The nurses in L&D were absolutely amazing!! We had our daughter at 6:06AM and even though the labor was rough, the nurses were so patient, understanding and attentive!! The aftercare of birth from the nurses was incredible. They went with me to the restroom and helped me clean up and showed me every little thing to do! The nursery nurses were great with our daughter and constantly commented about how cute and precious she was! They came in routinely to check on her and make sure she was okay, which made me very comfortable with them giving her care! The only down side was that I was the only one who got a tray for meals and my spouse wasn t given anything. He was only allowed to leave the hospital twice a day due to the virus and when I asked dietary if he could have a tray, she said that ll be $3 cash and walked out of the room. Not sure that I ll have any more babies but if I do, I ll happily deliver here again with full confidence that I ll be well taken care of as well as my baby and I ll def remember my $3 cash next time!

Horrible experience! My son was in severe pain with a swollen & infected finger. I took him to the ER, where after waiting 3 hours, a nurse prescribed antibiotics & aspirin & sent home. 8 hours later, the swelling & pain was even more intense. I took him back to the ER. This time we waited for 4 hours before a nurse tended my son--more antibiotics & ibupropin. We only saw nurses but NEVER A DOCTOR. 10 hours later, the swelling & pain returned. Instead of wasting any more time & money with this hospital, we are calling a LAWYER . For medical attention, I recommend going to St. Louis, Arkansas or Timbuktu, wherever, but steer clear of this place!

It took 28 hours to get a specialist consult.....time and money spent in the hospital. I had nothing to eat or drink during that time even though staff promised to resolve that.

The ER staff was very professional and thorough. The two Jasons were extremely professional. Jessica E. went out of her way to ensure I was comfortable while in the ER.

The staff is so slow and rude. We ve been waiting for over an hour to get checked in. The ladies that are checking people in are just sitting talking about lunch and their back surgery that happened years ago. No one is getting checked in. This is ridiculous.

Was here for almost a week with my daddy. Not only was he treated by the doctors, nurses, nursing students, CNA s and staff like he was their dad, but they all gave him EXCELLENT CARE and put this worry wart s fears at rest.
I just personally want to thank each and every one of the men and women who had a hand in this helping my daddy this week.

The ER here is bad. Probably where most of this facility's bad reputation comes from. When we got to the floor the care was excellent. Everything was clean, medications were delivered on time and the staff was very friendly and professional. This really not a bad facility if you can avoid the ER.

Horrible hospital, not only to be seen as a patient but to work for as well. They let my son walk out with a broken elbow, and they killed my mother. Go ANYWHERE to be seen by a doctor other than here.

The absolute worst hospital ever. The ER doctor was not thorough. He did not listen, was difficult to understand, took no blood or urine for analysis, and prescribed the wrong medication for my ailment. Sought medical attention at Black River Medical Center where the doctor listened, ordered appropriate tests, and identified the problem and treated correctly. I will NEVER seek ANY medical attention at PB Regional again. I'm giving one star because I had to in order to post my opinion!

Took my daughter in Sunday night. My daughter is a former premiee and the same er doc that sent her to St Louis the first time sent her up stairs knowning she a former premiee.. they tested her for rsv it was neg, tested her for rhino virus tested her wrong. At 4:45 Monday morning my daughter almost died there.. and it took the doc over the post porden nearly hour and half just to call and talk to a doc to get air vac to come get my child.. so poplar bluff medical region either needs to close or they need to get better staff in there..

I went in for same day surgery, there was a complication so, I had to stay overnight. The hospital staff actually forgot I was there and I was left alone for most of the time I was there. They forgot to bring me food and my medications! They remembered to send me the bill though! I will never go to this hospital again!

We ve gone to the ER in this establishment several times and everytime they fail to help myself, my girlfriend, and even my son. It seems like this whole ER staff has never heard of the Hippocratic oath. If you don t have insurance then your just up a creek they may check your vitals but usually they just poked around on my girlfriends stomach and said it s a stomach bug. Wow that s funny how could you tell with out doing any tests, sounds a whole lot like malpractice to me. Today my girlfriend went to go get tested for Covid and they say they can t give her an answer on the results to call back later but apparently they are so understaffed they cant answer the phone or they just don t want to help people which is what I m inclined to believe.

My review goes specifically to the amazing women on the 3rd floor. My two month old was in the hospital for almost a week and I was scared to death for my baby boy and these women were so amazing and very professional, they took amazing care of my little man and he is now doing so much better and I have only them and the Dr. To thank! - Sincerely one grateful mama!

