RV space: Here's what should be. Not particularly cozy but ok. We were told by check in that a grizly bear went around.

Heavily populated yet quiet. Easy place for a family camp.
Everything ok, but the trains on the transit are the horror. There is an unrestricted level crossing on which the trains honk at night. Horrible.
Nice place. The showers have low pressure, but they're nice and warm
Perfect location but the service was horrible. The shower room was renoed from previous year but the design of short paticition board allowing the water splashing from the neighbouring shower and the space outside of the shower was always flooded. The shower curtain was too long and bottom of the curtain was so gross that I don't even want to touch curtain. The washrooms beside the camping site are always dirty and the supplies such as toilet paper were out the whole day. It is our third years in a row to this site. Won't come back next year.
This was one of my favorite stays in Glacier. Don't worry about the no bonfire sites, you don't need a fire to enjoy the outdoors!
We've frequented this campground for the past decade for it's location as a base camp for surrounding activities, but with all the very young Parks Canada staff it's maintained very poorly. The bathroom in our loop still was
filthier than an outhouse with one toilet still out of service after 4 years. When questioned about it we were told it's hard to find a plumber?..really?
Another big issue is the transient campers that walk in off the highway to squat in campsites while the campers are away, this happened last week and they couldn't evict the transient as it's "apparently" illegal to enter a tent as it's "apparently" considered a dwelling even though it's wasn't their property to begin with.
Another constant problem we encountered was with alot of Asian folk completely disregarding policies and the respect of other campers and bringing electric rice cooker into the bathrooms and plugging them in. This is not only utterly disgusting having them sitting on the floor of a filthy bathroom but also incredibly dangerous with fear of electrocution while washing up. Mentioning this to park staff did apparently nothing to rectify the problem.
Far too many very young staff that honestly had very little common sense to take care of matters properly.
But still a beautiful location, just night and day compared to campgrounds like Tunnel Mountain in Banff.
Close to Jasper town and on the banks of Athabasca River.
This was to be our last ski trip we stayed for 3 days even saved by a crew of workers repairing the road as our truck and RV were stuck they towed us back on to the road.We have a 5 year old little girl named Hope Alan passed away July 8th 2020.We are forever grateful for the wonderful memories.
Thank you Katherine and Hope
Very large overflow camping. Mittem in the forest. Always two places next to each other. No fire possible. No playground. Beautiful walks on the river. A dream ..... aaaa the train at night is very very laur especially heard ... Per train 4 times ... take earplugs and stay one night.
We barely got any sleep. The trains go pass all night and are very loud. We booked in to stay for few nights but unfortunately had to check out after the first night.
They took our bowl of water because it was a bear hazard crazy Canadians
Beautiful campsite not far from Lake Louise center. Secured camping from wildlife, hot showers, shelters to cook in.
Good camping, just could improve on toilet facilities.
It was a good campground. The sites are somewhat spaced apart but could be better. Google maps has some street view options for helping to find a good campsite. The restrooms were not in the greatest shape but they were still usable.
Clean campground facilities and great hiking trails around the campground...loved the Bow River Loop!
Definitely one of the best campgrounds I've been to
Terrible. The park administration went through my belongings and confiscated my food and beverages because I didn't put my SEALED cooler in my car while I was out for a walk. This was under the guise of leaving attractants for bears. I'm not joking. There's also an electric fence around the perimeter and hundreds of people camping there every weekend. When I explained to the park ranger that bears don't like crowds, she threatened to evict me for not complying with the policies. They also ask you to put out your fires after 11 pm. If you want a lame, over-policed and hostile camping experience- camp here.
Really enjoyed our tent camping stay. Good facilities and electric fence kept the Bears out. Bull elk in rut while there around Labor Day.
After adventure in Jasper and Banff national Parks this lake proves to be a good camping sight for all nature expeditions.
The fire pit is small. The train goes by around 11pm which brings me memories of my hometown and staying at one of my Auntie's acreages. The bear fence is a good feature to make u feel safer.
