage of the car parking option. Good choice of food in the restuarants
Beautiful hotel connected directly to Gatwick Airport North terminal. Easy to get to. Very friendly and helpful staff. Brilliant on-site restaurants too.
A very good hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds are great. Food is very expensive but as it's connected to the airport I would suggest eating in the terminal
Great place to stay before a holiday and help remove the stress of having to rush to airport on day as this hotel is connected to terminal and takes like 5 mins to get to terminal across the walkway.
When talking about SOFITEL, you would expect minimum of services...
Not even a bottle of water in the room and when you ask for an adaptor to the desk, they don't have and you are invited to buy one at North Terminal.
Staff nice, location brilliant rooms starting to look a little tired.
Very good hotel, friendly staff, clean room, and lovely food.
Stayed here for a few hours between flights, over priced
The experience is always good. There is nothing too difficult for any staff member whether it is the front desk team or the house keepers. There is always a pleasant welcome and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Small maintenance tasks seem to be cleared up quickly when pointed out. In summary, whether you are staying for one night to 1 month, it's a great place.
Was surprised at the quality and setting of this airport hotel. Room was nice and clean, lots of food options. Only problem I had was I found it rude how all restaurants added an optional tip to the bill that was not optional at all. Please make the price clearer.
Best hotel if your flying out of Gatwick..its connected to the terminals
Stayed part of night before early flight. Everything operated smoothly to give us calm few hours rest.
It was a short stop over before an early flight. Check in was quick and efficient.
Second time we have stayed in the Sofitel before heading off on an early start. Hotel is wonderful, parking is easy and so close to the terminal. Yet again we booked in the Pan Asian restuarant and had a great meal. It may appear to be expensive but it adds another day to the holiday and completely worth it.
From check with Leticia to check out, it was easy, friendly and just a treat! Nothing was too much bother customer service was excellent and Leticia ( trainee receptionist) was an absolute delight, smiley, friendly and very helpful and informative, a true asset!
Excellent hotel and very relaxing, my favourite at Gatwick.
Comfortable room, but the brasserie being located in the ballroom with no reduction in price meant it was over priced - no ambience and seating appalling.
We really enjoyed our stay before an early morning flight departure to Crete. Zsolt looked after us very well with the park & fly parking space & Margot looked after us very well in the Club floor lounge. Thanks again.
A bit stressful. Arrived from a long flight and was using the hotel as a "day room" to take a shower and close out eyes for a couple of hours before our connecting flight. I had at the time of booking forgot to mention my kids.
When I went to do the check in the clerk charged me an extra 60 pounds for a family room that I did not ask for. I did not need an extra king size and two extra single bed. My children sleep with my wife and I we only needed 1 big bed. Especially if we were only staying about 4 hours !
Anyways I am not pleased.
Sincerely,
Phillip Estacio
The pillows are flat the air con is really noisy and it smells mouldy
Nice venue for meetings. Air con was a bit much for me
Rooms are nice and clean but air conditioning always set too high making it way too hot. I adjusted it so many times but didn't cool it down. I have stayed here a few times and found the same so wont be going back. Very expensive too.
Have stayed here a few times but our visit was marred by building work where one third of the central lobby area was limited with choice of restaurants. A quality stay nevertheless.
Unsupportive guest relations provided us with a noisy room. This was suppose to be great start for a surprise Holiday which was ruined. Could not sleep during our stay due to noise from inter-terminal shuttle service and partying guests underneath us. Have stayed here before but have never suffered in this way. Room comfortable and well equiped. Lack of sleep completely defeated the reason for our stay to leave for an early morning flight. I would be VERY RELUCTANT TO STAY HERE AGAIN.
Was a very pleasant evening , warm reception .
Great services from concierge
Really great as before.. Hotel was incredibly busy so was shocked they had decided to refurbish one of the bars in this busy period of the year. Food was great again in Asian restaurant and bar service much more friendly than last time which is good
The stay in the hotel was lovely. The breakfast was delicious. However the experience of leaving the car was not good. When we returned from our hoilday, my car would not start. The doorman and the concigere tried to be helpful looking for jump leads and battery charger. Unfortunately there was not one in the hotel. The hotel asked the parking company they use to help but they refused. Their response was what do you want me to do about it. Tell her to call out her breakdown company. I felt this was poor service as you pay a lot for stay and park. The hotel offered for us to sit in reception while I made the phone call. Although I had to use my phone to call out the RAC and was not offered a drink while we waited, even though we stay regularly.
Great for overnight stay before flight out of Gatwick. Room clean, tidy and spacious.
Room good, but what wasn't really explained were the 3 different restaurants situation, i was flying early and didn't want to be up late eating due to the restaurants not being explained to me properly or told exactly where they are, as it turns out la brassiere is the walk in restaurant for quick dining, the main one in your foyer for instance had a 50 min wait and was handing out pagers, but at no time did the main waiter or whatever he is say if you wish to eat quicker you could try here and point me to la brassiere .
plus when we took our pager and went to sit for drinks another waiter came over and just assumed we knew what we wanted to drink no menu given for drinks, when we asked for prosecco he scoffed at us like we were some cheap girls out for a hen night and said "we don't do that here" which really got my back up....but i let it go as i was waiting to eat.
The pager finally went off and we went to sit down this was quite late and i was now really hungry due to a long day and a long wait, when i realised la brasserie was tucked up the side and i could have eaten probably an hour and a half earlier i was fuming, if you own all 3 restaurants all of them should be telling you that you can eat quicker in the walk in one rather than assuming you want to wait so long to get fed.
plus get your snooty waiter in the sit down chill area to treat everyone equally and do his job of handing out a drinks menu rather than being rude to me about my drink choice.
Booked room and parking the night before our flight, great parking facility and lovely hotel. Location is absolutely perfect. Walked straight onto departures 2 mins after checking out. Will definitely use again
A great place to stay if you have an early morning flight. I find the staff friendly, the rooms comfortable, and well equipped. No need to go too far to eat as I always find the restaurants very good.
Booked a superior room with Queen size bed but was given a small room with twin beds. After walking all the way back to reception (had to carry my own heavy bag to the room and back) it was sorted and I was given what I had reserved. Room (especially bathroom)is old and could do with a facelift, but just needed a sleep and the bed was comfortable enough and the room was clean albeit a bit stuffy at first before the aircon kicks in. Room service food was just ok and main course was very small and left me hungry, still GBP 35!
I ventured to join a friend for some Christmas drinks after we landed back in Gatwick and we enjoyed a pleasant evening hosted by your staff at the bar. Although they were working Christmas they were very happy and very great at service.
I decided to stay the night and the bed was super comfortable.
I thought shower wasn't the best. It was good just not great, my home shower is better.
After a late arrival it was nice to get some rest in a well equipped room followed the next morning by an excellent breakfast.
I have one question about arrival. Although there is a dedicated desk for Club members there doesn't appear to be anyone asking those checking in whether they are members or not. It appears that there is no fast track for Club members but we have to join the rest of the queue. Am I wrong?
comfortable rooms and a very nice meal in the restaurant
Fantastic rooms, fantastic staff, fantastic service. Couldn't complain in the slightest
