We had a trailer site near the far end of the campground. From the campground entrance if you go straight, you are paralleling a busy RR track. We think about 5 freight trains went through during the night and more during the day. The tracks are about 50-70 feet away. We did get used to the whistles as they neared the campground and then the rumbling as they passed.

The campground had a large pile of free firewood, but our site didn t have a fire pit , so we couldn t have a fire. I saw some fire pits at the sites near the entrance but not down at the end where we were.

The RV campsite design was unusual, and we liked it. They had a 30 wide driveway between two parallel roads so two RVs can pull in and each have their doors away from the driveway and facing a small open area and picnic table in a forested area. The 20 deep forested areas separated one site from the site on the next driveway. That is, between two parallel roads in the campground you see a wide driveway and a 20 forest over and over as you go down the road. It was extremely easy to park our 32 trailer and our F350 in our space.

There is a lovely trail through the forest and along the river. We enjoyed walking from the campground to the Samson Mall where the info center is. There is also a small market, restaurants, and gift shops.

If you use Google Maps, note that they don t show the river that runs through town. It confused me when the walkway in town crossed a river but there was no river there on google maps.

We really enjoyed the campground, and would definitely return.