Nice sites, clean bathrooms, noisy trains going by 24/7
Beautiful, very busy campsite, easy to access, the pitches are like streets, there are two per street and each takes its side of the street. The toilets and showers are clean. There is a dump station with potable water. Well located for visiting the Lake Louise area. We recommend that you book. The campsite is very well located, you can reach the village or Lake Louise on foot. The path to get to Lake Louise is about 4.5 km uphill, it runs along a beautiful river, I recommend it. If you don't want to walk, there is a bus that stops at the campsite. // Beautiful campsite very busy, easy to access, the pitches are like streets, we meet two per street and everyone takes his side of the street. Lake Louise Campground is located 1 km from the village of Lake Louise, 4 kms from the lake itself, and lies 60 km northwest of the Town of Banff.
Perfect location as far as proximity to Lake Louise and Moraine lake goes.
Clean campground, ideal for a few nights, as it is very central, just to the freight train, which passes right next to it, you have to get used to a little.
This campground was great. We stayed in the tenting area which is protected by the electric fence. The fence didn't give off any buzzing noise which was nice.
The bathrooms and showers were nice but would get somewhat dirty later in the day. I would blame this mostly on the people staying in the campground though and less on the staff at the campground.
There is a train near the campground. We camped on the far side from the train tracks and could still hear the train all day and night. It wasn't too annoying but definitely noticeable.
The unlimited wood is a nice touch that I haven't seen at a campground before. However, Lake Louise seems to be very wet and the wood is not covered. If you have an axe and can split the wood you should be okay making a fire but if you can't split the wood you likely won't have any luck.
Overall I would stay here again.
Hard sided campground is a bit cramped, campers sharing a drive thru site. Lots of rude campers cutting through (with vehicles or walking) half occupied sites, no respect for privacy.
The showers and restroom in the tent soft sided campground are a disgrace. They are filthy, and need of serious repairs and maintenance. Black mould around the showers, the floors are badly stained, the paint on the walls are damaged by moisture and is peeling the drywall and paint in huge chunks. Also there were several stalls with shredded shower curtains and ripped off hooks and door latches.
There are only 5 women's showers for the entire campground of about 60 sites. It is a disgrace to call this a National Park.
Also the power outlets for hair dryers and other electrical use in both the hard and soft sided campgrounds do not work at all.
Basically no COVID measure. They closed loop E and D to reduce capacity. Not sure how that helps with distancing in the other packed loops. The loop I'm staying in has two bathroom, which one of those is closed. The only bathroom open has one (1) stall open for man. The entire loop has one stall only to go to. Bathroom capacity is 2 person only therefore long bathroom lines are the norm. Not even talking about the conditions those are in.
Super quiet, good sized sites. A couple good quick trails in the campground. Great local coffee shop and bakery nearby. Can get to Johnsons Canyon and Takkawka Falls in about a half hour. Highly recommend as a basecamp for sightseeing.
It's a convinient place to camp near Lake Louise but if affordable, the Fairmount by the lake may be a better option in terms of both view and convinience.
Great campsite to go for hikes on Lake Louise and Lake Moraine area, it's divided into two areas, one for Rv's and one for Soft sided tents (which it has an electrical fence around it). It's a big site, fully reservable, you have access to cooking shelters with wood stoves and tables, hot showers and flushing toilets and electrical outlets. There is a shuttle everyday to lake Louise. There is a gas station nearby with a minimarket if you need food/beverages. Check out is at 11:00 am
Amazing views. Campground amenities are good for the tent side. Trailer side is near the train so loud.
Central campground with which Lake Louise can be inquired after a short hike. Unfortunately very loud railroad which goes through at night. Not for people with light sleep
Nice campground, washrooms with warm water and plenty of firewood :)
We had a trailer site near the far end of the campground. From the campground entrance if you go straight, you are paralleling a busy RR track. We think about 5 freight trains went through during the night and more during the day. The tracks are about 50-70 feet away. We did get used to the whistles as they neared the campground and then the rumbling as they passed.
