Just spent Christmas at Tilly's Cottage. Lakelovers are a nice company to deal with and the cottage is my favourite in the Lake District (I've stayed there 3 times). For walkers it is in perfect location and it has the best views I've had in a holiday cottage.

Just back from Boxwood Cottage in Troutbeck. A fantastic cottage well equipped and very warm and cosy. Will definitely visit the cottage again. A credit to its owners and the lakelovers team.

My wife Kath myself and Poppy our Patterdale terrier stayed at Rose Cottage at woodland Coniston 2 miles from Broughton in furness cumbria 24 nov to 1st dec 2017 in a quiet and peaceful area. The cottage itself was very picturesque with a babbling stream running through the garden inside we had 2 wood burning fires all the mod cons in the kitchen 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms a snug/games room with family games full central heating, utility room everything to hand that we needed ,we brought dog bowls but they were supplied a torch but was supplied everything we thought we would need what we thought would not be there was all supplied ,the owners and Lakelovers really thought of everything to make our stay very pleasant we didn't really take enough pictures to show people how good it was. To be honest and fair we don't think we will find another cottage to live up to Rose Cottages standard Kath and I would like to thank the Owners and Lakelovers for a stress free and relaxing holiday

Just returned from a lovely week staying at Camellia Cottage in Crook. Everything was perfect with the property. Lovely quiet location down a little lane yet only a matter of 15-20 minutes from lively Bowness. The cottage was absolutely spotless and in terms of equipment nothing was lacking. Highly recommended.

Booked twice with Lakelovers this year and stayed at infinity at Browhead . Lovely property and Lakelovers have been very helpful throughout our dealings with them.

We stayed at Idle Mill 1 in the center of Ambleside between 1st and 8th October. The property was modern, stylish, clean, well equipped, and came with comprehensive information supplied by the owner. It matched exactly it's 5 star rating, and is highly recommended.

We enjoyed the excellent restaurants in Ambleside, and of course the stunning scenery.

Arrived at "A River Runs By" at Staveley at 4:45 for 5:00pm entry only to find that the property wasn't cleaned and clearly hadn't been for a very long time. Absolutely filthy! Spider infested as well. Grimy, greasy kitchen, months of built up grime and dirt everywhere. Contacted Lakelovers who sent two cleaners and told us they'd be done in an hour. It was so disgusting even the cleaners were horrified and it took them three hours to get this run down tiny little cottage clean whilst we sat outside in the cold. Bed was like sleeping on concrete and we didn't get a decent sleep in 7 nights and going home exhausted and bitterly disappointed. Wouldn't ever book through Lakelovers ever again. Absolutely disgraceful. Don't believe what you read in the description of the property - the courtyard seating is a dilapidated timber table and chairs in the driveway shared between two cottages. Alfresco? The blackberry infested balcony barely big enough for a small table and two chairs. Not sure if two people can join them. Luxurious leather seating? Tiny little two seater and a single. No smart TV. No dryer. Tiny dishwasher, and a fridge that had months of ice built up in the freezer. Parking? Tiny little lane that was regularly blocked by delivery trucks preventing our escape. And if you manage to squeeze your car into the "courtyard" forget about getting out forwards! No chance - you have to back out with my wife guiding me carefully between the stone walls. The largeclarge/boat, the massive trailer andland derelict car make it impossible to turn around to drive out. Anything other than a small car and who knows where you can park.
For the price asked it's seriously poor value for money. The one star is because it's located in a lovely part of the country. Otherwise would give nil.

Boxtree Cottage
The nicest cottage we have ever stayed in, characterful, beautifully and tastefully restored and furnished, it is equipped with everything you could need - more a home away from home. The beds are supremely comfortable, the log burner efficient, the roll top bath a luxurious way to soak away the aches and pains of a long day's walking. And a wonderful local pub a mere 100 yards up the road, serving delicious food in a cosy setting. Just perfect!

We have just enjoyed an excellent fortnight holiday at 'the Manor' in Windermere.

The property which was extremely clean, spacious and well appointed was beautifully situated with distant views of Lake Windermere, which I would like to visit again.

We reserved 'the Manor' through Lakelovers Lake District Cottages, who were extremely professional and well organised; the staff were helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend them and would have no hesitation in using them again.

