Smooth check in, very helpful staff.

Smooth check in, very helpful staff.

The family room was huge! The travel cot had been made up on our arrival, one less worry!

The runway view was a bonus and added to our 3 daughters' excitement!

The hotel & parking was so convenient, and stress free - it was a fantastic start & end to our holiday!

Will recommend and take up this service again in the future. Thank you!

Room was ok although nothing that a Premier Inn doesn't offer. Bar and restaurant areas are nice.
Meet & Greet a bit haphazard - no idea where you park the cars but mine was clearly sat under a tree for a week judging by the bird mess and tree sap all over the bonnet and the soft top.

Good clean rooms -plenty of restaraunts (3) several bars! Has its own car parks and a walkway over to the airport -so you don't get wet!! Gets busy -but it's big enoughto cope! Happy to recommend !

When we arrived hotel porter got a trolley , loaded and took our cases to reception whilst the car firm checked and took the car. After efficient, friendly check in we took our overnight flight bags to the room and then retrived the cases from reception and through the linked corridor we checked in our cases for the flight. Seemless and no stress, left the rest of the evening to chill. Much better than the sofitel South terminal experience, we struggled a bit with our cases last year. Rooms really clean and modern. The only negative, the prices in the bar and restaurant as expected were high, but we would definitely stay again

A bit clinical but overall clean, efficient and the food was good. Had to queue for a while to check in, but generally it was a decent place to stay and I would come back again if I had another early flight.

Arrived early morning hours to find that we did not have the 3 single beds for myself, daughter and granddaughter, as booked and on checking with reception found they did not have any other singles they could put into bedroom with the queen bed. We were then offered 2 separate rooms on the 8th floor which were extremely comfortable and more than compensated for the original error. Apart from the time to sort out the problem we found that the location was very convenient and the noise level was minimal considering the closeness to the airport. We would certainly use them again.

Location was great for the north terminal. Check in was easy however I complained to the concierge that there was a long black hair on the bed sheet. He said he would look into it. On return to the room it was still there. We did not expect the at the Sofitel.

Our arrival at reception was warm, friendly and efficient. We had concerns about the airport parking we had booked alongside the room, but these were quickly alleviated and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that the parking booked exceeded our expectations. The room was beautiful and spacious with a gigantic picture window. The beds were beyond comfortable, meaning our early morning alarm call to go on holiday was somewhat rudely received! Check out could not have been easier, and we were waved on our way with smiles.

The superior rooms are nothing very special and rather small. The ensuite was very basic. However, we had a surprisingly nice meal in the posher restaurant and the waiting staff were all very friendly. The reception staff were also good and phoned to make sure we were happy with the room. I wonder if we should have said no - were we just unlucky with the one allocated?

Pillows not great.
Pan Asian restaurant awful. Spoiled our evening. Not the standard we expect from Sofitel.

Terrible experience staying here before my flight ...

Terrible experience staying here before my flight home. I arrived at the hotel around 9:30. Five check-in agents were on duty, but all were busy checking guests in. I waited. As I waited 3 agents finished with their guests, and left the desk. The fourth available agent finally offered to help me. He was in training, and the other agent helping him had a very hands off did not appear to be approachable. The agent frequently had to ask her questions and bring her back to his computer to see what he was seeing. The process took much longer than it should have.

When I arrived in the room it had a system whereby you needed to insert the room card to get the lights to turn on. This was unfamiliar to me and there was no clear signage indicating what I needed to do.

I then called room service for dinner. The person who answered the phone had a very thick accent and was difficult to understand. I explained to him that I had celiac disease and that I would need a gluten free meal. At that point he went to ask his supervisor whether I could be accommodated. He returned to the call to tell me that they could accommodate me. I began to order the steak, but asked whether the fries would be gluten free (whether they were fried in the same fryer as gluten containing things), he again left the call to confirm. He returning saying that they would be. At this point things got very confusing, because I thought he was saying something about corn flakes, but I couldn't tell with his accent. I just repeated my order and that it needed to be gluten free. I also order a glass of wine, and creme brulee. Again the man had to confirm that it was gluten free. At the end of the call he said that my meal would take about 45 minutes, which seemed long but I didn't mind waiting.