Rude!! Just rude staff!! Whenever I checked into the ER the old lady behind the desk was just rude to me. The next 3 people she checked in behind me she was please and thank you . I might be young but that s not an excuse for you to judge me and what s going on with my health. You don t know me. Every time I tried to call to get information faxed to another doctor the people who answered the phone was rude. I think the only nice person that works there is the doctors!! And even they are a hit or miss sometimes.

This hospital has the worst ER around. I went there the morning of March 6, 2017 with severe abdominal pain radiating to my back. I had the pain for four days before going to the ER there. I was basically dismissed with nothing more than back pain. The abdominal pain was dismissed entirely. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this ER! All this ER did was a urinalysis and nothing more because that came back as clear. I ended up leaving there and going to another ER in Poplar Bluff MO where they listened and ran several tests and found out I had gall stones and and need surgery to remove my gall bladder. Thankfully it was not a serious issue or I may not be here today since PBRMC COULD NOT BOTHER to check for anything really!!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. My most-recent experiences with the staff have been great. Doctors Nadipelli and Stone in the emergency department are easily two of the best doctors I ve ever experienced. Dr. Nadipelli was able to quickly and correctly diagnose, and admit my father who had come in to the emergency department by ambulance. The nurses in the emergency department, the critical care unit and med/surg. floors 5 & 6 were great, as well. They had no issue conversing with my father and my family, whether it be plan-of-care conversation or just general banter. They made sure we were all comfortable and our needs were met. Dr. Stone was also fantastic. I had to make a visit to the emergency department back in November of 2017, because I felt as if my pulse was too shallow and I was going to faint. My wait time was less than five minutes. The ER tech and the nurse were great, very comforting and friendly, and made sure that I was comfortable. They ran the traditional battery of tests on me and Dr. Stone came in to deliver the results. He was very comforting, very professional and very friendly. He told me all of my tests came back normal, checked my pulse and all was okay. I m sorry that so many seem to have had bad experiences with Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, but the facility and staff have been great to my family and I, and we are very thankful for that.

If you value your life, stay away! I have personally heard of multiple examples of patients (my family members and friends) being vastly overcharged (when they were told a specific cost beforehand) for various procedures in different departments within this Hospital (not a coincidence). Their care for my grandmother was horrendous, including giving her the staph infection while she had cancer. I have been here multiple times for family members having to go to the emergency room for serious problems, only to wait hours before being taken back to see a doctor. There were a few times going to the hospital that the front desk could not even locate who I was looking for. On one occasion we had a nurse scold us for not using hand sanitizer each time we went back in the room when going in to see my grandmother, and then turn around and not put hand sanitizer on themselves right after coming out of another seriously ill patient's room before going in and treating my grandmother, only way to excuse them self and make excuses when we brought it to his attention. Just had a friend who had a screw put in her hip here, it came out and is causing serious issues. And another friend fall and break her arm in multiple places and she had a terrible experience and multiple issues. Very inconsistent, under trained and inexperienced doctors and nurses / staff. Poorly rated hospital (do some research), and for a reason. There may be a very small amount of doctors and nurses / staff here that are the exception, but by far the majority are not. I am not sure where all of the five star ratings are coming from, my best guess is that someone is paying for these higher rating reviews.

Used to be a ok hospital in the old building back in the day. When they built this new hospital the place went to hell. I only been to the ER and I pray that i never have to go back. Er staff very rude and act like they don't want to help you. I don't know why I had the symptoms i had but I was treated like crap like i was crazy. I took off my blood pressure cuff etc and walked smooth the hell out. As I was passing the nurses station that rude nurse was sitting there so i said loudly I'm going to kneibert or cape at least I can get help

I had to spend 4 days in this hospital the e.r took for ever to tell me anything after a 6 hour wait on everything I was admitted after another 4 hours I got to my room, the nursing staff on the 6 floor ignored me and took hours past my time to get my pain meds then they were getting snippy with me like I enterupted them or stoped them from doing something it took them 14 hours for a nicotine patch on top of that when I told them I needed something to eat they brought me jello and no spoon when I was released from the hospital one nurse told my husband to please get me out of there she was tired of dealing with me I had to change my own bed and give myself a sponge bath they gave me a bunch of papers about my release but it didn't tell me when I could eat solid food or drive and what is bad is they are shutting down all the other hospitals down so we will have nowhere else to go besides a crappy hospital if I could I would go anywhere besides there

My girlfriend has been in labor and delivery for over 2 hours and in that time they ve stressed her out because she s not allowed to have anyone in there, including the father of the child. They ve given her the wrong meds, she was supposed to get a pill for speeding up contractions and instead got one for slowing them down, then they proceeded to tell her I m could not come up there with her bc her contractions slowed down. Now after telling her that her water is broke and they were gonna speed up contractions are now telling her that she s gonna be sent home. This hospital has been a complete failure this visit, specifically the labor and delivery department

