We've stayed here several times when travelling abroad. Excellent night before and parking package. Supurb for North Terminal access direct from hotel. South terminal free monorail takes less than 5 minutes. The Brasserie serves great food and wine, beds comfortable and rooms clean and simple.

the booking was a joke and had to ring serval time...

the booking was a joke and had to ring serval times to get a resolution, i thought there may have been a good will gesture at the room but there wasn't, when i called to query if the min fridge was inclusive, i was advised that it was charged until i requested that being checked, then i was advised it was inclusive, the coffee machine was out of service in the lounge on floor 8, so was unable to get a cappuccino. over all i think it was a very bad experience.

We like to stay here because of the convenience to the terminal, the price is fair for an enjoyable experience.
Shame that we couldn't get into the restaurant but the Chinese was fine.
Check in at busy times is a nightmare, particularly when you need to collect car keys to get " on the road".

Super convenient overnight stay in Gatwick, even if you're flying from the other terminal as transport links couldn't be easier. The hotel is very nicely presented with good sized clean and comfortable rooms.

Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly and welcoming...

Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The main lobby has a few bars and restaurants, it also looks very grand as you walk in.

The room, we had just a classic room. It was very clean and a really comfortable bed.

Getting to the hotel. Its not well sign posted as your get off the shuttle train at North terminal take a left before entering the terminal.

Overall very nice experience.

Very good in nearly every respect.
Front desk staff superlative, room comfortable and warm, Oriental Restaurant still a wonderful experience.
Car parking regrettably expensive though, and the only other niggle is that the bacon at breakfast appears to be no longer grilled, but broiled - limp and unappetizing in the extreme!
Lovely new restaurant and decor - come on Sofitel, you can do better than this, put the bacon under the grill

We had one night in a great room overlooking the runway. Lovely big window, well appointed bathroom with lovely toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers were just great. They make ones stay so comfortable.

Excellent service, every member of staff was very polite and made us feel special. The room was lovely, extremely clean and comfortable. We cannot fault our stay and will definitely recommend you to our friends.

we were initially pleased with our hotel room with a good view towards the airport and runway.
However my wife entered the bathroom when the door came away from the top hinge.
We immediately reported it to reception/housekeeping and within 10 minutes staff attended and as no maintenance staff were on duty in the evenings we were informed that we had to move rooms as obviously the room was unsafe to occupy. We waited about a further 10 minutes before we (and the additional bed) were moved to another room on an upper floor with not as nice a view as the original view.
The rooms were comfortable and meals and drinks in the hotel were nice.
I recommend further checks are undertaken in future to ensure rooms are fit for purpose prior to guests arrivals.

Having recently enjoyed a fantastic stay at Sofite...

Having recently enjoyed a fantastic stay at Sofitel London Heathrow, we had high hopes for SLG. These were short lived however as beyond the lobby the hotel is little more than a massively over-priced Ibis.

Having been upgraded to a Superior room due to my Gold status, we were irritated to then learn that a superior is the exact same size as a classic room, with the only added extras being a robe and some slippers, and some F&B discount. The room was nothing more than average - and in this day and age it really is unacceptable to only have 2 plug sockets available for use, and for both of them to be no where near the bed is shocking.



When I walked into the bathroom I genuinely thought I'd booked an Ibis in error - it was the spitting image of their bathrooms with the most basic amenities. The shower was awful, with pathetic water pressure meaning that you had to stand close by to feel any water at all. We'd emailed ahead and requested an actual shower, rather than a shower over the bath, and I was appalled to be told that every single guest bathroom was designed in this way. This is an incredibly dated design providing no flexibility for guest requests.

The ONLY saving factor of the room was the view of the airport, which really was great.

We had a meal in the cafe which was nothing to write home about; the only saving grace was the friendliness of the waitress, whose name escapes me.

The service of the receptionist at check-in was also top notch - the combined attitudes of these 2 members of staff are all that stop me rating this hotel a 1.

Sofitel London Heathrow has multiple areas for guests to sit and relax in, which for an airport hotel - where guests traditionally arrive and then stay in the hotel until their flight - is so important. As far as we could see, SLG only had the small lobby area and so we felt cooped up in our 'superior' room until the next morning.