The campground had a large pile of free firewood, but our site didn t have a fire pit , so we couldn t have a fire. I saw some fire pits at the sites near the entrance but not down at the end where we were.
The RV campsite design was unusual, and we liked it. They had a 30 wide driveway between two parallel roads so two RVs can pull in and each have their doors away from the driveway and facing a small open area and picnic table in a forested area. The 20 deep forested areas separated one site from the site on the next driveway. That is, between two parallel roads in the campground you see a wide driveway and a 20 forest over and over as you go down the road. It was extremely easy to park our 32 trailer and our F350 in our space.
There is a lovely trail through the forest and along the river. We enjoyed walking from the campground to the Samson Mall where the info center is. There is also a small market, restaurants, and gift shops.
If you use Google Maps, note that they don t show the river that runs through town. It confused me when the walkway in town crossed a river but there was no river there on google maps.
We really enjoyed the campground, and would definitely return.
Only challenge was firewood in the winter. Campground doesn't cover it, so it was frozen, very wet, and under 6 inches of snow.
Nice campsites, enough shade and sun at the same time and no mosquitos :)
On the other side the washrooms are really dirty and the showers are closed because of COVID... ?! We had a way better experience at every BCParks campground as they clean their facilities instead of closing them...
We wouldn t stay here again...
There is not much privacy. Sites are big enough but trees are just between every second site. We were at site 34 and nearby is the dumphousething which smells badly. Showers where dirty but free.
Very nice campsite with showers and everything what you need to camp.
Had a great stay, appreciated the fenced campsite, train sound wasn t as bad as I expected and slept through it. Beautiful surroundings. Showers were closed due to Covid.
Great RV park, lots of nature - even a BEAR!! Handy to everything
Great little 2.2 km xc ski loop -- trackset and skate groomed
While the spots were somewhat close to each other, the electric fence around gives a great peace of mind! Some of the restrooms were being repaired, leaving just a few places to go.
Nice campground.
Lake Louise itself is nice, but crowded. not sure it's worth the effort to queue to get there.
Huge trailer sites. Very poor signage to find your site, especially if arriving in the dark as we did. Trailer sites are "shared" back-to-back with strangers. Very loud and frequent train horn blasts. Good evening program. Lots of excellent hikes nearby. Right on Bow River - beautiful. Wonderful mountain vistas. Most trailer sites have no campfire rings.
Good campground. All amenities if desired. Campsites are quiet and inviting. Good chance is seeing wildlife.
Amazing campground with short drive to amazing views. Electric fence surrounding the site which brings a sense of safety. Although must always practice safe food handling because the fence is a deterrent but not animal proof.
Surprise a real truck stop in the auxiliary camping at night and their refrigerated motor works all night knowing I will not pay because I have not slept the night
Nice camping site and good pitches shuttle bus to town but didn t stop on the return last bus 6pm to bring us back
Great Campground, surprisingly quiet and private despite the number of campers. Showers were shut down during covid but other than that fantastic time.
Very easy to book, and finding the camp site wasn t hard. Loved the spacing between campsites and the fire wood provided for each site. The fencing to protect the tenting camp site gave more peace of mind when sleeping. Very clean and well kept camp grounds.
Perfect place for winter camping in Lake Louise. Were able to pull in late on November night and had so many options for sites. All sites that are available for winter camping are ploughed in the winter. Bathrooms were clean with hot water. Trains are very loud here so if you are a light sleeper this might not be the place for you.
Good campground but the toilet facilities could be cleaner and also just to mention for people that want to know, there was no hot water.
Very little shower for the number of campers. Max. two days if no reservation. Very inaccessible for homeless
Showers are closed?! Because clean bodies would spread disease so much quicker than unwashed ones. Makes so much sense.