Lakelovers were a pleasure to deal with and the Lancashire Rose lodge situated at White Cross Bay was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the stunning Lake District and we utilised the excellent bus service available. Would definitely deal with Lakelovers again.

Well equipped cottage comfortable bed and Settee nice to put feet up when watching TV at night Lovely location Troutbeck very central. Would stay in Troutbeck again but different cottage.

Rented Lakeside View in Bowness through Lakelovers. Property was dirty and we found alot of dog hairs in one of the beds. When I complained to ghee they suggested finding a property next time that does not accept dogs!

Just returned from a fabulous holiday staying at Western Belle, Waterfoot Holiday Park, Ullswater. Lovely and well equipped cottage - very tastefully decorated and furnished. Received a lovely welcome from reception staff. Holiday site is well maintained. A trip on the Ullswater steamers is well worth it, we also visited Aira Force and Glenridding. Lovely tea room in Pooley Bridge - Granny Dowbekins - fabulous cakes. Loved the fact we could walk into Pooley Bridge from the cottage very easily.

Beautiful Barn, everything you could possibly want has been thought about, can't wait to book again

Spent a week in Greystones Cottage near Satterthwaite May bank holiday week 2019. Booking agents Lakelovers very good. Cottage comfortable but dated and tired. Owner in denial over frequent dog fouling by neighbours dog in Greystones garden. Very unpleasant for our grand children. Could not stay there again.

I booked a cottage with Lake Lovers back in September 2017 because their beautiful website lead me to believe they were a professional outfit. Do not be fooled! When I was searching, the website was not filtering dog friendly properties properly, so before I went any further I called to check if the property I had chosen was dog friendly. I was reassured it was without any hesitation, so went on to confirm the booking. When my email confirmation arrived there was still no mention of the dog, so I called again and was reassured again a note had been put on the system and that dogs were allowed. 4 months passed, and I called the office to confirm the date of the final payment and mentioned again about the dog not being mentioned on any of my paperwork. The man on the phone said he would check and come back to me. I heard nothing so called again and this time I was informed that dogs were not actually allowed and that it had been an error on their website all along!!! I was totally shocked, annoyed and disappointment. I informed them of this website glitch back in September, it was now 31st Jan. They have no idea what they are doing and are completely unprofessional. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Stay well away if you value your holidays!

UPDATE:

Location Location Hawkshead is a lovely Village, we stayed in Little Spring apartment which is very good. Hawkshead has 4 pubs all are very good (tried them all) lovely Deli (bath buns) they are great had one almost every day and supermarket plus many more lovely shops. There are some lovely walks from Hawkshead, we only use are car once & the regular bus service once. The rest of the time we just enjoyed the lovely walks, with the beautiful views, took are picnic with us & found a lovely spot which is not difficult by one of the smaller Lakes. It was the first time that I've been to the Lake District, it won't be my last!!!!! If you haven't been I would recommend that you do Lakelovers has alot to offer enjoy

Had a fantastic 2 week break at Bracken Ground. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to get away for some m7ch needed rest and relaxation after a stressful year.
The grounds are so tranquil and Beanie loved exploring the garden trails. The sauna/hot tub were amazing especially after a long walk.
The house is immaculate,comfortable and very well equipped, they even provided a well thought welcome basket with everything you need to get started.
If we hadn't already booked for next year we would definitely book again...so see you 2021

Just returned from our second stay at Lanterns in Grasmere. Located just outside Grasmere this cottage is only a short walk from the centre but more importantly only a short walk to many other walks which suit the casual walker or the more demanding and adventurous hiker. The cottage is still as fresh as it was 12 months ago and with exceptional facilities in the cottage it is highly likely that this won't be our last visit.

Just returned from a week at The Cats Bield in Keswick. This cottage is outstanding in both comfort and equipment. The Owners have put a lot of love and care into this cottage.
I go to Keswick every year and this is one of, the best properties that I have stayed in. Fortunately I had already booked it for next year.

Amazing little week with my husband and two children. Lakelovers were brilliant, easy to book and kept in great contact after.

The House we rented, 1 Underhowe, was perfect. It was high spec, high quality, spacious and clean. The price reflected that, but we were happy to get what we paid for.

We recently stayed at Brackenrigg Cottage in Crook near Windermere. It was perfect for our family of 4. Lovely quiet location, right next to a pub. The log burner was gorgeous for the colder nights. Highly recommend.

