Many of the "wings" are closed for renovation so accessing the full collection is not an option. Otherwise, this is a great museum, for adults and children to explore and enjoy. Get there early as the locale gets very crowded. Also, they've updated the connection between the museum and the Tar Pits so accessing both venues is much easier.

I visited the LACMA on a Monday so there weren't many crowds. The grounds are very pretty with sculptures and gardens around and the tar pits near by. The art is spread among five buildings and this was a little confusing as it was my first visit and I wasn't really given instruction on where to go. The staff were helpful though and the exhibits seemed well thought out. I would recommend if you are looking for an art museum in LA.

Thoughtfully curated exhibits that spark new conversations and fresh discernment of life and art. Highly recommended. Many new exhibits each year, making a membership ideal for encouraging multiple returns. Easy parking below ground or on a suface lot on Wilshire.

Many exhibits closed during renovation, so the value of the ticket was a bit diminished for us. Nice setting with many different opportunities to explore art styles. Not a fan of the modern exhibits and installations for the most part, but that's a personal preference. Most of the historical exhibits were under renovation, so we weren't able to visit those buildings. Beautiful grounds though and impressive structures.

We had heard the LMAC was worth the visit and we definitely agree. We didn t have much time and just focused on the modern and contemporary art collections. The place is quite large, but very easy to navigate. It is a well-designed facility with informative exhibits that make the works very accessible to novices (like me!). The LMAC sets a high bar for a County-run art museum. We re glad went and it was definitely time well spent!

I love checking out new exhibits! Most recently enjoyed the Art & Life in Figi. Amazing how resourceful and creative people can be and how fortunate we are to experience different cultures and ideas.

Nice

The LACMA is one of the most important museums of the city and also of the United States. A true encyclopedic collection of artifacts and art collections. Plan a visit of at least 3 hours, there is a good restaurant inside

LACMA's giant rock installation - a 340-ton 'floating' diorite boulder brought from a quarry in Riverside County, 105 miles away from Los Angeles, is a centerpiece of Michael Heizer's art installation 'Levitated Mass.'

Up until just now if someone were to question me on how I'm able to do what I do everyday and fall asleep at night... My answer would be much less eloquently put after that person comes to out of the kinda daze being hit with a two by four hacksaw Jim Duggan style cirqa Wrestlmaina 2. When Andre still had the glory at the top of the hill.

This is a nice place with a lot to look at. I was able to get the membership for my two daughters for free which I thought was pretty cool and it allows for one adult as a chaperone to go in for free per child.

Futuristic museum of art, very large spend more than a couple of hours because the collections are very large. Very special is the fashion section that goes from 1900 to 2000.the advice to fashion lovers. Suggestive also the Location and Installation of Chris Burden streetlights.

The scam of the year! everything is closed and they charge you for a ticket at the usual rate! 2 temporary exhibitions in 1 hour, it is seen. Total for 4 people: $ 100 tickets and $ 15 parking. It's really awesome. What honesty! (I have to put a star, otherwise it's a dotted zero)

Came here for the Guillermo Del Toro special exhibit and had a great time. Ended up wandering the other exhibits before they closed. Although what I was able to see for the short remaining time I was there wasn't my cup of tea, I still had a good time regardless. The security were very nice and helpful.

The guard walking around was a little annoying but I guess that's how you cultivate places like these. We didn't actually go inside and just stayed outside. It was smaller than I thought, but some of the pictures came out great!

Daytime & Night-time visits recommended. Check the timing before you go for the exhibits. It's quite nice.

Took a friend to this place when I first met her and now she's my wife! Don't know how else to describe this place, MUST visit!!!!

This place is amazing. Excellent rotating collections of contemporary art, free concerts, the largest rock art in Los Angeles (Eagle Rock doesn t count!), and plentiful underground parking. Oh, and then there s the very cool La Brea Tar Pits located on the same grounds. Must visit for all Angelenos and tourists alike!

A wonderful place to spend a few hours -- multiple specialized galleries, excellent exhibitions, and plentiful outdoor sculptures including a Jeff Koons Balloon Monkey. There are several choices for an al fresco meal or quick bite. On-site lot parking can be expensive, but street parking can usually be found. Surprisingly uncrowded on my mid-day Friday visit.

It was closed and they had a very bad management when we tried to go to the structure outside, that was open to public, but lot of road restrictions that lead us to walk entire block. Also as the museum was closed still they charged full price for parking.

An very diverse collection of amazing art and historical artifacts. The collection of Picasso paintings impressed me. When we went they had a exhibition on 3D media. I have no idea how long this will last, but it was very interesting. I was amazed to learn how long images have been presented in three dimensions.

LACMA is a staple for many genres of art, especially modern. The facility is more of a "campus" than your traditional single-building setup for most art museums.

The campus is under construction and many of the upper floors of the buildings we visited were closed or whole business were shut down for renovations slated to last until 2023.

That said, there are beautiful Picassos, Matisses, Modiglianis and more to easily fill two hours with buildings to spare.

Logs Angeles' encyclopedic museum offers something for everyone. Over the last 50 years it has risen to be one of the country's most important art museums, with a vital program of contemporary art balancing it's holdings especially strong in the art of Southeast Asia and Japan.

The Samurai exhibit was sensational, but the only reason I am giving it only three stars is because my friends and I had to pay the full specially ticketed exhibition price of $25. when we were supposedly entitled to a $10. discount. This was Saturday, January 31st when the general admission was free. Our entire group had to pay the full price and this was very unfair.