Most non caring disrespectful hospital I've ever been to. The nurses in the Emergency Room care more for the patients than the doctors ever do. They are more concerned and care about your pain than the doctors because all they care about is putting you in even more pain than you was coming in and sending you home in that pain it's plum ridiculous that nurses care more about you than the doctors

One of our truck drivers got extremely ill on the road and luckily found Poplar Bluff Regional Medical. The doctors are taking very good care of him and all of the staff have been extremely helpful to him and his particular circumstances. His dog, Lila, had to stay in the truck while his partner is being treated. One of the ladies at the hospital works with animal rescue and volunteered to take Lila home with her..WOW! When I called to order flowers from the gift shop I spoke with Judy and found out that the credit card capabilities had not been hooked up, but she volunteered to pay for the balloons and we could just mail her a check. REALLY?? Does anyone do that these days?? We are truly Blessed to have individuals like these ladies still in the world. Our driver is getting the best care possible and we are thankful for the staff at Poplar Bluff. KUDOS !!!!!

I'm only giving one star because there's not a way...

I'm only giving one star because there's not a way to give a minus star. My mom just got transferred out of there today - thank you Jesus. She went in the 15th. A worker there convinced my mom it was not a good idea to call me and worry me I guess since she was on suicide watch due to having made a statement after being delivered the news she may have lung cancer. Didn't find out till that Monday that she was in the hospital. I called my mom then called the hospital back just to be sure they knew that she had been having difficulty passing urine and stools. They said they'd make note of it. The next day I went down there and asked what was being done about her other conditions including her lungs as well as her urine and stools. They said they didn't know what I was talking about, that they had not heard about this. I referred to the discussion I had with the nurse the previous day. Again I was told they had not been told about it but would alert the Dr. The next day I go in to see her and ask the nurse what is being done about her urine and stools, the nurse told me she hadn't been told about this. I lost it!! I said I wanted to speak with the floor nurse manager or whatever her title is. She said she would be sure to tell the Dr- to rest assured that my mom was in good hands. I said obviously not. The left hand doesn't know what the right hsnd is doing. I said I wanted my mom transferred-I was told that could not be done because everything that would be done at another hospital was being done there and if I transferred her, the insurance may not pick up the bill. I felt stuck. What could I do? I lived about 200 miles away & have a demanding job so had to get back home but called lots. I went back that weekend & she seemed to be feeling better so I thought maybe she'd be ok until she could get home then maybe go somewhere else. I have to mention the whole time I was there NO tests of any kind were done!! What's the purpose of being there? I waited to see the Drs. She had 4 of them. It was like they knew I was there and wasn't going to come into the war zone. The only thing I knew to do was to leave a detailed note on my questions and suggestions and leave with my mom. Sure didn't trust it with the nurses. I wasn't on the road 30 minutes and my mom called me saying that the nurse practitioner was there. Mom was smart on this one. She just called me and handed the phone to the nurse practitioner- had no choice but to speak to me then. I asked her about all of her other conditions then got to her stools and urine. She said she had no note of it. I said you have got to be freaking kidding me. Do any of you ever communicate? I said when I came here the lady who was sitting outside her room watching her because she was on suicide watch even made comments about she's having a really difficult time passing urine. She noticed it since she'd been watching her and either didn't tell anyone or you guys just didn't communicate-again!! What is wrong with you people? She said I know you're frustrated but please know we care about your mother and are doing everything possible for her. I said really? Is this the way that you'd treat your mother? If that was your mother laying in that bed would she have went now 6 days in the hospital and NO ONE doing ANYTHING about her not being able to crap or her straining with everything in her for 15 minutes for a little bit of urine. You'd let your mother go that long without addressing that? She said I promise you this is the first time I've heard about this. I said yeah, you and every other clueless person in that building that supposed to be delivering health care. I want my mom out of that hospital. I again was told the whole spill about the financial situation and that by this time it's quite a big sum. I said I wanted to speak to someone else. This same scenario kept replaying over and over me with different people. Long story but here's the gest of it- now my mom is in renal failure, on dialysis, intubated and in ICU. Still don't know if she has lung cancer. Poor excuse for health care!!!!