Be prepared to lose pretty much a whole day on check in. The access to property times are extremely late and not advertised on their website.

Hillhead in Ambleside. Excellent place to stay. House v clean inside, lots of extra touches which were appreciated, (boring stuff like bin bags and washing up liquid). Loved the log burning stove. Plenty of room for 8 people. Kitchen especially well equipped, wanted for nothing. Plenty of natural light in living room and kitchen with wonderful views.
House at the top of Sweden Bridge Lane which is very steep, so if you are on foot you have been warned!

We stayed at Jasmine Cottage and had a great holiday. The cottage was beautiful, lots of character and a pretty little garden. Everything was provided and the little touches here and there such as hand soap and cotton wool were lovely. Would thoroughly recommend

Have used Lakelovers many times - properties are great - service is great too. Occasionally, the website can make properties appear slightly better but this is just photography. Would use the company again and again.

OUTSTANDING! We couldn't have had a better experience staying with Lakelovers. The wonderful selection of cottages, super clean property that we stayed in and friendly staff with all the local knowledge that we could have wished for, made out two week stay in the Lake District, truly memorable. We will certainly be back to stay with Lakelovers in the future.

Lovely apartment in bowness on Windermere close to Windermere village, lake Windermere and coniston, not far from Ambleside and Keswick.

Our recent holiday at Coniston was excellent. Lakelovers were professional and they provided a great service. Their cottage was as described, in a great location and all the amenities we needed. Would certainly use Lakelovers again and book the same cottage

Hedgehog Hideaway, Lindale.
We had a fantastic 4 day break here this week. The cottage was immaculately clean throughout, with a beautiful garden.
A proper country cottage living room and bedrooms, with very modern bathroom and kitchen/diner & central heating throughout.
Located perfectly within a few miles drive to Windermere and all the other beautiful towns and villages.
Don't miss this one folks, it's a real gem !!!

Had a great week at Priory Lodge in Windermere. Dog friendly and well situated for walks in the area.

Holiday booked for months then phone call to say property no longer being let out. I would have expected them to offer a different property but as these were more expensive this was not the case and I had to have a refund and now try and find a property at short notice for a large group.

Booked 2 self catering holidays with this company. Stayed at Redwood in Ambleside. Very good standard of property. Staff were polite on the phone when had to ring about any issues. My only bug bare is the "add ons" when booking ( booking fees, cleaning bonds, the company's charity of the year and credit card charges.) All on top of the property charge. I know this seems to be standard with other letting companies. Maybe incorporating these fees into the cost of the rental figures may be more appropriate for comparison purposes.

Booked "Satterthwaite Farmhouse" for a week to take my 3 adult children plus 2 grandchilden and dog for a week in the Lakes. The Farmhouse was beautifully furnished and very comfortable, providing plenty of space to spread out in. Fully lived up to the website pictures. Location is away from the bustle of the main centres but these were easily accessable.
Lakelovers were also very helpful and friendly on the occassions I called for information / help.

We have just spent a lovely week in Loughrigg Cottage, near Ambleside. It's a very comfortable house, very well equipped for the 9 of us, in a great location, and we will probably return next year. It would get 5 stars and we would definitely return next year if the rental started on a Saturday, as Friday is a bad day to start.

Why do all the Lakeland rental agencies start the bookings for the majority of their properties on a Friday? It is the worst day of the week to travel - the motorways are at their busiest - and it means that most working people have to take 6 days out of their valuable holiday allocation, rather than the 5 for a weekend start. If you feel the same as all of us then please complain to the agencies and try to get more rentals starting on a Saturday, as was always the case.

Lovely stay at 1 Hart Head Barn, Rydal.
Great accommodation with all our needs catered for - fabulous views, nicely decorated and a lovely hot tub. Really great location being well situated for many walks so the car could be left at the property. Really close proximity to the lovely town of Ambleside and Windermere.

Beautiful well-equipped cottage in a lovely location. - Rose Cottage at Woodland -Very peaceful & secluded garden with a small stream. Coniston was only 15/20 mins away by car. Fabulous area & cottage if you want a rural retreat but close to wherever you wish to go. Booking online at lakelovers was easy , the description was very accurate . Fabulous place to take a holiday .