Access to the terminal from the hotel is convenient.

Overall, an incredibly disappointing stay at this Sofitel hotel, which from our experience of Accor Hotels (which is extensive worldwide) would be more appropriately branded an Ibis, or Novotel at a push. I've already cancelled my stay at SLG for the night before flights to New York in January, and for any future trips will specifically book flights out of LHR to avoid ever staying here again.

Our visit to the Sofitel was for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The food was delicious and our waitress, Oana, was very attentive. On learning it was out anniversary Oana arranged with the kitchen to create a dessert slate stating Happy Anniversary and offered a selection of complementary chocolates. It was a wonderful end to the evening. The food is a little pricey but definitely worth a visit.

We always stay here before we go away when flying from Gatwick. The staff are friendly and professional and the place is very well kept. The restaurants are lovely and the rooms comfortable, clean, well set up and contemporary. Do yourself a favour and stay before the morning of your flight to avoid the airport rush in the morning.

Major problem with my credit card which was reject...

Major problem with my credit card which was rejected on submitting pre pay.PIN was not recognised. Tried twice to rectify the situation. Had to use my own credit card which was accepted. Very disconcerting as if I had submitted the original card and rejected the account would be shut down.
Your receptionist was most unhelpful.
Having spoken to VISA I was informed that it was your terminal that was at fault.
Checked out on Saturday 5th and advised to use the card which went through. I have never had this problem in any other hotel except SOFITEL so I am wondering do I need this uncertainty in the future.
I asked for the invoice to be emailed to me which it was but there was no amount showing on the statement!

Very nice room, bit unusual room lights, u v to insert Room Key into slot to operate lights etc but nobody told us until l foned down to Reception, asked for 4 extra Pillows and they were delivered promptly and happily, also asked for water to drink and it was brought immediately. Very comfortable bed

Very comfortable room. Only one lift working for the whole hotel so often had to cue for 5-10 mins waiting just to get into my room. Staff at reception very friendly, until I tried to call them of the bedroom phone were there was no answers on six different attempts. Room service took more than 1min 30 to answer the phone and are over priced. Apart from that all request made have been met I.e. Higher room with plane view from window. Improvement needed but would stay here again based on excellent location to travel services for London and terminal building

We always use this hotel for early morning flights, check-in was smooth, very polite concierge and preferred room was allocated. The room was very clean . Dinner was very nice and quick so I could get to bed early.
Did not make use of the breakfast as it would have taken too much time before getting back to room for check-out so I now
know not to book breakfast with room for the next stay as I get breakfast at the BA Lounge anyway. Finally, the staff, doorman etc. early morning were extremely helpful as I had three suitcases to travel with.
It is always a pleasure to stay here and will continue to do so in the future. Also a great location not to have to travel long distances to Gatwick airport early a.m.

It's always a nice stay when we have an early morn...

It's always a nice stay when we have an early morning flight. The one downside was the room was too warm. We couldn't cool it down any further and the windows didn't open.
We were given our room cards and went a long way to get there. Fine, but the keys didn't work and we had to return all the way to reception with our bags. Turns out the wrong room number was written on card sleeve. A bit of customer satisfaction would have been nice, like a couple of cocktails, but only a "oh, sorry".

From the moment we stepped in to the hotel we knew...

From the moment we stepped in to the hotel we knew we had made the right choice in staying here. The reception area is lovely and check in was very quick and easy. When we checked in, we were told that our room had been upgraded because it was the first night of our honeymoon and when we entered the room, it was beautiful, huge and with a view overlooking the runway. There was even a letter and a plate of chocolates left in the room for us. This was totally unexpected but a really lovely touch and it really added something special to our stay, so thank you so much.
As for the night, we chose to eat in the Vanda restaurant and the food was incredible!
In the room, the bed was incredibly comfortable and even though we overlooked the runway, we didn't hear the planes at all.
We will definitely stay at this hotel again and can not recommend it highly enough!

This is a great hotel staff couldn't be more helpful we arrived early hours off Monday morning 1am. We had to leave for an early morning flight and where kindly upgraded would really recommend this hotel most definitely recommend this hotel

A good experience, taking the hassle out of having to worry about travel to the airport for an early morning flight. Excellent dinner in the a la carte restaurant. The only downside was noisy air conditioning, which had to be turned off resulting in an airless room

Great location for the airport. Staff work hard to create a less airport like atmosphere but it is what it is under all - that a corporate airport impersonal hotel that could be anywhere in the world.