My boyfriend had major surgery done a few months ago. The 3rd floor staff was amazing. They were very friendly and caring. His surgery was on a Tuesday and he was supposed to stay there until the next Tuesday. The staff was great until Sunday. This one nurse ruined the whole stay. Her name was Wendy. The first time she came into the room chewing gum, blowing little bubbles. Very unprofessional I must say. We heard her arguing with an elderly gentleman in the next room. Apparently he didn't like her, so she told him, it was her way or none at all. My man was coming off morphine and she was rude to him. She actually told him he should go home and have a shot of whiskey. That's all he needed!!! She went to the desk where the other nurses were and said. "I can't stand these whining patients". What does she expect? It's a hospital. Somehow she got the doctor to release him at 6pm on a Sunday night. With a prescription and no pharmacy open until the next morning. She also yanked his drain tube out of his stomach with such force. It scared me when she did it. She reminded me of Kathy Bates in the movie Misery! While the rest of staff were absolutely wonderful. I praise them for their understanding and caring. Something needs to be done with this Wendy woman. SHE IS NOT WHAT A HOSPITAL NEEDS!!!

Staff on a scale on a scale of 1-10 was a 10.
The day I arrived at ER I was treated with respect, kindness and professionalism. The doctors immediately went to work on my health problem and stayed focused on diagnosis and treatment until I was discharged. I also would like to give shout out for all the nurses on all shifts. They certainly made my stay more pleasant and comfortable.

Sometimes you're lucky and get a good doctor and polite nurses but most generally you get hateful people who dont seem to know anything about manners. You can hear them talking about patients in the halls. I've been ignored and treated like I was ignorant about my own medical condition and even had them try and treat me for something I didnt even come in for. This reveiw is mainly for the emergency department of the building.

My dad was transported there and I called them asking for my father, by name and room number. They redirected me about 4 times through different sections throughout the hospital before someone said that "uh, this is the emergency room number" (since my dad was in the emergency section). Her tone was harsh. I said "yeah, isn't (my dad's name) there? he was transported there." This woman hung up on me. So rude. Didn't even try to help me.
This happened just a few weeks ago.

I don't even want to give this place one star, I had the worst experience here in my entire life the labor and delivery nursing staff on weekends is terrible I got handled super rough when I was checked for dilation so bad that I'm bleeding pretty heavy. My son was transferred to this hospital by ambulance for a broken arm that supposedly had an orthopedic doctor that night. They had us leave the room as they tried setting his arm (he was a minor by the way) and you could hear him screaming out in the hall. Guess what they put him through all that and didn t even set his arm. Are options was to either be admitted and him be put to sleep and have surgery or release him and find a hospital closer to home. You better believe I took him somewhere else!! Then they billed my insurance $8,000 to do absolutely nothing!! Then after my insurance paid they refused to see if we could qualify for financial help but since we have insurance they wouldn t help! My advice go somewhere else!

My son was sent to the Behavioral Center of this F...

My son was sent to the Behavioral Center of this Facility. He was sent there by a court order signed by a judge from where myself and a nurse from the hospital he was transferred from signed stating he had told us he wanted to kill himself. He was placed on a 4 day old. During this time they aloud him to call but not one time did a doctor or nurse call me to discuss the issue at hand. When the 4 days was up he called and said I could come pick him up. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. My son wasn't home for one day before he was off running around doing drugs again and is now saying he just wants to die and that he won't live past the age of 25. There was a reason he was sent here and he was not given the proper help at all. They will be paid from the insurance company and NOTHING was accomplished. Dr. Syed M. Sayeed did absolutely nothing for my son. I am not sure of all the protocol but if a patient is sent here by court order don't you think that the people who signed for him to be admitted should at least be contacted so they can let the staff at the hospital know what really happened and not go off the word of an 18 year old child. My son should have never been discharged. I feel he is worse now than he was before it went there. It is no wonder so many people are killing themselves and doing drugs if this is the kind of help they receive, which is really no help. As a parent you trust places like this to help and when they don't you are at a lose. I do NOT recommend sending anyone you love to this place.
I gave this place on star only to be able to post my review, it doesn't even deserve that.

Went to the emergency room at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical about two hours sent home . Bill was $24,000.00 . Later my doctor at the Copper Top got wind of what my problem was and had me admitted the same day at St Frances Medical Center in Cape Girardeau Mo.. There bill was a thousand less for 4 day vs 2 hours at Poplar Bluff. At that time i was scheduled for surgery in two weeks at Cape. Every thing is great now . Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is a good place to go if you want to die.

Took my mom to the ER. We waited a total of 6 hours in the little exam room. After they drew blood and took a chest xray, we still waited. Finally the Dr came in with the test results. Said mom needed a blood transfusion and she would be admitted. We waited another few hours after that till they could get a room ready. I made several trips to the nurses station to enquire about the time. I was told by one nurse, well ma'am this is an emergency room and we take care of critical patients first. Next time I will go to coppertop. I hear that's a good ER.