I'd like to start by stating that I have never left a negative review, ever. However, the customer service received has been so terrible that I feel no other choice. We stayed at a property in Grasmere 3 weeks before lockdown. An expensive camera was left in the property and we contacted Lakelovers immediately, informing them of the exact cupboard the camera had been left. No communication received from the customer service team. We chased, called and emailed. We were told each time we called that someone would check but received no calls or emails back. We continued to call and email until lockdown happened. We understand and appreciate that during lockdown nothing could be done so we patiently waited until the beginning of July when they were allowed to reopen. Again we called multiple times and were told someone would check. It has taken them a further two weeks to inform us that the camera is not in the property. If this is the case it means the camera has been stolen by someone else that has stayed in the property or a member of staff. We don't actually believe someone has stolen the camera, based on the lack of care during this process we actually believe that the cupboard in question simply hasn't been checked. I have never experience such constantly poor customer service, a company who clearly only cares about the money and not the customers. While planning to return to the Lake District we certainly won't be booking through Lakelovers again.

Booked Pereguine at Stonecliffe through Lakelovers. Excellent service from Lakelovers staff.
The apartment was fabulous and a credit to the owners.
Beautiful Victorian building retaining dome of the original features but done to a very high spec in a contempory design.
Would not hesitate to book with Lakelovers again and will certainly be looking to stay at Stonecliff again in either this or one of the other apartments. A have an allocated parking space and is I an excellent location for restaurants etc and within easy walking distance of Bowness.
Walks from the door also. Biskey Howe, Post Knott, Brantfell & School Knott.

We stayed at Candleberry Cottage in Ambleside, which is divided into apartments. The property was delightful with spacious rooms and a fab kitchen. The village is a five minute walk down a very steep hill, which can be a bit of a struggle but there are two pubs halfway down! Easy access to Grasmere and Windermere. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week

Have used Lakelovers for several years and have never been let down. Cottages have been clean & tidy and pretty much as described. Happy to recommend to friends.

Just returned from a lovely week at Smithy Cottage in Bowland Bridge. We found the cottage to be very comfortable, clean, very well equipped and an ideal base for exploring the lake district. There is plenty of off-road car parking space at this property which is definitely an advantage.

At the time of booking, our party consisted of three adults and a dog and Smithy Cottage has more than enough space to accommodate a party of that size. The cottage is pet friendly but it is worth noting that the garden wall which runs parallel to the river does have gaps in it so is not completely enclosed. A cautionary note if you like to let your dog run loose in the garden. The garden was also fairly regularly visited by sheep - whilst lovely to see, not necessary ideal if you have an unsupervised dog running around!

Overall, an excellent property and a great place to stay.

We stayed at Take 5 in Ambleside for a week at the end of August. The house was beautiful, spacious and modern with lovely views from the balcony area and master bedroom. There was everything we needed including tea & coffee, cooking oils and the basics you need for cooking. It is a few minutes walk into Ambleside so perfect if you don t want to use your car whilst away. We loved it so much I have recommended it to family who have also booked for later in the year. We will definitely return. The team at Lake lovers were so helpful.

Had a wonderfull week staying at Greystones, Force Forge. The property is fantastic. Everything you could wish for and in a lovely location . We just keep returning| Booking is very easy through Lakelovers website too.

Had a great holiday at Greengarth, Keswick a lakelovers home. Beautifully furnished and comfortable. Good off street parking, DOG FRIENDLY, and sleeps 5 people. comfortable beds, tvs in bedrooms. Bi fold doors to the garden which is enclosed. Near shops and bars etc. no need to use the car.

We were not impressed by this Cottage company. They are ok whilst taking your booking but otherwise you get extremely poor service. Following a visit to the office to complain about problems in the cottage we were asked to send an email with everything listed. They have never even replied and that was some weeks ago. In our experience not a company to use in future.

We have stayed at Honeysuckle Cottage in Bowness over the same couple of weeks for the past 2 years. Lovely cottage in a great location. Would definitely stay here again.

GET HOLIDAY INSURANCE IF YOU STILL DECIDE TO BOOK WITH THEM.

With COVID hitting, they had the opportunity to refund us for our booking, and they chose not to. We politely but continuously requested a refund, and finally had to rebook for 2021, when we were hoping we could cancel and recoup for then.