Recommend the Brasserie as food is creative, very moorish and very good staff.

Badly let down by the carpark which is stuck at the back of the hotel with a poorly lit and unclear footpath along with being badly designed, for people walking round to the front of the hotel.

Shortage of lounge area seating, resturants unable to cope, waiters/waitress unable to cope while numerous porters stand around underemployed. Atrium/reception very nice, rooms pleasent but slightly old fashioned. Very convenient for airport, check in desks 5min walk.

Wonderful, helpful, caring staff. Stayed here after our flight was cancelled and they could not have been more accommodating. We looked like a mess and felt very unworthy upon seeing the impressive foyer but all of that faded when we were treated so well.

We always stay here and leave our car whenever we fly from Gatwick, it's such a luxurious, stress free way to start or end your holiday. We usually eat in one of the excellent restaurants, but this time due to an early start we had a couple of drinks and a bar meal and an early night. The night staff gave us a couple of morning calls at 4 am and we walked across the covered walkway straight into 'Departures' How easy is that ?

The room was lovely and everything was spot on except the bed, it was so soft - it was ridiculous. Every time one of us moved the other was woken, we didn't get any sleep and the pillow was awful too. Considering the price this really is not great. I fully understand its difficult to keep everyone happy in terms of beds but we had a terrible night and as we had an early morning flight, the whole purpose for staying was to get a good night sleep prior to departing. Other than the terrible bed - mattress and pillow - everything else was as expected - very good.

One constructive criticism was the TV - It is very slow to get the TV on, you would press and press Menu till eventually it would work. It may be the control unit needed new batteries ?

We have stayed at this hotel several times now the...

We have stayed at this hotel several times now the night before our holiday on a park and fly package. We are always pleased with the service and facilities and friendliness of the staff. The restaurants are also a pleasure to attend. We did have a bit of a hiccup at this last stay, where we would normally leave our luggage in the car to collect the following morning before we fly and just use an overnight bag. This saves us from having to cart heavy bags around unnecessarily, we generally get to keep the keys until the next morning in order to do this. On this stay the key was taken off us even though I explained what I would like to do, when I asked for the key the following morning the receptionist was quite concerned that the car may have already been removed to the off site parking with our luggage still in it. Thank fully it hadn't been but that would've been quite difficult to get back and sorted before our flight was due early that morning. So anyone reading this be aware that you should not hand your keys over if you want to do this but merely keep the car park token until the following morning and then exchange it when you check out.

Two separate stays in a week Poor experience checking in on both occasions. Very slow and didn't initially recognise Platinum Card status. No complimentary drink offered. Executive lounge closed. Charged 12.5 per cent service even though I sat at the bar! Lots of little things that I don't expect with the brand. Noisy air conditioning. Let's the brand down

This really is a tranquil place to stay and relax ...

This really is a tranquil place to stay and relax prior to your holiday. We were met at the hotel entrance by the valet service and our car was taken for safe parking for the duration of our holiday. Reception staff were polite and helpful and we were offered assistance taking our cases to the room. Our room was clean, bright and had a fantastic view over the airport terminal and runway (at extra cost). The room was still perfectly quiet with no noise from adjacent rooms or the neighbouring aircraft. We only had a light snack in one of the restaurants which wasn't cheap but was good, there were other restaurants to try but as we were only there for one night we didn't bother exploring them. The great advantage with this hotel is that it is joined directly to the airport terminal via an internal walkway. After a great night's sleep we were met by a hotel Porter at a prearranged time who assisted us and our cases straight through check out and then onto the terminal. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it's absolutely worthy of its 5 star rating. Many thanks for a brilliant start to our holiday.

Good polite service by competent and professional staff. Overnight stay slightly spoilt by a bed that was too soft and noise from other guests. Still worth staying as only 3 minutes from the North Terminal.

Very pleasant experience ,as usual, we will be back again soon.Nice room with airport view. Good food had in bar, seemed to be less choice than before though, maybe due to refurbishment going on.