Great place to stay if you're looking to start a hike from the lake. The parking lot fills up at 630am but camping this close gives you a great advantage.
Standard amenities for a campsite. We had a non-electrical campsire for tenting which was good. Flat tent spots. Limited firewood (supplied by the park in bins throughout the campsites) so we had to go to 2 or 3 bins to actually find some. There is an electric fence around the park to keep out nuisance animals (bears, wolves, etc) which i find unfortunate but it's a large park and tourists stopping through often dont follow rules for preventing animal attractants.
We stayed a couple nights so we could be close to the Beehives and Moraine Lake parking lots (instead of driving in from Calgary).
This campground is fairly basic but it s got all you need. Our campsite could have been a little cleaner, with some garbage in the fire pit that other parks staff would typically clear out. The bathrooms have running water but are small and make it difficult to physically distance; showers were closed due to COVID concerns (we assumed) but that s not too disappointing to us.
The campground is pretty quiet for a car campground although there are regular trains going through the valley. We didn t mind this and started to block it out shortly after we arrived.
There are some little trails nearby but, like mentioned above, we were after the Lake Louise and Moraine Lake trails anyway so we didn t make much use of these (if you re staying to hit those lake trails an early start is crucial, by the way!).
As beautiful the Lake itself is as nice the Campground is with very good facilities. The added feature is electrified fence to keep the large animals away from the tent campers making it safe.
Great campground with friendly staff and quite good equipment (place to eat, showers, place for backpackers to store equipment,...)
Cheap and affordable stay. Unfortunately showers are only on one end of the camping terrain and require a car to actually get there. The camping terrain is fenced in because of potential grizzly bear activity, so safety is definitely there. Canadian railway however passes day and night. Camping is not for light sleepers that's for sure.
This site is in the center of all the attractions. Awesome location! The only downside is the bathroom.
Overall its worth 5stars. But i gave 4 for a reason. During winter camping its best place. But for summer camping its crowded and noisy. Facilities are good. And there are perks in everywhere so ignore it and add to your camping list.
Amazing campground with large camp sites, clean bathroom and showers. Do plan ahead as sites sell out in peak season. For safety from wild animals camp site is protected with an electric fence.
I wish I had read the reviews before going here, it has an amazing location but the trains ruin it! They are so loud and if you're a light sleeper like me, good luck getting a good night's sleep. Why the hell anyone thought putting a campsite next to a train line is beyond me, it's obviously going to wake people up. We came in winter so sadly we didn't have a lot of options for sites, this is the only one open in the area
I preferred Jasper campground. This camp site is by the train tracks so it's noisy at night. It's also not the prettiest , but staff are nice and the little town of Lake Louise is nice . I recommend staying longer at Jasper or elsewhere in Banff
The camping area is great, you're close to everything, every hike, the little town... there is an electric fence around the campground to keep the bears away. The only really bad thing was the train.. you can hear the train whistles during the whole day and the whole night.. it was really but really loud because we were right beside it.
So disappointing. Do not think that you will be coming here for an amazing camping experience. This is nothing more than cheap high density accommodation with ridiculous rules and condescending employees. There is no relaxation as the anxiety of being watched constantly and being reprimanded for going in to your trailer to make a tea or grab a snack while you leave your empty coolers outside unattended will keep you hopping and grumpy. The constant roar of passing trains all night long just contributes to an overall negative experience. The only redeeming thing about camping here is that there is beauty to experience all around.
Excellent experience, nice place, safe place, friendly service. Due to pandemic washrooms were washed twice a day.
Great place in the mountains to get away and camp, but make sure you plan ahead for weekend stays!
Puts the campgrounds in B.C. to shame. Electric fencing to keep wildlife away from us dangerous humans. Great facilities, clean and well maintained toilets, electrical in washrooms for shavers/charge etc.
Beautiful campground with great facilities. The trees are lush and beautiful, providing each campground a bit of privacy but also muting the cries of the poor infants who were brought along on a camping trip.