They claimed there was nothing they could do, but lo and behold after several court rulings against similar holiday companies I was told the owner of the company sold the property so we could have our refund.

Such a stressful waste of time when an immediate refund would have garnered them a lot of goodwill and company longevity. Was my first and last booking.

Just returned from Bracken Ground. A beautiful property in a stunning location. The property caters for every need. Very well equipped lovely hot tub sauna and grounds. Very well maintained and a very generous welcome pack. Would definitely stay again. Highly recomended.

We stayed in a lovely cottage through lakelovers. The communication with us was really good. We had texts from them making sure everything was ok. I will be booking our next holiday with them. We had a problem with the keys to the cottage (my daughter went home with them,) the lady who took the call was really helpful and sorted it out for me .see you soon

Had a lovely weeks stay at Abbots Reading Mews 2 cottage. Cottage was modern,spotlessly clean and in a lovely quiet location. Nice place to stay if you want peace and quiet and some nice walks from the cottage. Good pubs nearby which serve good home cooked meals.
Would highly recommend this cottage and ease of booking through Lakelovers.

Excellent accommodation in a most convenient location

Booked 2 Riverside Cottage through Lakelovers, everything was as listed on the website. Great location close to the village, 5 to 10 minutes walk from the centre. The cottage had everything required for a holiday away from home. Parking outside the front door, lovely long garden for the dog. For a couple it's perfect.

Had an amazing week at Roger Ground House in Hawkshead. So much thought has gone into providing everything we could have possibly needed for ages ranging from 12 months to 80 years old. It's a beautiful house in a stunning location.

Had a wonderful time at The Old Beams in Ambleside, property had everything we could have asked for, loved the reclining sofa. This is the fifth time we've booked through Lakelovers, have recommended them to friends and family.

Do not recommend Lakelovers, we rented a house in New Sawrey with them this summer. The location was good and the kitchen well equiped, but the positives stop there. The house was not as newly done as shown on pictures, with stains on the carpet, but it would be ok if not for the foist smell coming from 2 of the 3 rooms and the fact that the rooms were only superficially cleaned, it was filthy behind the beds and the radiators had a lot of dust accumulated. I actually had to clean mould from the wall behind the bed in one of the bedrooms. I sent an e-mail to complain, which they replied quickly, and offered to send a cleaner. The cleaner came but unfortunately didn t clean behind any of the beds or the radiators, they just vacuumed around the beds. We were offered a discount voucher for future rentals, but given the poor level of cleanliness we would not risk renting with them again.

We have had many holidays over the years with Lakelovers and stayed in several properties and they never disappoint . All properties are clean , well equipped and furnished to a high standard - we wouldn t stay with anyone else !
Our latest stay was at Felldale, Patterdale. A beautiful bungalow - Just perfect

We were very happy with the service we received from Lake Lovers. We stayed at Underheron. It was very well equipped and clean. The location was perfect being an easy walk into Grasmere along a lovely footpath but very peaceful. It was also handy for the A591 for travelling around the Lake District. It is definitely the nicest cottage we have stayed at in the Lake District. We will definitely be back.

We had a fabulous family get together at Riverside in Troutbeck and would highly recomend it as the perfect venue for a relaxng holiday.
Riverside provided us with first class accommodation and a wonderful idyllic location.
It was beautifully equipped to a very high standard and the expansive grounds and outdoor spaces were perfect for both adults and children alike.
Everyone agreed it was somewhere we would all love to return to.

Had a fantastic week at Nest Barn just outside Keswick.
The accommodation and location are simply fantastic. A quiet and comfortable barn conversion that will easily accommodate two couples in the excellent bedrooms. The very friendly owner Angela, made us feel at home with our 9 month old golden retriever puppy who was secure in the gated area around the barn.
We hope to return again in the near future.
Highly recommended by us.

Booked a great cottage through Lakelovers (columbine cottage in Hawkeshead) I would recommend this company, easy to book with and great service

Just back from a week at The Heights in Bowness on Windermere. Fantastic property. Very well furnished and spotless. Had one minor problem with the dishwasher but one phone call had the Customer Service team out. The heights is right on the edge of town but still quiet and private. Two minutes walk to Beatrice Potter attraction and nearest pubs and restaurants. Ten minutes to the Lake and ferries.

First time using Lakelovers for a booking and found them to offer fantastic customer service from first phone call to during our stay, they were professional , friendly and very helpful, i would highly recommend them.