I was so weak i could raise my head to get sick and had to roll my head to the right to keep from strangling, got sick all over myself, with a nurse standing right there, that turns to my family member to ask if they wanted to clean me up and change my gown ect!!!!!! This was the first trip to this hospital and it will definately be my last. I wouldnt take my deceased animal here just to even verify life or death. Sorry but not sorry. The state realllly needs to look into this facility!!!!

The staff on the 2nd floor Tasha,Anna and Katie need to be fired ASAP.They are the rudest people I have ever met. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone not even a dog.I had a heart surgery there and I almost had a heart attack from all the stress of the rudest staff ever.it had got so bad that I was told to get up out of bed to be moved to a different room because I told Tasha and Katie to not come to my room being aggressive.I had just had a pacemaker surgery... it's sad

I been in the hospital and I received excellent care each time was in there. I was there four times this year for operations and I was treated great. My Mom is in now and she is being treated great. I have only one complaint and that is getting a shower and keeping the room cleaned so basically house keeping.

I have used the ER a few times and I won't be back. I will use another hospital. It is 144 miles away but I'll get good care. I went in with heart attack symptoms and got real sick at my stomach and sweaty. I put on my call light and they turned it off. We played this game 4 times, 30 minutes later a nurse came in and said I know you put your call light but we were busy. Come on I had heart attack symptoms.

I had the most amazing experience in every possible way! Each and every person that came in made sure I had everything I needed! They went above and beyond even when they were busy to make sure we were taken care of! This is my second time giving birth in this hospital and both times were absolutely amazing! I can t thank each nurse/tech/employee enough that took care of us the entire time we were there and made sure we were comfortable! Thank you all!

My mom was brought here yesterday and admitted to ER at 7 am and the doctor agreed that it is necessary for her to be transferred to St. Louis. Mom has been in both Barnes and Mercy. Barnes claims their ICU is full so last night I talked with Mercy. They called this morning that they are ready to accept her but now the nurse, Mark, doesn't seem to want to contact the doctor to get the transfer done...this is so frustrating!!!!!!

The standard of care is shockingly bad.

The standard of care is shockingly bad.

As a for profit hospital they make sure the executives are paid well, while hospital staff has to use 20 year old equipment. Many doctors I have known move on because they are unwilling to provide the low standard of care that the hospital admin has set.

This is where you go to die.

After not getting very much better from the virus, my doctor told me to go to emergency room . After many tests and several hours, I was admitted to hospital. All the nurses and staff were nice and were very attentive. I'm just glad that they did such a fine job helping me recover.

We made a trip to the ER last week when my 9 year ...

We made a trip to the ER last week when my 9 year old son fell and broke his forearm. His arm went from a straight line to an S shape so everything was more than a little traumatic for us, but the hospital provided the best care I could ve asked for. Even with the extra screening precautions in place, our registration was very quick and we were taken back to a room immediately. The ER provider, Dr. Nadipelli, was very kind, quick, and spoke directly to my son, then answered all of my questions. After looking at the X-rays, Dr. Nadipelli talked with us about the plan for the ortho surgeon to set the bones, which was a relief because the alternative outcome would have required surgery. Dr. Preston Jones, who has already taken care of another broken bone for my son, came down to fix my son s arm and was amazing as always, both as a doctor and on a personal level with my son. In between the provider s we had an amazing nurse, Adam, who did a great job of distracting my son from the pain he was in and how scary an ER can be. I know ER s are not a place anyone ever wants to be but if you find yourself in need of one I strongly recommend Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center s ER as they have a great, attentive crew who care about their patients.

There are some good nurses and doctors here but no one should be in so much pain u cant move. Then when u cant get out of bed and u ask for a little help u are put on hold for a long time. I think some changes need to be made.

Just had ACL reconstruction surgery and went ok but the aftercare was horrible. 3 hours to get a ice, 12 hours to get iced tea. I would call for pain meds and was lucky to get them a hour later. I would call for a trip to the restroom, they would come but would have to get vitals first. All the people taking care of me didn't communicate with each other. I don't ever want to be a patient there again. A beautiful facility but horrible bed side. I would not recommend this hospital.

They need to slow down and read the charts! Especially when it comes to allergies! I had a tech put plastic tape on me....I'm allergic to the plastic tapes....then I had a nurse going to give me hydrocodone....it clearly states in my chart that I have an anaphylaxis reaction to that drug! Please be cautious when dealing with this ER!