While I waited for my food I began to unpack. The garbage in the bathroom had a step to open it. It was broken. There was a shelf in the shower that was also broken. Despite being a luxury hotel there were no robes available. The TV had only local channels, no movies available. The binder in the room also did not include a breakfast menu or menus for the restaurants in the hotel. There were no plugs near the bed to charge my phone.

Eventually my food arrived. The steak was very over cooked. The creme brulee had fruit on top that made the sugar melt. The side of the creme brulee was covered in granulated sugar. There was also a dish of cornflakes which are not gluten free in a plastic wrapped bowl. I was exhausted and didn't make a big deal of it. Overall the food was so bad that I didn't end up finishing most of it. Also- the small table in the room had such a wobble that I couldn't cut my steak on it. I had to move my tray over to the desk.

Overnight the room was fine. The bed was passable. Definitely no where near the best hotel mattress I've slept on. In the morning I could hear every person that walked by in the hall. The shower had good water pressure but the water was dangerously hot. I needed to put the gauge at well into the blue section to get reasonable warm water.

There was supposed to be an easy drop off check out process, but there was no information in the room to indicate what needed to be done, so I checked out at the desk. This process was easy and quick. The desk agent was very friendly.

All in all the hotel is very good but I would advise everyone if you charge anything from the main bar area to check what they are signing for we had to get our drinks bill changed 3 times before it was correct.

I paid for my room many months in advance and the rate I had was nonrefundable, even if I did not show up. My reservation on the internet site confirmed payment to my specific credit card. However, when I checked in I was told that Sofitel had erroneously erased my credit card information and that they had no record of my prepayment. I went to my room, downloaded the internet reservation and went back to the front desk to show that I had prepaid and that nothing further was due at check out. I received several conflicting explanations why I was not charged (for example, even though the room was nonrefundable, Sofitel will not charge the credit card until three days before arrival in case I wish to cancel the reservation). I went to the manager on duty and she could not explain how their website showed that I had prepaid my hotel but that it was erroneous. The next morning, when I checked out, I was told that the hotel confirmed that my room was prepaid and that there was no need for me to pay. I left thinking I wold not be charged twice for the room. I was wrong. A charge of over $220.00 was posted to my credit card several days after I returned. I double paid for one room. I was given highly erroneous information. I was deceived at check out. And, I had actually paid for an upgraded room and lounge access - which was closed during my stay. Well done Sofitel. Let's see if this comment appears on your lofty website.

We were very lucky to be upgraded as a 'Guest of the Day' to a lovely room on the 8th floor with a complimentary minibar and access to the private lounge. Our checkin, upgrade, stay and checkout were all great. A lovely hotel with very nice, helpful professional staff.

Very convenient to airport and comfortable. But not cheap. Also just want a quick drink before an early night but bar is hopelessly understaffed and a pint is seven quid (with a supposedly discretionary drive charge).

All I needed as a travel weary guest, room spacious, air conditioning good, bottled water provided etc etc.
I had one issue. I do not use lifts and so getting to and from my room was laborious. OK my problem but the route out of the hotel without using a lift was not marked and I struggled to find the right door.... ah well perhaps it was jet lag.

Overall a good experience. Why is a service charge automatically added without asking for permission? Service charges should be discretionary and given for good service, not compolsory! In my opinion this a shocking practice and should be re-evaluated as soon as possible. We never used the WiFi so why did we need it give it a rating, seems rather silly there isn't a N/A option?

Poor

Poor
Apart from the helpful chap on arrival with the car who helped with the cases the stay was the worst I have had at this hotel.
Reception had no experienced staff on so check in took ages
The room was tired and put up bed barely had a mattress with food lying on for my ten year old
Dinner in the Chinese was terrible
Tried to complain but no one was interested

On checkout I mentioned this but all I got was how much my bill was and you already had my card details so everything was fine for me to go catch my flight

Asked to speak to duty manager and told they were busy and would not be free for about an hour.

Next trip needing 3 rooms for family we would be better off in the premier inn if this is the service now offered.