Shocking customer service, the worst I have ever experienced. Lazy staff that can t be bothered to help you over the phone. They ask you if you have checked your emails in a patronising manner rather than trying to deal with the query itself. When pulled up about coming across as patronising they accuse you of being rude and tell you they are going to hang up. Not impressed Also double checked and I had never received the email they said was sent.

We stayed at Church View Cottage in Troutbeck and were so impressed with Lakelovers standards. The cottage was so well kept! Everything was spotless, the beds were delightfully comfortable (such a luxury after a day of walking), and the kitchen well stocked for those who enjoy cooking. The views from the bedrooms were spectacular. We were also treated to local hospitality when one of the neighbors made us homemade jam from the gorgeous blackberries that grow wild on the trails. We've stayed in the Lakes many times before, but I have to say Lakelovers is a step above. We'll definitely rent through them again.

Had a great stay at Ash Cottage in Bowness. The property was comfortable and brilliantly situated. The weather was 'mixed' so having warmth and a really helpful conservatory to peel off the wet layers in were great! When something went wrong...which was entirely our fault...the sympathetic way with which we were treated by the company and the property owner were a testament to them both! I wouldn't hesitate to book with Lakelovers or to return to Ash Cottage!

Booked online, very easy. All the information you need about the accommodation is easy to find. Lakelovers also give you lots of info about the location and recommend places to visit and eat. Brilliant.

Second time we have used Lake Lovers and had a great week. We stayed at Pavement Cottage in Ambleside. Beautifully presented, everything had been thought of. Great location in the heart of the town, yet still secluded and quiet. Lovely spot to head out to Loughrigg, Wansfell or wherever takes your fancy. We will be back later in the year I have no doubt.

Just returned from a fabulous week at Hawkshead Hall. A perfect setting for our extended family to enjoy peaceful walks, and relax in the gorgeous gardens of the property. Added bonus of a games room, which the family loved. Only a short stroll from Hawkshead village, but to be honest, the property was so gorgeous, I was happy sitting in the garden enjoying the sound of the bubbling stream. Heaven!

Stayed at Middle Wray cottage. Fabulous 'upside down' cottage with stunning views in a wonderful tranquil location. Property beautifully presented by hosts, Wendy & Bill.

Have just returned from a holiday in The Garden Cottage at Coniston what a fabulous holiday home. Everything you could wish for. Beautiful setting overlooking Coniston Water (see photo of view from the rear decking). Close to the Sun Inn for drinks and food if you did not want to use the excellent newly re-appointed kitchen. Close to the village of Coniston. The whole property is a credit to its' owners. Ideal venue to explore to wonderful Lake District.

Lakelovers were a pleasure to deal with when booking our apartment in the Lake District. From the moment I called up to book my stay at Skylark in Stonecliffe Windermere I could tell I was dealing with a professional company. Everyone I spoke to was very polite and any payments made were followed up immediately with a confirmation email. I wouldn't hesitate to book through Lakelovers again and would highly recommend them to family and friends.

Fantastic company offering first-rate holiday accommodation. We stayed at Satterthwaite Farmhouse; it was incredible and perfectly suited to a large family. We stayed at Meadowside in Near Sawrey from 10th December. Fantastic house, plenty of parking space, immaculately decorated, all mod cons with everything working and in a beautiful location. It was even decorated for Christmas with a tree and other decorations. Would definitely recommend.

We have just come back from a lovely holiday in the Lake District, staying at the Abbots Reading Suite cottage, a one bedroom cottage in the countryside with its own private courtyard. It was well equipped and clean, and handy for visiting the different towns, walks and local attractions. We would recommend it to anyone who enjoys walking, wildlife, and the Lake District.

We have just returned from our 2nd stay at Brooklands in Little Langdale. A fabulous property - ticks all the boxes. Location is perfect for a tranquil and peaceful setting with plenty of walks from the door. The cottage is equipped with everything you could need and is warm, comfortable and cosy. Will definitely be returning next year.

Stayed at Pye How in Chapel Stile over the Christmas week. Fabulous location and a very pretty cottage. However aside from it being a little neglected and tired the cleanliness of the cottage left a lot to be desired. There is no telephone connection at the house and so we were unable to report this to the office in person until two days after taking residence. Whilst there was an offer of a housekeeper, by then we were well settled in, with all of our belongings around, for our Christmas break and so declined. The oven ruined a number of baking items (it was running too hot) that I did on Christmas Eve though with that warning Xmas dinner was managed ok. The extractor fan directly above the hob was absolutely filthy. Broken glass was found in one of the baking dishes in the cupboard and the cupboard where the wine glasses were stored was thick of dust as was the cover on the cot we hired.
I have stayed with Lakelovers a number of times. However whilst they dealt with my written complaint promptly I do not feel that there was any real concern for the issues that we had to endure. I would be very reluctant to book with them in the future.

Been to this cottage several times, centrally located for walking, shopping and loads of restaurants close at hand, some of which are dog friendly.
Interior of cottage of a very high standard, well equipped also private parking which is a big must in this area. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a week at Macan-Mitchell Wyke Bay. The accommodation was clean and brand new. Had everything we needed. Right next to the ferry to Bowness. All the walks were on our side of the lake. Accommodation faces the lake with balcony view of the lake and moored boats. Dogs welcome. Didn't need to move the car all week. Had a fantastic time walking. Would highly recommend.

Had a great week at Ecclerigg Cottage, there were 3 of us so 2 Bathrooms were ideal. The cottage is spacious with an excellent new Kitchen. Parking outside the door and a flat walk into Ambleside, would come back again.

We rented Brantside in Ambleside and had a wonderful experience. The cottage was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped - it felt more like a home than a holiday let. It was lovely to see the mountains from our windows and then go walking among them!

Ghyll Foot Cottage in Ambleside.....

First class holiday. Lakelovers were very helpful, and i would definitely book with them in the future. Cottage very well equipt with everything you could possibly require, from making a salad to cooking a full roast dinner. Very cosy & comfortable. Stairs a bit slippery under foot, but other than that fantastic. Wonderful location, right in the centre of Ambleside. Near to a beautiful waterfall, and walk. A nice walk down to Lake Windermere. The Wateredge inn is fantastic for a drink by the lake, wonderful views.

Just had a week at Wreay Barn over looking Ullswater. Great location with fabulous views and easy to access the local area. Would recommend this for anyone who wishes to get a taste of the out door life.

Lakelovers are fine when it's going well but terrible when there are snags and having used the company several times we found out the hard way.
Our rental did not have central heating on our arrival. From comments in the visitors book and notes left by other guests this was an ongoing problem. I checked the boiler and the last service sticker was 2015 three years out of date. The maintenance staff alleged to be unaware of the problem.
3 days later the boiler engineer came to fix the job but failed to leave the key in the safe box on leaving hence we were locked out. Complicated by Lakelovers phones being down. We eventually got our keys back but a very stressful experience. There were other faults in the property and I asked 3 times for a manager to call.
Finally I had to call and the supervisor Emma thought being locked out was funny.
I've made a complaint but it has been a dreadful experience and ruined our holiday when it should have easily been dealt with.
Don't book with Lakelovers.

Just spent a week staying at The Old Barn Meerwood,ambleside,absolutely lovely,excellent position for central lakes,all facilities,plenty of room,plenty of [ know problem] parking,few minutes from ambleside and a few minutes from windermere and bowness.Will certainly stay again.

Stayed at Honeywood House in Grasmere. Absolutely superb. Great service from Lakelovers. Thank you. Will definitely use them again over others.

Have just returned from our 4th year of visiting Millerbeck near Ambleside. Great space for single friends (or 2 couples) with 2 en-suite bedrooms, a large kitchen and a very comfortable sitting room. Lovely quiet location away from the traffic of Ambleside but only a short stroll through the park to all the facilities of town. Numerous walks from the door. Good place to stay for people who enjoy walking by day and then having the choice of a comfortable evening in or visiting the cinemas and restaurants in town.

We had a fantastic stay in a wonderful property Ambleside View at the end of September. A beautifully appointed flat with great views across Ambleside and beyond. We had a very small maintenance problem which was fixed within 10 mins of reporting it. Amazing. Definitely would recommend

A fantastic week in Jessica's Cottage from Lakelovers, excellent for exploring and walking within the Lake District.

We had a great week at Hunters Moon. It's a lovely, spacious house in a beautiful location. We wouldn't hesitate in using Lakelovers again.
